Windows 7 as a Headset disconnects

hi, has someone had (and fixed) the following problem?
-i'm connecting my phone to my PC thru bluetooth
-windows 7, recognizes it as a cellphone and gives me the option to use the PC as a headset for my phone (this way i can use my PC speakers and mic to make calls thru my phone, nice!!!)
-when i connect the phone as a headset it stays conected for 5 seconds, automatically disconnects and if i try to reconnect it throws an error
I have a nokia E51 (soon to be replaced by an X6), and a PC running windows 7 profesional 32bits
thanks for any reply

Thanks a lot. It is indeed great help. Yes I am also confused at having 2 identical service GUID (HID) records residing in the SDP database but I am hoping it may work because despite the fact that they have same GUID there are few key differences. The HID
Device service record is advertised and the corresponding profile driver is installed as server accepting incoming connections to it over L2CAP. Whereas, the other HID host service record is there but not advertised and the driver is installed as client and
is supposed to initiate a connection. Which means that the remote phone will see only one HID connection that it can initiate a connection to. Having said that, I can only be sure 100% once I actually try it out, as they say, the proof is in the pudding :)
For PSMs I still don't get it. I was going through the HID Profile spec. 1.1 and it said that 0x11 and 0x13 are mandatory HID service attributes and that 2 devices communicate on these 2 channels. In my understanding I thought of PSMs as a way windows registers
these channels, there isn't much documentation in MSDN on what PSMs are meant for why we need them etc. Now from your answer I can conclude that my understanding of PSMs was not correct and I would need to add these required attributes in SDP service record
tree as SDP_NODE structures. is it correct? Your confirmation will be of great help.
As I said I am totally new to driver development I would really appreciate if you can bear with me as I would need conformation on lot of assumptions I would be making while going through the documentation and learning.
Many Thanks.

  • IPhone connects/charges on system boot up. When it gets to Windows 7 loading screen it disconnects.

    Hello to all who read,
    I've usually used my iPhone with my iMac so perhaps that's the issue in itself. But now I've done away with my iMac and trying to connect and update my phones music library through the latest Windows iTunes. My iPhone refuses to connect to my laptop no matter which USB port I use. I've observed however it does connect to my laptop when it boots up and when it hits the Windows loading screen then it disconnects.
    So I'm assuming there is something in the Windows set up that is making the iPhone disconnect when Windows loads. I've looked at multiple tutorials floating around but to no avail either.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated as I desperately need to update my iPhones music.
    Cheers.

    Hi,
    Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu.  Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory.  Post back with the details of any error messages.
    If both the above tests pass, try the following.
    If you don't already have one, use another PC to create a Windows 7 Rescue CD.  Download the relevant ISO from the links below.
    Windows 7 32bit
    Windows 7 64bit
    You should use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here.  Once created, or if you already have this, insert the CD into the notebook and restart to boot from it.  Select the Repair option.
    Select the 'Repair your Computer' option and follow Option 2 in the guide on the link below to run Start-up Repair – you may need to run this 2 or 3 times.
    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/668-system-recovery-options.html
    If the above fails to help, make a note of any error messages you may get during the procedure and include them with your next post.

  • Bluetooth headset disconnects if not in iTunes

    I have a Creative WP-450 Bluetooth Headset.
    I have a MacBook Air Summer 2012.
    I connect my headset.
    iTunes pops up.
    All is fine as long as I listen to music in iTunes.
    IF I close iTunes and stream media throug my browser or do anything other than listen to music on iTunes (ie play a game) the headset beeps every 2 minutes for a bit and then the headset disconnects.
    There is nothing wrong with the battery, I can listen to iTunes for hours with no issue.
    I can listen to my music on my phone for hours and hours.
    Minutes after pairing and closing iTunes on my Air, headphone beeps and then headphone shut-down.
    WHY? Its killing me! I want to use these for ventrillo or skype or just watching cartoons.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi,
    Depending on which headset you are using the headset may disconnect to a kind of standby mode. The headset will auto connect to your phone when you are placing or receiving a call. Depending on which software you can also force a connection by tapping the call button.

