Windows 10 and audio problems

Just downloaded the Windows 10 upgrade on my Envy 17. My internal Beats audio isnt working. Although the sound on my wireless hedphones works just fine. Are there updated drivers required for the internl sound? I have not tried printing or scanning as of yet, should I expect problems in that area as well? Thanks

same problem here, I have a NuForce USB DAC for my Computer, everytime i boot my computer, the output source shifted to my LED Monitor{HDMI}, though I have set the DAC as default. I did not install the Sound Blaster Cinema software! what's wrong then?

Have you tried the following?
Adjust monitor settings? i.e. contrast/brightness
Video settings within the game? Some have gamma or brightness settings.
Gamma correction in "Display Properties"?

MIDI and Audio problems

1. The MIDI problem............the only way to explain this is by an example. I recorded something from my M-audio axiom keyboard, just something simple like a c major scale. Then i saved it reopened it then i played it back it now is a b major scale. If i open the matrix editor its still C but plays back in B and i must transpose it to make it normal. Never have i had this happen before. Has anyone else had this happen? How can i fix it?
Another MIDI problem is sometimes when i play back a MIDI performance it slows down and sounds like slow motion until it stops and says "sample rate 86672 recognized" i am at a loss on this one.
The Audio problem is simply that i get distortion in my recordings but none of my preamps clip. i can even have the gain half of what i would normally set it at, and it sounds distorted.

Possibilities...
There's a (now common) bug that causes bogus data to appear in the Global Transpose track, all by itself, and if the data that got entered was "transpose -1", then your C-major scale will indeed play back in B. To investigate whether this is the cause, open your Global Track display and see if there's any transpose data written in there. If so, delete it and see if that changes the situation for the better.
Another common thing to happen, that's not a Logic bug, is that pitchbend data might get "stuck" at wheel=down. If Logic isn't set up to reset PB (check your MIDI prefs), then the PB data won't be corrected, and will stay "low" util you reset it manually, i.e., flinging the PB wheel/level to reset it to zero. This is probably the best explanation for why Logic will seem to "repair" itself when you reboot/relaunch, because usually upon reboot/relaunch Logic sends out reset messages for things like PB.
As to the sample rate thing, I take it that you're recording at 96K? Or maybe 88.2? If so, you have a clocking problem somewhere.

Msi k8n neo plat and audio problem

got me a msi k8n neo plat, great board but have a few minor problems that i have noticed. one is the audio problem i have- when i listen to winamp, and surf, i will loose my winamp connection surfing, and then have to start winamp. is this a bios thing, or nvidia platform or chipset problem?

Bluetooth problem in ideapad s210 touch windows 8.1 and audio problem

Hi .. i have lenovo s 210
i have a problem with audio output, the sound is muted and it said that my bluetooth audio device can not be started. i download realtek High definition from the support system and the audio system start working again. But when i check the device manager the bluetooth problem still not fixed. It said i had a code 10 problem. I just recently update my windows to 8.1, but before there is no problem with the audio... and recently i find out that i can not use my bluetooth too. and all the bluetooth system seems doesn't work out
what should i do??

Actually, I solved this issue myself after a while.
I induced a system restore prior to the date when I began to experience this error.
It then happened once more, so I went to the "PC Settings" menu and selected "Update and recovery".
There were apparently updates to be installed, so I clicked "More details/information", and found that there were 3 Intel-related drivers that were listed, but for some reason, Windows 8 didn't automatically install them, so I checked each one of them and proceeded to install them and it has been smooth sailing for me ever since that.
SO.
A piece of advice for all those who have experienced the issue I detailed in my former post:
Check what updates need to be installed on your computer in the "PC Settings" app thing, and see if there are any driver-realted updates (like for your graphics card, especially).

Windows 8 Audio Problem

Hi all,
I've just installed Windows 8 on my macbook pro 13" early 2011, and while everything works perfecly, my audio does not work at all. The drivers are installed, supposedly, but when I check the device manager, it says that the drive could not be started. Tried to reinstall the bootcamp drivers, so I downloaded the package for my macbook from the official apple sites, but that did not solve the problem. I also tried finding a solution here, but the answer were not working for me. Did anybody got this working?

Here is a link to The HP Support Assistant. The HP Support Assistant will help with the updating drivers if needed. After an update sometimes you need to check to make sure all the software and drivers have been updated. Restart the computer after the update has been completed. USB and audio problem on a 975x P PU editon

