Windows 10 Factory Settings/Recovery Partion Question

I have a question, I upgraded my Aspire E 17 laptop to Windows 10 2 days ago. would there be a way to put my computer back to factory settings with the Acer Recovery Management no longer working. And I noticed that i have a recovery partion that is 14 GB, Would that be Window 10 in the recovery partion or Window 8.1 in that Partion

Hi BookHog92, With regards to the Acer recovery Management, you don't have to worry about it if it's not installed in your laptop or it doesn't like to work anymore; because you still can use the manual option to restart your laptop/computer to the Factory Settings; you can check this link where I did explain before how to fix this problem and for sure it will work for you as it can help all users whose using Windows 8/8.1 & 10 : Click here : How to Reset your Acer Lapotop/Computer to Factory Settings Or by following the instruction below which is almost the same : Step 1: Refresh your desktop and click on : Ctrl+Alt+Del  Step 2: Click on the power button; the menu will show you: Sleep | Restart | Shutdown : You hold the shift button on your keyboard and you press the Restart option and don't release the shift key until it open for you another window.   Step 3: Now you release the shift key and you click on Reset your PC.  Step 4: Now you click next and you will be directed to the same step of choosing which method of reset you want:   After that you choose the fully clean option to reset your PC to the factory settings however make sure before you do all this steps to copy or transfer your files to an external HDD because this operation will erase all you files and data. Best regards, Mehdi --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If i was helpful to you, please give a KUDOS is appreciated and please mark "Accept as Solution", if that solved your problem.

I attempted to update to iOS 8 and now my phone is stuck in recovery mode, and iTunes will only let me restore to factory settings.  My question: Can I restore from iTunes backup after restoring to factory settings?

    Hi, kformagg
I would say yes. I once had the same problem (iPhone 5, IOS 7) and first restored to factory settings and after that from iCloud backup.
    It worked very well.

  • 32 bit Factory Settings recovery issues REALLY CONFUSING

I accidently download some loaded stuff from time to time and so thus I have had to reset my toshiba 3 times to factory settings NEVER HAD A PROBLEM but this time when I try it it says insert recovery disk so i thought WTF? then when I went into EXTENSIVE system information reading My windows (that toshiba came with) is 32 bit (always has been) yet the recovery system is 64 bit! AND ONLY THIS TIME IS IT MAKING A BIG DEAL ABOUT IT and I was wondering if there was any way for me to change my system to 64 bit so I can reset my laptop for (hopefully) the last time. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you see a login screen when you boot. If so this is the WinRE boot disk. There should have been two of these, one 32-bit, one 64-bit. There should also be a "pure" recovery boot disk, this one will NOT have a login prompt. This is the one you should be booting from. It will display a screen that let's you select to install 32-bit or 64-bit. Have you tried recovering from the "0" (zero) key? This will also work without the login. With the machine powered down, press and hold down the "0" key, until see a progress bar appear across the bottom of the screen.

  • Restored to factory settings, Recovery mode, need to restore?? HELP!

When I connected my phone to my iTunes on my computer to do the update to iOS 7.0.4 (I think...) it said it needed to be restored to factory settings to complete the update. I clicked on it to restore, and it did the restore. It said it was restored to factory settings and it would have to restart to complete the restoration. It says not to disconnect it. Then that message disappears and a new message appears saying "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." And I'm not sure what to do, because I have tried to restore it three times and it just keeps saying the same thing. Also, when the message comes up that it has been restored and to not disconnect it, my phone screen changes to a USB cord with an arrow pointing to the iTunes symbol like it has been disconnected but the USB is still connected. Help!!!

  • Reset to orginal factory settings

I had to reset my iPhone (literally stuck) anyway now when i go to sync with iTunes, it says it can't find the phone and that I should reset to factory settings.  My question is will i lose all the data?
    Thanks

That is what resetting to factory settings implies, all data will be lost.
Assuming that the iPhone has been backed up and synced regularly as designed, the amount of data loss will be minimal.  In other words, only data added to the device since the last backup/sync will be lost.

