WIndow VISTA, Photoshop CS6

You shouldn't have to deactivate it if it's the same computer.  Remove photoshop as best you can using Windows Uninstall.  Then reinstall a new copy from here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html
Make sure you select the same version that you had before (extended or not, same OS, etc).  It shouldn't be an issue if it's the same computer.

I just bought a new Mac Book Pro and did a migration of the content of the old laptop (also a Mac Book Pro) to the new one. Now I cannot start Photoshop CS6. When I am starting it I have a window "Adobe photoshop CS6 extended" opening requesting a connexion. When I am entering my password for the connexion the software crashes. How can I fix the problem?

Migrating, transferring or copying is DEMANDING trouble, not just asking for it.
Always install from scratch, from the original media,

  • "Help improve Adobe products" window crashes Photoshop CS6

Most od the times when I try to open a Photoshop CS6 file (MacBook Pro Retina, Mac OS 10.8.3) and the "Help improve Adobe products" window shows up, no matter if I press the "Do not participate" or "participate" button, the program opens but all tghe menu items appear in gray or the program crashes

Same problem here, can no longer use Photoshop. Have never installed MacKeeper or MacCleaner which are named as culprits in other threads.

  • Need help with extracting a faint reflection from a window with Photoshop CS6, from a jpg photo

I was wondering what tools are needed to be used to extract a clearer image of a reflection in a photo.
    I am using Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit).
I don't know what else I should add. Please ask, and I will answer as much as I know.
    Regards,
    Isa

I asked the photo owner and was told that they don't want their picture posted in public. So, I can't provide that specific image.
Perhaps if you may, could you please find a picture of a person reflected in a window (shopfront) and see if you can make the reflection of the person anymore clearer?
Here, watch this video for a better idea of what I am after: CSI Magic
I am the first to admit that this video clip is a far-fetched possibility (read, impossible from such a distance and angle), but a reflection from a much closer object (it was of a lady taking a photo around 2 metres/6 feet in front of a shopfront, to get her friend some contact details. She is [not so] clearly visible within the reflection), may be able to grab more of her details from the reflection.
I almost feel like going out and taking a picture myself to describe the situation more thoroughly, as I believe the way I worded my initial request may be misleading, as chilecayenne seemed to be misled by it. However, if anyone else could take/provide such a photo, and post it up here, I would really appreciate it.

  • Windows 8 Photoshop CS6 stopped working

After reinstalling CS6 PhotoShop CS6 on Windows 8 no longer starts. It doesn't start as administrator either

I did reinstall  because both photoshop and indesign became unresponsive when starting. I guess an Adobe update rendered both unusable.

  • Windows 7, Photoshop CS6 or CC Dialog boxes Messed up bad!

    Hi Guys,
I'm running a PC with Windows 7 and a Nvidia Quadro 600 Card.
I have tried solving this one on and off for many months with no luck. Updating the drivers on the GPU etc. Clean installing.
It seems to affect only photoshop dialog boxes. But on both CS6 and even now on CC.
I'd settle right now for anyone even seeing this problem before! (Although I'd love a solution, don't get me wrong)
Here are a few snippets of the problems. Makes it impossible to read and use. Poor guy who uses this at work, is having a hard time using photoshop! It's every dialog, that gets messed up.
    Um, help!

I actually can't believe I'm writing this, but I have finally resolved this issue!
I think it might have been something to do with duplicate fonts.
I had duplicates of Arial and about 9 other fonts. However for the life of me, I could not delete them after going through changing ownership of the Windows folder to enable deletion of duplicate fonts which were used by the system. Couldn't do it that.
I finally re-installed WIndows 7 as an upgrade. So basically I was upgrading to the exact same version of Windows 7, while maintaining all my original settings, programs, mapped drives etc etc. Everything.
And photoshop looks peachy now! I can actually see what I'm doing!
But thanks to Dutch Paul Paul, who got me thinking along the lines of re-activating fonts!

  • Windows vista/photoshop CS4/epson 2200 printer interdiction

my previous computer used windows xp and worked fine with cs4 and the epson 2200.  unfortunately, I have never been able to get this fairly new 64 bit vista system to work with cs4 and the epson 2200.  I have downloaded the 64 bit driver from epson and after talking with epson tech support it seems it is  not the printer.  I have tried virtually every combination of  deleting/reinstalling the driver, every combination of "letting printer manage colors" and letting photoshop manage colors, etc.  in the past, I have let photoshop manage colors.  then miraculously, i let the printer manage colors and it worked for a day or two and then it went back to the same muddy off color mess.  now, it looks the same no matter what I do.  somehow, it seems as if my windows program isn't interfacing with the printer.  if anyone has even the slightest suggestion of what to do next i would appreciate it.  other wise, i may just upgrade to windows seven to see if that works any better.