Hello all,
I would like to say first off that this is my first build so please go a little easy on me. I am computer literate and i ave searched around trying to find the answers but for some reason they elude me. I am a Apple person at heart but when it comes right done to it windows is better for the HTPC side of things (not to mention the room mate agreed to pay for most of the computer). The specs are in the sig but if anything else is needed let me know.
I am having problems with the USB ports on the motherboard and the front of the case. I have the Antec P150 which has a connector for the front 2 USB prots. They are pinned out as follows:
pin 1: USB Power 1
pin 2: USB Power 2
pin 3: Negative Signal 1
pin 4: Negative Signal 2
pin 5: Positive Signal 1
pin 6: Positive Signal 2
pin 7: Ground 1
pin 8: Ground 2
pin 9: Key (no pin)
pin 10: Empty Pin
The motherboard is:
pin 1: VCC
pin 2: VCC
pin 3: USB0-
pin 4: USB1-
pin 5: USB0+
pin 6: USB1+
pin 7: Ground
pin 8: Ground
pin 9: Key (no pin)
pin 10: USBOC
Now the problem is kinda weird as the ports seems to work just fine if the USB thumb drive is plugged in, then i restart the computer. But if i start the computer up and then plug in the thumb drive i don't get any popup. In hardware manager it sees the thumb drive but it has a yellow "!".
The front Audio is somewhat the same way. I know the connection for the audio on the motherboard is HD and my front port are not. The pin setup for the case is:
pin 1: Mic
pin 2: Mic power
pin 3: Ground
pin 4: Front right
pin 5: Front left
pin 6: Rear right
pin 7: Rear left
On the motherboard it is:
pin 1: Analog port 1 - left channel
pin 2: Ground
pin 3: Analog port 1 - right channel
pin 4: Active low signal (unused for me i believe)
pin 5: Analog port 2 - right channel
pin 6: Jack detection return from front panel (jack 1)
pin 7: Jack detection senseline
pin 8: Connector Key
pin 9: Analong port 2 - left channel
pin 10: Jack detection return from front panel (jack 2)

Right now i have it connected and i can get audio from headphones plugged in but only from the left ear.
I believe I have the correct driver and stuff installed but if anyone has some suggestions please try to post instructions/links to instructions/or links to drivers you think i might need.

Thats the thing about the USB. I don't have a wire or anything going to the 10 pin. It seems like it should just be a matter of connecting the block and being done with it. I don't get why it is not working.
As for the audio. I will messa with it a little more but i don't really much care it is works or not. While it would be nice I don't really plan on using it.

SOME EXTRA INFO: I have been messing around with this and it seems like my USB ports are not working at all. after booting up. As long as i have the USB thumb drive plugged in when i boot the computer i can see it (in the front or back panel) but as soon as i pull it out and try ot put it back in then that is when nothing happens.
So i guess it is not really a connection problem as the front USB do work but only when the thumb drive is plugged in when the computer is booted.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Movies and Audio Problem - PLEASE HELP!!!!!

If I am working on the music for a movie file i sometimes open a new project with no global tracks, so as i can focus on the music, when i then choose to open the movie and see what the music sounds like with the movie all is fine..... until i stop the movie. If the movie is not playing or doesnt have the volume slider raised high (on the movie window), no sound is heard when i press a key on my midi keyboard. This means i can only come up with ideas when the movie is playing. If i close the movie and/or the global tracks, the problem remains the same. I have to close logic an reopen it in order for me to hear any sounds (audio tracks and midi). Any advice or help would be great as this is really frustrating me. Thanks, Ben

I use Logic Plug ins and Korg/Steinberg plug ins. I have a multi instrument set up in my environment for an external Korg Trinity Keyboard. It is no longer connected as it was too difficult to control program changes etc and recording in audio takes too long for me. This many be the problem??? Maybe i could remove the multi and see if this helps. I am thinking of re-connecting the Korg to my computer but am not sure if it will cause more problems. Any advice? Thanks... Ben

Windows 10 Audio Problem Fix

When I installed Windows 10 I had no audio whatsoever. I was looking online for a solution until I finally found one that helped me. I hope that it will help someone else as well. Go to Control Panel>System and Security>System and to the left, click on Advanced System Settings. Once there, go to the Advanced tab and under Performance click Settings. Then, click on the Advanced tab and under Virtual Memory, click Change. Now all I did was uncheck the Automatically Manage Paging File Size for All Drives and check it again, but if that doesn't work I heard unchecking Automatically Manage Paging File Size for All Drives and selecting Custom Size and setting both the Initial Size and Maximum Size to 3072 should solve the problem. Hope this helps! (My audio driver was a Conexant SmartAudio HD - Version:10.0.10240.16384)

Movie and audio problems on the classic

I just bought my first Ipod (a 160gb classic). I had a couple movies and a lot of music videos already on my hard drive, all of which I legally own. Some transferred to Itunes and some did not. My first question is how do I get the ones that didn't transfer to do so.
Secondly, of the ones in i-tunes almost all would not transfer to the ipod. (The message would read "this item was not copied because the audio format/file type is not supported by the Ipod 'administrator's ipod'"). I hit the "Advanced" and "Convert Selection for Ipod" options. Some transferred to my ipod okay while others still will not transfer, even though they were allegedly synced. Why?
And thirdly, of the ones that did transfer to my ipod, some are fine without any problems. But with others the video works okay but there is no audio. How do I fix that?
Any help that can be provided would be GREATLY appreciated.

Quicktime or Quicktime Pro (both of which iTunes uses) does not convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.

You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.

