Windows 2000 requirements for LabVIEW 8.5.1 & DAQmx 8.7.1

Greetings,
I've been looking around for a detailed set of requirements for LabVIEW 8.5.1 and DAQmx 8.7.1 for the Windows 2000 platform.
So far I know I'll need Service Pack 4 and probably Explorer 6 and .Net 2   But I can't find confirmation on the last two things, and I'm not sure if there are any more.
Does anyone have a link to this information on  ni.com?
Thanks.
Patrick Allen

Thanks for the reply Denis,
I'd found both of those previously actually.  But I wasn't sure they were "complete".
I can't say 100%,  But I'm pretty sure I had to install .Net 2 on a system once before for DAQmx.  (Or maybe there was a warning...or something)
Just thought I'd try and find out as much as I could before I go and do a remote upgrade where I won't have any Internet access.

  • Minimum computer system requirements for LabVIEW 7.1

What are the minimum computer system requirements for LabVIEW 7.1?  I have a PC with the following specifications:  1.7 GHz Pentium-4, 512 MB RAM, and a 60 GB hard drive running Windows ME.  I tried installing LabVIEW on the system but kept getting the "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for this product" message.  What's the problem here?
    Thank you.

    Hi Enhan,
You're problem may be related to the OS "Win-ME".
Your system appears fine, if there is room available on the HD.

  • Should I be able to reliable automate Excel 2000 on a Windows 2000 PC using Labview 7?

I am trying to automate Excel 2000 from Labview 7. I want to open an Excel application, open an existing workbook or create a new workbook, create a new sheet, save and exit. When using the Labview 7 .vi's I can create a new workbook, etc, and everything works fine. When the case in my program for existing file executes I can start Excel but I cannot open an existing worksheet (error -2146959355). I've selected a file using the labview file dialogue just to ensure spelling, case, etc but it always fails on the "open specific workbook" sub .vi and the first error is on the output of the "invoke node".
Out of curiosity I tried doing this in Labview 6.1 and after a cursory check ev
erything seems to work ok using the exact same sequence of .vi's. I am running Excel 2000 on Windows 2000. Should there be a compatibility issue? Would using the version 6.1 vi's within Labview 7 be a clean solution?
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks for responding.
I made a little vi to illustrate the problem.
The two sub .vi's I'm including with the main .vi are simply the renamed Version 6.1 and Version 7 "open specific workbook" .vi's. The main .vi was made in Version 7. All the other sub .vi's are V 7.
On my PC (Windows 2000 and Excel 2000) when the switch is set to "Version 6.1" it consistenly runs fine, set to "Version 7" it consistently fails.
I am very stumped! I've gone so far as to copy the V7 .llb from a different installation just in case something got corrupted somehow.

  • Windows update requirements for Xerox print drivers on Windows 2003 server

Hello, We are currently deploying a fleet of Xerox MFD's across ~100 locations, and we are running into an issue installing the print drivers on some Windows Server 2003 (32bit) boxes. (both the machine specific driver, as well as the Xerox Global print driver) The print driver installs fine, but no jobs will actually print, and if you try and print a test page, an error "Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance?" comes up instantly. We have seem to have narrowed the problem down to a missing Windows update, as if we do all available High Priority and Optional updates, it starts to work fine. Does anybody know specifically which Windows updates are a requirement for the driver?  Our 2003 servers were last fully updated about a year ago, and due to time constraints, if we could just install the Windows updates that are needed it would be a big help. Thank you in advance

When Xerox dropped support for XP, they stopped adding particular files from the driver packs (probably for size reduction) because they were all included by default in every newer OS. If you install this here on any XP/2003 base machines it will work as normal. It is best to install that before the driver install, but I have been mostly lucky to have it work fine days later. YMMV

  • Minimum PC requirements for LabVIEW 7.0 Executable

I was wondering what the minimum PC requirements for a PC with the LabVIEW
    run
time engine on it running an executable that I build with LabVIEW?

That answer is going to vary greatly with the application itself. I've written big applications that require 500 MB of RAM to do all their processing. One good way to gage minimum requirements is to look at how the application performs on the development PC. Use your Task Manager to show the available RAM before you run the executable and when its running. Generally speaking, I don't recommend anything less than the hoursepower of the development PC. What I can say is that I haven't had any showstopping issues with any of my oun applications compiled by LabVIEW 7 on my PIII 800 with 512 MB of RAM and W2kPro.
Of course, there's always trial and error. I would avoid operating systems older than 4 years.

it's hard to find a driver for this accessory. are you sure it's a palm branded USB connect kit? there are other similar brands that produces this type of accessory such as belkin.
the 2k drivers has been discontinued i guess however the xp driver is still available at the palm website.

  • Windows OS requirements for MAXBD

    HI all
We are doing an ERP installation on MAXdb / windows 2008. According to note 919224, only Windows Enterprise versions are supported / required. Can someone confirm that we cannot install on Windows 2008 standard??

This is not a question of whether or not you can install the software.
In fact, you can even get the ECC 6.0 with MaxDB running on WinXP.
The point is: you won't get any support for this - or at least we (support) will tell you to install a supported operating system and reproduce the error.
But the Windows Enterprise license really should be the smaller part of the project budget...

  • Which Edition of Windows is required for using SQL 2012 Always On Availability Groups

I want to use the new feature of having 2 secondary mirror replicas. the first secondary replica will be sync the second one will be async.
Currently I have SQL Enterprise license and Windows 2008 R2 Standard license.
Will I be required to upgrade to Windows Enterprise license to use Always On? (since this feature depends on Windows clustering?)
Can you please confirm if SQL Always On feature can be used on Windows 2008 R2 standard or not?
    MSDNStudent Knows not much!

Always On is available with Standard Edition but it supports only 2 nodes.
AlwaysOn is a bigger umbrella which covers two features. AlwaysOn Availability Groups (AG) and AlwaysOn Failover Cluster Instance (FCI).
FCI for 2 node is supported. You can't use AG feature in SQL Server Standard Edition

  • C API version required for LabVIEW FPGA 2011

What is the verison of the C API that will work with LabVIEW FPGA 2011?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I would guess this one: http://www.ni.com/download/fpga-interface-c-api-2.0/2616/en/
The version numbers appear to start with years in 2012.  This is the highest version I could find before 2012 and it was released in August of 2011.  That time coincides with the annual NI Week festivities where a large portion of the software/hardware is released.  It's a small download so it shouldn't be difficult to download and try it out.
But, you'll still need LabVIEW for FPGA development according to this white paper: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/9036/en/

  • HT5634 What type of windows is required for bootcamp?

i do not no if i use the system builder or upgrade or oem

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you haven't got Windows, you have to purchase a System Builder or full version. You can get them at Amazon or NewEgg. System Builder is cheaper but you can only use it in your Mac. However, with a full version, you can use it in one computer, but then you can use it in another computer if you remove Windows from the Mac.
The upgrade version is only for users that already have Windows installed
