Windows 10 broke scan feature

Installed Windows 10. Scan does not work. Printer default was changed to a Microsoft printer. I switched back to the HP 2510 Deskjet. I can pirnt and other features work in the HP Printer Assistant except for the scan. Also when I press the Scan button on the printer I get the follow error message. I went to Device Manager, Printer. I clicked to update the driver and It said the driver was up-to-date and was working properly. I disabled the printer and then enabled it. I can print fine. No scan function anymore.

I should add that I ran HP Print and Scan Doctor. It went through all the steps, having me also unplug and replug everything. At the very end I got this error message per the image:

We can try to update the driver for your scan and fax and meanwhile, we can contact the manufacturer to update the firmware of your device.
Also try to repair the Fax and scan components by turn off and turn on in Turn windows features on and off:
If the issue persists, please help to upload the event log here for further research.

Scan feature on 8600 All-in-One won't work

My scan feature on my 8600 stopped working. It was working fine last week. It prints and faxes fine. When I try to do a new scan, my laptop says it is trying to establish connection. But a connection is never established. So the scan fails. I'm running Windows 8.1. I use the scan feature regularly for my job. So I need a quick solution or unfortunately I'm off to buy another printer. Thanks.

"Could not complete scan" error when using Windows Fax and Scan

"Could not complete scan" error when using Windows Fax and Scan with a HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus All-In-One network printer.
Printing is fine.
When using the HP Scan application, get the error "Scanner communication cannot be established".
When scanning from the printer itself it fails with the same message. In addition the printer panel displays the error:
"The scan could not be completed due to one or more of the following issues:
Connection to the computer is lost
The scanner is in use
OCR application is not installed"
My PC is a HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF 64bit, with ethernet cable to the router and ethernet cable to the printer
Originally ran Windows 8.0; recently upgraded to Windows 8.1.
Older separate Netgear router and modem was replaced with a newer Netgear Router/Modem, but both experienced the same problem.
There was no problem with the original Windows 8.0 configuration and only after upgrading to 8.1 did the problem emerge.
On my home netowrk I have an HP ProBook 6550b running Windows 7 sp1 that uses wireless to get to the Router, and it has no problem with scanning.
I have followed the recommendations of a number of articles relating to this issue (including: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02915410&product=4323659#N94), but there has been no change in behaviour.
The printer has a static IP address;
Power settings have been adjusted to Never for Turn off Hard Disk; Sleep and Hybrid Sleep.
Scanning has been tested with all firewalls and antivirus turned off and in Selective Startup.
The printer has been plugged directly into the power socket.
With all these settings the Windows 8.1 cannot scan while the Windows 7 laptop with wireless to the router has no problems.
Appreciate any insights into this problem.
I can only surmise that the problem is a compatibility problem between the 8600 Printer and Windows 8.1.

You can determine if there is compatiblity between the printer and PC by checking the Windows 8.1 hardware compatibility list. I have done that and it is shown to be fully compatible. If the driver you installed before was only the basic driver,it would explain the lack of scan and copy functionality.
Download and install the Windows 8.1 full feature driver and software on the HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF 64bit PC .

You have to scan from its software
Scan by using the HP Scan software (Windows)
Use the HP Scan software to initiate scanning from software on your computer. You can save the scanned
image as a file or send it to another software application.
1. Load the document on the scanner glass according to the indicators on the product.
NOTE: For best results, load small-size paper (Letter, A4, or smaller) with the long edge of the paper
along the left side of the scanner glass.
2. Click Start, and then click Programs (or All Programs in Windows XP).
3. Click HP, and then select your product.
4. Click HP Scan, select a scanning shortcut, and then adjust the settings if necessary.
5. Click Scan.

SCAN Feature - Clarification

Have a confusion in the output of v$configured_interconnects in Oracle 11g Release 2
I am having a 2 node oracle rac configured and using the SCAN feature with 3 SCAN VIPs.
SCAN VIP 1 is configured in Node 1 and SCAN VIP 2 & 3 are in Node 2.
From Instance # 1 the output of the query "Select Name, IP_Address from V$configured_interconnects" looks like this.