First of all, I would like to compliment you on delivering the excellent new MacBook Aluminum series. As someone converted from the PC camp (no less by your expensive and convincing "PC vs Mac" marketing campaigns) , I was delighted how great life is on the Macbook and Mac OS.
However, life on Vista/XP is another story altogether. While I love to do EVERYTHING on Mac, you have to admit there are a lot of times I have no choice but to do my computing on Windows (eg. gaming and many sites still support only IE). Below are the Vista "show-stoppers" i encountered while using Bootcamp/Vista.
Note, I do understand where Apple's priority is in terms of OS support, but the very fact is that you spent so much money converting PC users to Mac (mainstream advertisement and such) so I think you are obliged to meet the expectations you set. Also, many users like me are paying a premium over similarly-spec Windows notebook. So I think it's only right that as customers, we request that you fix these "show-stoppers" which make Macbook unusable under Vista ( which contradicts your advertisement marketing claims...else sooner or later, someone else will be frustrated enough by the issue to raise a class action lawsuit. Won't be me though cause that's too troublesome but it probably will convince me not to do make my desktop switch to iMac ).
1) Multi-Touch BSOD under Vista
I've consolidated some forum complaints below to illustrate how widespread this problem is. Frequently, the dreaded BSOD pops in out-of-the blue while I am not doing anything particularly complex on Vista. The same message always appear that the problem is caused by "applemtp.sys". This is with latest MTP drivers and even disabling the "Apple Multi-Touchpad Mouse" under Device Drivers. I am at a loss what to do here cause it seems that the only way out is not to use the touchpad in Windows !

2) Audio Crackling/Disappear
Again, I've consolidated some threads below.
Many users hear cracking noises under Vista, when playing MP3, streaming internet audio and gaming. My experience in gaming is that 80% of the time, the audio will be killed halfway in the game. I've got many titles(WoW, Battlefield 2, Last Remnant, COD 4..etc) so the problem is not confined to one title/publisher. Online research speculation believes that this is DPC-related issues due to Broadcom driver but I think the other part is also due to Keyboard Manager in Bootcamp. Even the audio driver itself may be an issue.

Application switching/windows and titlebar problem

Hi,
Apologies if this isn't the best place to post this, but it's a problem that relates to switching between applications in OS X, and I haven't yet found an answer through Director forums.
So... I am working on a (cross-platform) Director project that has to link to and open Word DOCs. I have a problem in OS X whereby when a DOC is opened, the Mac does not seem to be switching properly into Word. What happens is: click thumbnail (running handler to open DOC, using Buddy API xtra); Word starts to open the DOC; DOC window appears in front of projector Window, but the Mac titlebar seems to 'stick' in the projector. I can edit the DOC, use keyboard commands to save etc., but no menus are visible due to the 'ProjectorName.osx' title bar. I can switch to Word with Apple-tab, but not by clicking in the Word window(s).
A few extra notes:
• The projector resizes the screen to 800x600, but even with this feature disabled the problem persists.
• There appears to be a very strong link between creating a Full Screen projector and whether the problem manifests itself or not. All projectors created with Full Screen checked now have the problem (along with a few non-Full Screen). Unfortunately I need to lose any title/menu bar, therefore need to use Full Screen projectors.
• The problem has just arisen; essentially identical projectors (ie. differences are only in graphics) have run OK.
• We have used a couple of different xtras to open the files, for reasons unconnected with this issue. However we have been using BuddyAPI for a while, so I am reasonably sure that the problem is not related to this.
• Ensuring that unnecessary apps are closed, to ensure plenty of free memory, makes no difference.

That service is not important for a SAP system.

it is not supported to make changes to a domain structure after you installed the system (see the given note). That's why your SAP system is not coming up, all filesystem-, registry and user permissions are invalid.
The only way to resurrect your system is to reinstall it.
Configure first the operating system (as standalone or in a domain) - and then install the SAP system, not vice versa.

I'm tryng to share folders from an 10.8.3 imac to users in my LAN (using bot mac and windows) I'm having this problem:
1) Mac users can access the share using afp:// but
when they create new folders the permission are: drwxr-xr-x so no other can write those folders
2) PC users can access the share using smb:// but
when they create new folders the permission are: drwx------ so no other can read/write/execute
all user belong to the same group and the shared folders are owned by that group
I have create a file /etc/launchd.conf with umask 002 reboot but nothing has changed
I THOUGHT THAT MAKING SHARES IN MAC SHOULD BE EASY BUT IT SEEMS SOO HARD :-)

OS 10.4.11 and Audio Problem

I've just installed the update on my intel imac and now I have no audio - no audio in or out recognised in the preferences. The system profile still says that the inbuilt speakers/mic exist but preferences can't see them and the volume is greyed out.
Also, if I access the volume in the menu bar it just vanishes.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I too have been having problems. And they are getting worse.
Near as I can tell, the computer is messing with the internal/external speakers "switch". The 2.5mm jack port glows red intermittently, corresponding with the sound/no sound jumping. Since I have not touched my port in a few days, this is clearly not a physical switch problem.
Let's hope someone finds a fix, fast. I do not like having to spend scads of money on a new computer only to have it break faster than a PC in less than 15 months.
