Window to Combine Files Won't Appear

Help! I am unable to combine files into a pdf on my Mac. It worked fine last week but it won't let me merge/combine files now. Everything else with the program seems to be working fine but this feature, the feature that I use the most on Acrobat XI. I have chedk for an update and rebooted. Do you have any suggestions?

Try re-creating your Preferences. I've seen another discussion where this suggestion worked on the Mac.

You might have the outline mode turned on for the timeline layer that you are on. Try clicking that colored rectangle in the timeline layer near the layer name. It should be a solid color filled rectangle.
If that does not change it then look in View -> Preview Mode -> and make sure Outlines is not selected

After Effects Windows 64 bit file won't open on Mac!

I have CC on a Windows 7 (64 bit) system and on a MAC OSX Snow Leopard, 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Version 10.6.8 and when attempting to open a Windows created After Effects file on the MAC got the "Can't open 64 bit version 12.2 file on this Mac" message. What to I have to do to make them compatible? I wasn't told this when I signed up!

Your answer is either to upgrade your Mac's OS or to save the CC file as a CS6 file. (Which is possible according to this list.)

Using Parallels 9 and WIndows 7, .exe files won't launch

I have tried everything I can think of.
When I double click the .exe (from mac or windows makes no difference) I get an "open with" window listing mostly mac programs to try to launch it with. Need help.

Files won't appear

I have a mac at home I am using after effects cs6 and have an i mac i core 5. I took my project to school on a pc and worked on it. when I brought it back home my files wouldnt show up. I got an error message saying that 98 of my files were missing and I can't figure out how to make them show up. I had this problem before only with text but now almost all my files are missing. I was one step away from finishing my final project. Please help.

A common problem with beginners failing to copy the footage files. When you are moving a project the safest thing to do is to use the Collect Files feature in AE. Go to File>Collect Files and follow the prompts. Just be aware that if you have 2 hours of footage in your AE project that the 2 hours of footage is going to be copied to the new project folder you create when you collect files.
If you have a bunch of footage that you are not using in your project then it is also a good practice to use the Consolidate or Remove Unused Footage features under the File Menu before you collect your files.

MP3 files play in WMP just fine, but won't appear in my iTunes music list

I just started using iTunes on an external hard drive, and after adding my music some albums & files won't appear in the music list. No matter what method I use to add them they still don't show up, and so I can't put them on my iPod or even play them through iTunes! I have seen several similar posts, and I can tell you that the tags are fine, and all the music was ripped from purchased CDs. So does anyone know why, and how I can get them to show up like they should?!

I posted the same issue earlier today, hopefully someone can help. As time goes on I'm starting to believe more and more this is a bad bug with the new iTunes.

Acrobat XI Pro combine files window not visible

So I was trying to combine files into one pdf this morning, but Acrobat's window for doing so would not appear. I could minimize it, and see it down on the bottom of my dock, but when I tried to maximize it, it would disappear. (I'm on a Mac). Everything else on the app was working perfectly. I:
-checked all preferences
-tried to re-arrange window configurations
-made sure my 2nd monitor was up as it might have been last time I used the program
-opened pdfs and then tried to combine them
-quit and re-opened the application several times
-tried again to access the 'combine' window from every angle I could
-rebooted, then went through it all again
-went to adobe to check for updates. Application manager says Acrobat XI is up to date. Won't let me do anything.
So, I decided to uninstall it so I could start fresh and re-install. Uninstalled, went back to the Cloud. App manager says Acrobat XI is up to date, and still won't let me download or anything else.
Rebooted. Went back to the Cloud. Same thing again.
I would very much like to be able to use this app. I have things to do...

I figured out how to recreate the preferences and it fixed the problem. Here is how I did it:
Quit Acrobat
In Finder hold down "option" and open the "Go" menu. Pick "Library"
Open "Preferences" folder
Drag "com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist" to your desk top
Reopen Acrobat and try to merge 2 files
If it works you have solved your problem. Acrobat will replace the missing file with the default.
If it doesn't work you can drag the original folder back into "preferences" and keep trying to figure out what was wrong.

CS6 Photoshop: One newly-created PSD filewon't print because the print dialog box won't appear altho the file properties appear to be the same as other files that do print.

CS6 Photoshop: One newly-created PSD file won't print because the print dialog box won't appear after selecting File > Print. Then "Print" becomes grayed out. The file properties such as permissions, are the same as other PSD files that do print. This file also cannot be converted to Adobe PDF, which is not offered as choice under "Save as", whereas other can be. I've exited, reopened Photoshop, restarted computer, checked out other CS6 PSD files which do print, nothing changes. The 52 MB file has been flattened. OS is Windows 7. Thanks for any suggestions.

Sounds like the printer driver is having some problems.
Try holding the space bar down when you select Print (which makes the print dialog NOT load previously used settings).

Firefox library won't open up in windows pdf.documents file.

in firefox browser I scan from a hp8500 all-in one printer to my windows 7 documents file. When i go to open a document file in firefox library (after it was scanned) I can not open the downloaded file. The download arrow completes I click to open the file and it won't open.
All of my previous documents file in Adobe is now Firefox library.
I just want to open my files and read them.
my back up is dropbox.

The window would open and I would get the hourglass cursor suggesting something was happening, but the Apple home page (default from the install) would not load, nor would any other page I tried (google, yahoo, cnn).
Even though it's about a different application, I'd try the following document with that:
iTunes 10.5 for Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(Safari uses the same webkit engine to render web pages as iTunes uses to render the Store pages. So an issue that can cause the iTunes Store to blank can also cause a Safari for Windows application on the same PC to produce blank pages.)

What happened to "combine files" thru Windows Explorer in the latest upgrade?

I'm running Adobe Acrobat X - 10.0.2. Until I did an upgrade a few days ago, you could selct multiple PDF files in Windows Explorer and then do a right-click and select "Combine Files in Acrobat" (or something like that). Now that options has been removed? What gives?

Do your images show, if you disable the option "Do not import duplicates"? If yes, then check, if the images have already been imported, eg. using Photo Stream, if you are using Aperture 3.3 or later.

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here.
Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download. I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them who are requiring the one-time only download restriction. To get it onto your other devices you will need to sync it via a computer. Depending upon what country that you are in, Audible.com have their own app (Audiobooks from Audible) so you might be able to buy direct from them, though I don't know whether you can buy within their app or download audiobooks directly from them within the app e.g. whether they need to be copied via a computer.

Random exe-files won't run on windows. Driver related?

Hope someone smarter than me can find an answer to this...
I've tried running a bunch of games via bootcamp and random exe-files won't run. A couple of times the setup.exe wouldn't start and other times the installations go fine but the game itself refuses. I get a short flash of a dos prompter that disappears within the fraction of a second and then nothing happens at all.
I get the same thing weather I run XP SP3 or Win 7 x86 and I've probably tried ten games all together.
I'm thinking it must somehow be driver (or else way BootCamp) related since all games have been successfully run on native PCs.
Any ideas?

That sounds almost like trouble with your Windows Installer.
What versions of Windows installer are you running for each of your OSes?
A quick way to check: bring up a Run line, type msiexec and hit the Enter key. The Windows Installer version should be at the top of the information screen that comes up.
