Windows 2012R2 Server Image. Setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file.
Hello!
When I try to deploy Windows Server 2012R2 64bit on a local machine from my WDS server. I get this error :
"Setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file. Contact the vendor of your Windows installation disc or your system administrator for assistance"
This message appear at the last step of the installation. (Finishing Install)
When I burn the image to a DVD I can install it problem free on my Machines. But when I capture said image and try to deploy it, this message appears.
The same message also appears when I try to deploy a Windows 8.1 image.
If I try to install this image with an unattended file. I get an error during "Install features" that there was a problem in "offline Servicing" even tough that field is Empty in my XML file.
The server i'm using has Windows 2012 standard 64bit. And the Image files was downloaded through MSDN.
Glad to hear the issue has been resolved.

I am currently trying to install Office 2010 Pro Plus onto my machine that has Access 97 and Access 2003, Visio 2003, Excel 2003, PowerPoint 2003, and Word 2003 installed. I need to keep the previous versions of Office installed as they are used for development
work. When I try installing Office 2010 I've stopped with the following error message: "An Office installation on your computer is corrupted and setup cannot continue. Remove or repair the Office 2003 product and re-run setup." I can't remove and
repair doesn't seem to do anything. Most posts suggest removing previous office versions or deleting/altering the MS Office registry keys (which would damage the previous versions of Office). Is there a solution to install Office 2010 independently of any
other version of Office installed?I figured out a method to finally install Office 2010 bypassing the error stated in the title, by manually removing all the keys that included the term "Office 2003" from the Windows registry.
I share my fix with more details and pictures step by step here :
Link
Please note that you need to be very careful when manually editing the Windows registry as it may cause problems to your operating system and even cause a massive failure requiring you to re-format your disk.
Feel free to use my fix at your own risk. I will not be held responsible for any damage caused or data loss. -
Limiting Memory Usage of Exchange 2010sp1 store.exe on a Windows 2012r2 Server?
Hello,
I am running Windows 2012r2 Server with Exchange 2010sp1, 1 forest and 6 mailboxes. So this is not a heavy load for Exchange 2010sp1 to handle. The problem is the Windows 2012r2 server is also used as a file storage server. The problem is the Exchange 2010sp1
is using most of the 16GB of ram available and slowing down the server. Is it possible to limit the Exchange 2010sp1 store.exe to use less memory and if so what are the steps in Windows 2012r2 to complete this task.
I have read that it can be done through ADSI Edit. But the steps they explain are not for Windows 2012r2 and do not match.
Thank You,
StanHi Stan,
Did you change msExchESEparamCacheSizeMax and msExchESEparamCacheSizeMin both attribute of Information Store?
Start ADSIEDIT.msc Navigate to Configuration > Services > Microsoft Exchange > <Organization Name> > Administrative Groups > <Administrative Group> > Servers > <Server Name> > InformationStore
http://eightwone.com/2011/04/06/limiting-exchange-2010-sp1-database-cache/
That ADSIEdit path shouldn't be different on Windows 2012 R2 because it doesn't depend on operating system and it should be always same in Configuration partition of Active Directory.
Besides....
Exchange 2010 SP1 (and SP2) is not supported now so suggest you upgrade to SP3. http://blogs.technet.com/b/rmilne/archive/2013/01/04/end-of-exchange-2010-sp1-support.aspx

Lync 2013 "Setup can't find or validate an installation file...."
Enterprise client installation.
We're running Windows 7 32bit SP2, Office 2010 32bit SP2.
Attempting to run the install for Lync 2013 (32-bit) on a test system and get the following warning immediately:
"Setup can't find or validate an installation file. Please try installing Office from your installation source, or if you installed from a downloaded package, please re-download and re-install....."
The source Lync 2013 file is direct from MVLS.
Any reason why this install from MVLS refuses to run from the source? Obviously, Lync 2013 wasn't included with Office 2010, so re-installing Office won't resolve this issue.
Any help is appreciated.Hi,
It may also cause by the issue of the conflict with other software, please use clean boot to test the issue. In this mode install Lync 2013 file again.
You can refer to the link of “How to perform a clean boot in Windows”:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
If the issue persists, please also try to download Lync 2013 file and install again.

