Windows 7 and Apple Mobile Development

On April 11, 2011 Adobe announced ...
Recent Updates
April 11, 2011 - With the recent announcement of CS 5.5 and the previous announcement of updated iOS support in AIR 2.6,  Packager for iPhone (PFI) is now replaced with functionality integrated  into the AIR Developer Tool (ADT), a command-line tool for compiling  applications in the AIR SDK. ADT can now be used in CS5.5 (Flash  Professional CS5.5 and Flash Builder 4.5) to package AIR files, native  desktop installers, and AIR applications for Android and iOS.
I don't have an Apple and don't have plans to get one.  However, I would like to program for the IPad devices.  Has anyone here used the Adove product to write for an IPad on a Windows 7 machine?  How has it worked out for you, any wonderful surprises, such as ease of use, smooth sailing?  Also, are there any horror stories or anything in between.  I really wonder how well this product works.  The potential is extremely interesting.
Thanks in advance for taking time to share your experiences.

I developed several apps on Windows 7 x64 using Air 2.6 - works like a charm!
Most  important thing to keep in mind is that some apps work better with  render-mode CPU, others better with render-mode GPU. Takes some  experimenting (or reading this forum) to find out what suits your  particular app.
I was able to do all our iOS development  this way, both vector (CPU) and bitmap (GPU) based. Did have to borrow  an OSX machine for the final upload of my apps to App Store, using the OSX only Application Loader - currently the only way to submit your  apps.
Good luck (and have fun!) developing with Air for iOS.

Hello- after updating to the new iTunes i got a box saying that i needed a new version of Apple Mobile Device Support and ihat i should uninstall iTunes and Apple Mobile Device Support then install iTunes again.  Problem is I have been unable to uninstall itunes, can't find the installation files .msi.  I'm using Windows XP.
    Help!

Problem is I have been unable to uninstall itunes, can't find the installation files .msi.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • By subscribing to Creative Cloud(Photoshop and Lightroom), does it come with more than one license, and is it possible to install it on both Windows and Apple(if it comes with two licenses)? Thank you.

By subscribing to Creative Cloud(Photoshop and Lightroom), does it come with more than one license, and if it does, is it possible to install on both Windows and Apple's OX? Thanks.

A Cloud subscription provides for installing working installations on two machines.  You can have mixed operating systems (both Windows and Apple's OX).

Reinstalling iTunes and my computer will not dl mobile me or apple mobile support. I went to their support online and followed some
Of their stuff to try to fix and disabled Something and it told me to restart my computer and so I did and now I can't find the page where it was giving me the directions for it bc when I disabled programs it somehow disabled to where I can't get on the Internet. My phone works fine now just don't have my numbers, music, apps, ringtones pictures etc. The problem is now my computer, iTunes, my Internet connection, and mobile me and apple mobile software. Please help!

  • Can i use same iPod classic with both windows and apple machines

can i download audible books, music and podcasts from windows and apple machines on the same ipod classic?
    thank you    joanlvh

Yes you can. You will have to authorize both machines for your iTunes account, and you will only be able to sync what is on the individual computers to your iPod, but switching between Mac and PC isn't an issue.

What do you mean by connecting your Windows?  The only connection you will get is via iTunes to stream your media content.

  • Itunes 10.6.1 And Apple Mobile Support

I've been at this for 5 hours, and I'm taking my pride away and going to the forums for some help
I just received an iPod Touch 3.x.x from my friend, and when I hook it up to my desktop, the classic error "The iPod you connected cannot be used because you do not have the required software" comes up. I know what's missing is Apple Mobile Support, and I need help installing it. I've done everything on Itunes(Itunes installs perfectly except for this one thing) and I get this error all the time.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit(Program Files x86 if that helps draw a better picture). Please, if there are any fixes or common threads, please direct me there, or walk me through a fix.
    Irony.
When I connect this to my laptop, it works fine. I just dont have any music on that laptop to drag onto my touch.

Also, I forgot to mention, during the installer, it says Service "AMDS" has failed to start. Verify you have sufficient..
Yes I know this has been asked before, that's why I need your help now!

  • Windows 7 - apple mobile device support DOESN'T INSTALL

Well, trying to get iTunes running on my windows 7 box, seems that everything installs except for Apple Mobile Device Support which needs to be there in order for iTunes to recognize the iPhone... and it is also required by the MobileMe application or it too won't install. I've followed Apple's support article HT1923 about 20 times, but still no luck... anyone get a 32bit version of iTunes working after a similar problem?

I am having similar problems with iPhone 3G on Win7 x64. Prior to installing iTunes, Win7 Device Stage recognized the iPhone, but after installing iTunes (x64) latest version (9.0.1.8), all that shows up is "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver".
iTunes seems to recognize the phone still, but other windows programs which had previously been able to connect to the phone (e.g Picasa sync photos) can no longer do so.
Reinstall of itunes, all apple software does not seem to help.
What is wrong? The apple mobile device support driver seems suspect to me...

  • Cannot install itunes AND Apple Mobile Device (BIG PROBLEM)

  • ITunes doesn't recognize iPhone and Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is missing

Hi. iTunes does not recognize my iPhone when I connect it to my PC via USB. I found iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows and went through the listed steps to diagnose the problem. The problem seems to be the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. It is not listed in Device Manager and it does not seem to be installed on my PC. I followed directions for "If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed" and I was not able to find anything. In that case there are no further steps that you can take listed on iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes. I then uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and other software components (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923) three times but each time Apple Mobile Device USB Drive was missing. If anyone can advise me I would greatly appreciate it.
    iTunes: iTunes 11.1.5 for Windows
    iPhone: 4.3.3
    PC: Windows 7

See TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5.

  • Bonjour and Apple Mobile Device won't install meaning iTunes won't install

    HELP!
I've spent the best part of a weekend trying to uninstall and reinstall iTunes after it wouldn't update automatically and then wouldn't recognise my ipod or iphone.
I followed the instructions as to the order to remove the different iTunes components, though Bonjour still wouldn't uninstall.
I used the Windows Registry Clean Up overnight, have restarted the computer and managed to delete the last Bonjour folder in the Program Files (there are no other folders left to do with iTunes).
When I try to reinstall iTunes, I get the message 'Service Bonjour Service could not be installed. Verify you have sufficient priviledges to install system services.' This also occurs with the Apple Mobile Device.
I end with a 'The installer was interrupted before the requested operations for iTunes could be completed. Your system has not been modified. To complete these operations at a later time, please run the installer again' message.
I have already changed my rights as administrator (I am the sole user of this computer) and turned UAC off, so there is no reason for this!
Are there any files still lurking about which I need to remove and how do I find them?

If I were in your shoes, I'd make another admin account and try installing from there.

  • Got a locked I-Pod and apple mobile device issue

My 3 yr old locked my I-Pod and now it will not connect to I-tunes because the Apple Mobile device is not started. I can't get into the device to start it and/or even restore it through I-tunes.

Try the suggestions mentioned here: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
