Hi,
If there is any external device plug into your computer, please unplug it and restart the Server.
You can also test the issue in Safe mode.
If it can boot into Safe mode, please update any driver has yellow warning on it, also check if the dump file is existing under %SystemRoot%\, if so, please help to post back for our research.

Dear Friends,
we have created entities in CAS((nwds 7.0.1)) and deployed in J2ee.
During Testing:
when we right click on entity and click on test.
service Browser. is opening with two Buttons.
One Button it is " start with CAF source".
when we select this its throwing error
Error text:
Error when getting service facade : Service manager initialization failed Illegal argument exception: Unable to create javax.ejb.EJBObject. because of this we are unable to test the entity.
request to throw pointers to clear this error.
Answers will be rewared.

If .ear is one of the cause I have removed all the projects from DC->.dtr.Now my NWDS is empty.
Still why it is comming.

Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 - BSOD Stop Error 0x00000050 RDPWD.SYS

Hi all,
I have been struggling with a BSOD for the past 5 weeks and have scoured the web trying in vain to find someone else with the same issue.
Environment:
8 x 2008 R2 SP1 Windows Servers (8Gb RAM, 25Gb HDD) with Remote Desktop Services Roles installed, running as part of an RDS Farm. All Servers are VM Guests (hardware version 7) running on VMware vSphere v4.1.0-260247 Hosts (Dell
PowerEdge R710 - 128Gb RAM). Our vSphere 'farm' has 5 Hosts that connect to our EMC SAN via iSCSI with multipath routes.
Each RDS Server is load balanced via a Connection Broker, and each server has the same set of software / vm hardware installed. In a nutshell, each has Symantec Endpoint Protection v11.0.5002.333, Symantec Altiris v7.0, Microsoft Office 2007 as well as
other various software essential to these servers.
Symptoms:
Randomly throughout the day, one (or more) of the RDS Servers will crash with a BSOD more often than not with "caused by driver ntoskrnl.exe" sometimes with "cng.sys" and once with "ksecpkg.sys". So far in the 5 weeks I have had 90 crashes. Yesterday
all 8 of the RDS Servers crashed at some point throughout the day.
On a typical BSOD, it says:

The RDS servers are set to reboot automatically, and after a period of 5 minutes or so, the users can reconnect and log back in. On a typical day each server will have around 10 people RDP'd in to them.
The Users connecting to the RDS Servers included XP laptops/desktops and IGEL UD-120-LX Thin Terminals. The XPs have SP3 installed and are fully patched via Symantec Altiris.
Things I have tried:
- Analyse the dump-files (as per above).
- I have tracked each user logging on to the RDS Farm (via batch scripts) and tried to determine if this is caused by the same individual(s) but it appears random.
- Check to see if the crashing Virtual Machine is running on a specific host, but it has happened on all Hosts.
- Check to see if there was anything specific that happened on the day that the crashes started. There were about 5 new poeple introduced to the RDS Farm at that time, but there were using (a) client machines that had been used previously elsewhere with
no issues, (b) software that had been used previously, (c) in a remote location that had previous users using RDS, (d) have not been logged on to a RDS Server when it has crashed.
- Updated Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 to the latest patches (as of Feb 2012).
- Turned on Verifier (using recommended settings), and then analysed dump-files with the same reference to rdpwd.sys.
- Fixed the Memory Resource Reservation in vSphere to the full 8Gb for all these RDS Servers (so that the memory is not shared at all).
- Ran MEMTEST on a VM Guest with the full 8Gb RAM, on a couple of the ESX Hosts.
- Changed the VMTools Video Driver to the SVGA II driver from the Standard VGA Driver.
- Ran a full AV Scan (using SEP).
- Isolated the Printer Drivers using the Printer Management MMC.
- Ran sfc /scannow of all RDS Servers and rebooted.

Please start by that:
Update all possible drivers
Uninstall all unused programs
Disable all security softwares you have
Run chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannow
Run memtest86+ to check if all is okay with your RAM. If an error was detected then replace the faulty RAM or contact your manufacturer Technical Support
If this does not help then upload MEMORY.DMP file (You can zip it and divide it using 7-ZIP) using Microsoft Skydrive and post a link here.

PT 8.53 Windows Server 2008 R2 Error on booting domain.

Hi all,
We are setting up a test environment for PT 8.53 on Windows Server 2008 R2. Everything in the installation went correctly then we try to boot the domain in PSADMIN for the first time we are getting an error when trying to:

Will not attempt to boot server processes on that site.

Just seeing if anyone else has come accross this or has any ideas we could try.

Interesting, when you did the configure step in psadmin, did BBL start then or does it fail there as well? I've not installed 8.53 yet anywhere, but in my 8.52 env, doing a reconfig will start the BBL to ensure things are shut down. My guess is it fails, which I think would cause your configuration to not occur maybe?