  • Satellite A200-17O - How to restore Windows to factory settings?

    Hi
I have a Satellite A200-17O. I want to restore Windows Vista to factory settings, I do not need to back up any files. I do not have the Product Recovery CD. When I press F8 and click the "Repair Computer" option, it will give me all the options, but when I click the option to fully recover the system (the one on the bottom), it will simply open up a window telling me to back up my data, then theres an "OK" button, and when I click that, the window will simply close and go back to the options menu. All I want is to get Vista back to Factory settings.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hello
Yes, normally you can restore your notebook back to factory settings using the HDD recovery option. Therefore you should follow the instructions here:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm
If it doesnt work you have to use the Toshiba recovery disk. If your notebook didnt come with such a recovery disk you have to create it yourself using preinstalled recovery creator tool. This is mentioned in your user manual, have you checked it?
Therefore you need some blank DVDs. I would recommend DVD-R from Verbatim or TDK. Many users here have good experience with these brands.
If you have more questions, just post again! ;)

  • Few questions about reset to factory settings

    Hey!
When you reset your laptop to factory settings (HDD Recovery), does Windows get deleted too? And audio, webcamera etc?
I mean, when you have restarted the laptop, is it ready for use? Can you just use it like normal? Or do you have to install drivers and so on?
    I appreciate help.

Hello Elodie and welcome to Toshiba forum.
I will try to offer some answers:
    > When you reset your laptop to factory settings (HDD Recovery), does Windows get deleted too?
Generally speaking everything will be deleted. With other words certain partition will be formatted at first and OS (recovery image) will be installed.
    > And audio, webcamera etc?
Yes, everything. The whole partition content.
    > I mean, when you have restarted the laptop, is it ready for use?
When the recovery image installation is finished after notebook restart it will be ready for use.
    > Can you just use it like normal?
    Yes.
    > Or do you have to install drivers and so on?
Original Toshiba recovery image contains operating system, all necessary drivers, Toshiba specific tools/utilities and some additional software so everything will be installed.
If you have more questions you are welcome. ;)

  • Restoring Factory Settings: Vista, Windows, Etc..

    Hi,
Sorry if this is very obvious to you but if so, your advice is much appreciated...
I am finally replacing my Satellite C660-17J's HDD after it burnt out quite a few months ago from physical damage i think. I understand that i will need to reinstall the factory settings and some people have advised me to contact Toshiba for disks as none were provided with the laptop when i bought it a year ago. My question is, after buying the replacement hard drive, are there any further expenses? Will it cost me to reinstall Windows? To my knowledge the license is part of the laptop package so i shouldn't have to... Are there any other requirements? If so and if i do need to purchase them all again, would it basically be cheaper to buy a new laptop since i don't need anything fancy?
    Thanks...

    Satellite C660-17J (PSC0LE-01S01LEN)
..contact Toshiba for disks as none were provided with the laptop when i bought it a year ago.
No manufacturer includes recovery discs in the box any longer, Alex. You were expected to burn them. See the section Creating Recovery Media on p. 1-12 of the User's Manual (attached).
    Obtain them from Toshiba.

Assuming nothing else has gone wrong with the hardware, you should not need anything more than a new hard disk and the recovery media. The Windows restored is preactivated.

  • My iPhone will not turn on, when I plug it into my computer and load up iTunes its in recovery mode and the only option is to restore my device to factory settings. I have no back up of my phone I've also tried the home/sleep button thing but nothing

My iPhone 4 will not turn on, when I plug it into my computer and load up iTunes its in recovery mode and the only option is to restore my device to factory settings, I have no back up of my phone I've also tried the home/sleep button thing but nothing, I have literally done every method I was told, I checked for water damage and that's fine. I don't want to restore my phone or buy a new one or pay for repairs because that's wasting money when it could be a simple way to fix it. And yes, I've also tried charging it and turning it in. I really need some help with my phone

That does happen.  It depends on how hard the server is being hit, as well as the connection speed of your system.  If you are on a windows system, you will want to disable any antivirus or firewall software during the download.

