Windows 7, 64 Bit, iPod sync total crash; URGENT ISSUE TO SOLVE!!!

Hello,
I do have installed Windows 7, 64 Bit Version. I also have the latest Version from iTunes 9.0.2.25 installed.
Whenever I plug on any of my iPods he´s asking me if I want to delete and sync with this new computer. Now: When I agree, the WLAN is going off and iTunes.exe*32 is telling me that it´s not responding anymore on Windows 7. No any specific error is flopping up. Then I need to put off the computer manually and restart. No issues then.
This error accures on all of my 2 iPods (iPod Nano, last version; iPod 120 GB version).
Please help me to solve this issue - I´m going crazy with it!
Best regards,

In case anyone wants to know ... this is solved. If you have Win 7 + certain nvidia chipsets there is a USB bug. MS is aware of it and has a hotfix.

This fixed my problem, thank goodness. If it hasn't been posted here I hope it helps. If it has, sorry I missed it

  • Hi all, i can't sync over wifi between my iPhone 4 and Windows 7 64 bit, wifi sync works with the same phone and my Windows 8 machine, tried solutions from other threads with no luck, just thought i'd see if anyone else had any ideas, thanks.

Hi all, i can't sync over wifi between my iPhone 4 and Windows 7 64 bit, wifi sync works with the same phone and my Windows 8 machine so the problem seems confined to Windows 7. I've tried solutions from other threads -
Making sure everything is allowed through firewall
    Rebooting phone/laptop/router
    Disabling ipv6
Disabling all networks except the one curently on
    Re-installing iTunes
    Restoring iPhone
No luck with any of those unfortunately so i just thought i'd see if anyone else is still without wifi sync after trying those as well and if you ever found a fix, thanks.

I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

  • Windows 7 64 bit, iPod touch 2nd gen, iTunes sync issue

I have Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium and am frustrated to death. I have spent days wiping out my iPod trying something different an only to start all over again. I am not a n00b to computers and only ask because I only find a trail of tears and none of the problems I see look specifically like mine.
I have been following this issue since Feb 2010 and notice reports that are sort of similar back to Jan of 2009. Anyway here is my problem.
iTunes will recognize my iPod touch 2nd Gen. iTunes will "sync" apps and data. iTunes will not sync movies, music, books, or software upgrades.
I get an error code that changes depending on what I am trying and seems to lead to no where. I can't honestly remember the code anymore.
I can sync with this same computer using Windows XP 32 Pro win a VirtualBox VM, but can not do it directly from within Windows 7. So hardware and drivers are not the issue. I reinstalled iTunes with a Vista 64 bit install that I found online which appeared to work temporarily then ultimately I ended up back where I started.
I actually switched to Windows (from linux) because I got tired of the VirtualBox method. Quite ironic that I am still facing the same issue.
On top of the not being able to sync properly from Windows 7 64 bit. Everytime I try I have to put in hours of work to get my Ipod back to working order as iTunes only allows you to sync with one computer and is slower that snail poop in January. In order to try again I have to be willing to commit to the problems that I am most likely to encounter.
    So my questions are
    1. Does anyone have a clue why Apple has not fixed this issue? or is there a solution I don't know about?
    2. Is there an easier way to attempt a fix that does not require me to re organize my 70+ apps on my iPod?
P.S. I do not have an intel based chipset as that seems to have been an issue for others. I have
    ASUS M2V VIA K8T890 AM2 Mother Board
    CPU AMD|A64 X2 4600+
    VGA EVGA GF 7300GT
Have tried direct to MB USB and through powered Hub

Are you sure that you downloaded the 64 bit version and not the 32 bit version?  I would delete the download and try again.  You also might want to look at the iTunes forum since youu have an iTunes problem and not an iPod problem.

  • WINDOWS VISTA 64-Bit PALM SYNC

I just bought a brand new Dell 1440Z for school. I was super excited to sync my palm centro to it. After lots of screwing around I ended up on Palms Support pages only to find you cannot use a USB cable to sync with a 64 bit windows OS. I don't have Bluetooth capability or infared on my Cpu. It would appear I'm just out of luck ~?? I wonder why I bought a new phone hat will not Synce with a new laptop. Does Palm plan on doing anything about this other then telling people to use Bluetooth?
    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

Hello and welcome to the forums -
At this time, there is no information on whether or not USB support may be an option in the future, so the only options available at this time for 64-bit systems (and this will include Windows 7 64-bit versions) are Bluetooth or IR. This is because there are no compatible USB drivers. Many users have had success in using a Bluetooth adapter, available at many online and physical retailers for very cheap.
Hope this helps and good luck,

  • I install iTunes on Windows 7 64-bit, it opens, it crashes

The subject says it all, pretty much.
    - I install the latest iTunes (downloaded 01/31/2014)
    - I open it, then go to iTunes store, and it hangs itself after login
    OR
    - I open it, then close it, then hold SHIFT and double-click, as I want the library on a separate drive. I can select the drive, but in the meantime, the program hangs itself. In this case, onlt for about 30 minutes. Then it asks if I want to see the tutorials. I try to close it. It's been running in this state for over 8 hours now.
I've tried uninstalling everything related to itunes, even removing all files from the registry. Each time I install, I get the same result. I have not prior install history left on this PC, as no install had been ever authorized when I had it on this machine for a few days back 3-4 months ago. The machine I used before has been repurposed, and doesn't have the software anymore... But it's also Windows 7 64-bit
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

When I run the iTunes64setup.exe it says: "The thingy is not a valid win32 application."
That generally indicates that the installer has been getting damaged on the download.
What web browser have you been using for downloading the iTunes64Setup.exe? Does it make any difference if you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa)?

