Windows 10 Compatibility Issues

I want to upgrade to the new Windows 10 Operating System. Apparently, this is going to be a compatibility issue with my laptop. I have the AMD Radeon HD 7640G Graphics Card. It would seem Windows 10 doesn't like this. How can I correct this problem before the release date in July? Thanks.

  • Windows 8 Compatibility issue -

I just ran the MS Windows 8 compatibility test on my Windows 7 system... a number of programs were flagged, including iTunes.. however, the action to be taken seems vague:  a yellow caution symbol was displayed with the words, "remove authorized PCs"
What does that mean?  Do I need to deauthorize my PC before doing the upgrade?  Do I need to uninstall iTunes? (I am running v.11) And then reinstall it after upgrading to Windows 8?

Ok, no replies.. so here is what I found out....
It seems that you can have up to 5 computers authorized to use iTunes.  If one of the computers that is being upgraded to Windows 8 is one of those 5, you may need to deauthorize iTunes before the install.  Why? Because apparently the new install treats the system as a new system, so in order to keep your authorized systems under 5, it may be necessary to deauthorize before the install, then reauthorize again after the install.
Of course, if this is the only computer authorized, then no biggie.. you will end up with two authorized systems and everything should still hum along. The only concern is if you already have 5 computers authorized, then you need to use this process to ensure that iTunes will still work after the install.
Odd that iTunes would be so picky... Adobe is infamous about software activations - insisting on the product being deactivated before uninstalling and reinstalling... but no concern here about upgrading to Windows 8
Hope that helps some others that had a question about this item.
Oh, and btw.. make sure your notebook manufacturer has drivers for Windows 8 - Microsoft had stated that the upgrade from Windows 7 to 8 would be smooth and hiccup free.. but no mention of drivers. Seems there could be issues with drivers. I have a relatively new ASUS G53SW, and apparently ASUS does not have any drivers for Windows 8!

  • Windows 7 compatibility issues with Studio 8

    Hi guys,
Sorry if this question has been asked before.
I can't afford to upgrade my Studio 8, and I would ideally like to install it clean on my Windows 7 rig which is working fine.
I understand that there is an issue with Flash and Windows 7, and I would like to know what it is (and how serious), and also whether there are any other compatibility issues that would make problems for myself.
    Any advice gratefully received.

If compatibility is important to you, your best best is to run a virtual machine in your Windows 7 64-bit installation.  You can do this using Virtual PC as part of Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, or via VMWare's Player software ( http://www.vmware.com/products/player/ ).
Also just a reminder that CS5 betas are planned for later this year and Adobe typically only allows you to upgrade from the previous 3 versions (Studio 8 = CS2, CS5 will be the last version) and some of the Creative Suite applications are going to be 64-bit only(a couple products have updated FAQs stating this fact).

  • Intel Mac?  End of Windows-Apple compatability issues?

So, i'm a noob in the world of macs. when apple comes out w/ intel based notebooks and computers, will this mean you will be able to run pc only programs on the new intel macs? educate me, i've tried to research my question, and pretty much came up w/ no straight forward answer.
    -Ian

thanks for the responses. if you have anything else to add, please do so.
the main reason i bring this up, in which you can see in my other thread i posted, i'm looking to buy an apple laptop. but as a student majoring in electrical engineering, there are compatability issues. nonetheless, i'm pretty much set on buying an apple laptop, despite the issues. i will be doing what ifelix has stated, and use vpc to run any programs that i need to. and if worse comes to worse, i still have a desktop pc running windows, so i can just use that if vpc isn't working out for me.
seeing as to how i'm already writing in this post, i'm going to ask some questions:
i plan on buying a powerbook- faster, etc. but if i chose to buy an ibook, will that be able to run vpc as well as the powerbook? would i need to just throw in some more memory to get it up to par w/ the powerbook? b/c i love the design of the powerbook (a couple of my friends have one) but the ibook is like a couple hundreds of dollars cheaper.
throw in some knowledge if you can.
    thanks again

