Windows 7 64 bit and Ver 11 Beta

I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit OS and so followed the instructions to use the Beta version.  The software downloads and installs just fine.  However when I go to any website that requires the 10.3 version the websites tell me that I need to install the latest verion (10.3) of Flash Player.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Beta version three or four times but I always have the same results.  The web sites act like I don't have Flash Player installed at all.  Any thoughts?

Please post questions or problems regarding Flash Player 11 beta in the Flash Player 11 forum.

  • Is iTunes 10.5 beta available for windows 32 bit and where is it found?

New to the developers site. Can someone tell me if iTunes 10.5  beta is available for Windows (32 Bit) and where it can be found for download? Thanks.

  • Windows 8 and Possible Windows 7 64-bit Disk? laptop

Well unfortunately i downloaded windows 8 and not knowing that i completely installed itself over my previous OS.(Win7 Home Premium) I lost the disk i got with my laptop so i cant re-install windows 7 and seeing how i thought it was unfair for me to spend another 100euro or so on it i was wondering if i could possibly get another windows 7 disk sent to me. I think it would be best if a staff member of hp itself would reply to my question.
    Thanks
    This question was solved.

    Hi:
No one working for HP will respond to your request on this forum in an official capacity.
You can purchase a recovery disk for your PC's by reading the info at the link below.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00810334&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&sw_lang=&product=40...
Alternatively, I have a solution that is better than nothing if you don't want to order recovery disks.
Download the ISO file of the version of Windows 7 that is on the Microsoft COA sticker on the bottom of your PC. It must also be the version in the language that your PC original operating system came with.
For example, if your sticker is windows 7 home premium and the language was Danish, select the 32 or 64 bit download of the windows 7 home premium - Danish file.
Burn the file to a DVD using a program that can burn ISO files in order that you can boot from the DVD.
Install Windows 7. Then use the 25 character product key on the microsoft COA sticker on the bottom of your PC to activate the installation.
Then go the the HP support and driver page for your notebook and install any drivers you need.
Link to the W7 downloads is below.

  • PhotoShop CS5 with Windows 7 64 bits and/or Windows 7 32 bits

    Hello
I just bought a new computer with an Intal QuadCore, 8 Gb of memory and Windows 7 - 64 bits edition
I plan to upgrade from a former Photoshop CS3 onWindows XP and it was a 32 bits edition
Is the Photoshop CS5 supported on BOTH Win 7 32 AND 64 bits ? Or are they different versions ?
I plan to either have a dual boot Win 7 32 Bits  -    Win 7  64 bits or separate hard disk on racks, so I'll still be able to use 32 bits softwazre that don't run on 64bits
But if PhotoShop CS5 comes in 2 versions, I need to decide which one I should buy
Thanks for any help you vcan provide
    have a good day
PS : Is the problem with PhotoShop CS5 running on AMD processors solved ?

Windows 7 x64 is a separate build from Windows 7 32 bit.  Windows 7 Ultimate comes with BOTH.
There isn't a separate package of Photoshop CS5 for 32 bit or 64 bit.  Photoshop (since CS4) installs both 32 bit and 64 bit software on a 64 bit Windows system, or only 32 bit software on a 32 bit Windows system.
Photoshop CS5 is fine with every variant of Windows 7.
Photoshop CS5 is reportedly fine with modern AMD processors, though I have only used Intel.
The detailed system requirements are here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop/systemreqs/
My own (personal, subjective) opinion is that ATI (AMD) video interfaces are better than nVidia.
    Hope this answers your questions.

  • Best practice for managing a Windows 7 deployment with both 32-bit and 64-bit?

What is the best practice for creating and organizing deployment shares in MDT for a Windows 7 deployment that has mostly 32-bit computers, but a few 64-bit computers as well? Is it better to create a single deployment share for Windows 7 and include both
versions, or is it better to create two separate deployment shares? And what about 32-bit and 64-bit versions of applications?
I'm currently leaning towards creating two separate deployment shares, just so that I don't have to keep typing (x86) and (x64) for every application I import, as well as making it easier when choosing applications in the Lite Touch installation. But I know
each deployment share has the option to create both an x86 and x64 boot image, so that's why I am confused.