  • Can't sync photos - One possible issue is solved

To all those people tearing their hair out trying to sync photo's onto their iPod Classic, I have found one significant thing. After spending weeks trying to figure this out, I was down to analyzing the network traffic between my iPod and the library (which is pretty sad) and low and behold - I found something.
Since my photo library existed on my server, I was referencing it using a UNC path, which is perfectly fine EXCEPT it ended up being a very LONG PATH to my library of photos. In my network analyzer, it appeared that the path to the directory where I store my photos was getting truncated when being processed by my iPod sync. Ouch!
Sorry - I don't remember the exact length limit, but I fixed the problem by creating a share on my server for directory where I store my photos and mapping a drive letter on my workstation. Then in the iPod/ITunes Photo Tab, I changed the directory in the "Sync photos from" field to point to my very short drive letter.
There are certainly more problems with, but I think this is possibly one of the big problems with sych'ing photos.
    Good luck!
    Peter

Try deleting the iPod photo Cache folder from inside the folder photos are syncing from.

  • Windows Vista 64 bit Hot Sync w/Zire 71

The Zire 71 is not a wireless unit so I can not sync via Bluetooth.  I tried infra red, and although the PC and the Zire can connect, they can not communicate.  It seems before we can use an infrared sync, we must sync via cable.  But Vista doesn't recognize the Zire when hooked by cable, and Palm has no fix.
Anyone find a fix to this?  I like the Zire and it's perfect for me, but Palm doesn't support hotsync with the new Windows O/S.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks
    Post relates to: Zire 71

    Thanks for your input ...
When trying to sync, the IR icon in the PC tray shows communication with a device, but nothing further happens.  After 20 seconds or so the Palm times out and displays an error message ..... Connection with PC failed.
I have the Palm set to local and to IR/PC connection.  The Hotsync connections are set to IR, and USB.  There is not a local selection choice in Hotsync connections.
Any further thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks for taking the time to help.

  • ITunes 7.6 will not install on Windows Vista 32-bit (iPod Service problem)

Basically, my story is near-identical to the one here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1572880&tstart=0
EXCEPT that after trying EVERYTHING rmurtagh did, I STILL had no success. Specifically, when I try to install iTunes, I get the error "Service 'iPod Service' (iPod Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." and when I try to change anything using services.msc, I get the error, "The system cannot find the file specified." PLEASE HELP!!

when I try to change anything using services.msc, I get the error, "The system cannot find the file specified." PLEASE HELP!!
Are you getting that if you try to manually restart the iPod Service in Services.msc?
If so, do you get an error message number with the message? If so, what number is it?

  • IPod sync...weird issue...can't fix it!

    Hi all,
I have noticed that I regularly still have playlists on my iPod that I have deleted from my iTunes library. It doesn't show up in my library, nor does it when I change from manually syncing to automatically syncing.
How can I get rid of it from my iPod?
    Regards,
    dpwright

    Hello Daniel,
Perhaps this Apple support document can help you out. It explains how to delete playlists off your iPod, whether you are manually managing it or automatically.
[Adding and Deleting Songs and playlists from your iPod|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1855]
If still no luck with either of these, your best bet would be to restore the iPod via iTunes to remove the playlists.
    Hope this helps.

  • IPod won't sync with iTunes on Windows 7/64 bit PC

I just updated my PC to Windows 7/64 bit. iPod will not sync with iTunes. I have uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes, and tried all the suggestions on the Internet (except restoring the iPod, too scary; and modifying registry on the PC, too too scary). The device thinks it has the most current software. The iPod tries to connect and appears briefly but then disconnects. A Windows message appears asking the following: "Do you want to scan and fix My iPod? There might be a problem with some files on this device or disc. This can happen if you remove the device or disc before all files have been written to it." If I tell it yes to scan it gives another error message that is it not recognized. If I tell it to skip the scan, the device disconnects and nothing happens. No syncing. I am at a loss as to how to fix this. Has anyone encountered this type of issue and if so - how did you resolve it. I don't want to restore the iPod as I do not know if it will ever connect and sync again and all the music on it now would be lost and the device would be useless. Thank you in advance for your suggestions. Tikimom

I tried the iTunes 10 suggested fix of running in safe mode, but iTunes again crashed when I was trying to create a new ID.
