Windows 10 Upgrade Device Manager WD NAS Entry

Just an FYI so people are not surprised. When I rolled Windows 10 Pro on top of an install of Windows 7 Ultimate today I noticed that there is now an entry in the Device Manager for the WD My Cloud. Here is some info from the Device manager entry. Device Manager
    Western Digital NAS
        WDMyCloud-XXXX
            Location: http://192.168.1.XX:9000/TMSDeviceDescription.xml
            Driver Provider: Western Digital
            Driver Date: 4/30/2013
            Driver Version: 2.2.01
        WDMyCloud-XXXX
            Location: http://192.168.1.XX:49152/nasdevice.xml
            Driver Provider: Western Digital
Driver Date: 4/30/2013            Driver Version: 2.2.01 So far no problems accessing the WD My Cloud with Windows 10 Pro. Mapped folders to the My Cloud were carried over without issue. Haven't rolled Windows 10 Home yet onto another PC with Windows 7 Home to see if any unexpected issues crop up with the WD My Cloud under that OS/PC.

Thank you very much for the info. Hopefully the device will integrate into Windows 10 Home as smoothly as Windows 10 Pro.

I'm running Windows XP with external hard drive. When hard drive is connected, iPod will not sync and I get message stating "USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB devices had malfunctioned..."
When disconnect, iPod will sync. However, iTunes is on external drive; therefore musc is not syncing onto iPod. I've attempted the 5 R's as well as searching for iPod in Device Mananger. When iPod is conncected, it is listed in Devce Manage as "Unknown Device." Articles to solve recommend relettering device, bu how do I get it to be recognized by Device Manager?

I HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM TO THAT I JUST BOUGHT MY 30GB IPOD VIDEO ABOUT 4 HOURS AGO, SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN REALLY STRUGGLING TO INSTALL IT. A SOON AS I GOT IT, I DID EXACTLY WHAT IT SAID, I WENT TO WWW.APPLE.COM/IPOD/START AND DOWNLOADED THE NEWEST ITUNES VERSION. THEN I PLUGGED IN MY IPOD TO MY COMPUTER, AND ALL THAT HAPPENS IS A LITTLE BUBBLE OPENS UP AND SAYS "FOUND NEW HARDWARE" WHEN I CLICK THAT, IT OPENS UP, AND I CLICK "INSTALL THE SOFTWARE AUTOMATICALLY" WHERE IT SAYS IT, THEN I CLICK NEXT AND WAIT. AFTER, IT SAYS "THE HARDWARE WAS NOT INSTALLED BECAUSE THE WIZARD CANNOT FIND THE NECESARRY SOFTWARE".AFTER I WENT TO WWW.APPLE.COM TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, I'VE LOOKED THROUGH AND READ EVERY ARTICLE THAT CAN PERTAIN TO MY SITUTAION, BUT NONE HAVE HELPED ME I AM DISPLEASED TO SAY, THE LAST ARTICLE I READ WAS THIS ONE:

BUT EVEN THAT DOES NOT HELP ME BECAUSE WHEN I GET TO STEP 8 WHICH SAYS "Locate the iPod in this list. In some cases one of the entries will have "iPod" in its name. If no such entries are present, the iPod is most likely represented by "USB Mass Storage Device." I LOOK FOR WHERE IT SAYS "IPOD" OR "USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE" UNDER "UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLERS, AND CANNOT FIND EITHER THING..I HAVE RESTARTED MY COMPUTER A NUMBER OF TIMES, I HAVE EVEN UNISTALLED ITUNES THEN REINSTALLED IT I HAVE STRETCHED EVERY OPTION AND NOTHING HAS WORKED..CAN SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME??..I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM FOR 4 HOURS STRAIGHT STOPPING ONLY TO GO TO THE BATHROOM AND GRAB A BITE TO EAT..

  • Delete Multiple Windows phones from Device Manager

I attach many windows phones to Windows 7 and it is a pain to remove hundreds from the device manager one at a time.
Is there any way to remove all of them at once? Perhaps similar to how you can remove many printers using Cmd (wmic printer where "Local='True'" delete)?
Please tell me there is an easier way!