  • How do I take my iPod out of "Recovery Mode" without restoring to factory settings?

    (iPod 4th Gen, Windows 7)
I hadn't synced my iPod touch for a long time, because just before Christmas, my antivirus stopped working on my laptop, and I got a virus. I was unable to do anything. Because of my circumstances, I wasn't able to get my computer back to normal until just about a week ago. During the time I didn't have access to my computer, I made a lot of purchases in the iTunes app.
Now that I have access to my computer again, I tried to sync my iPod. Since it had been a while, I needed to update it. Something must have happened during the update, but I don't know what. All I know is that now my iPod will only show the "Connect to iTunes" screen (so I can't use it at all), and when I connect to iTunes, it says my iPod is in "Recovery Mode." My purchases were not synced to my computer.
iTunes says to restore it, but I don't want to do that because I would lose all of the purchases I've made since Christmas. They weren't synced, so they would be wiped if I restored it, and only what is on my laptop would be re-synced.
Bottom line: is there a way to get my iPod to work again, without restoring it to factory settings? If not, then I spent all of that money in iTunes, and now what? I'm supposed to buy it again?
Thanks for taking the time to read this; I know it's long. I just wanted to make sure all of the details were there, because I've scoured the internet, and no one has a solution for this, other than wiping the slate clean, downloading a program from who-knows-where, with who-knows-what viruses attached to it, or jailbreaking. And those are not options.

Yu can try to use this program to get the iPOd out of recovery mode.

However, from what you describe, the iPod is very corrupted and a restore is required. I know of no way to get any ifno off the iPod

  • Need help restoring ThinkCentre A70z from windows 8.1 back to factory settings windows 7

Purchased used ThinkCentre A70z from someone and it has Windows 8.1 on it but it keeps giving me message that it isn't activated so I just want to restore to factory settings which would be windows 7 which is still in place on a partition on hard drive. I have tried f11 during boot to absolutely no success. If someone could please give me instructions on how to do this I would be so happy! Also tried searching in windows 8 for system recovery and this doesn't work either. Please help!

See if you can change the brightness by installing this software.
    HP Quick Launch Software
    File name: sp56929.exe
If that doesn't work, I won't be able to help you with that, and you should be able to adjust the brightness in the power options menu in the control panel  using the brighjtness sliders (if the AMD graphics driver successfully installed).

  • Restoring to Factory Settings | T510 4313 Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

    Hi,
I purchased a lenovo thinkpad T510 that came with only C:\ drive (having Operating System in it) and another small drive 'Lenovo Recovery'. Later, I partitioned the C:\ drive to C:\, D:\ and E:\ to organise my data in a better way.
Now, I want to do a clean (coz, some sort of www.results.gooogle-analytics.$#@%$#%@#$%.com is irritating me - guess this is a spyware and I want to get rid of it) build of the machine and revert it back to factory settings. However, when I ran Lenovo Rescue and Recovery (after taking backup of my data on those drives), I imagined the harddrive going to be merged back to original single OS drive. But, I see there are D:\ and E:\ drives are intact with data and only C: drive has been reloaded with OS. Is this a default behaviour? When it says it will restore back to factory settings, should it not wipe out the partitions as well?
    Regards,
    Kalyan

Hi and welcome to the forum!
This is normal behavior, I have tried it on my SL400. Only Recovery discs will wipe out everything and put all your partitions to factory settings.
    Hope this helps.

Are you really running Windows 98? I sure hope not. :S
I have noticed a few others with the same problem the past couple of weeks. Many of them were able to resolve the issue by doing a low level reformat of the iPod's flash storage using the instructions in this article.
