Windows 2008 R2 - Unable to add additional adm files + error: Objects.reference

I am running a Windows 2008 R2 Terminal server with Zenworks 10 on it. I am
trying to create a windows policy group for it, but when I go to add the MS
office adm files, they never add. If I run gpedit.msc locally, I am able to
add them. Also when I am done editing the policy before the upload I get
the following error:
Objects.reference not set to an instance of an object. at
novell.Zenworks.PolicyHandlers.WindowsGroupPolicyP lural.GPHelper.ExportGPSettings()
I have everything patched, any help would be appreciated.

I don't want to go into the "Why's" too much, but these intermittent
issues were seen prior to ZCM 10.3.0
The decision was made to Remove Support for the 64-bit Platform for
modifying GPOs. This was added to the documentation and the ZCC was
supposed to block you. For some reason, the ZCC does not block you but
starting in ZCM 11 it does. So technically there is a bug that it does
not block you.
There are also on-going plans to correct the 64-bit Platform support but
I do not know when that will happen. At this point, I don't think
adding the support back in is planned in any of the minor point updates.
There should not be any reason why editing the GPO on a 32-Bit machine
would not work on a 32-bit machine.
Oddly, it seems to work most of the time from 64-bit Operating Systems.
I have never had an issue with 64-bit Operating systems until I tried it
with ZCM 11 and I was blocked.
This led me to research the issue where I discovered the details above.
Since many ZCM 10.3.x customers may have never had an issue and will not
realize it was not supported until they get to ZCM 11, more calls may
get generated to increase the priority of the issue but at this time I
would not expect a quick addition of 64-bit OS support for editing policies.

Sorry for inconvenience casued. As per our latest investigations, We found that this is a  bug in WBAMDIN UI while adding a new disk to WBADMIN Backup schedule.
But you can accomplish your requirements by using WBADMIN Command line. We have verified this scenario works fine
Steps you need to do are:-
    1)      Use command line or UI to create backup schedule with a disk as backup target.
    2)      Detach your first disk
    3)      Use WBADMIN Command line for adding another disk to schedule.
    Sample Usage:-
    WBADMIN ENABLE BACKUP -addtarget:{aa123d14-bba0-1dd9-0d93-80aaaa6bbb63}
Note that AddTarget parameter takes disk ID which can be got by running “WBAMDIN GET DISKS” command.
Please try out above steps and revert if you need anything else.

Hey , Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you're getting the error 'Unable to add print driver hpfax1, error code 87' when installing your HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer on your Windows 7 computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this install issue. Thank you for including all of the troubleshooting steps that you have completed prior to reaching out for support. At this time I am going to walk you through some additional software and driver troubleshooting steps. Please follow all of the steps below.  If you're using your HP Laserjet through a USB Cable connection, please disconnect that cable now.  Step one: Remove Driver: 1. Click on your Start menu 2. Select Control Panel 3. Select Programs and Features 4. When Programs and Features opens a list of programs installed on your computer will populate. Click on the 'Installed ON' tab at the top to change the date so the recently installed items show at the top. This will make it easier to manually locate the three HP Laserjet items you need to uninstall.  5. • Windows 2008 Failover Cluster - Cannot add a generic service

Trying to add a generic service in a failover cluster.
Select the option Services and Application and it opens the wizard and then displays the error "An error was encountered while loading the list of services. QueryServiceConfig failed. The system cannot find the file specified"
The cluster validation wizard completes successfully. Permissions do not appear to be an issue as this account can seemly do everything else so I am at a loss to understand why this API is failing when it tries to query the server for services information.
Having searched the Internet the only thing I have found was someone posting a similar issue in the Greek language Technet forum(if I recall correctly) and their comment was they rebuild their cluster.
Windows 2008 (SP2) x64 two node cluster running a non-Microsoft database. We need to add a non-Microsoft Enterpirse backup solution and this is their documented method (adding it as a generic service) - both bits of software are from big vendors.
Symantec AV, but have tried with that disabled so don't think it has anything to do with that. Something is stopping the API from reporting back but I can't find what.
Really appreciate some help before we have to log a chargable call with Microsoft support
    Thank you

  • Unable to add additional photos to shared photo stream, not updating on iOS devices either.

I am sharing photos from a vacation with family and I am not able to add additional photos to the photo stream. I set it up in iPhoto on my Mac. I think it originally tapped out for some reason because I hit a daily limit for number of photos uploaded. I had about 440 photos in the photo stream. I went and deleted some photos and now have 350 but the iOS devices haven't dropped down to that number yet. When I manually drag a new photo to add to the photo stream it doesn't add. Any thoughts on how to correct?

I turned off photo sharing in iphoto and then turned it back on and that resolved the issue.

    to database,

I can.  This is a bug you are seeing we will have fixed in a future release.  You are working in a "Local" form (not an online form) and that "Add submit button" should not be shown at all, that is only for an online form.  If you move your form online when signed in, then it would have a Submit button automatically in Web View and in Page View would be able to be turned on and off.

  • VM windows 2008 Cluster on Hyperv 2012 Server FC Disk error after Live Migration of the active VM Cluster Node

Deployed a 2 nodes Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Failover Cluster on a HyperV 2012 Server cluster deployed on IBM HS23 blade.
Disk susbsystem is IBM Storwize V7000. MPIO driver installed plus IBM DDSM.
Lun presented to the VM are connected with Virtual FC Adapter and everything works fine in the cluster until we start a live migration of the VM which hold the cluster disks online.
After migration complete positively, at the moment the MPIO of the migrated VM goes crazy with a lot of errors (source: mpio eventID 16 ) and warnings (source: mpio EventID: 17) in the system event log. After that the disks becomes unavailable.
Consequently everything hangs until power off the migrated vm, so the services on the cluster switchs on the second node.
I try to set the registry key HKLM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Disk\TimeOutValue to 190 as i found on various articles but nothing seems to change....
    Any idea?

