  • Acrobat 7.0.7 does not install/update Acrobat 9 Pro Extended

    RE: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/911307
The original question was never answered. I have the same problem being an owner of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. The solution presented only addresses Acrobat X and the E Learning suites.
I cannot use Adobe Presenter due to the Internet Explorer 9 incompatability issue.

    Hi,
I want to mention that Adobe Presenter 7.0.7 work fine with IE9.
Acrobat 9 might behave bit differently. Please try following steps:-
    Uninstall Presenter 7.0.6.
Download the installer of Presenter 7.0.7 from Adobe website and install in trial mode
Go to  (<drive>\Program Files\Adobe\Presenter 7) and go inside AMT folder  Rename AdobeConfig.xml and application.sif files
    Relaunch Presenter
Presenter installer will sniff the system for a valid Acrobat 9 Pro Extended license and will automatically get activated

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - Print to PDF setup on Windows 7 64bit???

    Hello,
I recently purchased a high-end laptop, running Windows 7 64-bit OS. I've installed my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended software but it will not be recognized as a print option under the printers setting. Is there an update to Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, which fixes this problem? What can be done to have Acrobat show up as a print option? I bought the top of the line Acrobat so that I could MAKE PDF's. This program is completely useless to me if I cannot make PDF's with it!!!
ANY help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Which version. I think it is a minimum of AA9.2 that is needed for X64. Anyway, you should probably either open Acrobat and do the update (help menu) or download all of the updates from Adobe>downloads>updates and install them in order. The current version is AA9.3.4.

  • Is acrobat 9 pro extended compatible with windows 8.1

When switched to Windows 8.1. I loosed my PDF printer and a few more issues came in.
I wonder if Acrobat 9 Pro Extended is not compatible with W 8.1. ????

Only AA XI is certified for use with Win 8.1. That being said, you may still be able to run AA 9 on the new system. However, the updates are likely critical to proper operation, particularly with a 64-bit processor. If you have OFFICE 2010 or newer, you will only be able to print to the Adobe PDF printer. The only full way to find out is to try it, but the updates may be the answer to your printer problem. I thought that AcroTray and the print driver worked in AA 8.1, but have not tried it myself.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended: How to use Windows 7 Snipping Tool to Paste into PDF

Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on Windows 7.
I frequently use the Windows built-in Snipping Tool to copy parts of pages and paste them into other applications.
    Works great.
I can't find a way to let Acrobat allow me to Paste.
I create the snip like I always do.
Then navigage to Acrobat. But the Edit/Paste menu item is grayed out.
I tried File/Create PDF/From Blank File. Placed my insert point into the box.
    Still no Edit/Paste was available.
Any ideas on what I need to do to allow Edit/Paste from the Windows 7 Snipping Tool?
Thanks for any help or advice!

You can paste the contents of the clipboard (if an image) onto a PDF page as a stamp. In Acrobat it is called the "Paste Clipboard Image as Stamp Tool" and is found in the stamp menu. You can then move and resize if wanted. To make it part of the regular page contents, you can flatten the stamps, perhaps with this free JavaScript-based tool: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • Testing Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on Windows 7

I'm trying to install Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on our Windows 7 test machine to make sure everything works. When installing I keep getting an "invalid serial number" even though I'm using the correct serial number. I've tried copying it from the DVD and runnng it from the desktop and I'm still having the same issues. The install is being ran under Administrator permissions. We are testing under the RC version of Windows 7.

I've been really surprised by the number of people who take the time to post derogatory or completely unhelpful responses.
I'm currently working through the issues with Adobe Acrobat support as well and they have been very helpful in getting this tested on Windows 7 RC. Once I work everything out through them I'll post the resolution here so everyone can benefit.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on Windows Vista 32 bit

Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on Windows Vista 32 bit consistently dies after about 10 seconds, with no error messages or other indication of what went wrong.

You have an activation issue. When you launch the program it is going out to check on activation. This is failing and so the program closes. The solution to your issue most likely lies in the TechNote below:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401528
Ignore solution #1 as you are using Acrobat 9. Start with solution #2. Good Luck!