  • ICloud for Windows/Windows 10 Compatibility Issue

2 days after the Windows 10 upgrade I began to get a constant refresh of the desktop and system tray (every 2-3 seconds). Also saw a pop up stating that iCloud could not access photos due to permissions (of course I am the Admin of the machine). No control over Start Menu button (non-responsive) If flashing/refresh did finally stop, or I manually stopped it (more on that in a moment) the "Edge" application (IE replacement) errored with inability to register. Reboot with WI-FI off and system came up OK. As soon as I turned on WI-FI desktop refresh resumed. sfc attempt did not clear issue. Repair of iCloud (version 4.1.1.53) did not clear issue. Completely uninstalled iCloud for Windows, and problem ceased. Laptop booting OK on Wndows 10. Apple/iCloud site not reporting what the newest version is, so not bothering to try a new install. It would appear there is a compatibility issue with Windows 10; would be interested if any other users have experienced same.

Just picked up your message via a search.  Yes - I have exactly the same problem that you describe.  Have tried changing permissions but when re-starting after close down the same message appears again and PC goes into meltdown.  As you, have now  managed to delete iCloud and all working fine.  This is on my desktop PC.  Oddly I have another machine (laptop) and this problem has not occurred and iCloud not affecting Windows 10 at all!

  • Windows 8 compatibility issues

The last upgrade to itunes on my windows 8 pc has caused issues with itunes.  It takes 10 minutes to open.  Once open and you hit prefrences or any other option another 5-10 mintues to open.  I just bought a windows 8 pac 3 months ago, had no issues until the last upgrade.
Does anyone know what's going on, I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, based on a bunch of recommendations out there, but nothing works.

    Try the following: Locate iTunes.exe
Right Click > Properties > Compatibility
Check 'Run As Administrator' > OK.

  • I Tunes for Windows 7, Compatibility Issues

When I try to download I Tunes it states it has downloaded successfully. However, I have no sound when I am in this application. In addition, when I try to open I Tunes I get the message that it has been set to a previous version of Windows, and for best results I need to turn off compatibility mode before opening I Tunes. How do I do that? Can anyone tell me how I can download this program successfully? It has been very frustrating as it appears to not be compatibile with Windows 7.

However, I have no sound when I am in this application. In addition, when I try to open I Tunes I get the message that it has been set to a previous version of Windows, and for best results I need to turn off compatibility mode before opening I Tunes. How do I do that?
With that, let's first try the suggestions from the following document. *(Make sure that all of the boxes in the Compatibility tab are unchecked,* not just the compatibility mode setting itself.)
[iTunes for Windows: How to turn off Compatibility Mode|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1489]
If you're still getting the compatibility mode message even though you have all the boxes unchecked in the Compatibility tab, you may have an errant setting in your registry. For Windows 7 troubleshooting advice on that possibility, see RandomBehavior's post in the following thread:

  • Office for Mac and Office for Windows XP compatibility issues?

Trying to convince a family member to make the Mac switch. She uses Office for Windows XP at work but might use Office for Mac at home. Will there be an compatibiity issues with the programs? She is a heavy Excel user and takes a lot of work home. If she has to rearrange cells and fonts and such each and every, it would drive her (and the rest of us) insane.
Any advice would be most welcome.
She is looking into either a Macbook Air or Macbook Pro. Putting Windows on the Mac is not really an option for us.
    Thanks Community!

Or I could just download the trial version and see how that works.

Thanks for putting me in the right direction, anyway!

  • Windows 7 compatibility issue with JDeveloper 10.1.3.3

I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 on Windows 7 Professional(32-bit OS).
Whenever I start JDev, I get message that the *"color scheme has been changed to Windows 7 basic"*. Again, when I scroll the development pane/structure pane/application navigator pane, the fonts appears to be broken and the problem gets corrected :
    1) When I minimise and then maximise the JDev, everything seems to be correct.
    2) When I click on the respective panes
How can I resolve it or rather get a workaround ?

