Windows 7 64 Bit Import crash

I have a core i7 system with 6 GB of RAM running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I installed my copy of Lightroom 2 on my C: drive and updated to 2.5. When I click the import button, the program immediately terminates. If I use the menus, the import dialog appears but the program crashes.
I uninstalled 2.5 and downloaded Lightroom 3 Beta. I installed that on an external HDD (USB 2). When I click on import, the program immediately crashes. When I use the menu, the import dialog appears but there is a crash.
The crash is (endlessly) repeatable with two different versions of the program on two different disks. 2.5 worked happily with Windows 64 bit Ultimate so it looks like a Windows 7 compatibility issue - has anyone else encountered (and resolved) this problem?
Sean

I removed the preferences file as directed.  I clicked on the 64-bit Lightroom icon.  It still crashed.  I removed the entire Preferences folder and noticed that a new preferences folder was created.  But Lightroon still crashed.  In the same Adobe folder I went to the Photoshop CS4 folder and found a "PSErrorLog.txt" file that tracks errors.  The error messages were similar, with the latest one reflecting my crash saying the following:
        2009:11:20 00:13:51 : e:\ps11\ps_11_win_daily_retail\20090218.r.523\photoshop\main\photoshop\interfaces\UTrackR esourceImp.h : 136 : REQUIRE failed
I have no idea what that means except something failed.  Maybe someone else knows what it means.
I've attached the log file in case it can help anyone.

The above error says Presentation services not running.
Using this command you can check:

iTunes 11.0.1.12 and Windows 7 (32 bit, latest version). iTunes crashes frequently (Windows message : "iTunes has stopped working and will be closed"). I may be trying to search for an App. or book (or anything else), trying to access iTunes store, checking for updates to Apps., inputting my password, etc. etc. I have uninstalled iTunes several times, reinstalled several times, but the error persists. I tried the iTunes 10 suggested fix of running in safe mode, but iTunes again crashed when I was trying to create a new ID.

Hi, I am having problems with a new Windows 7, 64 bit system. Acrobat 9 frequently crashes programs when it's invoked, for instance when trying to print a web page to PDF from Firefox, or making a PDF from a Word document. Firefox or Word will crash, with no errors. Acrobat is also giving these errors freqently: "Fatal error: failed to connect to dde server"
Other installed apps include MS Office 2007 and Symantec Endpoint Protection, SAS JMP, Endnote.
    thanks for any suggestions.

  • Windows 8 (64 bit) error/crash:DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (NETIO.SYS)

    Hi,
I bought a new computer with Windows 8 (64 Bit) in April/May 2013 and it has recently started crashing within the last week.  The error message that pops up every time is the same.  It is on a blue screen and says:
"Your computer has encountered an error and needs to restart :(
    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (NETIO.SYS)"
Can someone please explain what I need to do to fix this?
I've read that it can be antiviruses such as Avast, however I am currently running Vipre. (I have Avira installed still, but disabled while I complete the trial of Vipre)
Any help would be *greatly* appreciated!
    Thank you!

  • Safari 5.1.5 on Windows 7 64-bit: WebKit crashes.

    Hello everyone.
I have a Safari 5.1.5 installed on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The last version of Safari which really worked well on my PC was, ironically, Safari 4 Beta. It was stable, it wasn't crashing and it was a pleasure to use it. ;D Ever since Safari 4, stable version, I've had many problems w/ it. 4, in any possible version, was unusable on my PC. 5 is much better when it comes to reliability. The only problem - or rather, two problems - lies within the fact that from time to time [quite possibly every couple of hours or so] I get an information abt WebKit Engine's crash. It first manifests itself by website turning black, then every opened tab's content gets white and I get a crash report. I then have to click on every tab, the website refreshes itself and everything is fine until the next crash. Also, instead of appearing as 1 window, Safari on my system shows every opened tab as a group of separate windows within the taskbar.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, repairing and other stuff but nothing seems to be working. ;( I really hate it because Safari is quite possibly my favourite web browser and am not exactly feeling the love right now.
Thanks in advance for the help,
    Michał

I know this is an old post, but since I ran across it while reloading software...

