  • NOKIA lumia windows 8 phones not supporting JAVA

Hi Nokia lumia latest windows 8 phones not supporting java. I Think its a big draw back because we cant install any java apps like Mobile banking Apps. Java apps market increasing day by day. Why nokia avoid this feature. is there any solution for this problem.

no solution unfortunately, however you may be able to try your luck with the WebApps app from the Store, and then search for your particular mobile banking website within that app.
and no, it is not Nokia that is not implementing support for Java, it is part of the Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system. if you wish to leave feedback with them, you can do so over at http://windowsphone.uservoice.com

  • Windows XP does not support Java!

I was not surprised to see the statement from Microsoft that they will remove the JVM from their new operating system Windows XP, as it is "unecessary files for the user".
This causes a huge problem for all companies basing themselves on making applets. The reason for using applets is to provide web functionality without having to download plug-ins, but now this is no longer workable.
As a solution I request that Sun should come to the rescue here, as Microsoft surely will not be helpful.
What we need is a TINY file that will replace the functionality of the MS Java for the Internet Explorer. No huge 1.3 libraries, only the most basic things needed to run 1.1 applets like the MS virtual machine could. This system should be EXTREMELY easy to install for the end user. Just one click, and only the very, very basic files needed to replace the functionality should be installed. And only for the browser, to save space.
Basically what we need is a Java applet viewer plugin for Internet Explorer, that downloads extremely fast and that has installation procedures almost invisible to the end-user.
I emphasize on TINY (no 5MB huge beast!) and EXTREMELY easy to install. I am aware there exists solutions today, but they do not follow these criterias. This would be like a Java Browser Micro Edition for applets. Also, new VMs seem to be almost in practice non-functinal running applets written for Java 1.0 or 1.1, as we have seen in Netscape 6 which can run only a few existing applets, and very poorly. Please use the 1.1. standard, this will also save downloading time.
I expect Sun to take this seriously, as an applet free web would surely void a lot of work put into this branch of Java. And as a Java developer through several years, I would not think twice leaving Java in favour of C# if Sun does not provide a web browser solution for me, and everyone else depending on applets on the net. Not because I want to, but I see no other real world functional options now.

As a solution I request that Sun should come to the rescue here, as Microsoft surely will not be helpful.<<<You are right. Sun should come to the rescue here. Sun is not only helping us, but also helping Sun itself.

I am not sure they really care there is a lot of work put into this branch of Java (sorry if I am wrong).
I just don't understand why this type of solution is not available today. Everybody (including a guy like me who is always in the dark) could see what MS would do even two years ago.
Sun, if you don't give us a solution, I will switch to C#, "Not because I want to, but I see no other real world functional options now."
Did I get somebody's attention? Could we get more people to talk to Sun?

  • Windows not supporting Java after 2004

I read in a new flash a few months ago that Windows was not going to support java after 2004. Does that mean that everything written in java for windows will no longer run. Should I be looking for a different programming language if I want to write a program for window??

It isn't an issue of support so much as an issue of MS not being able to hose the java language. This was all part of the lawsuit Sun brought against MS for having an "imcompatible" version of java in the browser. They are simply not going to ship a browser that has a java VM in it. I say this is good news, for a couple of reasons:
    1> applets suck
2> Sun will provide a downloadable (just like they do now) plug-in.
3> nobody has to deal with 1.1.4 or whatever the crappy version of java MS had written
Unless your bussiness is reliant on applets (higly unlikely) don't worry about it, Java will remain on the server side for a long time to come. However I would say this (please don't flame me unless you have experience with C# and disagree) C# is quit an improvement on Java (at least sytactically and symatics wise) if you only need to write for Windows (There is a project under way to port .NET to other platforms and C# was one of the first languages implemented).

  • 2011 MacBook Pro, 64 bit i7 quad core, upgraded to Lion OSx, Bootcamp installed with Windows 7, wanting to install Windows 8 (don't ask), tried downloading/installing bootcamp 5.0.5033, error message something similar to bootcamp doesn't support this Win

2011 MacBook Pro, 64 bit i7 quad core, upgraded to Lion OSx, Bootcamp installed with Windows 7, wanting to install Windows 8 (don't ask), tried downloading/installing bootcamp 5.0.5033 (both on the mac/windows partitions (actually using a parallel to run Windows)), error message something similar to bootcamp doesn't support this Windows
So the question is am I doing something wrong? Should I just try and install windows 8 through my windows 7 partition and see if I can use the bootcamp 5.05033. Or do I solely have to use the bootcamp to install Windows 8? I'm not too familiar with bootcamp and how it runs.

if you're using parallels and full bootcamp then you're making it 100% more troublesome for youself then it needs to be
bootcamp is running windows directly on the hardware this give full memory and cpu and 3d video game power
running windows in parallels is running a virtual machine where one can't run powerful games and the like but one can have it in a window and change fast between osx and windows
parallels as the only virutal machine (as far as I know) support not have the operating system as a file on the osx harddisk but can access a bootcamp parition as virtual machine but without the benefits bootcamps provides
it's a service parallels provide for those who want both to play games in normal bootcamp and sometimes use windows in a virutal machine
just install it like a normal virtual machine and you need not worry about bootcamp drivers and the likes
plus it would mean that the windows part would be a part of the timemachine bacup of osx
which it is not when it's in bootcamp

  • Windows Server 2003 64bit and Java 1.5.0, does it support 64bit processing?