What about using a 3rd party tool ?

  • HDX 16 1370 us notebook/ Windows 7 upgrade/ Boot Manager Missing hit ctrl + alt _ delete to restart

Hard drive was going south. I replaced it with new one. The original OS was Vista but I had upgraded to windows 7 a year ago. I placed the Windows 7 CD into the optical drive and windows begin to load. I got past the point of the screen that ask for language and so forth then my dog jumped on me and pulled the power cord from the computer. I plugged the cord back in and tried to restart the process. Now the first thing that happens is I get the message Bootmgr missing hit ctrl alt delete to restart.
I do not know what to do now.
I can't get into command prompt from shift+ F10, so I am totally lost. Is there any hope??
    Thanks

Are you saying that you inserted the Windows 7 upgrade disc to boot to? Was Windows Vista already installed on the hard drive? Have you run the hard drive test in BIOS?

  • Iphone 4 won't show up in Itunes, windows, or the device manager

I've had this problem for about a month where one day my Iphone stopped syncing to Itunes. When I plug my Iphone in the phone will connect and start to charge, but it won't give me the normal options when I connect my phone showing that Windows recognizes it or show up in the computer tab. When I check Itunes doesn't show it as connected either. I've uninstalled and reinstalled  itunes multiple times with no effect and I've read up on some fixes that require the device to show up in the Devices and Printers but it doesn't show up there either. Can anyone please help me with this? I'm running Windows Vista.

For future reference, I was able to get my iPhone to show up in my iTunes by clicking on the apple icon-->about this mac--> then software update. Seem to have done the trick!

  • Graphics Card Does Not Show Up In Device Manager (Re: Installing AMD Video Drivers - Windows 8.1 (Step-By-Step Tutorial)

This tutorial is a step-by-step tutorial on how to "fix" issues of a new graphics card not appearing in Windows 8.1 Pro, or not appearing (as a device) in Device Manager, or it's not being detected by Windows 8.1.
This is the "second part" of a Step-by-Step Tutorial on how to install AMD Radeon graphics card drivers in Windows 8.1 Pro.
GRAPHICS CARD IS NOT DETECTED AND DOES NOT SHOW UP IN WINDOWS 8.1 DEVICE MANAGER
This problem can appear if the video card is not installed properly in the PCI slot and as a result the card is not detected in device manager. Check the physical connections again, reinsert the card properly in the PCI slot, check the connections (including the power cables going to the video card, and ensure that the fan on the graphics card is spinning and the card does have power and is properly seated/inserted) and then install the drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
If the video card is in fact installed properly, but the problem of the video card not being discovered/found by the operating system persists, then try these following methods below to check if this solves the problem.
    Method 1:
First, I would suggest you to run the following Microsoft Fixit to get the problem automatically detected and fixed. This Microsoft "fixit" App checks if the device is currently disabled or turned off or the driver is not installed.
Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows.
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us
    Method 2:
Sometimes, some devices in device manager are hidden due to corrupt or missing drivers.
Follow the steps below to show hidden devices in the device manager and troubleshoot accordingly.
Press the Windows key + X
    Select Command Prompt (Admin)
Type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and hit enter
Type Start DEVMGMT.MSC and hit enter.
Once in Device Manager hit the View menu and select show hidden devices.
From here, remove each instance of the AMD or Nvidia card you see as well as each unknown device. Exit Device Manager and reinstall the latest drivers you can find for your graphics card.
After you install the drivers, reboot and see if you get any different results.
If the above solved your problems and the Graphics Card is now working and is now being properly detected/displayed in Windows Device Manager:
If your graphics card is now being detected by Windows 8.1 in Device Manager, but has a "yellow exclamation" mark (or video drivers are not found or not properly installed or the device is disabled) then install the latest graphics card drivers and proceed with this Step-by-Step Tutorial on how to install AMD Radeon graphics card drivers in Windows 8.1 Pro.
    Method 3:
If methods suggested above does not help, I would recommend you to contact Apple/AMD/NVIDIA to get the latest chipset, BIOS, graphics card drivers installed properly.

