Windows 7 64bit Drivers.

Ok, so I've successfully installed 64 bit Windows 7 Professional with bootcamp. However when I run the Snow Leapord "setup.exe" I only get this message: "Boot camp X64 is unsupported on this computer model.". I have Snow Leopard installed an all my software is up to date. I have a 2008 iMac which Apple says 64bit windows should work on. I have tried installing Boot Camp from software update but it does not work. I have also tried installing the bootcamp 3.1 update from the apple website but because I don't have bootcamp installed on windows so it can't be updated.
At this point I am clueless as to what to do. Any advice/suggestions would be helpful.
Thank you

Hi and welcome to Discussions,
according to this Apple article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1846 your iMac is not supported by Apple for Windows 7 64-bit.
However, some users round here reported success when running the “Boot Camp\drivers\apple\BootCamp64.msi” file on the OSX DVD directly as system administrator (use an elevated CMD line window to start bootcamp64.msi).
Maybe it helps
Stefan

    Hello,
is your board's model number really MS-7633? Did you mean "MS-7366" perhaps?
Please double-check. The following thread will tell you where to look:

Windows XP 64bit drivers for NVIDIA Chipset boards can be obtained directly from NVIDIA.
    What exactly is your problem?
With Optimized Defaults loaded in BIOS Setup, no additional drivers are necessary for any OS Installation.  Make sure your XP 64bit Installation CD includes the latest Service Pack.  That is all you should need to take care of.

  • Audigy 2 ZX Windows 64 Drivers - Where &

Have Audigy 2 ZX Windows 64bit drivers been released? If so where are they located?
    Thanks in advance.

align=left>No Probs. For WinXP 64-Bit, there has been a beta driver in use for sometime, available at www.station-drivers.com This driver works very well, as I have installed it on my buddies WinXP 64-bit rig.
align=left>Creative has just this week released a new 64-bit driver for most of the Audigy range (the ZS included). It is loacated in their Support>Downloads section by using the drop-down at the top of this webpage. The download contains both 32 & 64 bit drivers. There has been an acti've thread near the top of this list throughout this week that discusses the new driver's results. • How to install 64bit drivers on Windows 7?

What steps do I need to take in order to find the bootcamp 64 bit drivers for my Macbook Pro Windows 7 partition? I already know that by inserting the OSX install disc that came with my MacBook Pro, will pop up a setup.exe file, but will the wizard find the appropriate drivers? or I should go to the bootcamp64.msi file inside the OSX directory?
Thank You for any help in this matter...

Doesn't the bootcamp drivers wizard install apple software update for that matter? (I already went to visit the site) Well, do I have to let the wizard run or I have to select the bootcamp64.msi installer to get my bootcamp 64bit drivers?
Besides, I have a 2010 Macbook Pro, I can't certify that these drivers will work? Still I will take a look to the link.
    Thank You.

    Next post: Knowing Issues

    Knowing issues:
    1. Hips of NVidia drivers having issues with brightness or not recognising all graphic cards.
I found that only above mention version working with this laptop / graphic card. I had tried few versions from 178 to 306.97, regular, with WHQL and with moded inf and neither worked.
With generic basic adapter brightness and turning off screen by system working flawless, but you have just basic 2D functions. When you install version 257.41 driver working properly, you get all options and brightness working. However, diming and turning off screen by system not working.
Simple fix is to disable 'Generic PnP Monitor' in Device Manager. With this fix you are getting automatic turning off monitor by system, but losing brightness adjustment option.
My preferred option is with disabled 'Generic PnP Monitor'. Before disabling I had setup brightness for all power options to suit my needs and then I disabled 'Generic PnP Monitor'.
If I need to change brightness it is enough to enable 'Generic PnP Monitor' in Device Manager.
    2. Turbo button and all function keys working correctly with and without installed SCM, except for brightness if you have disabled 'Generic PnP Monitor'.
    3. If you decide not to install SCM as I, than you can use application 'KeyTweak' to assign any action to 'P1' button.

  • I've been using Windows 7 64bit with Vista 64bit drivers. Driver upgrade?