Supporting two task sequences is way easier than supporting two shares. Two shares means two boot media, or maintaining a method of directing the user to one or the other. Everything needs to be imported or configured twice. Not to mention doubling storage
space. MDT is designed to have multiple task sequences, why wouldn't you use them?
Supporting multiple task sequences can be a pain, but not bad once you get a system. Supporting app installs intelligently is a large part of that. We have one folder per app install, with a wrapper vbscript that handles OS detection. If there are separate
binaries, they are placed in x86 and x64 subfolders. Everything runs from one folder via the same command, "cscript install.vbs". So, import once, assign once, and forget it. Its the same install package we use for Altiris, and we'll be using a Powershell
version of it when we fully migrate to SCCM.
Others handle x86 and x64 apps separately, and use the MDT app details to select what platform the app is meant for. I've done that, but we have a template for the vbscript wrapper and its a standard process, I believe its easier. YMMV.
Once you get your apps into MDT, create bundles. Core build bundle, core deploy bundle, Laptop deploy bundle, etcetera. Now you don't have to assign twenty apps to both task sequences, just one bundle. When you replace one app in the bundle, all TS'es are
updated automatically. Its kind of the same mentality as active directory. Users, groups and resources = apps, bundles and task sequences.
If you have separate build and deploy shares in your lab, great. If not, separate your apps into build and deploy folders in your lab MDT share. Use a selection profile to upload only your deploy side to production. In fact I separate everything (except
drivers) into Build and deploy folders on my lab server. Don't mix build and deploy, and don't mix Lab/QA and production. I also keep a "Retired" folder. When I replace an app, TS, OS, etcetera, I move it to the retired folder and append "RETIRED - " to the
front of it  so I can instantly spot it if it happens to show up somewhere it shouldn't.
To me, the biggest "weakness" of MDT is its flexibility. There's literally a dozen different ways to do everything, and there's no fences to keep you on the path. If you don't create some sort of organization for yourself, its very easy to get lost as things
get complicated. Tossing everything into one giant bucket will have you pulling your hair out.

  • For the last 3 or 4 versions of iTunes, and continuing in 11.05, the site recognizes that I have a 64 bit OS (Windows Vista) and downloads the 64 bit version of setup.

For the last 3 or 4 versions of iTunes, and continuing in 11.05, the site recognizes that I have a 64 bit OS (Windows Vista) and downloads the 64 bit version of setup. Setup installs iTunes in the 32 bit application directory (Program Files x86) - it's not all that unusual to run a 32 bit app under a 64 bit OS - BUT whenever I connect any of my iPhones, I get an error message that say I cannot use the iPhone because the 64 bit version of iTunes is not installed.  The message then tells me to de-install iTunes and to install the 64 bit version.
Like I say, the 64 bit Setup version is selected for me, and it runs error-free, but I seem to have no control or ability to force the installation of a 64 bit iTunes app.  And all the iPhones are inoperative with the 32 bit version I have.  I have another PC, which I have held at an earlier iTunes release. Although it's a notebook, it's identical in every other way (OS & installed utilities and apps) to the desktop that has developed the problem, and my iPhones work fine with it, although iTunes on it is at the earlier release, and I have no intention of upgrading that version until I understand and have corrected the problem.
    Any ideas or suggustions?
    Thanks.

This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64 bit version of iTunes.
That usually indicates that your Apple Mobile Device Support has not installed. That's also what is being shown by the diagnostics (the driver is there but the application isn't).
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Windows 7 32-bit and DOS applications

I have a Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5983 and am thankful that it came with Win 7 32-bit because I can run DOS applications, CMD prompt windows, BAT files, and so forth.  My most important DOS application is Managing Your Money (MYM) which I start from a BAT file.  I also have what must be a 16-bit Windows app which I start from a BAT file.
These applications are supposed to emit sounds either when an action is completed or something is entered in error.  This works fine on XP but not on Win 7 32-bit. Has anyone run into this?
There are some other quirks regarding shortcuts but I'll find another topic to post that on.