  • Dc/dvd drive not functioning and not recognized in device manager after installing Windows 7 OS

I have an HP Pavilion laptop, model # dv9617nr, which was originally loaded (from the factory) with Windows Vista.  I upgraded the OS to Windows 7 a few months ago, and initially, everything worked fine.  Within the last month, however, my DVD/CD ROM optical drive stopped working and is not recognized in Explorer, and does not show up in Device Manager.  I have tried a number of fixes from this forum and the Microsoft Windows 7 forums, with no positive effect.  I should note that upon inserting a disc in the drive, everything sounds normal (device spins and the external LED lights up) but nothing happens and the unit shuts down.
I have no idea if this is a software or a hardware issue.  I did check the HP website for software and driver updates for my model and the Windows7 OS, but HP has no update for this PC running this OS.  ANY help is greatly appreciated.

  • Device Manager HP Printer ! Symbol, Windows "failed to connect" Sound- Yet Printer Works

Every startup, I hear the Windows "device failed to connect" sound.  How can I get rid of this?
I have an HP J6480 Printer with WIn 7.  Device Manager is not recognizing the printer driver.
Under Device Manager, the printer is listed with the ! error symbol.  No other devices have an error symbol.  Yet the HP Solution Center and printer work.
    1)  I have tried fresh installs of the current HP Full Feature Software.
    2) I have tried the HP Uninstall program, going through all five Uninstall programs two times.
    3) I have run CCleaner to clear registry issues.
    4) I have tried deleting the Device Manager "Officejet ! J6400 series" entry.  The Solution Center and the printer then do not work.  Apparently, Device Manager recognizes the printer but not the driver.  I have to go to "Programs", "HP", then "Officejet J6400 Series" to reinstall the software.
    5) I have tried to get Device Manager to recognize the software.  When I click on "! Officejet 6400 series",  I get the message "the drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)".  If I then click on "Update Driver" and select" Browse my computer for driver software" then click on "Browse "C:\Users\Myname\Downloads", where I have both the HP 13.0 Full Feature Sofware Software and the Basic Print and Scan Driver files, it says "Windows cannot find driver software".   If i click on "Search automatically for driver software" I get the same message.
I would very much appreciate any ideas!  Thank you!

  • ITunes gets unresponsive when I click on Podcast tab in the device management window.

    Hello,
I run the iTunes 11.1 on MacOX 10.8.5.
iTunes gets unresponsive each time I click on Podcast tab in the device management window. (when my iPhone5 is connected, running iOS7)
There was no bug before I upgrade iTunes and iOS.
    Is this a know bug?
    What Can I do?
Will this be fixed in a next update?
There is another bug, which may be related to the first one:
before, in the podcast tab of my iphone management window, I chose to sync a smart playlist. Before the upgrade, the sync worked fine.
But now, the sync seems OK on iTunes (the playlist is well displaied in my iPhone section), but I need to shutdown/restart my iPhone to get it updated on it. Othewise, I still see its content as it was before the sync.
Please notice that this playlist contains only podcasts.
Thanks a lot for any help.

  • Windows 7 64-bit Cisco Fabric/Device Manager Installer

Does anyone know if there is Cisco Device Manager Installer compatible with Windows 7 (64-bit)? I'm trying to install Device Manager onto my Windows 7 PC. this may happen on my Fabricv Manager Installer, as well. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Senthil, Horacio,
I would not recommend using a 8.5(x) client against a 8.0(x) server (the OP suggests UCCE 8.0 is used). Even though they _should_ be compatible, they usually are not.
Upgrading the server side to 8.5 is the way to go IMHO.

  • Lack of sound after Window 7 (64) installation into iMac OX 10.6.7. Tried to install driver from Snow Lepard disc (Cirrus 64).Wizard installed driver. No sound, Device Manager indicated that "driver is not installed" but also that the"device is working"

I don't know how to proceed. I didn't have sound after installing Windows 7 inot iMac OX 10.6.7 (64bit) After unsuccessful attempt to upgrade the driver from the BootCamp  file, I deleted the driver from the Sound and Game controlled hoping that I would allow me to automatically install the correct driver from Boot camp.
Now the Sound Video Game controller disappeared from the Device Manager
How can I find out which is the correct sound driver for my computer (The Speaker Properties only say:WIndows)?
How can I install it without seing the Sound and Game controller in the Device Manager?