I have been using Windows 7 pro 64 on my intel iMac (supported under new bootcamp conditions) with Vista 64bit drivers. I used the following command to pull the drivers off my snow leopard disk:
    D:
    cd “Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple”
    msiexec /i BootCamp64.msi
This has been working fine although I am running into problems as alot of applications think I am actually running Vista 64. I now want to use the official Windows 7 drivers. I cannot install bootcamp 3.1. I run it, restart as prompted and still end with 3.0 and apple update telling me to upgrade to 3.1.
Will I be able to simply upgrade my drivers if I get bc 3.1 installed and why can't I do so?
    Any help very much appriciated

I suspect the applications you are running aren't Windows 7 aware.
Apple's drivers are just motherboard related and don't affect Windows.
Plus, most Vista drivers are fine and you will see "Vista/7" for many like RealTek and others. You just need to be sure to use 64-bit drivers.
There are "tons" of threads on BC 3.1 and trouble installing and upgrading - whether to uninstall 2.x first and then go to 3.0 (req'd before 3.1).
I'd say 2.x as well as 3.0 are not Windows 7 compatible according to Microsoft as well as Apple's statements to that effect.

  • Satellite A200-10W - Where to find Windows 7 64bit drivers?

I have a Satellite A200-10W notebook. In present I have vista x86 installed but I want to upgrade to windows 7 64 bit but I don't know where I find the drivers because on the website I can't find these.
Can anyone help me? How can I use sound card, network card, webcam and others if i haven't these drivers?

    Hi!
I have checked the Toshiba page and the Satellite A200-10W belongs to the PSAECE series and therefore I could find only Vista 64bit drivers:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
Normally these drivers are also work on Windows 7 so you should try it. Maybe all of them will work and so you have Windows 7 with all drivers. :)

  • Nvidia 64bit drivers and Windows XP64Bit

Lo ppl , im a newbie here.
    Here we go :
Fresh install of Windows XP64 on my new Seagate Baracuda ,
Pressed F6 durring installation for Sata/Raid drivers  - windows reported corrupt files.
Windows then carried on installing fine, rebooted and system loaded fine.
K - time for NVIDIA drivers (latest 64bit drivers from nvidia)
Installed system drivers first including IDE drivers. - Reboot
System loads till Windows XP64 screen, scrolly finishes, and then screen goes blank and h/drive light flashes but system does'nt finalize boot.
Tried Roll back on all Nvidia drivers - no help
    2) - Reformat h/drive and whole proccess again. except instead of installing all Nvidia drivers, I just tried the Network drivers - same problem as b'fore
    Rollback also failed
    3) Reformat h/drive and whole proccess again. except instead of installing nvidia system files I installed nvidia display drivers for my Geforce. Same problem windows failed to post. And rollback also fails to repair problem.
tried system recover and that also did'nt work
    I'm   as hell.
    Any help plz

Sorted my problem out -  After reading 3hours of posts on this forum I came to the conclusion that keyboards and psu's are real NB on this mobo.
My 300W psu could this be the problem I asked myself
Well went out and got a 500W KME Gold unit not the best but not the worst
Reformated my HD and did win64 reinstallation
    Installed new PSU unit
Booted up win64 and installed NVIDIA 64Bit driver manually from Device Driver Menu
Rebooted and wolla   all works fine.
So I'm not 100% sure it was the PSU unit, I might temp a reformat again to verify if it was psu or way I installed drivers.
    Now next ?
Why does'nt any of the utils on MSI setup cd run on win64 or are there 64bit versions available , or alternative progs that I can use on win64 ?

  • W700/W700ds and Windows 7 64bits drivers???

    Hi everyone
I ordered a W700, and I am running Windows 7 Ultimate RTM (64 bits) for weeks. Now that it's finally "official", it says on almost every page for 64bit drivers, and also for TVT (ThinkVantage Technologies) software that The W700/W700ds 64bits edition only supports Windows 7 Professional.
What is going on? I'm running W7 Ultimate (64 bit) and don't know what to do. I guess I cannot upgrade yet?

have you tried downloading and installing the updated drivers and apps?   if so, did they give you a warning or did they install without any complaints?