What if you get all your env variables set, and try to run tmadmin by hand?
set TUXDIR, PATH, PS_MACH, PS_HOME, PS_CFG_HOME, PS_SERVDIR, PS_SERVER_CFG, TUXCONFIG, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, NTSYMBOL_PATH, APPDIR (I think that's all of them, I'd have to look again)
then from cmd prompt run tmadmin
at the tmadmin prompt run boot -y
that would extract psadmin from the process, if that fails to find BBL, then I think you might need to pull out Process Monitor from sysinternals, and trace the tuxedo start process, which will show you what path BBL is really being looked for in, and possible help you solve this. You can also use Process Explorer to review what environment variables are set for what processes (such as psadmin or tmadmin).
Let me know what you find, as I'm interested in knowing what is causing this.

Task manager on windows server 2008 doesn't show the memory from newly installed 2nd CPU

We have a dual processor dell power edge t410 running windows server 2008 (64-bit), standard edition. I have recently added a 2nd xeon x5560 quad-core processor (first one is also x5560 with 32GB (4x8) memory) and 16GB ram (4x4). Seems like the new CPU is
recognized in BIOS, Dell's server admin app and task manager shows 16 vertical boxes (hyper threading is on both cpus) under Performance->CPU Usage History and these boxes show processor load spread relatively evenly across all threads. On the other hand
the additional memory for this CPU is visible in the BIOS, Dell server admin but not in the task manager, which still shows the 32gb under performance->physical memory. Rammap also shows only 32GB.. Currently running proprietary processes that along with
the metafile and windows own ring up nearly 30GB, which in turn causes system latency for GUI and apps, as if the additional 16GB are not there...
So the questions are these:
1) does anybody know why the added memory doesn't show up in the task manager / rammap?
2) if the new memory doesn't show up, does this mean that Windows does not use it (which should be impossible if the CPU is utilized, unless I am wrong about windows using the cpu..)?

Unfortunately this solution is inapplicable to my version of the OS as it is 64-bit and not 32-bit. Do you have any other ideas?

Windows Server 2008 Explorer error when i right click on folder

Hi everybody.
I have installed a new Windows Server 2008 64-bit, update it to latest.
I have a problem that happens when i right click on a folder. The error only happens if i right click on a folder that has only 1 character long folder name. Doesn't matter if the name is for example: "1" or "a" or "f", the explorer.exe crashes and gives me

The error happened to me on different pc before so it is not related to hardware. The problem happens also if i create folder on desktop, problem stays if i create a new account, the problem goes away if i rename the folder to at least 2 character long name
(for example: "1a", "de"), by slowly double click it. If i go to Start --> Computer --> Local Disk (C:) --> create New Folder with 1 character long name and than go to Organize, i can cut, but not do the same to paste the folder inside another location,
because the error happens.
I didn't install Visual Studio.
How to solve the problem ?

This is not the usual behavior of the windows Server.
Please perform the following things
1) Perform a clean boot

Clusterware 10.2.0.4 on windows server 2008, runcluvfy error out

I am installing oracle clusterware 10.2.0.4 on windows server 2008.
I got the following error when I ran runcluvfy stage -post hwos -n node1,node2
Path "C:\temp\" does not exist and cannot be created on nodes
This meessage is happening after Checking node reachability and Checking user equivalence phases.
This is my complete log:

Checking node reachability...
Node reachability check passed from node "node1".
Checking user equivalence...

Does anyone have a clue for this error? I have read some one's input back in 2/2009 on AIX. But the solution did not help me.

Does this directory exist and have the correct permissions and ownership granted for the Oracle 10g RAC Clusterware?
If not, then you need to create the directory and grant correct permissions to it. Also, have you checked to see if Windows 2008 platform has been certified and validated for Oracle 10g RAC installation?

When trying to start my Windows server 2008 R2 Data Center, I am getting "ramdisk device creation failed due to insufficient memory",

I have the following:-
VMWare workstation version 9 , with windows server 2008 R2 data center installed.
- I have installed the windows 2008 R2 inside the VM using an iso image.
- The host is windows 7.
I use to work well with the VM, but after adding a new VM to the same workstation . I start getting the following error when starting my old VM
ramdisk device creation failed sue to insufficient memory.
And on the windows boot manger screen they mentioned to :-
inset my windows installation dis and restart my PC.
click “repair your computer”
but not sure if this will fix the problem , baring in mind that the RAM assigned to the VM
is 24 GB & 80 GB hard disk.

Windows Server 2008 x64: Error on Shadow Copies tab

Pulling up the Shadow Copies tab on any of my drives gives the following error:
Initialization failed. Error 0x80040154: Class not registered.
Any ideas? Per the event log, the VSS service is starting and stopping successfully with no errors. No errors are being recorded in the event log when this error happens.

