Windows 10 -problems with touchpad and two-finger scrolling

I upgraded to Windows 10, and the touchpad settings default to enable reverse scrolling direction with the two-finger scrolling. I disabled that, and it works all right.. But when I restart my computer, the change isn't saved and I have to do it all over again Is there any way to get the system to recognize the change to the settings after rebooting? I would think it would be simple, but even creating a separate profile doesn't work.

  • Problem with touchpad and Windows 8.1. Acer Aspire E5-511

I bought an Acer Aspire E5-511, but I have problem with touchpad and Windows 8.1.The touchpad (Synaptics) is not working with Windows 8.1 x64, but it works fine with Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8 x64.When I install Windows 8.1 and have to choose” language to install” I can’t choose anything with the touchpad. I should plug in my mouse to continue. I doesn’t work even when it’s fully installed and with latest driver (available only for win 8.1 x64) from Acer’s website. I tried with an older driver, but had no success. I updated BIOS, but it doesn’t work again. In hardware IDS in device manager it shows HID\… not ACPI\… (like win 7/8). Fn+F7 doesn’t help. When I try to install Windows7/8 the touchpad is working properly at the beginning (I can choose ”language to install”, “Time and currency format”… and the touchpad works after install even without driver).

SOLUTION So guys after deep research and troubleshooting I found that you need to keep notice of a few things at time of installation: Installation Mode: UEFI (only)- LEGACY would create touchpad issues. after installation of windows just follow the driver installation hierarchy 1.Intel NB_Chipset_M Baytrail-M 2.Intel I/O Driver then rest of the crap. Note:After doing all this make sure your touchpad is active >> Fn+F7 Just wished if this solution came from an acer executive , the world would have been a better place , but anyways this is what community is for. Enjoy everyone

  • Photo Booth and Two Finger Scrolling

Is there anyway to install Photo Booth or the Two Finger Scrolling features on a 12" PowerBook? Just Wondering.
    Thanks,

I think there may be some specifics here as to what 12" Powerbook we are talking about. If it's an older model, the preference setting is not available, however all may not be lost. See this link.

  • Problems with touchpad and trackpoint (Edge E430)

    Hello!
Please help me, I've tried uninstalling and installing the UltraNav drive without success.
Block trackpoint, and even use a regular mouse.
    My problem is as follows:
The Trackpoint cursor is moving alone. After disabling the trackpoint, I could use the touchpad for a normal time. Then the cursor touchpad is also moving alone. And the same happens with the mouse.
Furthermore, the lower right touchpad button does not work as secondary click. Works just like the left, a standard button click. And sometimes not even working.
Please help me! This is bothering others. I have to hold the trackpoint cursor to stop moving alone and to use normal mouse.
    Windows 8.1 64, ThinckPad Edge E430, core i5.
    Thank you!

Yeah, the only soluton is going to be if they are going to decide to refine the drivers or something like that. Tried BIOS, no luck. Problem comes and goes. Really hope they at least try to update the drivers because so many people have this issue. Yeah I had one random restart and then, it has not happened since, so I am pretty much only concerned with fixing the touchpad or getting it to work properly.

  • [SOLVED] Problem with Networkmanager and two WiFi cards

I have two WiFi cards, one onboard my laptop, one USB. I use the USB one since gets a stronger signal, but the other one tries to connect.
Is there a way of stoping that.
I don't want to cancel the possibility of using it, just when I plug the USB antenna.
    Thank you

    Thanks for the reply.
    This is what I get:
    $ rfkill list
    0: samsung-wlan: Wireless LAN
    Soft blocked: no
    Hard blocked: no
    1: samsung-bluetooth: Bluetooth
    Soft blocked: no
    Hard blocked: no

    3: hci0: Bluetooth
    Soft blocked: no
    Hard blocked: no
    4: phy1: Wireless LAN
    Soft blocked: no
    Hard blocked: no
If I try to "block" either number 2 or number 4. The WiFi disconects. It's as if they were the same card.
    Any ideas?
    Once again thank you

  • Two finger scrolling does not work on Synaptics touchpad + clicking problems in web browsers

Hello,  Since yesterday, i have problems with my synaptics touchpad on my HP Elitebook 8570w.The two finger scrolling and scrolling at the edge of the pad does not work. Also in google Chrome, all the links open in a new tab and when i try to click the new tab, it closes (normally that is the action when i click it with the middle touchpad button) Even in the practice mode of the synaptics settings of the touchpad, the two finger scrolling and edge scrolling does not work. Both options are enabled in the settings. I already tried to roll back the driver and reinstall the driver, without any effect.I expect the problem is the touchpad or the buttons itself. Is there a way to test the buttons and touch pad? How can i solve this problem?  please help me  sincerely, Karel

I would try installing the Windows 8.1 (64-bit)  Synaptics touchpad driver available in your sleekbook's web support download section before using compatibility mode.  Try the available earlier versions if the current driver does not work for you.
If you still do not have positive results, then use compatibility mode (choose Windows 8) on all three Windows 8.1 synaptics touchpad drivers, starting with the most current one.
To use compatibility mode to install the driver softpaq just right click on the file and choose troubleshoot compatibility. Choose Windows 8 and run the installer.