  • Windows 7 64-bit professional crashes

I do some computer repair (mostly software) as a side hobby for friends, but actually going to school for sports medicine. That said, this issue has me a little stumped. The computer is a HP HDX Premium Series. This being a friend's computer, I'm not sure
how old it is, or if she got it second hand/refurbished. It's been randomly both rebooting and crashing. In the week that I've had it, I've only seen reboots (3 of them) but no crashes. All 3 of them happened while I was attempting to run a full scan using
Windows Defender (a quick scan never triggered a reboot, but a full scan did every time). I pulled the info about the reboot from the on-screen message, and below is what I got. Part of the reason I'm so stumped is that for the codes I got for BCP2, BCP3,
and BCP4, I can't find them *anywhere* online. Google pulls zero! search results. Help please?!?
    BC: f4
    BCP1: 0000000000000003
    BCP2: FFFFFA8008AC2B30
    BCP3: FFFFFA8008AC2E10
    BCP4: FFFFF80002D9A270
If you guys need me to pull any other info from the computer, just let me know. I tried uploading the Minidump file to SkyDrive (saw this recommended in another question here), but SkyDrive said it couldn't upload folders or empty files. Which I really don't
get since it's listed as being 281KB. Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the response. Before I started anything, my first go-to was possible malware. Needless to say, I was a bit horrified (and actually cringed) when I found a system with Windows Defender turned off, avast installed but not turned on, and Malwarebytes
installed but never run and more than 6 months out of date. Needless to say, I updated everything, turned everything on, added Spybot and SuperAntiSpyware, and then run everything until no more items were found. Close to 200 keyloggers, trojans, and other
malicious junk found, and it has definitely been running better since then.
However, the random reboots that I saw occurred *after* all of that. You did mention power supply failures could be an issue. What about the laptop battery no longer holding a charge properly? It will charge when plugged in, but when the system is turned
completely off and let sit for say 4 days, the battery is totally dead. It can't even attempt to start the computer, and shows 0% charge when plugged back in. Yet if you charge and then unplug while the system is on, it doesn't immediately crash, so it is
holding some charge. It rebooted on me while trying to charge up from a 0% battery, but was on AC the whole. Could that still be causing the issue? She's already bought a new battery as she knows this one is dying, so if this ends up being the cause of the
reboots, that'd be great, as 2 birds with 1 stone.

  • Windows 7 64-bit Itunes crashes when I go to itunes store

Every thing seems to work fine except that when I try to access iTunes store it crashes, or update my apps.
I have updated my path C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support and no change.

I had exactly the same issue today with my Windows 8 PC, and I tried the suggestion below provided by another person in this forum - and it works.
Try adding C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support; to the system variables PATH
iTunes tries to use QTMovieWin.dll and that the file is in the directory
    Guide to add a PATH:
    Windows 8
Drag the Mouse pointer to the Right bottom corner of the screen
Click on the Search icon and type: Control Panel
Click on -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced
Click on Environment Variables, under System Variables, find PATH, and click on it.
In the Edit windows, modify PATH by adding the location of the class to the value for PATH. If you do not have the item PATH, you may select to add a new variable and add PATH as the name and the location of the class as the value.
    Close the window.
    Windows 7
Select Computer from the Start menu
Choose System Properties from the context menu
Click Advanced system settings > Advanced tab
Click on Environment Variables, under System Variables, find PATH, and click on it.
In the Edit windows, modify PATH by adding the location of the class to the value for PATH. If you do not have the item PATH, you may select to add a new variable and add PATH as the name and the location of the class as the value.
    Windows XP
Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced
Click on Environment Variables, under System Variables, find PATH, and click on it.
In the Edit windows, modify PATH by adding the location of the class to the value for PATH. If you do not have the item PATH, you may select to add a new variable and add PATH as the name and the location of the class as the value.
    Close the window.

  • Windows 7 64-bit  Itunes crashes

For the last couple of months  when it seems that my itunes is done updating my iphone 3GS I get an error message saying itunes needs to close.   Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated.

No, that might put all your music in a different folder. Making a new library was just a test, to see if it was a problem with the itunes database file.
That new test library probably got named iTunes1...you can just delete that after you close itunes.
You can recreate your library using these steps. It should get back everything except Date Added.

  • ITunes 10.5.3 Crashing on Windows 7 (32-bit)

I've recently downloaded the iTunes 10.5.3 updates onto my laptop, the operating system of which is Windows 7 32-bit. Since updating it, iTunes has been crashing when I try to access iTunes Store, use iTunes Match, or import music, presenting me with a report that "iTunes has stopped working" and simply reads "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." It doesn't tell me what the error is or why it has stopped working. I've in response tried reinstalling both iTunes and Quicktime. I've checked my computer for any viruses, malware, etc and the scans have come up empty. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?
Thank you in advance for any advice!