  • Flash, IE 8 and Windows 7 Compatibility Issue on new Dell laptop

    Hello,
I am trying to figure out why our Flash header is not working on our boss's laptop running Windows 7.
    The specs are:
    Windows 7 Professional 64bt version
    IE 8.0.7600.16585
    Flash 10.0.42.34
One of other sites Flash header works fine, but not our main site.
The one that works is http:/www.ideachannel.com
The one that does not work is http://www.izzit.org
    Any help would be apprecciated.
    Regards,
    Don

I did'nt go line by line through the source code... but I do not see any Flash header or content on ideachannel.com, I do see it on izzit, which leads me to believe, that there may be some permission issues with the laptop. Flash and active x must be allowed through firewalls, and system, check the the Flash Global settings also, and make sure browser(s) have plugins or addons neccessary.
It also may be that the version of IE? your running is the 64bit vers.? Try resetting the IE default to 32bit see if that helps, not sure if it has changed yet but last I checked Adobe did not support IE 64bit.

  • Windows 7 Compatibility Issues

I have recently attempted to install the Blackberry device drivers and the desktop software. After installation completes on both parts, My Blackberry is not recongized, it is only detected as an unknown device under windows 7.  I have installed desktop software version. 4.6.180  per requirements  by T-Mobile. I have also tried installing the latest version of the software with no success. I have also verified that the software on the Blackberry is 4.6.180.  I am attempting the install and config on a HP  dv4-1220us with Windows Vista 64 bit Home Premium that has been upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium.  The  Blackberry configuration was successfully working under Vista.

  • Windows 10 Compatibility Issue - Intel Graphics Media Accelerator

Hi. I have been trying to update my pc to windows 10 as I'm sure many people are right now. However, after registering for my copy of it and being told everything is fine and my pc will run windows 10, it now appears I cannot. I receive a message saying: "The display manufacturer hasn't made your display compatible with Windows 10. Check with the manufacturer for support." As stated above the graphics driver is Intel Graphics Media Accelerator. Unfortunately I have been unable to find which series though. However, my issue is I cannot find any update for the graphic driver which makes my pc compatible with windows 10. I'm asking whether anyone knows anything about an update either available now, or any info such as a release date. I really hope nobody has to say this, but I'd even be grateful for someone to tell me my pc would never be compatible. Thanks in advance.

I have used the manual way of downloading W10 using the regedit etc. I then cancelled the installation due to fears my pc may crash or get stuck between W8.1 and 10 and be unable to get back to 8.1. Would continuing the installation be dangerous or is it safe to try? I was desperately looking forward to W10 and I'm now so disappointed I can't right now.

  • Windows 8 Compatibility issues (Quicktime .mov files and no MUSE)

I'm bummed that Adobe Muse appears to not be compatibile with Windows 8. I just bought a new machine with 8 on it and I am trying to get used to it. So far this is a real bummer and also the fact that Quicktime (and therefore .mov files) are not compatibile either. ANY help would be great. I may be downgrading to Windows 7 if I can't find a workaround. Recommendations?
    THanks,

Saw your original post here http://forums.adobe.com/message/4803932#4803932 and now this one.
Moved from the Creative Cloud to the Muse forum. They will be able to help you here.
An Adobe employee on the Muse team will be able to confirm whether or not Muse is Windows 8 compatible. It might be that the http://www.adobe.com/support/OScompatibility.html link is not up-to-date for Muse.

  • Windows / Mac compatability issues

I'm planning on buying a 12" PowerBook soon. (Because I just can't stand running a PC anymore). My question is this: all of the content I've purchased from iTunes and downloaded myself from my own DVD's and albums - can I transfer the files from my PC to my new Mac when I need to, or am I going to have to start over again from scratch? AND if so, what will happen to the songs I bought from iTunes?
    Thnx

When I transferred from PC to Mac I did loose my playcounts though... What I did was export my library on my pc and copy the music across the network into the Mac's iTunes library folder. This was quite difficult, but there is a Mac (now windows in beta) program that will sync your libraries, see:
    http://homepage.mac.com/oligrob/syncOtunes/syncOtunes.html
then install this on your new powerbook. It will let you sync your libraries between your two computers.
PS. what Sam the Rocker says about protected songs is true though wen you've finished you may want to use Windows iTunes to de-authorise the windows version of iTunes from being able to play your protected songs.
PPS The powerbook and iBook line may be about to go Intel in January (apparently, though this is according to mac rumor websites so may be completely wrong...) so if you can wait that long it may be a good idea.
    Hope this helps