I knew Vista had a dislike for IDE
Thanks for sharing that piece of info. I might add, though, that Vista not per se dislikes IDE, it just does not like some IDE commands and running such disks in compatibility mode, which in part of course also depends not only on the disk, but also the motherboard or specific drivers that may be required. Anyway, given the low price of harddrives, replacing an old drive with a new SATA should be a nobrainer for most people...

  • Question about "Apply Now" window in Photoshop CS6

Is there a way to turn off such warning or notification windows like the "Apply Now" Yes or No window that appears after certain changes, such as resizing an image? Also frustrating that I have to reselect the Select tool in order for the change to take place. thanks for any help. I am a former Elements 8 to CS6 user, so I may be missing something.

Never having used a discussion board before, I am not sure how to even make a response to yours, but let’s see if this works. If I am in a .psd file, and say I resize an image…a photo. In order to make the resize take effect, I cannot just click my cursor onto another area of the file, as it won’t release that particular layer I am on. I have to go back to my tool box and select the Pointer Tool or select too again. Once I do that, Photoshop sends up a window asking if I want to apply my changes…every time. Does this make sense?

  • Is there ANY form of PhotoShop software that I can buy/download onto my Windows Vista Home Premium computer?

I am well aware adobe does not usually support Vista.  However, I need PhotoShop to continue my work off campus while on an internship.  I honestly don't care if it's CC or elements, but I need some program that lets me edit photos.  I don't want to jump the gun though and buy some CD or download software that ends up not compatible.  I apologize if this is an odd request.  If someone asks me why I still have Vista, the answer is basically this:
    1) This is a 5-6 year old computer and that's the program it came with at the time (and that I'm used to)
    2) As a university student, my biggest fear of switching over to Windows 7 or 8 is that they are not "user friendly" as some people have put (again, student here so the LAST thing I want is to not be able to find all my documents again...my Dad is currently having this problem with Windows 8)
    3) I'm not too keen on upgrading to Windows 7 or 8 UNLESS it's a last resort AND I don't have to copy everything on my computer onto a hard-drive and then move it back over after upgrading (I'm not that tech savy so I'm afraid I will mess something up)
I apologize again if this sounds strange or anxious of me, but I really would like to continue helping the faculty at my school buy working on this project (they're already dealing with issues of setting up the MAC there to work with the new website).  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

  • FAQ: How do I uninstall the Photoshop CS6 beta?

With the Photoshop CS6 beta coming to a close and the 60 day trial period expiring, you'll be looking to uninstall the beta software from your system.

Uninstallation is easy, and can be done in just a couple steps depending on your Operating System.
Important: Do not attempt to manually uninstall or remove Photoshop CS6 beta by dragging folders to the Recycle Bin (Windows) or Trash (Mac OS). Doing so can cause problems with uninstallation, and installation in the future.

Select the items that you want to remove
    Click Uninstall
Allow the uninstaller to complete then click Close

    Didn't Uninstall Correctly?
If you didn't uninstall properly, you can use the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool to remove the Photoshop CS6 beta from your system: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

CS6 does not support high-DPI displays on Windows, only Retina on Mac. You have to live with it.

  • Why can I only paint straight lines in Photoshop CS6?

I am trying to paint something that I have wanted to for a while now, and Photoshop is presenting some troubles for me. I can not paint curves, and instead, only straight lines without pen pressure (Size, opacity, the likes.) The result of my efforts is the same as if I were to draw a dot (click once in other words), press shift, and make another dot somewhere else. It's just straight lines no matter what.
I am currently on an Emachines computer running Windows 7, Photoshop CS6 and this is the first time I have bothered with the brush tool in Photoshop.
I hope this information is useful for someone to help me so that I may paint freely. Thank you for reading.

What do you mean by the first sentence you said?
It is possible that the Shift key is stuck on your keyboard.  If you add a Type layer and some text, you'll see if that is the case or not.  Unlikely I'd have thought, but things can get jammed between the keys, and you need to eliminate this possibility before moving on to other possibilities.
Oh, I see. No, the shift key is not the problem it seems. I have a feeling that it's the brush I'm using.

  • Indesign trial version Windows vista

    Hi There,
I use Windows Vista (32 bit system, 4 GB RAM) and wanted to download a trial version of Indesign. Unfortunately, the CC version does obviously not support Windows Vista. CS6 or CS5 would also be ok for the beginning, but for this versions I cannot find a trial version download link. Has anyone an idea what I could do? Thank you!
