Window restaring after opening firefox
As soon as I open the firefox it connects to the internet and window gets restart,I have xp installed. Few days before I took one broadband connection, please provide me some solution , same thing with IE also.
Odds are that if several programs are affected, then it's malicious application running. Please try there malware removal links: http://www.safer-networking.org , http://www.malwarebytes.org , http://www.spywareterminator.com , http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.aspx
Also, please check for the issue from another machine in the same LAN to diagnose the issue.

Every time Firefox openedA modal pop-up from a website code usually looks different from pop-ups from an extension that can have a real title bar.

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

After opening Firefox, I was always able to in & out of it till I shut down my computer. Now, after opening Firefox, I go to another application then back to Firefox, I have to "Quit" Firefox and reopen. How can eliminate the back & forth of starting & quitting Firefox before I shutdown my computer?
uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. Sounds like Firefox is "hanging at exit". That problem is frequently caused by an Extension or a Plugin. Read all of the following articles.<br /><br />

After opening Firefox, how do I stop every new window I open from having old tabs?
Whenever I start Firefox, it opens a window with tabs I used from a previous session, which is what I want since I set it on Tools > Options > When Firefox starts. However, whenever I open new windows after I have opened Firefox, it always opens four tabs along with my homepage. I tried deleting the four tabs from history then opening a new window again, but it still opens five tabs in the new window. This started around last week. And I don't think I did anything different. I was just surfing the net as usual.
Check the home page setting.

I have a problem with Firefox not being able to start when I double-click the icon on my desktop. I'm not sure what version I was using before, but I uninstalled whatever version I had before and installed the latest version (14.0.1), with no effect.
I can see that when I try to open Firefox, the firefox.exe process will stay open for about five seconds, then disappear. I've tried to open Firefox in Safe Mode and open the Profile Manager via the command line, but the window never opens, the process always appears for a few seconds and disappears on its own.

I followed your instructions, even getting rid of my bookmarks and personal data when uninstalling, and here's what happened:
After installing, I kept "Launch Firefox" checked at the last prompt. A window opened, it asked me whether I wanted to import anything from other browsers, I said no. Then it opened the regular Firefox browser window! But, I closed it and re-opened Firefox just to make sure it would still work...then it did the same thing it was doing before, opened for a few seconds and then closed on its own without opening the window. :-( So, it would open only once, the initial time and then that's it.
I don't get a crash reporter at all. No visual confirmation that Firefox is trying to open, except the process appearing a few seconds in the Task Manager and disappearing.
My antivirus program is AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2012. I do virus scans with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware occasionally. I don't have Windows Firewall turned on right now because it caused problems with another application.
This problem is particularly pesky...I don't know what happened, until a couple of days ago Firefox was running fine...
Any further help or suggestions would be appreciated! -
i am using windows 7 and when i ck my processes the plugin-container.exe seems to be active. so when i end that process it seems to help but as time goes by and i have visited my various bank, and utilities sites the redirection stops. but after first opening firefox theres a lot of redirection and pages take time to come up. i have been using firefox for over 3 years first with XP and now with win7 but this is the first time this is happening. the only major things i have changed recently is i got McAfee Internet Security and i am using win media center more.

Windows 8 crashes opening Firefox
So Firefox used to work on my laptop. Now every time I open Firefox and type in an address, I get the new blue screen of death, with the error being "system_service_exception". Fun stuff. Nothing different or has changed. Help?
If you updated to Firefox 19, it has a known issue with certain graphics cards on Windows 8. Try installing Firefox 18.0.2 over your existing installation (no need to uninstall Firefox 19 first).

It started a year ago when I opened Firefox I got an error message, so I removed firefox & re-installed it. Still no go! So I opened "C" drive & searched for anything "firefox" & found a 2002 version!! I deleted everything, restart, & installed firefox and what I get now is what you see above.
OS is XPpro, sp3 + many updates.Do a clean (re)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox. -
As I open Firefox the window opens for a split second then disappears. On my taskbar it is showing that firefox is still open however if you click on it nothing happens and firefox stays inaccessible. I can't even get enough access to turn off addons to try without them if it improve performance.

I had this problem. Solution was to move mouse over taskbar icon. When Firefox displays small icon right click this and select maximise window !!! I think somehow Firefox got minimised to the taskbar and would not reopen as a full window. i.e it when you clicked the taskbar icon it would pop up and then pop back down to the taskbar again !!

Hi Andis.
First of all, this is completely normal behavior, although it's a bit irritating, I know. What happens is that when you close Firefox, despite the window disappearing right there and then, Firefox keeps running for a little bit until the whole closing procedure is completed. This can take a fraction of a second on fast computers, or can take a few seconds on slow computers or when Firefox is storing a large session (if you save your tabs). All you have to do is wait a bit until Firefox closes, and then open it again.
To see if it's still running, you can press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and then, under the Processes tab, you can see if firefox.exe is still there. If it's taking an unusual amount of time to close (which happens very rarely, and only if the browser freezes on exit), you can force the application to terminate from this application (task manager).
Firefox 4.0 will reduce by 97% the time it takes firefox.exe to close, so this problem will be basically erased for Firefox's next version.
Until then, I can recommend you this extension, which helps you restart your browser more easily and without bothering about closing times:

Other programs work fine while Firefox is open, but when I go back to the Firefox window, the problem starts again. I click on the "fiel edit view" buttons, but nothing at all happens. It's been like this for a few days.

On MAC Flex NativeWindow changes window position after opening

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry.