  • No Right-Click or Two-Finger Scroll in Boot Camp

I have had an odd problem. It looks like others are seeing this too, but I wanted to record my observations.
Recently I have begun to notice that after booting into Windows 7 Pro (64-bit), I will briefly have two-finger right-click and two-finger scroll capabilities, but then these just go away. I have tried deleting the trackpad drivers that came with Boot Camp 3.2 per what I have seen on other threads, but that makes no difference. I also downloaded and reinstalled Boot Camp 3.2/64-bit; again, no difference.
If anyone has any ideas, I would be happy to entertain them. Thanks!

Ok this situation appears resolved on my MBPro so here is my handy guide.
    1) Visit Apples Product Support Page and Download this AppleBCUpdate Windows Executable
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL874
    a) Download AppleBCUpdate.exe
    2) Visit RarLabs and Download a Shiny New Binarry of WinRAR (Demo/ShareWare)
    a) http://rarlabs.com/download.htm
    b) Be sure to get the Latest WinRAR 64x Version
    3) Visit your AppleBCUpdate.exe download location and Extract the Internal Driver Files (NOTE: This APP Will NOT Execute on a Windows 7 x64 Machine simply use WinRAR to UNARCHIVE)
    a) Right-Click AppleBCUpdate.exe, Select Extract Files Here
    b) Navigate to the New Foldier Created by WinRAR's Unarchive of AppleBCUpdate.exe (P.S. It should be named 'AppleBCUpdate')
    c) Locate AppleMultiTouchTrackPadInstaller64.exe
    * Right-Click this program and also Extract Files Here (that is use WinRAR to unarchive)
    d) Navigate to 'AppleMultiTouchTrackPadInstaller64'
    * See the Lovely Driver Files??? :B
    4) Perform a Manual Install of the AppleMTP64 (This is your working x64 Multi-Touch TrackPad Driver)
    a) Visit StartMenu->Computer
    b) (Right-Click) Select 'Properties'
    c) Select 'Device Manager'
    d) Select the 'Human Interface Devices" Tab
    * Target -> "Apple Multitouch" driver
    * Note: This Driver may say something similar like: "Apple Touchpad"
    * Tip: Make Sure it is NOT: Apple Keyboard, Mouse, IR Receiver, Wireless Mouse, Bluetooth Controll Receiver, or any of those other 'HID-Compliant Devices'
    * Once you have Determined Your Driver the -FUN- Begins
    5) Select 'Update Driver'
    a) Use the "Browse My Computer For Software" option (Manditory)
    b) Select "Let Me Pick a List of Drivers for My Software" (Or whatever it says)
    c) Select "Have Disk" Button and Point to the Location of "AppleMTP64"
    * This driver means "Apple Multi Touch Pad 64" NOTE: Do not use AppleMTM64 as that is a Mouse Driver (..and using that driver is an erronius procedure )
    d) Once the Driver is Loaded "Apple Multitouch" should be listed as a compatable Driver.
    * This is the Updated Version of the Best Working Driver
    6) Reboot and Enjoy
ATTN: I belive this problem is cause by two Factors
    1) Apple did not build an Executable for Updating Windows 7 64bit with ApplePCUpdate 1.1
    * You have to extract all the special files to get it to work
    2) Window 7 'as-cool-as-it-might-be' does not always utalize the 'Best' Driver for your system, as so prevailantly obvious for their systems.
    ALSO:
Visit: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1066 to Update your MultiTouch TrackPad for MacOSX (it may help)
Above all I have tested this workaround a little bit and it appears to be working pretty good. ("p)

  • MB Air two finger scroll does not work for a user but does for another

    Hi
    MB Air. 10.9.3.
Defective Trackpad was just replaced. Two finger scroll does not work for the main user. I made a test log in and two finger scroll works. I booted off an external drive and two finger scroll works.
I pulled all of the user preferences out, logged out and in and still does not work. Zapped PRAM. Checked all trackpad settings. No luck.
    Tried this in Terminal:
    defaults write -g com.apple.trackpad.scrollBehavior 2
    Any ideas?

This sounds strange but check the settings in Settings>Accessability for the track pad. I belive your problem lies there not in Track Pad set up in Settings.