When you say "manually download", you mean from the BootCamp File on Snow Leopard, or from the Internet.
My additional problem is that the "Sound and Video Game Controller" disappeared from the Device Manager when I removed the previous driver. I don't find the place where I can reistall the new driver.

  • Yoga 11s Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 Upgrade - Power Management Compatibility Issue

I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 on my Yoga 8.1 device. I followed the application removal instructions before upgrading, then reinstalled the correct drivers for 8.1. Everything works well except for the fact that I get a Windows warning that there is a Power Management Compatibility Issue with the Lenovo ACPI-Compliant Virtual Power Controller. Any idea how to fix this? All hardware in the Device Manager are working properly.
Thanks in advance for your help. I have BIOS 7xxx.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I have this exact same issue, but with the 8.x BIOS.
My 11S also has issues going to sleep automatically when plugged in or on battery power, as well as staying asleep more than one second when on battery power, regardless of whether I initiate sleep manually via the menu or by closing the lid/pressing power button. I figured they could be related to this, but I'm pretty sure I had the same issues before the Windows 8.1 upgrade.

  • VN7-791G all bluetooth devices like Logitech mouse not working after Windows 10 upgrade

After upgrading to Windows 10 on my 2 month old Acer VN7-791G, my Logitech bluetooth mouse could not pair, my bluetooth speakers could not pair and neither could by Nexus 7.  All these devices were working fine on Win 8.1 earlier. Under Device Manager, only the generic Windows Bluetooth, Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator and LE Enumerator drivers were showing (dated  21/6/2006).  Under Network adapters, the driver showing was the Qualcomm Atheros QCA64x4 ver 10.0.0.62 dated 18/5/2015. I checked that this model is indeed compatible under ACER's website for Windows 10.  I have also been checking the ACER drivers for Win 10 for this model but there are no new updated ones for Bluetooth. I downloaded the Win 8.1 ones and installed them but they still would not work (the Microsoft ones are still showing under Device Manager). I had to actually downgrade back to 8.1 a few days ago due to this issue but thought I would try to update to Windows 10 again hoping it would work but still no luck.  I had googled but can't seem to find a solution and suspect that I need an updated bluetooth driver for Windows 10 from Acer or Broadcom.  The Atheros website do not have any Windows 10 bluetooth drivers as well. I may have to downgrade again and try again in a few months time unless someone could please point me in the right direction. Thank you.

Yay! Success at last!  Well, I had to resort to drastic measures which I was dreading and delaying. Basically, I rolled back to Windows 8.1 Then Reset PC to Factory Setting.  This wiped out all data and applications/programs After getting back to default Windows 8.1, I tried pairing my bluetooth mouse and it worked I then immediately installed Windows 10 (from ISO file downloaded earlier) off a USB stick I chose the option for a clean install (this doesn't load any of the ACER bloatware) Once logging into Windows 10,I went into Device Manager and uninstalled all Bluetooth drivers Then I ran the setup for the Windows 8.1 Atheros bluetooth drivers as suggested - "LITE-ON Bluetooth_M 3rd WiFi 2x2 AC+ BT M.2 QCA NFA344_3.0.0.373_W81x64" I tried pairing my mouse and Nexus 7 and it works!!! For reference, here is my setup under Windows 10 after successfully pairing bluetooth devices. btw, interesting to see that the event log still reports some error about further installation just like earlier - probably indicates that the Win 8.1 Acer drivers are not 100% compatible yet.

I'm using the W540 with an ultradock and external monitors. After upgrading my W540 to win8.1 64 bit, device manager is showing an unknown device. I'm not quite sure what it is, but almost everything seems to be working fine and Lenovo solution center isn't finding any driver updates.
I did notice that the solution center hardware scan did not test the video card memory and listed that test as N/A. Video and monitors seem to be working fine though and both nvidia and intel graphics show up in device manager.
Device manager lists the device in question as follows:
