Window Mode button gone?

In Snow Leopard and Leopard, there was a long button in the upper right of each Finder window that would allow the sidebar to be turned off and on.
Mountain Lion seems to have removed this. Any way to get it back? I notice many mounted disk images open in a single window mode.

To answer your last question: yes, the keyboard works (you've said so yourself) and yes, you are missing something really simple.
Pressing the Record button can lead to recording a) Audio if on an armed audiotrack b) MIDI events (notes and control messages). But it does NOT record any (Track Based-) Automation; for that you need to set the automation mode to Touch or Latch. Then it will record without the need to use any record button, just playback. You should set the automation mode on the track to Read once you're done automating though.

Where has my "old finder mode button gone?"

My kids have enlarged my toolbar so far that I can't get to the scroll bar on the right. I was trying to reduce the size of the tool bar but I no longer can find the old finder oval button on the top right of the toolbar. How do I get it back to fix my windows?

Hold on there...is your profile correct - are you really running 10.4.6 as it states? The oval title bar "button" in Finder (and other places, like the preferences of many apps) is gone in OS 10.5 Leopard...I suppose Apple decided "old Finder" was just too old.
If you have upgraded your OS, you should update your profile ("My Settings" on the right), as that helps us helps you...

Revolve 810 G1 Unlock Computer when in Tablet Mode. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL or Windows Security Button

1. I have an Revolve 810 G1
Running Windows 7 Pro (64 Bit).
When I change the screen to Tablet Mode
(Folding tablet over keyboard and using as tablet).
I lock my computer.
2. What to know how to unlock without having to Open back up and use the CTL-Alt-DEL keys.
When Locked screen shows: Press CTRL-ALT-DEL or use the Windows Security Button to unlock this computer.
I would like to use the Windows Button on the bottom of the screen
(One Used in Windows 8 to change between Desktop and Metro) to Unlock screen And bring up on screen keyboard to put in my password.
This is probably how it should work, but it does not work.
Even bringing up the onscreen keyboard via the blue power button On the screen to Ease Of Access does not work.
The CLT-ALT-DEL on the on screen keyboard will not unlock the screen.
P.S.
Where is that Windows Security Button when you need it?

If you are using Windows 7 (not Windows 8), you should be able to touch the Ease of Access button at the lower left of the screen, then select Type without the keyboard (On-screen keyboard). When the on-screen keyboard pops-up, press CTRL, then ALT, then DEL. You should get a password prompt; the on-screen keyboard will stay visible unless and until you close it.

I can't restore my toolbars and the "full screen" mode button is NOT at the top right-hand corner of my browser (or anywhere else)

My toolbar and menu is gone from Firefox. I have tried closing the browser and opening new ones and all the suggestions in the help forums on this website (as well as several others). Pressing "alt", "F10", "F11" and SEVERAL other things have NOT helped.
There is no full screen mode button anywhere on my browser and when I put my cursor at the top of the window, NO menu options appear at all.
I normally would quit Firefox but the icon won't appear in my dock and my computer won't let me eject the application (to download again) because apparently it's in use (even when I've closed all windows).

F11 doesn't work on a Mac to toggle full screen mode.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command+Shift+F).

W540 sleep mode buttons are not working

Hello,
My question concerns the non-functioning sleep mode buttons on my Lenovo W540 20BG.
In my current power management settings, the W540 is suppose to
enter sleep mode by pressing Fn4 or by pressing the round power button shortly.
However, either one of these methods do not work.
My computer does enter sleep mode when usign the Windows start menu
(Start->Shut Down -> Sleep).
Please advise how to fix the sleep mode buttons.

Removing the sleep hotkey is dumb indeed; I'd like to have control over whether or not to sleep when the lid is closed (if I'm running something overnight and don't want the screen to come on at all).
Horrible gripe with this with my new Flex 14. Sincerely hoping this change is rolled back.

BSP code to open new page in new window after button click

I have a requirement to write a BSP code to open new page in new window after button click. I have done the same for opening in same window but not for opening in new window.

You can create a pop.htm page, and call the same in another page using the above code.
Refer standard BSP examples, SBSPEXT_HTMLB, SBSPEXT_PHTMLB, SBSPEXT_XHTMLB. You can run the default.htm pages and see what way you want to design your BSP.

Where is the Components Panel and the Design Mode button in FlashBuilder 4.7 Premium?

I'm new to FlashBuilder. I've been using many years just Flash and now I'm switching to FlashBuilder. I've seen some tutorials, but the Interface in my copy of the program do not match the one in the tutorials. I could't find the componets Panel and the Design Mode button. Any ideea why?
My Laptop runs on Windows 7. FlashBuilder 4.7 Premium is via Creative Cloud:

Whe you click on Views: Window->Show Views->Other... an interactive dialog appears with the tree of views available. Above there is a textField where you can enter a filter. As you type the text, the tree updates accordingly, after each letter.
I've searched for the Components panel ... surprise!!!

As you notice the list of views is empty even before I finish the spelling of the word "Component".
Is there something I should configure, or this feature is not available in this particular distribution ?

Will no longer be availalble in FlashBuilder, but in another Adobe Project?

I belive this features are not important for advanced users... but I'm just learning this. I'm used to work in Flash. I write ActionScript, but I'm not familliar with the objects availlable in Flex, so the Component Panel and Design Mode is quite handy on this stage.
Plus, there is a real concern about the future of this technology, now beeing available HTML5. So, there is a question of oportunity investing time in learning things no longer supported. The most frustrating thing is not having an answer to this question. Even a "No" is better than "We don't know yet" <- the answer I received from online support.

Window/Animation has gone - how to animate please

I can't work out how to animate 2 simple images in Photoshop Extended CS6. Window/Animation has gone in Photoshop CS6. I don't want video, but the Timeline won't let me use the images. Nor can I drag anything. If I click the little right hand arrow in timeline there is nothing there like before. For example, I used to be able to click Make frames from layers in the old version. There does not seem to be a way to do that now. Can anyone point me to instructions please? Thank you.

I just found out that if you click a new button in the middle of the timeline called Make animation, it moves one image. Then you can access the Make frames from layers. Wish there was a help file to show me how to do this.

Regain Lost "Mode" buttons from 1.0/1.1?

Along the way in the Aperture upgrade process, they changed some of the buttons along the top. They added a few "Modify Workspace like THIS" buttons, but removed some of the original "THIS workspace" buttons.
I removed them from the toolbar, not realizing at the time that they WERE NOT going to be in the toolbar customization menu any longer and thus they vanished forever....
Or did they? Does anyone know how i can get those buttons back? That is, short of uninstalling aperture, then reinstalling from the disk then upgrading back to 1.5.2 again... I think that I prefer those basic "modes" buttons rather than having to constantly modify depending on what I'm doing.
Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

When I updated, for some reason, I happened to actually read one of the messages that popped up (I generally don't read them carefully). It said that some of the modes were removed in version 1.5 and that if you had them in your toolbar, they would stay there (and work as expected) until you removed them. But once you removed them, they would disappear forever.
So, if you can't find the mode you're looking for in the toolbar customization menu, and you deleted it from the toolbar, they're gone for good.
You may be right that the only way to recover these modes is to uninstall 1.5, reinstall 1.x and then upgrade to 1.5 again.

Apple Aluminum Keyboard - Windows Mode

When in Windows mode I notice that I have to press the fn button on my new aluminum keyboard to access the Function buttons. How can I disable having to do this in Windows mode? I have it disabled in OS X mode but it does not seem to carry over when I am running Windows.

Apple wired keyboards are generally USB, so their basic functions work with a Windows machine.
However, special functions like volume up/down, the eject button, and such will not work.

Tabs toolbar not compact in windowed mode.

I just want to report a minor visual inconsistency in the new Firefox. When "Tabs on top" is enabled:
* If you "Maximize" the browser, tabs are shown on the same vertical as the orange Firefox menu. This conserves space and works well.
* If you do not "Maximize" the browser, tabs are shown BELOW the orange Firefox button, wasting an entire row of usable space.
I think that the tab behavior in Maximized mode should be implemented in windowed mode. Here are two screenshots:

Need help fixing video shut off after 2 minutes in non-windows mode

Good morning experts in this forum, I need your help solving a hardware/firmware problem of my computer. I have a Hpe 250f computer with Radeon 5700 series video card on it. I recently noticed one strange problem which prevents me from doing any meaningful work in non-windows mode: The video will be shut off after around 2 min if the computer is not in Windows mode. This includes BIOs mode and recovery mode. There is no problem if the computer logs on Windows within 2 minutes. But if I stay in BIOs settings or try to use HP diagnostics or try to recover a backup using windows backups for around 2 min, the monitor will turn blank and the power button of monitor will turn yellow from green indicating no video output to it. It can not wake up by mouse or keyboard. I read that older BIOs have problem with fan speed and I reflashed the BIOs. But it did not work. This problem drives me mad since I had occasional hard drive failures recently and I could not recover my system (That is why I noticed the problem recently, but the problem could have existed when I bought the computer). Now the computer is out of warrenty and I could not find any similar case using Google search. I really appreaciate your help. Thanks

I had the same problem when I upgraded. In my case it definitely was the power supply. In my effort to figure out the problem by swapping components in and out, the dieing power supply killed 2 P8P67 Pro and 2 2500k, and when I tested with the P67A-GD65, the power supply totally died, but the good thing is that the GD65 survived. Swapped in a 430W to test and everything was perfect. At full load with GTX260, it will draw less than 300W, so your power supply is fine to test.

I have a requirement in which i need to open the constructed URL in a new tab/window on button in adf table.
I am using action listener for the button, using action event i am getting the values of the particular row to the bean and using those values i am constructing url.
Now i have to use the URL and open it in a new tab/window.