  • Problem with two finger scrolling on s440

    Hello everyone
I have a S440 (touch version) and some Problems with two finger scrolling on the touchpad.
First, it isn't smooth, i.e.. If I move my fingers it only starts scrolling after a second or so, basically when I've already stopped (unless I move very slow). It then makes up for the lost time by scrolling very fast.
The more serious problem (that makes it practically unusable) is that it randomly jumps back up, often to the top of the page/document, sometimes just a page or so.
The problems are worst with firefox and acrobat, with IE and the Microsoft reader there's no response time problem but the jumping upwards still occurs.
The problem is there with the preinstalled Windows 8 as well as my own Windows 8 Pro (with the original Lenovo drivers). Scrolling with the Trackpoint and an external mouse work fine, as well as scrolling via the touchscreen.
Does anyone have any suggestion if/how I can fix this?

I also have a S440 (non-touch screen), the scrolling on the touchpad worked perfectly when I bought it, no jumping, and scrolling perfectly smoothly comparable to an Mac. But after an upgrade to windows 8.1 which broke many things ( despite upgrading all drivers), I reset my thinkpad which brought it back to windows 8, everything working normally again except the two finger scrolling which is no longer smooth (moves incrementally now), and likes to jump randomly up or down the page, (not always, but enough to make it irritating. I notice this mostly with google chrome and adobe reader as these are the apps I use most frequently.
So my questions is what drivers or settings do I need to bring the scrolling back to the configuration it was when I purchased my S440? My device manager says I'm running thinkpad ultranav with Synaptics driver version 16.6.4.38
    Cheers,
    Paul

  • I am using Mac running OS X Mavericks (10.9.1) and Firefox 26. Two finger scroll down is not working all of a sudden only with Firefox.

    Hardware : Macbook Pro
    Operating System : OS X Mavericks v10.9.1
    Browser : Firefox v26.0
All of a sudden, two finger scrolls doesn't work. Thats only when I am within Firefox Window. Everywhere it just works great. I got NO scroll bars at the edges of browser(Firefox) too. No way of proper browsing other than switching to Safari.
    Request to fix this asap.
    Thanks.

I'm having the same problem but what I found was the scrolling on my iMac was it works until you try and swipe to go back a page. Then the only solution is the quit the program and restart it.
Spec is an Apple magic track Pad on my iMac with OS X 10.9.
I'm currently using FireFox v25 but the same issue is in v27.0.1.

  • Windows 10 Driver for Touchpad - two finger scrolling!

Hi,  I just upgraded my HP Spectre x360 to Windows 10.  All went smoothly except that it appears to have killed two finger scrolling on my touchpad and says that the driver is invalid when I try to look into the synaptic settings.  I don't want to uninstall because there isn't a replacement driver that I can see. Is there going to be a Windows 10 upgraded driver please? Or is there a workaround? Thanks for any help. Will

I've upgraded mine, and I'm using the windows 8.1 synaptics clickpad drivers, 2 finger scrolling works, everything works like in windows 8.1. Maybe you can uninstall that driver and reinstall using the windows 8.1 you can download from the support site. Hope I helped. =)) By the way the only thing I'm bummed about the touchpad is that the 3 finger gesture for invoking task view or the desktop view does not work. Lets hope for a driver update on that one.

  • Two finger scroll no longer working in windows 7 HP Pavillian 15t- n200

Hello!  My two finger scroll on the touchpad is no longer working!  I have run the BIOS again and disconnected battery with power off for 60 sec but still not working. Please help!  Thank you so much

    Hi eg1978
Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you are having issues with your two finger scrolling. I have a couple of things for you to try. This HP document Using and Configuring the TouchPad has a section on Turning individual gestures off and on and make sure that the two finger scrolling is enabled. If that does work then reinstall your Synaptics TouchPad Driver.

  • Two finger scroll problem in Preview

When viewing a pdf with over 200 pages in Preview, for example a pdf book, two fringer scroll stops functioning periodically. In order to get it working again you have to click on the destop and then click back onto preview to get two finger scroll to work agian. Is this a limitation of the Preview app? This does not seem to be a problem with smaller pdfs.

You aren't the only one having this problem.

  • Two finger scroll problem

Hello. Today i bought a MacBok Pro and i've got a problem with the gestures. Every single gesture is working fine (one, three, four fingers and two finger click) EXCEPT the two finger scroll. I just doesn't work at all. Can somebody help?

I have exactly the same problem on my Macbook. Even the other two-finger gestures like turning pictures around in iPhoto or zooming in are working - it´s ONLY the scrolling that doesn´t work EVER. This is a pity, as it´s the most useful gesture imho.
Anyone else having problems or any solutions in sight?
Thank you very much in advance.
Oh, and if it is useful for the solution: I´m also having the click&responsiveness trackpad problems that are causing so much trouble these days.