If anyone is able to solve this they are a genius (or I am doing something very stupid!)
I am trying to reinstall CS5.5 Master Collection from DVD media on Windows 7 64 bit PC but setup.exe fails due to a msxml3.dll error.
Following a big bundle of recent Windows 7 updates, I started getting 'bad image' msxml3.dll error messages when opening any CS5.5 master collection program (Eg Premiere / Photoshop / Illustrator / Dreamweaver). Following advice on some threads here I tried uninstalling and then using the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool to clean up install, then reinstalling from my original DVD media.
Whenever I try using run setup.exe from installtion disc 1 the installing fails due to 'Missing files'. I have also tried dowloading trial versions and runing setup.exe fro mthe downloaded files but i still get the same message.
I have searched the forum and others have experienced this error but none of the solutions I have found seem to be working for me - as many seem to relate to download installations whereas I am installing from original DVD media (which worked fine before on the same PC)
These are the FATAL messages from the PDApp log
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] PIM - Failed to Create XML instance : DOMDocument40 ADXML::initWithXMLPath Error:80040154
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Could not initialize ADXML object
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Unable to initialize. Error parsing setup.xml file
The PDApp troubleshooting seems to indicate that this is caused by error in downloads but I am getting it with both original media DVD and downloads.
I have also tried using my logon (which has admin privileges) and under our main admin account - and I get the same errors.
Is a clean install of Windows 7 + CS5.5 my only option?
Any help / info / advice / solutions very much appreciated! I have spent the last 2 days trying to sort this out and seem to be getting nowhere.
Thanks. Thanks for the reply kglad - much appreciated.
I have already tried that option (along with downloading files) as it was one of the solutions mentioned on other threads, but that also failed.
Any other ideas? -
How to construct a window that shows images in a continuous rotation on a webpage using flash
Would like to know how to create a window in a web page that shows images in a continuous rotation
There are dozens of ways to accomplish this. What sort of experience with Flash do you have? A very simple method is to just place each image on the timeline. Set a frame rate for the movie, and then extend each image's extent on the timeline to allow it to be shown for the duration that you want. For instance, with the frame rate set to 15 fps, to show each image for 1 second, you would have each image occupy 15 frames. Add or subtract frames to suit your needs. You can add transitions between each image if you like.

Windows 2012 server image creation
Hi
I am posting this here as you have worked on imaging OS.
here is the situation:
I am working on creating windows image file (WIM file) for our company and i have already created images for windows 7 and also 3 different type of windows server 2008 without any issue. everything worked as it is supposed to. now i am trying to create an
image from Windows 2012 server. so all my process is same as i did for server 2008 but i get this error:
[error] c:\recovery\WindowsRE\winre.wim <error = 2>
error imaging drive [c:\]
they system ca not find the file specified.
some point to mention:
1- c:\recovery\windowsRE\winre.wim actually exists
2- as i mentioned i ahve done imaging many many times in the same environment and everything works just i get this error when i want to image my windows 2012
3- I boot in PXE environment and then try to run IMAGEX command and create my WIM file.
4- I have about 80 G free disk space on the partition I want to create my image to.
your help is appreciated. Thanks for your reply.
as i mentioned before imagex works perfectly for all my images ( win7 and also win 2008) it just fails on win2012
about DISM: I have worked with DISM to inject updates into images offline but i didnt know we can create an image of forexample C drive with DISM. is it possible?
I would actually use a "capture image" from a WDS-server, which is actually the easiest way (in my opinion) to create a Wim-file. What you have to do is set up a WDS server, add the boot.wim from e.g. Windows 2012 DVD into boot images, and then right click
it and "create capture image". Once you boot into that, it will help you create a .Wim-file that can be saved to the same disk, external disk (or even to the WDS if wanted).
I used to use imagex for older OS:es, but it doesn't work with Win8/Server2012 in the same way. -
Photoshop CS4 "Cannot save due to an end-of-file error" Help
This problem occurs daily, probably 15-20 times per project. I take on normally 3-4 projects per day, so you can see how annoying this is. Basically when I'm saving, I get a dialogue box that says "Cannot save your file due to an end-of-file error" or something to that extent. I would love to resolve this, this problem is persistent and it's driving me out of my mind I'm saving to a network, if that has any correlation. Thanks in advance
ChrisThis is the boilerplate text often used in connection to saving to a network (please NOTE the part where it explains that normally, it does work, but that it is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe):
If you are opening files over a network or saving them to a network server, please cease and desist immediately in the event you are currently experiencing problems with one or more files. Working across a network is not supported.
See:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406793.html
Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work. It should.
Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.
When problems arise, a lot of valuable work can be lost. -
Trying to install and configure RRAS in WIndows 2012 Server R2 but cannot
I just installed Windows Server 2012 R2 standard and trying to install RRAS.
Following these steps:
To install RRAS
Perform one of the following two steps to start the Add Roles Wizard:
Start Server Manager. In the main window, under Roles Summary, click
Add roles.
In the Initial Configuration Tasks window that appears when you first log on, under
Customize This Server, click Add roles.
On the Before You Begin page, click Next.
Note
This page does not appear if you previously selected Skip this page by default.
On the Select Server Roles page, select Network Policy and Access Services, and then click
Next twice.
On the Select Role Services page, select Routing and Remote Access Services.
Once I get to step 4 I do not see Routing and Remote Access listed under role services. Any idea why this is?
Thanks,
CraigHello,
please see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ubn5fkXZq8
And use "Remote Access" instead "Network Policy and Access Services".

