Windows 7 64bit and itunes 10.5 "itunes has stopped working"

itunes suddenly stopped working yesterday. I updated to the latest version. I started itunes and as it was opening and showing messages such as "reviewing library" and "genius starting", I received a message that said "itunes stopped working"...closing program. I tried removing itunes and re-installing....and same problem. I checked the problem reports in Windows 7 and this is what it said:

Note: I tried running itunes in "itunes safe mode" (i.e. holding control-shift-itunes) at start up and itunes works fine.
What can I do to fix this issue? I am running Windows 7 (64 bit)

I'm experiencing the same issue, but I was able to get itunes to run by turning off genius.  I've heard that others had to turn off itunes Match as well.  If you start up itunes while your computer is not connected to the Internet you shoulld be able to start itunes and then disable these items.
I'm trying to determine a root cause because I'd like to use genius.  Stay tuned...

  • Everytime I try and load Itunes it says it has stopped working

Everytime I try and load Itunes it says it has stopped working and when I click on the message it closes the whole program down.  I have tried the trouble shoot compatability but it just says incompatible application detected.  I am not very tecnical but have tried to uninstall the programs and re install them but with no luck.  This problem started after I added a new album but I have now removed it from the computer.  Help!

Let's try something relatively simple. Download and save a copy of the installer to your hard drive (don't run the install on line and don't start the install just yet):
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now right-click on the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) that you downloaded and select "Run as administrator".
Does that go through any better for you?

  • What happened?  Tried to open Elements 8 and error message says "Photoshop has stopped working."

The Welcome screen somes up but then fades and error message says "Photoshop has stopped working."  Then Windows closes the program.
I shut down the computer, waited, then did restart, clicked on PSE, and the same message came up again.  That was last night,  thought I might get a message this morning, but same thing happened again.  I'm trying to not panic - this is all new to me.
    Any help welcome!

If you have not updated to the most current version, you might try that.

Will you be delivering this content from an LMS?  If so, then the LMS should handle the menu.  Break your project into separate modules and use the Multi-SCORM Packager to create a bundled set.
If you are not using an LMS, but ARE serving content from a web server, then YES you could create a menu module that you use to launch the other modules.
If you are intending to serve this content from a LAN or CD ROM, then you could create a normal HTML web page with hyperlinks to launch individual modules.

My centre button has stopped working and my top lock button has stopped working too. I've had this iPhone 2 years now, can I take it into apple and swap for another phone or am I not covered? Thanks

The standard Apple warranty is 1 year. I believe you can purchase AppleCare+, which extends the warranty to two years from the date of purchase. This extended warranty needs to be purchased within 30 days of the purchase date for the phone.
If you have the extended warranty, you may be able to get a replacement phone at no cost. You will need to make an appointment at an Apple Store Genuis Bar and have them take a look at the phone.
If you did not purchase the additional warranty coverage, you should be able to purchase an Out-of-Warranty replacement, which is $199 for the iPhone 4S.

Try copying the QTMovieWin.dll in the  c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support folder to the c:\program files (x86)\iTunes folder. I had same problem and it's fixed this bug.

When troubleshooting system-wide issues with iTunes, try these steps:
Check for viruses. Windows viruses can interfere with a variety of computer functions, including iTunes.
Make sure that you have current anti-virus software installed with up-to-date virus definitions.
    Scan your system.
Check for anti-virus and Internet security software. Internet security software may cause iTunes to quit unexpectedly. Try disabling the Internet security software temporarily or exempting iTunes from any active scanning done by the software. If this resolves the issue, check with the maker of the software for an update to the software or its virus definitions. Learn more about fixing security software issues.
Check for conflicting processes. Sometimes other programs and startup items can conflict with iTunes.
Remove iTunes configuration files. Removing unusable configuration files from iTunes can resolve launch issues.
Check the iTunes installations. An improper installation of iTunes can contribute to a variety of issues. Follow these steps to completely reinstall iTunes.
Update the drivers on your PC. Outdated drivers on your computer can cause strange behavior with iTunes, iPod devices, and other apps. Learn how to update the drivers on your computer.

  • Need help with Photoshop and "Licensing for this product has stopped working" message. Adobe fix isn't working.

I am still using CS3. A while back I received an error: "Licensing for this product has stopped working" for my CS3 programs. I used the recovery program suggested by Adobe and was able to get Illustrator, Flash and Dreamweaver to work, but I still can't open Photoshop or In Design. I went back to the Adobe site and did every other trick they suggested to fix the error, but nothing has worked.
I then tried to uninstall photoshop from my CS3 suite (so I could reinstall) but got a JavaScript Alert: "Critical errors were found in set up. Please see set up log for file details." Seeing as I am not the best with the behind the scenes technical stuff, I have no idea what this means or where the set up log even is. Any help anyone can provide?
I have had CS3 installed on my computer for over a year. I started having problems about 4 months ago.

I am having similar problem.  Can't open any of CS3 programs after trying to download Dreamweaver Trial, which wouldn't work because "couldn't remove DLM extention" error message.  So now I can not run Illustrator, Photoshop, or even Adobe Reader.  These are properly licensed for about a year. I get "License for product has stopped working".  Have 2 pending cases open with Adobe support (one for Dreamweaver trial, one for license problem) since 8/3 with NO ANSWERS - It says answers within 1-3 business days.  Was on phone support hold today for over 3 hours before line went dead with no help.  What is up with adobe support?  Can anyone help?

Hello! You've posted your question in the iPhoto for iOS forum. This forum is for questions about using Apple's iPhoto.app on an iPhone or iPad. Do you have an iPhone or iPad that you're synchronizing pictures with your PC? If so, you should probably post your question in the Using iPhone or Using iPad forum. We can also ask the Hosts to move this topic into the correct forum if we know which hardware device you're using.

  • I have updated with os X 10.10.2 and my built in microphone has stopped working. need immediate solution for this.

Currently I own 13.5" Macbook Air (mid 2012) with OS X 10.10.2 running on it. Ever since I upgraded to it, the built-in microphone has stopped working.
I made Facetime calls but my voice was not able to transfer/hear on the other side. Moreover i tried checking the "Sound Input levels" in the System Preferences and they all are perfect. When i speak the volume recognition bars does not show any movement or change, indicating no Input Volume.
Kindly look into this matter and take necessary steps to resolve this issue.

To add to David Woods comment, make sure your Audio MIDI app is running the latest 4.3.0 found in  Audio MIDI>Preferences> info>Core Audio Framework 4,3.0
