Hello rlarue, welcome to the HPalm Support Community.
If I could direct your attention to the topmost posts in this section?  They have a grey background and are called "sticky posts" due to the fact they do not move downwards as new posts arrive, but "stick" to the top.
That said, you'll find two interesting posts!  "How to sync a TX via Wifi" and "64 bit drivers are HERE".

  • Palm T|X sync problems w/ Calendar 10.1.2 for Mac OS

I have a new Palm T|X and running into sync problems with my Intel Mac. My IT people in my office can get oracle to sync from the "Macintosh to the handheld," but not sync, which makes my new palm nothing more than a fancy paper calendar (that my staff can't update/sync).
I am ready to return this palm, to essentially revert to an older version of a PDA, which I obviously don't want to do. Does anyone know when new oracle calendar conduits that support the palm T|X for MacOS will come out or what other measures I can take to make it sync properly? I'd like to decide whether I should return my new Palm, hold it for a future upgrade, or just go back to my paper calendar!
    HELP! Thanks in advance!

you need Oracle Calendar Sync version 9.0.4.2.11, which Oracle still has not put out on its download site, even though they will make it available on request.
I have numerous Palm units (mostly Treo 650s and T|Xs) synchronizing with a variety of Mac units (PPC and Intel) using 9.0.4.2.11 with no problems.

  • Centro 64 bit bluetooth sync problem

Hi, I searched forum but did not find answer to my specific problem. I just got new computer with Win 7 64 bit so USB cable can not be used to sync my Centro. Added a BT dongle and both the BT software and Centro can "see" each other but Centro either freezes or gives error when I try to sync. Problem seems to be which comm port I am setting up. I have tried to set up a virtual comm port but the BT software seems to only accept comm 40 which is not an option with HotSync manager. Also, I do not see Bluetooth as an option in the hotsync setup.
Any thoughts, links, etc. would be greatly appreciated!
    TIA,
    Stuart

If I then go to control panel, uninstall progs, PC Suite and hit repair, it will work until I restart the computer when I have to go through the whole repair business again. I can turn the phone on and off and it will continue to work, the problem only seems to occur if I turn the computer on and off.

  • Bluetooth Sync problems, Treo 755P and Vista

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows Vista.  After reading the posts I realized that syncing with USB would not work, so I added bluetooth to my computer (Targus USB bluetooth adapter).  When I first set it up, my 755p and my PC synced just fine, then it just stopped working. I have checked the settings and drivers and I can't figure out the problem, and I cannot get it to work again.  I have tried a soft reset of my 755p.  any suggestions?

  • Bluetooth Sync Problem.

I don't understand why I never get bluetooth connection to work properly with the BB desktop manager and sync with Outlook.
I got it to work for half a day at best and to sync once or twice.
I have Windows 7 Professional and a BB 9700 BOLD. I have BB Desktop Software 6.0.1.18.
It connects just fine with W7 and sometimes with the BB desktop manager. After one or two successful syncs, it tells me that the 9700 is powering off, restarting or something of the sort (which is not true...).
Can anyone guide me towards resolution of this problem?

I feel your pain. I dont get why this does not work properly. It did not work with my pearl and does not work with my Torch.
I tried all sorts of exotic solutions and they all lead down the same frustating path. Once in a while i try it again it works for a day at best and then fails. My phone is always paired with my PC but something BB desktop manager does not "known"/"notice" or sometimes it gives me the same message as you, ie device power off when it clearly is not...
Its particularly frustrating because its not that important but it would be nice to have that option available from time to time.
Just trying hard not to waste a few more hours to try to fix this problem.
    Good luck to you.

  • 1.1.3 causing phone freeze, dropped calls, bluetooth sync problems

    Hello,
I upgraded to 1.1.3 a couple days ago and have had the following problems since.
    1) The phone locked up / froze. I was switching applications and the screen went to half brightness and the phone would not respond. Could not power off, could not get home button to react, nothing. Was sitting down at PC to search for how to reset when the phone just "came back". This is a bit annoying and has happened a couple times.
    2) I have the bluetooth integration in my car. It's worked flawlessly since I got the car and set it up. Not one hiccup. Get in the car and voila. As of 1.1.3 the car had a tough time finding the phone. The phone said it was "paired". Took the car a while to see the phone and be able to use it.
    3) The phone has dropped 4 calls in the past day. All dropped suddenly with no warning in a place where I always am able to have clear, long calls.
Is anyone else having trouble with this? The new features are great but the phone is starting to really be annoying and "PC" like in its flakiness.

Same issue. Found a solution that worked for me:
    http://www.iphoneatlas.com/2008/01/17/fix-for-iphone-113-bluetooth-problems/
They gave 3 possible solutions. The only one that worked for me was the following:
Connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC then press the “Restore” button in iTunes. When prompted, choose the option “Set up as new iPhone.” Once the phone has been restored, re-attempt pairing with the problematic Bluetooth device. Unfortunately, this solution will result in the erasure of some custom settings on the phone.
    Good luck

  • Palm Centro Bluetooth Sync with Vista 64bit

I just got a Palm Centro and was able to go all the way through configuring both the Palm Centro and the PC to see each other.  I created a virtual COM port (COM5) and selected that port as my Serial Connection.
That is when it stops working.  Pressing the HotSync button on the Centro gives me the following error...
Unable to initiate HotSync operation because the port is in use by another application.
This port was just created, how can it be in use?
    Thanks, John

    View Solution.

Did you check bluetooth under connections in Hotsync Manager on the PC? Right click the hotsync icon and goto settings, then connections. Is bluetooth there and checked? If not do so.
Next delete the bluetooth connection on the device and try to recreate it.  You shouldn't need to create the virtual port on a vista system. That step was for older versions of windows that didn't do that automaticaly.

Backup your Palm Desktop PIM (Personal Information Management), address, date, memo, notepad.
Or copy Palm Userid located in C:\Program Files\Palm or PalmOne\(youruserid) into your desktop for later use.
Uninstall palm desktop, and then delete the Palm folder located in C:\Program Files\Palm or PalmOne\ directory.
You need to clean your windows registry for any Palm related settings, click Start > Run, and type regedit and hit enter key or click OK.
Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE click on Software, and delete the folders "PalmOne" and "US Robotics".
Reboot your PC and reinstall the Palm Desktop software again.

  • 2014 Sync problems on iPod classic / Please help!! 2014

    Hello community!
I really need some help with this problem I am having... I have done some research for the past few days on my own but nothing I have found has helped.
First some specs on my device...
iPod Classic: 80 GB (I believe this is iPod with video, assumed on the fact that it supports movie syncs)
iPod software version: 1.1.2 (up to date according to iTunes)
    Formatted for Windows
Syncing to Dell Inspiron with Windows 7
iTunes updated to current version (11.4)
I had much mof my music library uploaded onto my iPod for quite sometime. (close to 14,000 songs synced at 192 kbps) I often like to put my iPod on shuffle and just listen to whatever comes on, but here and there I will skip songs until something I am in the mood for comes on... I began to notice that my iPod was freezing (ON THE DISPLAY ONLY!!! Playback through speakers continued) when I would skip through songs... Once the screen dimmed however, I could once again skip to the next song. I figured this was a problem concerning corrupted files or something similar. These are the steps I took..
1.) Updated iTunes to version 11.4 and checked for further updates
2.) ATTEMPTED to check disk within Windows (was unsuccessful and heard the iPod making a lot of 'clicking' noises from within the casing)
3.) Performed an iPod restore within iTunes
4.) Performed a check disk within Windows and recovered any bad sectors (SUCCESSFUL)
5.) Selected 'Music' sync and the option for 'Entire music library'
    6.) UNCHECKED 'Include music videos'
7.) Reconfigured settings as they were before and made slight changes..
a.) Checked 'Open iTunes when this iPod is connected'
b.) Checked 'Sync only checked songs and videos'
c.) Checked 'Convert higher bit rate songs to '192 kbps' AAC'
d.) Unchecked 'Manually manage music and videos'
         e.) Unchecked 'Enable disk use'
8.) Began a sync on my iPod... With well over 10,000 songs I knew this was going to be a lengthy process.. I left computer unattended..
When I returned to my computer, iTunes was unresponsive... The only way I could get iTunes to show was to minimize a Window on top of iTunes. iTunes states 'Syncing iPod... Do not disconnect' but does not show a rolling progress bar.. I cannot cancel sync, I cannot eject iPod, I cannot close iTunes...
I attempt to eject iPod device through windows, UNSUCCESSFUL (Cannot unmount generic volume while the device is in use)
I 'Ctrl+Alt+Dlt' to Task Manager and End Program 'iTunes' UNSUCCESSFUL..
I End Process 'iTunes.exe *32' and eject iPod through Windows SUCCESSFUL
When the iPod displayed 'OK to disconnect with load bar, I disconnected the device.
As soon as this bar was full iPod IMMEDIATELY rebooted completely and powered back up with only 20 songs synced. (Frustration ensues)
Confused and thinking maybe my screen saver caused an interruption during the sync, I changed screen saver and power saving options to eliminate any possible interruption, REPEATED STEPS 3-8 ABOVE, and started sync again.. Left computer unattended
Again, coming back to computer much later, iTunes was in the same unresponsive state. Closed iTunes and began looking for answers on the internet. Any and all answers I found stated I should restore iPod, update iTunes, run diagnostics tests, etc., etc...
All of which I had done EXCEPT for running a diagnostics test..
Running a diagnostics test: I ran only the tests concerned with 'Device Connectivity' and 'Device sync' tests.. Here are the very interesting results I yielded from these tests...
    Device Connectivity Test:
    Support services:
'iPod support service is running.' Status: GREEN
'iTunes Helper is running.' Status: GREEN
'Apple Mobile Device is running.' Status: GREEN
    Ports:
         'USB ports verified.' Status: GREEN
'No FireWire (IEEE 1394) ports found.' Status: GREEN
         'iPod found.' Status GREEN
    ALL TESTS PASSED
    Device Sync Tests
    Results:
No iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad found. Status: RED
    ONE OR MORE TESTS FAILED
I am at a loss, I realize that Apple has discontinued the iPod Classic but does that mean iTunes will no longer support these devices!?
And if ANYONE has ANY suggestions for possible steps I can take to regain syncing privileges to my iPod once again, please let me know!
Also, I have diagnostics test results saved on my desktop and available to post if required!
Thank you for any and all help!
    -Chris

    !UPDATE!
I made several adjustments to my sync options and made some progress and am now trying to sync in 'stages' as I like to think of them.
    Here is what I did:
1.) Under 'Music' tab in 'My iPod' options I opted to sync 'Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres'
2.) Selected a small portion of tunes I know I want on my iPod (ended up being close to 3,500 songs.
3.) Under 'Summary' tab I unchecked the 'Sync only checked songs and videos' box
4.) Unchecked 'Convert higher bit rate songs to ___ AAC'
    5.) Checked 'Enable disk use'
    6.) Ran a SUCCESSFUL sync!
I am now running a sync keeping the same adjustments in place and have added 6,556 songs. (SYNC IN PROGRESS)
I am wondering if trying to convert that many songs to a lower bit rate is causing sync problems and it appears as if I am at least making progress on this. HOWEVER, I really prefer to decrease the bit rate on my songs so I may fit more on my iPod... Usually most of the files I have in iTunes are at 320 kbps with a select few at 192 kbps. I would like to make everything the way it was before my first iPod restore.. 192 kbps, but this also seems to be the cause of the sync problems I am having? Anyone else have a comment on this?
    Thanks again

  • November 21 2014 Sync problems

I have several Apple devices and it has been safe to say I
have been a convert from the android phones and miscellaneous tablets on the
market. Each time an android update was released, purchased apps would not work
or only work intermittently. By the time I resolved the issues, another update
would be released. My husband and I switched to the IPHONE 5S 32GB almost two
years ago. I also own an IPod that is like an extension to my right arm. I used
this device all through Grad school with great success.
I travel a lot in my 2014 Fusion with Sync. My IPhone has
always worked seamlessly even after upgrades – until now. I have completed all
the upgrades as directed. When I can connect, I am randomly disconnected in the
middle of business call. This is unacceptable. I am very disappointed in Apple.
Past upgrades worked well and as close to seamless to the end-user as possible.
Unfortunately, if this is the new business model for Apple, my husband and I
might as well return to the android world as the products are less expensive albeit
still annoying. – Teri Sims - A disappointed Apple customer

  • WINDOWS VISTA 64-Bit PALM SYNC

I just bought a brand new Dell 1440Z for school. I was super excited to sync my palm centro to it. After lots of screwing around I ended up on Palms Support pages only to find you cannot use a USB cable to sync with a 64 bit windows OS. I don't have Bluetooth capability or infared on my Cpu. It would appear I'm just out of luck ~?? I wonder why I bought a new phone hat will not Synce with a new laptop. Does Palm plan on doing anything about this other then telling people to use Bluetooth?
    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

Hello and welcome to the forums -
At this time, there is no information on whether or not USB support may be an option in the future, so the only options available at this time for 64-bit systems (and this will include Windows 7 64-bit versions) are Bluetooth or IR. This is because there are no compatible USB drivers. Many users have had success in using a Bluetooth adapter, available at many online and physical retailers for very cheap.
Hope this helps and good luck,

"Try this connect the iPhone, let the mtp driver installation fail, then go into the device manager and uninstall the unknown mtp device. If you then scan for new hardware from the device manager it should recognize the iPhone & update the driver."
    Ok here's what I did:
    1) Connect the iPhone (iTunes had been installed)
    2) No MTP driver installation is happening as Windows detects iPhone successfully
    3) Open Device Manager
    4) There seems to be 2 drivers for iPhone that are active now, although I still can't see which one is the MPT driver you're referring to.
One of them sits under Portable Devices: "Apple iPhone". If I view the details of this driver, it lists the following files:
    - C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\UMDF\WpdMtpDr.dll
    - C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\winusb.sys
    - C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\WUDFRd.sys
    - C:\Windows\system32\WpdMtp.dll
    - C:\Windows\system32\WpdMtpUS.dll
The other one sits under Universal Serial Bus controllers: "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver". And as indicated by Joe above, it lists the following files when I view the Details:
    - C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\usbaapl64.sys
    - C:\Windows\system32\usbaaplrc.dll