I have researched and found out that there was an issue with 64-bit systems not being able to create a Windows 8 x64 catalog file.
So I created a Win 7 32-bit OS, and installed WAIK on there and tried to create a catalog for the same OS version.
    I get the same error....

    Hi,
What is the version of your SIM installed?
Please refer to the following article Windows Image Files and Catalog Files Overview.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh825092.aspx
It shows that x64 version of SIM only supports x64-based system.
Please refer to the following thread similar to your problems.

Please take the following steps for troubleshooting.
    1. Make sure your account are the administrator.
    2. Check if you have the full control of .wim file.
    3. Check the versions of your SIM and image as mentioned.

  • Download Helper, even with paid converter upgrade, gives "Invalid Capture File" errors and will not record audio, with "File Creation Error - Unable to rename/copy audio file" Error.

Download Helper Screen Capture worked to capture video if the default "no audio" option is active. But, no audio. The "speakers" or "microphone" audio options are confusing....the audio to be captured is from the video, so what do you choose? With either "speakers" or "microphone" selected, the captured file has poor audio and no video. Re-capture efforts (speakers) get "Invalid capture file error" and "File Creation error- Unable to rename/copy audio file"
The paid upgrade of "Converter" doesn't work.
Instructive documentation - not very good.
Suggestions - Need time delay between initiation of "Record" and starting the video to be recorded.
Could use timer tracking of the record process.
Are there operating system limitations? (Have Windows XP Pro)

That is an issue for the developer of that Download Helper.

  • Exchange 2013 Window Backup failure - fails to clean up log files - error FFFFFFFC

    Hello,
We currently have an Exchange 2013 - Exchange 2007 coexistence setup.
    1x Windows Server 2008 R2 with Exchange 2007 CAS/HUB
    1x Windows Server 2008 R2 with Exchange 2007 MBX
    1x Windows Server 2008 R2 with Exchange 2013 CU 3 (all roles)
Since our current backup solution (Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3) does not support backing up Exchange 2013 CU3 databases, we are using the builtin Windows Backup feature to backup the Exchange 2013 CU3 databases.
This has functioned for a while, until all of a sudden, the log files are not cleared anymore, causing our log disk to fill up.
Our Exchange 2013 server looks like this:
    C: Windows + Exchange installation
    D: Databases
    E: Database Log Files
    F: Archive Databases
    G: Archive Database Log Files
    S: Dedicated backup volume
The backup is scheduled to run every day at 21:00 hours, performing a full VSS backup of D:,E:,F: and G: to the volume S:
Windows backup log says the backup completed with exceptions, leaving the Exchange logs untouched and filling the drive.
The Windows Backup Command Line tools are NOT installed since they are not compatible with Exchange 2013.
In the eventvwr we can see the following error:
The Microsoft Exchange Replication service VSS Writer (Instance a33ec440-7f12-4c50-806b-1bc5ceaf8aad) failed with error FFFFFFFC when processing the backup completion event.
The command VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS displays the following:
    Writer name: 'Microsoft Exchange Writer'
       Writer Id: {76fe1ac4-15f7-4bcd-987e-8e1acb462fb7}
       Writer Instance Id: {cf84a907-76dc-428c-90e0-c18a3f9db493}
       State: [1] Stable
       Last error: Retryable error
Restarting the Microsoft Exchange Replication (MSExchangeRepl) clears the writer error, same with a reboot, however the error comes backup after the next backup.
Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue?
    Thanks.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2: Unable to add a subnet to Site and Services

    Hi All,
I'm trying to add a new subnet to Site and Services to allow new server in that specific subnet to access the proper DC.
These are the actual subnet configured:
    - 192.168.28.0/22
    - 192.168.48.0/22
    - 192.168.80.0/22
Now I want to add this subnet: 192.168.90.0/22
Why I cannot confirm this new subnet in the GUI?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Becasue the network prefix is improper.
If we use "/22" as the mask, the network prefix should be 192.168.4n.0/22 (n=0,1,2... ...).
Therefore the proper network prefix should be 192.168.88.0/22 or 192.168.92.0/22.
For detailed information about subnetting, please refer to the link below,

The users all have an add-on word template in Word for Office 2013.  That add-on was installed as administrator and ONLY works as administrator.
When any other user (even if they are local administrators, domain admins, etc.) opens Word, they are immediately prompted with the following message:
"Could not load some objects because they are not available on this machine."
If a user "runs as administrator" it runs fine.  Obviously, I don't want that.  I have been searching and searching and thought maybe there was a group policy or Office setting someone may know that I just can't find.
Any help would be awesome!  Thank you.

    Hi,
Once you login with the user account which is not getting access, try the below steps and check if it helps fix the issue:
Click on start->control panel->programs and features->right click on the Office 2013 program->click on change->add or remove features-> click on the drop down arrow which is before the Microsoft Office->click on Run all from my computer->Continue.
Once completed restart the computer and then open to check if the issue occurs.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • Why is my Windows 8 computer unable to locate my music files?

My itunes are in the cloud.  My ipad and iphone pull all songs from the cloud as did my old Vista computer.  My new Windows 8 computer does not recognize that my music files are in the cloud.  When attempting to play a song, a window will pop up saying " The song could not be used because the original file could not be found.  Would you like to locate it?" Song files were also transferred over and it is unable to locate those as well.  This is a problem for another computer user because her songs are not in the cloud.

If the media is in the cloud then it is not synced to any devices.
    It cannot be both ways.
Was the media moved from the old computer to the new computer?  Installing iTunes does not cause this to magically happen.