This issue may be occur due to some DLL files failure registered on the system.
Troubleshooting steps:
1. Open a command-prompt on the problematic server, and type the following commands to manually Register the following VSS DLL's.
cd %windir%\system32
regsvr32.exe /i eventcls.dll
regsvr32.exe /i swprv.dll
regsvr32.exe vssui.dll
regsvr32.exe vss_ps.dll
regsvr32.exe msxml.dll
regsvr32.exe msxml2.dll

vssvc /register
2. If the above steps don't resolve the issue. Since the VSS UI also depends on the proper functionality of the "Task Scheduler" service. Please check and verify the "Task Scheduler" service is Started. After a reboot,
please check if the Shadow Copies Tab can function properly.

worked for me on our 2008 R2 SP1 PDC server with file server (and DFS) role.
However I got a bunch of errors on registering most of components, only a few succeeded (vss_ps.dll,
msxml3.dll and command vssvc /register) - that was enough to restore the Shadow Copies tab in volume properties, I was getting access denied before.

I have a base template (which has never been sysprep'd) from which I create linked clones. After the linked clone comes up, I run the following command:

This is typical of an OEM license issue.
To avoid this in the future you should look at site/volume licensing.
Anyway.
so, first check if you can re-arm by runing the
slmgr.vbs /dlv and check the re-arm counter, if it set to zero.. you need to do the following :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929828 (set the <SkipRearm>1</SkipRearm> like in the example, note: this option will make the product key window to appear in the setup process).
you can also try running : slmgr.vbs -rearm, to rearm Windows.
after that, let's come back to the sysprep process.. for syspreping already syspreped machine we have to change few keys in the registry :

Start -> Run : msdtc -uninstall (wait few seconds)
Start -> Run : msdtc -install (wait few seconds)
Restart the machine
Check the registry for the right registry keys values
sysprep with the new XML answerfile.

Oracle 10g on Windows server 2008 R2 - error : Logon failed. Details: ADO

Hello,
I have installed Oracle 10g 64bit client on Windows 2008 R2 64bit server. I have installed Visual studio framework 2.0 and 3.5 on Application Server i.e. Windows 2008 R2 64bit Server.
But when i run report from server, it shows following error message :
*Logon failed. Details: ADO Error Code: 0x Source: ADODB.Connection Description: Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed. Error in File C:\Windows\TEMP\testreport {FE5A4BC0-DF74-4E58-87F1-0F203501A3FC}.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters.*
I have created report with design time connection with oracle 10g tables. It runs in my development machine. but when i deployed on windows 2008 r2 bit server, it raised above error. After that, i created another report with command instead of using design time database connection with table, it run on server smoothly.
So Pls help me to come out from this problem.
If anyone has solution for it, pls share it

Today I installed all software in following order.
1) First install oracle 10g 32bit client & 64bit client on windows 2008 R2 development server.
2) After oracle installation, I installed visual studio 2005 and tested crystal report on server in debug mode. It was working completely.
(Both type of report - report created with the help of command in crystal report & crystal report created in direct reference of database table)
Then i published my test project and setup on same server for clientside testing. but on client machine, it shows error message.
that was : The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument' threw an exception.
One more thing i have observed that was report created with help of command in crystal report was working on client machine. But report in which i have added table direclty, was generating above error.
Then i installed crredist2005_x86.msi and crredist2005_x64.msi from visual studio installed folder. After installation, error message changed on clinet machine.

Still in debug mode on server, asp.net project is working with crystal report. I think, when i run asp.net project in debug mode on server, project may be run on 32bit mode. When i run same project from published setup on client machine, it may be run on 64bit mode.
I can't understand how to solve this problem.

Backup Error : The Data Is Invalid Windows Server 2008 R2

Hello,
I have a Problem when I try to make Backups to Partition C in Windows Server 2008 R2:
Error The Data is Invalid.
Obs: I can make backups for System Reserved Partition .
I had the same problem 2 months ago (the data is invalid), Then I folowed this the advice to delete "Framework64\v2.0.50727\Temporary

Now I have the same problem and I delete the
Temporary ASP.NET Files , but it is not working , I received the same error on backup:
"The backup operation that started at '‎2012‎-‎09‎-‎20T07:13:26.024163900Z' has failed with following error code '2147942413'. Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved."
When I try vssadmin list writers, Everything is ok , "No error" .
I tried to run :

the issue may be caused by an invalid entry inside the following registry sub tree.
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
Please open the registry editor with regedit.
Expand and local to the subtree, check if there is an entry that has a ".bak" value appended. If so, this may be cause the failure when trying to resolve the SID of the writer.
Please backup the registry key first, and then delete that entry with the extra ".bak" and reboot the server then test the backup
Run the command "vssadmin list writers" and make sure all the writers are stable with no errors
Please look for errors in application event logs after you initiate backup on the server