Sorry, my english is very very bad
    Thanks for any advice

    Hello
I have checked the Toshiba website and there I cant find drivers and tools for 64bit OS. So I think Akuma is right you should 32bit OS on an old system like Satellite A100. The Toshiba website offers all drivers and tools for Vista 32bit and most of them should also work on Windows 7.
Alternative you can download the drivers and tools from another notebook model that is very similar to yours.
Just search a little bit. :)

I had to "downgrade" my parents new laptop to Windows 7 because  they found Windows 8 on a laptop to be hard to use. The problem I'm having is the HDMI port doesnt work, as well as the 2 USB ports right next to it. When I open the device manager, I see that the SM SERIAL BUS, ETHERNET ADAPTER and 2 other things in that category have yellow exclamation poin ts next to them.   Now on the HP site, they dont support Windows 7 drivers. I do not know the manufacteur, what do I do??

So I tried googling the Device IDs and I solved a few of the problems. I downloaded AMD's Chipset Drivers Catalyst Software and Realteks Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program and while it got rid of most of the yellow exclamation points, the one next to PCI Device remains, along with a blue question mark next to Unknown Device (under the Other Devices tab).
I still cant get the HDMI port to work, and I cant find any mention of my HDMI port under the Device Manager. The PCI device looks like its the port next to the HDMI and USB ports and it's for digital card readers for cameras and such. Also, when I plug into the HDMI port, there is no option for a second monitor under the Display tab when I right-click the desktop. The Detect button doesn't seem to work, and Identity just shows a large 1 on the laptop's monitor.

Here you can find the *Toshiba Compatibility Matrix*
It contains the list of all notebook series which are Win 8 upgrade supported.
If your notebook isnt listed, then this means that Win 8 is not supported and drivers are not (will not be) available.

    ****Disclaimer*****
HP doesn't recommend the installation of Windows 7 on a consumer computer shipped with Windows 8, nor will it support the installation of Windows 7. HP may not provide Windows 7 drivers and suitable drivers may not be available for the hardware in the computer. Also, Windows 7 may not support some of the hardware or software features designed for the computer.
Make sure you create your HP Recovery Discs or USB Flash Recovery media before modifying or changing ANYTHING.
    You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "BIOS Secure Boot cofiguration" on the settings page shown below, before you can attempt to install Windows 7;
Additionally, as the hard drive is most likely partitioned as GPT, you will have to boot the computer using the "UEFI - CD/DVD drive" or "UEFI - USB Flash drive" options in the "F9" boot menu. If "UEFI - CD/DVD drive",  "UEFI - USB Flash drive" or something to that effect doesn't exist in the boot menu, please post a screen shot and/or descibe the listed boot options.
I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best intallation experience. If you need Windows SP1, please see "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" to download and create your own Windows 7 SP1 disc. If the DVD refuses to boot as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (may require DISABLING "Fast Boot" in the BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid UEFI enabled USB Flash drive if it is formated as NTFS and may require a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer, or WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, as it has options for "GPT partition scheme for UEFI computer" and "FAT32".
    If you still have missing or unknown devices after installing the drivers, please post the Windows Device Manager's "Hardware Ids" (just the string of text will do) for those devices as shown in the example below;

  • Win 7 64bit drivers

    Dear Creative,
When will Windows 7 64bit drivers be released for the X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro Series? This card could do all sorts of things when I bought it, and now it can do nothing my old '92 soundblaster couldnt do.
The front page of www.soundblaster.com still advertises the availability of beta drivers for Windows 7, but the OS itself went out of beta very, very long ago.
What is the official word? Is there an E. T.A? Is there any confirmation that the required resources has been transfered for this development?
    Regards,
    A puzzled Creative customer

    Hello,
Are there available Win7 64bit drivers and applications for Audigy Platinum ex - sb0090 and External Audigy Dri've?
By this I mean the drivers, Audio Console, AudioHQU, PlayCenter, Mixer, fonts...all the goodies that were available for XP.
    I am using?the card?with Cambridge Soundworks DeskTop Theater 5. DTT2500 Digital.
Tried SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_007_Win7.exe but meanaged to make work through Cambridge Soundworks only 2 speakers, and there was no panel for EAX effects, etc.
I know, I know, they are old generation, but they worked very well for me with XP, and don't want to throw them away.
    Thanks.