    Wow...
After reading a bit more about some of the problems other people were having I decided to shift my focus a little on something else other then the Sound Card Itself.
Like I said earlier, my Windows Vista install never gave me a problem. It just always worked for me. But then again, I didn't get the latest driver is about 3 months for my video card either.
I was reading a bunch of posts about how the nvidia chipset was cauing some serious issues. Some people actually had issues with the motherboard chipsets, and other has problems with Video chipsets as well.
So with that in mind, I started to look at my video card. I removed the Windows 7 drivers that it wanted to install when I fisrt logged into Windows 7 for the first time. And I also have a Windows Vista Driver for my ATI Radeon HD 3780 from about July.
So I threw caution to the wind and decided to remove everything "Beta" from ATI for my video card, and start with the install the way Vista did. (It didn't have a nati've driver for it, but Win 7 does) So back at the "VGA Compatable Driver" I installed my July version of the ATI Radeon Drivers.
No more sound pops, clicks or grunts at all. Not even a little. It's completely gone. When looking at the driver setting, they have changed the look and feel of the drivers a little but they still work in much the same way. The Vista Drivers installed without an issue on Windows 7 and I didnt notice a speed decrease at all. Even in games and benchmarks.
So I know this might not be the "Fix" for everyone, but if you are running an ATI card with the SB X-FI Sound Card, try staying away from ATI's "BETA" drivers for a little bit. RIght now everything is running like I wanted it to run and I could not be happier.
So I guess Newer is not always better...
Just thought I would add this update if someone was running non-nvidia hardware like myself.
    Thanks!!!

  • Audigy 2 ZS with Windows 7 64-Bit and more than 4GB of RAM

    Hello,
I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit and I have installed 8GB RAM. I installed the latest Beta driver and I'm not able to use my microphone. It doesn't recognize any input at all. As soon as I remove 4GB RAM so only 4 GB RAM remain everything works as expected. The microphone problem is only there when you have more than 4GB RAM installed. Is there any driver or workaround to make the microphone work again?
    I don't want to
use another version of Windows 7<
    reduce my RAM<
    use onboard sound<
I hope you can help me or at least tell me if (and when) Creative wants to fix this.
    Thank you. Kind regards
    T3rm

No solution from me, but I just wanted to chime in because I have the same problem and I'd like to explain it in detail. I've actually had this problem with Vista 64-bit (6GB of RAM) for the past 2 years. It's a very flaky/random problem, where about 40% of the time the microphone worked fine, 20% where I would get minor crackling (turns my voice into a robot voice), 20% with MAJOR crackling, and 20% where the microphone didn't work at all. When it would either crackle or stop working, I would usually restart the computer. After the computer booted up again, it would work fine 95% of the time (I very rarely had to reboot it twice in a row). However, it would randomly change states (between the four listed above) throughout the duration of the computer staying on. And, it would usually progress in the direction of "being more and more broken". For example:
.) Wake up, turn on my computer. Everything works fine.
2.) Go to class, come back. Now the microphone crackles.
3.) Do some homework, eat dinner. Now the microphone doesn't work at all.
I was excited when the SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_00.exe update came out in July so I can finally get a consistent working microphone in a 64-bit version of Windows. Then everything came together last week, when I got a copy of Windows 7 64-bit Professional from my school. I tried the drivers and....FAIL. Pretty much the same thing, but different percentages/tendencies than listed above for Vista.
I just found this on another thread which highlights some useful information:
Microphone issues on Windows 7/Vista 64-bit (x64) with 4GB?of RAM or more
Audigy driver does not support 64-bit addressing, resulting in random issues with the Microphone (static, robotic or distorted voice, white noise).
    Workarounds:
    - install the 32-bit (x86) version of Windows
    - limit the RAM available to Windows to less than 4GB
    - enable Memore Hole in BIOS Setup, if?your motherboard supports the setting
Haha, why even release a 64-bit "compatible" driver when it doesn't even work right in 64-bit operating systems? Should I not expect a proper driver and buy an Asus Xonar instead?

I am on windows 7 and I upgraded to the newest verison of firefox and now it will not open. I have removed firefox completely and uploaded it again and that did not work. I then made sure it could get through my firewall and that did not work. So my latest attempt I removed firefox 10 again and uploaded the beta version hoping that would do it and once again nothing. It will not open at all. Please help - is there a live chat or a number to talk to someone at Firefox?

