Window menu in Oracle Forms

hello
i know that the Window menu cannot be removed.. well, is it any possibility to specify where to appear this menu?
i have 4 menus, each of then with menu items. the last menu is Exit, which exits from the Form. i wanna Window menu to appear penultimate, at the left of Exit menu.
how is it possible?
Greets,

Thanks, now it worked! (subdomain_name i set it to MAIN_MENU, where MAIN_MENU is the name of my menu module).
one more question regarding to this Window menu.. i have the Default menu in Romanian, so WINDOW is called FEREASTRA. the problem is that the last A isn't visible, so that menu is FEREASTR. what should be the problem? i mention that the last character is Ă, a romanian diacritic.

  • Calling Windows Explorer from Oracle Forms

    Hello,
    Is it possible in Forms to call Windows Explorer (as if pressing the windows key + E) to a certain map when you press a button? and then return the path and filename to forms again?
    Thanks,
    Dennis

    I have just received some more feedback and it seems they just want some kind of openFileDialog where you can select a file and then store it in a text field. (in contradiction to just opening windows explorer).
    We cannot upgrade to Forms 10g because the program is only just converted to forms 6.0. it will take years to convert it to another version since the program is this large.
    Thank you.

  • Windows 8 compatible with Oracle forms and reports 6i?

    Hi Guys,
    Were planning to use the WINDOWS 8 and I just want to know if it is running if i will use the Windows 8 for ORACLE Forms and Reports 6i?
    Thanks.
    Lala

    Hi.
    Haven't tried it but as you probably already know, the combination is not certified by Oracle. I guess it could work as long you are not using some OS specific functions. In either case I recommend you to test the application thoroughly before deploying it to production. That is the best advice I can give it to you.
    Best regards.

  • Resizing an Oracle Forms window.

    Hi there,
    I have a basic Forms Question. I am looking at the ability to resize the window for an Oracle Form. I understand that this requires modification to the Java code(in the JAR files). Can someone please let me know where I can make this change in the Forms. Which Jar files have to be modified for making this change ?

So how can I let the users resize the Oracle Window.
    Please advise.To resize your application window you have to set the windows property of your application.
    Resize Allowed=YesIf you want to resize the root window at want to set in a custom position,set the width and height as you need. Like
    Width=800
    height =600Hope this will help you

    What you have to do is,
    Open your existing from
    In Canvas - Create New canvas with Type 'TAB'
    And Create Two Tap Page - A & B.
    select existing each items in existing canvas and select main canvas and TAP page -A or B
    Once completed you can run your form as like before without any coding changes,
    Regarding your question for TAB trigger code, generally you do not need any code as it is auto select.. by mouse.

  • Oracle Forms 10g on the Internet.

    Hello
    I currently have an Oracle Forms Application, called JTT running on my company LAN, it comprises
    Oracle Database 10.2.0.4.0 on Windows Server 2008,
    OAS 10.1.2.0.3 on Windows Server 2003
    Oracle Forms and Reports 10g
    We would like to create a new architecture matching our own, on an externally hosted server through which our customers can access a production version of the Application JTT_Live. The application is complex and cannot be rebuilt in ADF or Apex.
    I have the following questions, running this application on the internet is it
    a) Secure? What additional security measures would I need to examine, or does the OAS handle all that. Should it be https
    b) Will the forms,reports be rendered quickly enough and navigation be adequate if bandwidth is optimized?
    I know Oracle Forms and reports are primarily designed for LAN but our customer needs an external hosting solution, we cannot rebuild JTT as it has 10years of development behind it. Any links to documentation for OAS and Database setup and configuration for Internet access would be very helpful.
    Or should I just forget about this as a possible offering to my new customers?
    Thanks

    As with any application deployed to the internet, security is one of your top most concerns. How you deploy the application depends on how your application is going to be used and how many concurrent users you expect to have. If you will have a high rate of concurrent users, VPN may not be the best option because your VPN server will become a potential bottle-neck. If your VPN server can handle the number of potential users then you might be OK. If you don't use VPN, then you definately will want to use HTTPS. Additionally, you will want to always run the most current version of the 10g software stack to ensure you have the latest security patches, etc. This will be a problem with 10g because support for this release ends in December 2011. Consequently, you would want to upgrade our application to Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMw) 11g R2 to ensure your application is supported and has all the latest security patches. If upgrading to 11g is not an option yet, then you may want to stick to a VPN solution and beef up your VPN server to handle the increase in users.
    By the way, I've worked on a Forms Application that was deployed to the open internet in the past. We used SSL and HTTPs to ensure the security of the connection and we implemented complex password rules to make it harder to Brute-Force hack a user's password. Unfortunately, Forms 10g does not support case-sensative passwords so if you want or need to support case-sensative passwords you will have to upgrade to FMw 11g with an 11g RDBMS. As to performance, we didn't have a huge user base (less than 1000 field users) so performance was good. If you will have a large user base, you will need to ensure your Technology Stack (DB, App, Infrastructure servers) can handle the work load.

    Hi,
    You can define a Form Function filling the basic information and
    HTML call Set as OracleOasis.RunDiscoverer. You can even define Paramters during the form function registration. With this definition you will able to create a link to a Discoverer workbook that will automatically open Discoverer Plus or Viewer to display the workbook using Apps security.
    Please refer to the following Metalink Note for more details:

  • How to use multiple Windows in a module in oracle forms

    Hi,
       I am new in oracle forms.I am using oracle forms 11g with weblogic server 10.3.5 at windows7.I have 2 canvases say CNVS1 & CNVS2 and two windows as Window1 & Window2.
    CNVS1 is attached with Window1 and having BL datablock.
    CNVS2 is associated with Window2 and having emp datablock.
    In navigation object window there is BL datablock before Emp datablock.
    When I run this module:I got only CNVS1 canvas at window1,If I click at Window2 from menu then Window2 Comes with empty, there is no any canvas(CNVS2) at window2.Please let me know what is wrong here.
    Thank You
    regards
    aaditya

    Hi Aditya,
    Just user Show_view('Your Canvas Name');
    If you have separate datablock for each of your canvases then you can use
    GO_BLOCK('');
    GO_ITEM('');
    Hope this will help you,

  • Viewing more than 9 Forms from the Window Menu Item

    Hi,
    I would like to know if you can list more than 9 Forms at one time from the Windows Menu Item before you have to select the MORE WINDOWS option to display the entire list of currently opened forms.
    Can this be set in the .mmb or some config file?
    It would be nice to have a list of about 12 Forms to choose from at one time before selecting the MORE WINDOWS option.
    Christina.

    Hi Frank,
    The Forms version our system uses is Oracle Forms 6i.
    A user would like to know if this scenario is possible during runtime.
    However, I would like to know what modifications can I make during design time to make this possible.
    Thanks.

    any suggest will be appreciate to solve this problem in my forms 6i.

    You need to have some active items left in your menu that are accessible to your users (Like the EXIT option).
    This also happens if you use no menu at all for a character mode version.
    This error can occur if the menu module has roles defined, but none of the menu items in the menu have attached roles. Make sure that at least one
    menu item in the main or starting menu has a role attached to it, and the user you are connected as is included in the role.
    If you do not want the menu roles to be enforced at runtime, disable the Use Security menu module property.
    If you make any changes to the menu, make sure you regenerate the menu to create a new .mmx file before running the form again. Oracle Forms Runtime
    will use the .mmx file.

  • Calling Report from Menu (Oracle Forms 11g)

    I'm trying to call a report from a menu item in a menu (that is attached to a form) in Oracle Forms 11g directly and I'm having some difficulty. I know how to call a report from a form and everything works perfectly.
    But since in a menu there is no item called "Report" to attach like there is in Forms, I followed on route which is to attach the "rp2rro" PL/SQL library on the menu file (mmb) and I also even did it on the form itself. Then when you convert a menu using the Forms Migration Assistant, it will comment out statements like "ADD_PARAMETER" and replace with calls to packaged procedures/functions from the package "rp2rro". I set all the parameters
    RP2RRO.SETOTHERS('PARAMFORM=YES');
    RP2RRO.SETDESTYPE('CACHE');
    RP2RRO.SETDESFORMAT('PDF');
    RP2RRO.SETCOMMUNICATIONMODE(SYNCHRONOUS);
    then made the call to the report:
    RP2RRO.RUN_PRODUCT(REPORTS, 'MYREPORT', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, param_list_id, NULL);
    but all i get is the error "FRM-41219: Cannot find report: invalid ID."
    The Oracle documentation for integration reports in forms is for when you execute the report within a form not a menu item (that is attached to a form). Any clues?
    My environment is:
    Oracle (Database, Fusion Middleware) 11g - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
    Web Browser - Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP Professional
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    One option is to use the Web.Show_Document() built-in, with the complete Report Server URL inside. Of course, you can hide some information (connection string for instance) by calling a section of the /reports/conf/cgicmd.dat configuration file.
    FrancoisI tried it using the code below
    DECLARE
    c_relative_path CONSTANT VARCHAR2(50) := '/reports/rwservlet/?server=';
    c_rep_srv_name CONSTANT VARCHAR2(50) := 'rep_wls_reports_calgf3_asinst_1';

    v_connect_string VARCHAR2(300);
    v_rep_srv_params VARCHAR2(200);
    v_rep_url VARCHAR2(400);
    BEGIN
    v_username := LOWER(get_application_property(username));
    v_password := LOWER(get_application_property(password));
    v_db_instance := LOWER(get_application_property(connect_string));
    v_connect_string := v_username || '/' || v_password || '@' || v_db_instance;
    v_rep_srv_params := '&report=' || c_rep_name ||
    '&desformat=' || c_desformat ||
    '&destype=' || c_destype ||
    '&userid=' || v_connect_string ||
    '&paramform=yes';
    v_rep_url := c_relative_path || c_rep_srv_name || v_rep_srv_params;
    web.show_document(v_rep_url, '_blank');
    END;
    and I get a new tab in the browser opening up (which is good at least) with the Oracle Reports Services page saying:
    Error
    No such Web command ().
    Now I've tried putting a URL of a Oracle's website (http://www.oracle.com) and that works perfectly. Another question is, where would the default directory be if I wanted to say call an HTML file? Would it be in the directory of FORMS_PATH where all my fmb, fmx, rdf, pll, etc...files are stored?
    Thanks,

  • Help: How to get rid off the default Window menu from FORM screen?

    Hi,
    I am working on a FORM application. On the very top left of the FORM screen, there is a default Window menu with:
    Cascade
    Tile Horizontally
    Tile Vertically
    etc.
    The end user will never use it for this application. To make the screen look nicer, is there a way to hid or get rid off it?
    Also if possible, I want to hid or get rid off very top "Oracle Developer Forms Runtime - Web"
    Thanks.
    Jimmy

    Also if possible, I want to hid or get rid off very top "Oracle Developer Forms Runtime - Web"I see you are running with separate frame. In the When-new-form-instance trigger, use
    Set_Window_Property(Forms_MDI_Window, Title, "xyz" );
    to change the window title.