  • CS5 and CS5.5 64-bit (Flash, Illustrator, Fireworks) ALL Crash Out of Nowhere on Windows 7 64-bit

ATTENTION ADOBE! Your CS5 and CS55 products crash continuously on Windows 7 64-Bit. And I don't mean just when I'm saving (which they do) or when I'm importing into Flash Pro (which it does); I'm saying it just completely dissappears just as if I hadn't even opened it. No error message whatsoever. Oh, and of course, ALL WORK GONE since my last save; And I don't think that I should have to save every 5 seconds!
IS THERE A FIX FOR THIS?
    IF NOT...
PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE BECAUSE WE'VE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON YOUR PRODUCTS; AND NOW THEY'RE COSTING US EVEN MORE WITH POOR PRODUCTIVITY BECAUSE WE HAVE TO KEEP REDOING THINGS; NEVERMIND ALL OF THE FRUSTRATION IT IS CAUSING!!!
I thought that upgrading from CS5 to CS55 might help, but no, the problem is even worse.
FLASH, ILLUSTRATOR, and FIREWORKS ALL EXHIBIT THE SAME SYMPTOMS.

Sorry to bother you I just thought you might hit on something if other apps were not working.
Is everyone in your office having this issue with Flash, Fireworks or Illustrator crash? How many people?
Did you upgrade to 64-bit from 32-bit?
Are you using an approved OS for your hardware; i.e. Dell recommends using?
Have you scanned your memory to see if its bad?
Do you have your memory in the right slots in your motherboard?
What apps are you using when Flash, Fireworks or Illustrator crash? If you are running Photoshop, Premiere or After Affects you might have to adjust their memory useage.
When Flash, Fireworks or Illustrator crash is your system having issues?
Have you checked the event logs in Windows to see if there are any error or critical events logged at or around the time when  Flash, Fireworks or Illustrator crash?
Note you can also open a support ticket with Adobe on the issue and work that pretty far without paying $25 (which is not that much); if your business is losing money as you stated originally.

  • ITunes crashes loading Store on Windows 8 64-bit

I have iTunes 11.1.4 installed on a Lenovo X1 Carbon with Windows 8 64-bit. It will start and I can play music, sync devices, and update existing applications. Unfortunately, it crashes every time I try to load the store.

I tried many solutions, from compatibility mode, to running as admin and even reinstalling all the apple software. Nothing did the trick.
I finally figure it out a way to fix it. Roll back to an older version, pretty much what Atlas Axe did. However, I didn't have an old installer backed up so I had to look for it on the web.
    This is what I did:
    1. Download itunes 11.1.0
       Instructions: http://warrington.ufl.edu/itsp/docs/TAC_InstallingiTunes.pdf
       Direct links:
          - Windows32-bit 94.08MB https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes11/041-8597.20130918.PmmEw/iTunesSetup.e xe
          - Windows64-bit 95.76MB https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes11/041-8598.20130918.Exe55/iTunes64Setup .exe
    2. Uninstall all apple software.
       Instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
In a nutshell, uninstall these programs. MUST uninstall in the listed order.
          - iTunes
          - Apple Software Update
          - Apple Mobile Device Support
          - Bonjour
          - Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    3. Reboot your system
    4. Install Itunes 11.1.0 from the just downloaded installer.

  • Itunes 7.6 Crashes on New Windows Vista 32 bit Home Prem (64 bit processor)

I have a weird one... I have a new DELL XPS 420 PC with Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium version on a 64 bit Intel Duo Core processor... Itunes 7.6 (Quicktime 7.4.1) crashes regardless of all solutions and suggestions (Quicktime also crashes as stand alone operation)... I have tried all suggested solutions from the discussions I have found about 64 bit Vista even though I don't have 64 bit Vista- I have a 64 bit "processor"... my logical conclusion is the latest, greatest version of Itunes (Quicktime) addresses the problem with 64 bit OS but NOT 64 bit processors... IF ANYONE or ANY EINSTIENS OUT THERE HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS, WOULD YOU PLEASE PLEASE HELP?

You probably need to manually remove your gear drivers.