Access 2013 Installation - Cannot continue unable to download a required file
We have working installations of office 2013 - Home and Business on two machines and we are trying to install Access 2013.
Both machines are running Windows 8.1
We have purchased 2 standalone physical media of Access 2013 to install on the machines.
We place the disks in the drive and get a small indicator that the disk are being read and then nothing.
We tried running \office\setup32.exe -v (we have 32bit office version already installed) and get message saying. "we're sorry, we can't continue because we weren't able to download a required file. "
We are connected to internet and i have tried disabling the firewall and antivirus but get nowhere. I do not wish to uninstall office unless i absolutely have to. Any suggestions please. Are these machines on a domain?
It my be possible that your WSUS does not have the files available. If so add those files to the update library or remove the machines from the domain, install and then re-add to domain
*which is not recommended but is a possible solution if nothing else is available -
Install cannot launch due to previous 'install log file'
Ive recently purchased CS6 Design standard, after I had some problems with my CS 5 suite.
Now when I try and instill it, as the install sequence launches it says that 'Installer failed to initialise'. I've used the Adobe Spport Advisor and it says the problem is "The following error appears in your Adobe Creative Suite 5 or CS5.5 product installer log file: Error committing command ARKCAPSWritePayloadDataCommand"
and the solution it gives is "This error occurs if you reinstall Photoshop CS4 when both Photoshop CS5 or CS5.5 and Photoshop CS4 are already installed on your system. To successfully reinstall Photoshop CS4, first remove Photoshop CS4, and then reinstall it."
I have not tried to reinstall anything, I simply uninstalled CS5 and am now trying to install CS6. Any feed back as to how I can fix this problem is greatly appreciatedBladin I would recommend looking at your installation log files. If the installation is failing during the initializing phase then you will want to review the PDApp.log file. You can find details on how to locate and interpret your installation log files at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.
Also you mentioned getting a DW063 error. Please see Error "Exit 6" or "Exit 7" | Install log | Read, write, system file errors | CS5, CS5.5 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-exit-6-exit-7.html for information on how to adjust the file permissions for the compromised directories. -

Error: 0x800f0922 when trying to install NFS Server Feature on Windows 2012R2
I'm trying to install the "Server for NFS" option under the File and Storage Services role on a Windows 2012R2 server, but I keep receiving an 0x800f0922 error. I've tried the install via the GUI and Powershell. I've also tried using the
DISM utility with different source media for the install, but with the same result. I ran "SFC /scannow" to check for any missing files/reg keys but it returned no errors. Any thoughts?Thank you for the help! I did try the suggested steps, but the issue persisted. I was able to resolve the issue by removing software on the server that was using the NFS ports needed for successful installation of the native NFS server.
In our case it was an optional component of our backup software called"Veeam backup vPower NFS". There is also a known issue with the Qlogic's SanSurfer software using the NFS ports.
There were entries in the System event log that tipped me off:
Event ID: 7000 The Server for NFS Open RPC (ONCRPC) Portmapper service failed to start due to the following error:
