I had this problem. Heres what worked for me. Highlight the drive that filetransfer is causing issue. Right Click.Properties. Removal Policy. Check Better Performance. Uncheck write caching. Write cache buffering was greyed out. Reboot. Now works like a

My favorite browser Safari (5.1.5 ) has stopped working. Yes I know is on a PC. But is been very good to me for a long time, untill about two months ago. I keep getting a pop up message saying "Safari has stopped working" I will close the pop up message and continue working but within a few minute, the message will pop up again. The browser opens up fast as always and runs fine but the message is a pain and annoying. I'm running Firefox now , but I want my Safari back . Please help.

I generated the problem report similar to the above screen shot " by way of IE 9 " but will not let me copy and paste the contents as a screen shot in reply to your post here . Copy to clipboard did not work either. I might be doing something wrong. Oh well.
By the way , the only difference is- The Problem Event Name of mine is not BEX. but rather : APPCRASH. Fault Module Name : JavaScriptCore.dll. Fault Module Version: 7534.55.2.1. Try the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Windows 7 64 bit USB external hard drives lose its connection and stops working.

This is a very serious error for users of WIN 7 64 bit only.
I have read hundreds of posts about this problem an not a word about it from MS.
We have tested this problem on four different computers and three different external hard drives using Win 7 Ultimate.
Even tried the RTM version.
If you connect "Any brand" external USB hard drive to "Any brand of computer" using Win 7 (64 bit only) and try to copy a large file like a movie from the internal drive to the external USB drive it loses the connection to the USB.
We even reverted back to Vista 64 bit on two computers for testing but Vista 64 works fine.
This occurs on all computers with different USB drives.
We have tried all the suggestions posted and none work.
It seems from all the posts that other USB devices are also having similar problems with the 64 bit.

I think this answer is a smoke screen, here's why. The issue of a USB HDD losing its connection AND not being recognized on a booting Win 7 x64 in any of its incarnations is a Microsoft issue, not nVidia. I have three PCs (actually 4 but one is in storage so

Just installed Windows 7 64 bit on a PC Encore will not come up

I have a Dell computer quad core with Vista home premium 32 bit.   I have been running Premiere Pro and Encore successfully and have made some great videos.
I recently installed Windows 7 64 bit. Premiere Pro runs fine but Encore will not come up. When the program gets to initialize transcoding it freezes and when I take a look at what is happening I see Encore is not responding. I have a hard time trying to end the program. I have run it as administrator and have started Windows with no start up programs.   Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Whats the latest on PreEl8 and windows 7 64 bit? will it work or not?

i am still using PeEl3 on my win Xp machine but would love to use my win7 64 bit for video editing. will PeEl 8 work on a win 7 64 bit machine. all i see in the forums are nothing but crashes and problems. are any of these issues fixed or not? i hear that the Sony Vegas Studio works well on win7 64 bit but i don't really want to learn an new program if i don't have to. i love PreEl3 but it is getting old and slow on the win XP machine. I have an i5 quad core processor and 4gigs of RAM and a nVidia GeForce 7600GT display driver. i have seen that there were issues with nVidia dispaly cards. is that issue resolved do you know? i could get a different display card if needed if that would make this work.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend Premiere Elements 8 on Windows 7 64-bit at this time.
The situation is getting better, as drivers are getting updated by third-party hardware providers. But it's still not a terribly happy marriage.

Windows 7 32 bit search of PDF files does not work

I have installed Windows 7 on a 32 bit Dell Laptop and I can no longer search the content of my PDF files using Microsoft's search in Windows Explorer which I need to do. I’ve tried following the advice listed on several sites on line and nothing seems to work. My 64bit processor required a download of Adobe PDF iFilter 9 for 64-bit platforms and those systems work fine. All the write-ups suggest that Reader XI for 32 bit Windows 7 has the filter built in and Microsoft indexing indicates it is there but I still can't search for words in a PDF like I could using Windows XP.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for any help.

I will never understand why but in the end I rebuilt my 32 bit dell laptop from scratch and the pdf files can now be searched.
I cannot search them on a mapped drive as I was able to with Windows XP because now they must be indexed and windows 7 will seems not to allow a mapped location to be indexed which must be done to make the pdf files searchable so I have had to move the files to the local drive.
My Windows 7 64 bit systems can search the mapped drives just fine without needing to be indexed. Again I will never understand why this works and the 32 bit machine does not.