Public          100.101.21.21 (Physical IP Node 1)
Public          100.101.21.56 (VIP Node 1)
Public          100.101.21.58 (SCAN IP 1)

I recently purchased an hp photosmart d110a. i cant get the scan feature to work. help!

i recently purchased an HP Photosmart D110a. I am using Windows 7 32 bit, SP1. I am direct connected by USB cable. While Print and Copy work fine, the Scan feature (Scan to PC) does not, always returnining the meesage "Try Scan from Computer. I'. I've spent 7 hours over 3 days with Tech Support and Case Manager and nothing has changed. HP replaced the device with a new one, no change. Is anybody else experiencing this problem?

You think we have this amazing ability to look at a 1000+ line program and instantly, mentally debug it? Or are willing to compile and single-step through your code to point out things that are wrong? There's a limit to how lazy you can be and expect help.
Here's a clue: put lots and lots of System.out.println()s in your code. At every stage, write out the values of variables. Look at the output as your program runs. Maybe that'll give you a clue as to what is going wrong.
Once you have narrowed down the problem to a particular statement, and you still can't understand why that statement is doing what it is doing, then post a specific question about that statement, and explain exactly what values the variables are before going in to that statement, and what comes out, and what you think should come out. Then we can explain why it's doing what it's doing.

How can I use my HP 1315 All-in-One scan features on my computer?

I am able to use the printing function from my computer but am unable to use the scanning feature on my printer. I have downloaded the Apple stuff and have searched HP (many features, including a diagnostic test, are blocked by Apple!!) and can't figure out how to use my scanner on the printer. The suggestions from Apple (web help) are not helpful in the least. I have a HP 1315 All-in-One (1310 Series) and the Mac installation disk will not work on my MacBook. Any suggestions will be helpfull. In advance, thank you!!

HT1893 I just bought a MAC and can't figure out how to use the scan feature on my RX580 HP printer. Can anyone tell me where to find this? This used to be an option that was obvious under programs with my Dell. Please someone help!

That would be a function of the driver that came with the printer. Make sure you have the latest driver appropriate to your system, either from HP or:

What is the Windows 8/8.1 Feature in BIOS?

I have tried contacting MSI support and they keep dancing around the question. I'm certain that they don't even know the answer. They've linked me webpage to the new Windows 8.1 features as an answer. They've linked me a wikipedia page on UEFI. They've also told me not to worry about it. Completely incompetent support techs. I just want to know what this Windows 8/8.1 feature is. There is so little documentation on this.

Hello pf1tarac, I don't believe that is possible. In order to create a PDF file, you would need Adobe Acrobat or some other PDF compatible product to save a scan to the PDF format.
There are some free PDF programs available. Here is a link to one of them.

Cannot make Canon PIXMA MX922 fax to work with "Windows Fax And Scan" on Windows 7, 8.1

I have Canon PIXMA MX922 multifunction printer installed wireless on iMac OS X Mavericks. It works great but there is no fax drivers for Mac. I have Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 installed on Parallel Desktop. I am able to print and scan on these machines. I can scan using "Windows Fax and Scan" and other programs including My Image Gardens but no luck with faxing. I can send faxes using print function and chosing a Cannon MX920 series fax driver. The problem is to recieve faxes. I've connected MX922 wireless and wired with no help.
Does anyone have the same problem? Any ideas?

In case this is going to fix itself in 25 hours I will check for the issue then. I'm gonna let you know whether the issues has disappeared.
But it sounds to me a little bit, like you have been expecting that behaviour? Have you? Especially within a Lab it is very confusing to have test clients which appear fully functional 25 hours after the setup has been succeeded.
I've followed your annotation and posted the log files on the Connect portal.

Z87-GD65 Enable "Windows 8/8.1 Feature" = Won't boot, Disabled = Boots up

How do I enable Windows 8/8.1 Feature in the Z87-GD65 Settings? When I turn it on, Windows 8.1 no longer will boot. (see video below of what happens) Is this because I didn't have it enabled BEFORE I installed Windows? If so can I fix this without a re-install? My C: is a 120GB SSD. I have about 12 other 3TB Hard Drives installed as well with 2 secondary SATA cards installed.

Windows Fax and Scan

Hi, My Computer is a Lenovo G50 (windows 8.1) and my Printer/Scanner is a HP Deskjet F4580 (F4580) All – in – one Series. The deskjet is connected wirelessly to my computer and prints documents OK but will not scan documents using ‘Windows Fax and Scan’. With my old computer I was able to scan documents. Can anyone help.