  • Pdf form created in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended does not function properly when viewed by Reader

    Hello all-
I have created a form in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and have an issue because when others view the form in Adobe Reader some of the functions do not work- such as the attach a file button I created, or the save, print buttons (all are execute a menu item). These work on my Acrobat 9 Pro Extended but not on Reader.
I have tried saving many different versions- with security (password) and made sure to allow printing and commenting, editing, digital signatures etc...
    Without any security...
Even tried extending features in Adobe Reader!
The response from others is that it all works, except the ATTACH A FILE button- when they click on it it compresses, but, nothing happens!
I don't know what else to do! (I guess people could just attach things to the e-mail that is generated from the submit button, but worried people might forget at that step once they are past that section on the form and they jump to email to submit).
    Help please!
    A.

I've already extended the rights and made sure to save to activate that... as well as password protected the docs etc... still nothing...
I am aware that those with Basic Adobe Reader need rights extended to be able to use functions available to Adobe Pro.

  • Trial Version of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended Installation Problems

I just downloaded a trail version of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. We are trying to install this version on Windows Vista Enterprise which is being vertualized with Parallels version 3.0 on a Mac O/S Leopard. We get the following errors; Main_File_Version Error, Product_Registry_Parant Error, and Product_Registry_Key Error. Does any know if Acrobat 9 will work in this type of environment?

I cannot speak for the trial or Vista, but Pro 9 Extended works well
    with XP SP3 under Parallels.

  • I NEED MULTIPLE SYSTEM LICENSE FOR ACROBAT READER PRO. HOW CAN I BUY. HOW MUCH FOR THAT

I NEED A MULTIPLE PC LICENSE FOR ACROBAT READER PRO. HOW CAN BUY. HOW MUCH FOR THAT.

Reader is free. If you want multiple licenses for Acrobat, you have to discuss this with Acrobat. The Adobe Store gives pricing for up to 9 licenses. Volume license require talking to Adobe, not other users.

  • Install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from Acrobat 9 Standard

I attempted to do an upgrade from Acrobat 9 Standard to Pro Extended having purchased the software from a sales rep who said I could do this as did technical support.
My system is XP Pro/SP2 32-bit.
During the install I ran into this problem. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/401/kb401731.html. Being stupid I continued on
instead of stopping. Once I got to the section that I am asked to input the Pro Extended serial number and then my STandard serial number I ran into further problems. The dropp down menu asked for which current version of Acrobat, which of course for me was 9 Standard.
The problem was the drop down menu has no option for Standar only Professional.
Since the sales rep had told me I could upgrade I hadn't read the label on the Extended Pro box, which says it's only an upgrade for Professional If I had called in at that time I would have resolved that issue, but not the missing DLL.
I then found out I couldn't uninstall the mess so I did another stupid thing and did a system restore, which just compounded the problem. To make a longer story shorter I downloaded MS Windows Cleanup Utility and removed  Acrobat.com and Acrobat 9 STandard. I then downloaded WinCS4Cleanupscript and unzipped and ran it. So far so good.
Then I was advised to install Pro Extended as a trial and customer support would take care of the license issue. Ok, again so far so good.
I then attemped to install Pro Extended as trial and ran into a printer problem similar to what I had
encountered before, but not exactly the same.
"Setup can not copy file PSCRPTFE.NTF" and issues about printers not being Windows logo compliant I believe it was.
(I have a new wireless Brother HL-2170W laser and Canon MP830 inkjet and just updated the driver and firmware...maybe that will load the missing driver)
A this point the installation was terminated and I was advised to follow Adobe TechNote KB403613. The only item that I could possiblity help with this printer problem is the Hotfix kb-930627, but this is for a 64-bit system not 32? Do I download or not?
I also just found out that I still have some vestige of Pro Extended on my system though the MS Cleanup Utility doesn't list anything. Do I run WinCS4Cleanupscript again?
    a) How do I fix the PSCRPTFE.NTF issue with my printer(s)
    b) Do I download a 64-bit hotfix kb-930627to my 32-bit system...and will that solve the printer problem?
    c) Do I just ignore what's left of Pro Extended on my system or run Winc cs4Cleanupscript again. I can't run it directly from all programs, but if I click
on Acrobat 9 Standard under start it opens up or at least that's how it's identified.
    d) Anything else?