I have search the Sun website, Google etc but I am unable to find a definitive statement as to whether Java 1.5.0 has support for 64 bit processing when run on on Windows Server 2003 64bit?
There appears to be separate 64 bit versions available for down load on the Solaris platform but not on Windows Server 2003 64bit. Is there for a reason for this?
If some one could clarify the situation it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks AMN for quick reply.
I have tried IE6 and IE7. Oracle application server10.1.2. I have developed a warehouse management s/w. I tried to open a form. I give one more info that I have two virtaul machine windows 2003 server and windows XP on Microsoft Virtual PC. Oracle application server setup is same on Virtual pC. It is working on virtual PC. I do not understand where is the problem on physical server.
    Confuguration is like this.
    1. Windows 2003 server with service pack 2 ---> Oracle Application server 10.1.2 + Java 1.5.0.7
    2. Windows XP with service pack3 ---> Oracle 10g Database
    3. Windows XP with service pack3 ---> java 1.5.0.7 as a client

    Are you being serious?
If you've done any programming in Java then I'd really have hoped you already realised it is a platform independent programming language, that was Sun's original intention when they created it ,  to be able to run compiled code on any Java Virtual Machine regardless of the platform:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_%28programming_language%29
And as for "dot net" - do you not realise that this is purely a MS Windows development framework?!!
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.NET_Framework
Just to be clear, (and I realise I'm being picky here, given that English isn't likely to be your first language), they are not "developer programs", they are programming languages or frameworks.
And for further clarification, the Mac operating system does support Java development, and does not support .Net (unless you install Windows on it!)
I can't comment on the 'mainframe' bit you're referring to without more detail.

  • Other than moving to Version 4 or 5, neither of which support Java which I need, is there a way to fix the "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function" bug I am getting in version 3.6.23?

I have used Version 4 and 5 and unfortunately neither supports Java functions that I require. I like the look and feel of 3.6.23 but there seems to be a script error on startup of Mozilla. When I double click the Icon to open the program I get "'''Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function'''" and so far haven't been able to locate the code line to fix it. I would rather not reverse Engineer the program.

This issue can be caused by the McAfee Site Advisor extension

  • Adobe AIR supports Java 7?

    Hey all,
At the time of building Native Extension for Adobe AIR, does it supports Java classes compiled with Java 1.7? If not, then what is the workaround to have classes built with 1.7?

Well, if it doesn't install in "C:\Program Files" but it will install anywhere else, it's a local security issue. It basically means that if you don't have Administration rights on your system, you won't be able to install stuff in your Program Files folder(s). This is not so much an AIR issue as it is a Windows 7 security feature (an annoying one, but still a feature). In that case it would mean Windows 7 is supported, but Windows security is preventing us from installing it there.
If it really doesn't install/work anywhere on your system then it could be an AIR issue. But, since it's working here (Windows 7 Professional), I can't really say.

  • Bootcamp don`t support my 64 bit file

    Hello
I have downloaded a windows home premium 64 bit iso, but bootcamp don`t accept my iso with the error that bootcamp don`t support a 32 bit iso file although I have a 64 bit version.
    thanks for answers

Are you sure your Mac supports 64 bit?

If it does, I'll ask a moderator move this thread to the Boot Camp forum, where more people might know why it isn't working.

  • Windows refuses to run the java.exe in my path.

    Hi all -
I'm having some problems managing Java in Windows. All my experience with Java is primarily from a Unix environment, so I'm really having a tough time solving this issue.
Windows is obsessed with using java from c:\program files\Java\jre1.5.0. That directory isn't in my path anywhere, and I don't have the problem from within Eclipse because you can specify your environment, but if I type 'java' from a command line, it invokes a version from that directory. I only noticed when trying to debug an RMI problem related to this and I started my project with "java -server" and it gave me the error:
    "Error: no `server' JVM at `C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0\bin\server\jvm.dll'."
Of course if I type in the full path to the java.exe I want to use, its fine.
I've tried just removing the directory in the hopes that it would then take a look at my path variable and find the correct version, but then I just get the error:
"Error: could not open `C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0\lib\i386\jvm.cfg'"
It's driving me mad! What do I have to do to tell Windows to give up on this directory? I've looked at the registry and it is in there about 30 times. That seems a little crazy to me, but I'm just not a Windows guy.
    Thanks
    Jason

To allow "naked" java commands, Sun places a copy of java.exe and javaw.exe in a Windows directory that's on the execution path. In 2000/XP they're in WINDOWS\system32 (along with a copy of the Web Start program javaws.exe.)
Either remove them, or place the directory that contains the wanted java.exe in the path before the WINDOWS\system32 entry - the first copy found will be used.

  • Calling Windows XP FTP Command in java

    Hi there!
Need help in calling Windows XP FTP command in java:
executing the FTP command in DOS works well, but when I tried calling it in java using Process and Runtime objects, it successfully transferred the files from remote to my local pc... but I seemed to be stuck with .exec() and cannot continue with the other statements.
I know that I can use eFTPj or Apache Commons Net .. but I have no more time to study it since I have no more time left.
Any idea or suggestion? I badly need your help
    Take care and God bless,
    MaDz

    Solution:
Better use Apache Commons Net - FTP for greater java support.

  • You may need to reinstall supported java virtual machine to load.

    Friends,
I am getting below message, when i am running PSMPPIAInstall to build the PIA.
could not find hava virtual machine to load.
You may need to reinstall supported java virtual machine to load.
I have downloaded and install jrockit present in PT 8.52 at the location d:\bea\jrocket*
    I can see java -version
    D:\psoft\PT8.52>java -version
    java version "1.6.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02)

    weblogic is installed correctly.
    kindly guide.

    Datacenter, hmm ...
I have always installed it on Enterprise or Standard edition without any issues with the software delivered from eDelivery.
But why use Datacenter, this is more to be used for virtualisations?