I think when uninstalling you may also have to choose (tick) to delete the preferences and other personal data like the bookmarks, stored passwords etc. to erase completely. If you are installing afresh, please try right-clicking on the file and '''Run as administrator''' to install. And when uninstalling, please also make sure choose to delete all data and also manually delete any '''Mozilla''', '''Mozilla Firefox''' or '''Firefox''' from %appdata%, %localappdata% and %programfiles%. You can open a location by typing for eg. %appdata% in the '''Run''' box (Windows key + R). You may also have to check the '''VirtualStore''' folder in %localappdata%. Files in the VirtualStore can be problematic. I think a clean installation may help.

  • Install sqldeveloper on windows 7 64 Bit and Oracle 11.2

    Hi,
how can I find the rigth jdk. I installed JDK on C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_23.
I installed Oracle 11.2 including sqldeveloper. But I cannot find the correct folder to start sqldeveloper.
Where can I find this path?
When I include a path with java.exe I get the error "Unable to find a Java Virtual Machine. To point to a locacion of a Java Virtual Machine, pleaser refer to the Oracle9i Jdeveloper Install guide (jdev\install.html)" Where can I find this?
    Thank you for your help
    Siegwin

I am on Windows 7 64 bit. I see that installing Oracle 11.2 database installs SQL Developer also but that doesn't work. I get the .bat file not found crap. What I then did was do a seperate install of SQL Developer for 64 bit, but that does NOT install the jdk.
I then did the java install from:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk-6u25-download-346242.html
    I selected: jdk-6u25-windows-x64.exe
I then point to the java.exe where this install loaded it (c:\program files\Java\jdk1.6.0_25\bin when I start up sql developer and it still gives the same error. I delete the SetJavaHome value in the sqldeveloper.conf file and try again over and over but it still gives the same error.
So, I have windows 7 - 64 bit operating system. I have Oracle 11.2 database installed. I have a seperate installation of SQL Developer 64 bit and I have the java jdk for 64 bit installed.
Nothing is working. Can anyone please steer me in the correct direction? Should I delete the second install of SQL Developer 64 bit and to an install of SQL Developer 32 bit?

  • Windows XP Pro (32-bit) and Vista Ultimate (64-bit) on the same Mac Pro HD?

Has anyone been able to install both Windows XP Pro (32-bit) and Windows Vista Ultimate (64-bit) on the same dedicated Windows hard drive? I have four HD in my Mac Pro, and one of them is dedicated for Windows (and bootable via Boot Camp). I found the following technical articles about installing Windows XP & Vista on the same hard drive (using two separate partitions) using a VMWare machine as the test system:

Has anyone successfully installed Windows XP (32-bit) and Vista 64-bit) on the same NTFS partition?
I already have Windows XP Pro (32-bit) SP3 installed on my single NTFS hard drive. I am looking for the best way to add the Vista 64-bit installation on the same hard drive.
Any thoughts and advise are appreciated.

Windows has its own list of boot OSs, and default, from msconfig. It will sit and wait for xx-seconds on startup in Windows if you want to boot from an alternate.
As to whether Apple's OS Switcher (aka startup disk bootcamp control panel or tray icon) sees both, I had Windows Home Premium and Ultimate 64, and pretty sure OS X saw both. That was pre-Leopard and before there were 64-bit Apple drivers.
I can't think of any scenerio of wanting to mix 32-bit and 64-bit on the same paritition, you realize you can't install the one over the other and must do a clean install.
When I added a partition out of main partition (I wanted to put search index and page file on their own partition) those partitions aren't seen - are hidden - to Leopard.

I ended up putting it in DFU mode.  It's kinda hard to tell it was in DFU mode because nothing showed on the screen, it was just black, but the sounds from the computer helped to tell me it was connected.
Itunes still didn't recognize the device for whatever reason.
So I used redsn0w.  I don't know if I can say that on these forums, but considering itunes was worthless at this point I am going to give credit where credit is due.
Now I am giving itunes a second chance to upgrade to 5.1, if it doesn't work, well, back to redsnow and maybe I will even jailbreak it this time rather than just using the fecovery fix found under extras.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you still have trouble you might consider installing the alternate version iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards) where you can download a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of iTunes that works with older video cards. This version may also be useful for anyone who is unable to get the 64-bit version of Apple Application Support to install when using the itunes6464setup file, or has trouble with playback of certain video files despite having QuickTime installed.