I might as well update my own question:
I followed the instructions given in the Adobe TechNote kb403613 after running WINCS4Cleanupscript.
However, I did NOT download the hotfix as that's for a 64-bit system. The phrasing of the hotfix wasn't very
clear to me, but I don't think when it stated XP Home or Professional meant a 32-bit system rather only 64-bit.
If anyone knows better let me know. I checked out that specific hotfix and said was for 64-bit OS.
    1) Created a new user account with Admin rights
    2)  I did the "intermediate troubleshooting" listed in kb403613 and found a few files to delete and I also ran the disk defragmenter.
Might as well catch any problems up front instead of waiting.
    3) There were several directories on the DVD but only copied Acrobat 9 Pro Extended to my desktop in the new user account.
    4) Ran msconfig and disabled all programs under the start up tab. Once you click OK a small window pops up
and you press restart. Remember to write down any programs listed in startup that are not enabled so you
can deselect those when you enable the startup menu again.
    5) On restart and booting up press F8 to get the start up options and select VGA mode.
    7) Once you in Windows log back into the account you created to just install Acrobat
    8) Open Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on your desk top and run the installer
    Desktop>Acrobat 9 Pro Extended>Acrobat9>Acro3D
    9) Run the install. In my case I selected trial version.
    10) I still ran into a problem with Windows Logo compatiblity issues with  my printers.
I could either continue or stop the installation, which I did to attempt to determine just what's
    causing that problem.
    11) there was some auto backout of files, but I still had to run MS Cleanup Utility again and remove Acrobat 9 Pro Extended.
Also ran WINCS4Cleanupscript though nothing there.
    12) I then did a restart and booted into normal Windows mode from VGA mode.
    13) Logged into my account and ran msconfig to enabled my startup menu and then deselected the ones I didn't want.
OK, I am back to square one. I checked the Windows Logo Product List and found my Brother HL-2170W is
XP, VISTA and W7 Windows Logo certified.
I checked my other printer a Canon Pixma MP830...well not so good. It's logo certified under Vista and W7, but not XP.
I had downloaded the lastest driver and firmware, but that didn't seem to help. I did email Canon. Now these printers had
no problems when I was running under Acrobat 9 Standard.
Right now my only option appears to be to just run the install and continue on when I get to the printer issue. Still don't know what
will happen when I get to the serial numbers. I am suppose to call support and they will fix activation. So I am told...

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - Crashes

In our application there is a case, where I have to make N number of copies of a PDF file but output should be a single PDF file.
In order to achieve this I am using PDDoc.InsertPages.
    Code sample:
    For(loop) { objPDDoc.InsertPages(x, objPDDoc, x, x, 0); }
    objPDDoc.Save(1, FilePath);
It is working fine (or failing because out of memory) in most of the machines.
Result: Output file size around 2GB, no of pages 10050 – Successfully completed.
But in few machines I am getting “Runtime Error” form Acrobat exe. Following is the crash message.
    “Runtime Error!
    Program: C:/.../Acrobat.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application’s support team for more information.”
    FYI - Machine configuration:
    OS:      Windows 7
    RAM:    2 GB
Acrobat: Acrobat 9 Pro Extended (Trial)
    I didn't get this error with XP with Acrobat 9 / 8.
Is this related to Acrobat Version or Windows 7 and Acrobat combination?
Please, any one tell me why this runtime error is occuring. What could I do to prevent this?
    Thanks in Adv...

    >>Are you not actually purchasing the product and trying to run with this the demo/trial versions?!?!<<
Licensed Acrobat 9.2.0 also crashed for our customer.
So here the problem is not the trial but the crash.
Is there any thing I could do to avoid this kind of crashes?
Is my logic of inserting a PDF document into itself "objPDDoc.Insertpage(x, objPDDoc, x, x, 0)" is the reason?
Is it related to OS or machine configuration or some thing else...?
    Note:
This crash is not happening always, some time I am able to get the proper output.
Some of the times the objPDDoc.InsertPages returns false
or else after the successful completion of 10000 pages insertion the objPDDoc.Save is failing.
Please help me. I need some information to overcome from this issue.