  • Plantronics headset disconnects after around 30 seconds

    I am having a problem with Plantronics headsets, the model is plantronics - w01a, and the system version that we are using is CUCM version 7.1.3.10000-11.
    I am connecting the headsets to a Cisco 7961 with the following phone load SCCP41.8-5-2SR1S.
    The problem is that the headset disconnects from the base station after about 30 seconds.
    I have contacted Plantronics, and they confirmed that the headset is working properly.
    At the office i have also a UC500 system, on which the headset was giving the same behaviour, but after enabling the hook flash timer the headset did not disconnect again.
    But on the CUCM i am still with the same problem.
    Any suggestions would be apreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Glenn,
    Good stuff
    I see part of the problem here....the APC-40 is not supported with
    the 7961 as shown here;
    Installation Instructions for the APC-40
    Supported phones are the 7942G, 7945G, 7962G, 7965G, 7975G.
    http://www.plantronics.com/us/support/kb/detail.jsp?vfurl=/articles/en_US/Product_Information/RN18651&retURL=%2Fapex%2FknowledgeSearch&region=us&p=&c=All&k=EHS%2BCable%2BAPC-40&t=All&lang=&popup=false&c=All
    You need a model where you can enable the HHC feature in CUCM which is not available
    with the 7941/7961;
    Enabling Wireless Headset Hookswitch Control
    Access the server administrator with a browser.  Select Device>Phone through the drop down menus.
    Click "Find" with no selection criteria to obtain a list of all phones
    Open the desired phone.  Scroll down to "Wireless Headset Hookswitch Control"  Set to "Enabled"
    Click "Apply".  Wait for the dialog box to appear, then reset the phone by clicking the reset button.
    So you will need to connect the Savi without the use of the APC-40 and you should
    be good to go. You just won't be able to answer calls directly from the headset.
    Cheers!

  • Bluetooth headset disconnecting when not in use

    I noticed that when not in use, the Sony Bluetooth headset disconnects from the phone. Didn't see that problem with the Samsung Galaxy Music. Is this a battery saving feature of Stamina mode?

  • Audio does not behave correctly when Bluetooth headset disconnects

    When a Bluetooth audio receiver disconnects, Windows reverts to another active audio connection.  However, the programs that were previously using the Bluetooth connection do not transfer to the new audio connection and reactivating the Bluetooth connection
    does not get the audio from those programs back.
    The only way to make them work again is to close the program and reopen it.  As a gamer - this is particularly a problem when batteries die.  Usually I would just swap the batteries in 10 seconds and turn the headphones back on, however it is not
    possible due to this issue.  Exiting the game would ruin my team's experience as 5+ minutes is approximately 10% of the game's average total time.

    Hi,
    There are 3 reasons I can think out:
    1. Bluetooth driver was not released when it is disconnected suddenly, this can be caused by Bluetooth software.
    2. Audio driver can be corrupted.
    3. There is the problem on the program itself.
    I recommend you do following test:
    Open Windows media player to play music with Bluetooth headset, and then disconnect Bluetooth headset and see if the headphones can work fine with media player.
    If it works fine, the issue is on the program you run with problem. Contacting the program provider would be more helpful.
    Otherwise, it's related to Bluetooth driver or software, please try to update them from manufacturer's website to see what's going on.
    Also, please check if there is any event related to this issue in Event viewer.

  • Windows 7 Laptop as headset with hotsync via Bluetooth.

    No device
    Has anybody tried using thier Windows 7 computer as a headset for the phone operations on thier Treo? I am wondering why this doesn't work. Does anybody have any idea.
    I have finally got my Treo 755p Hotsyncing using bluetooth with my new Windows 7 laptop. And I've got my stereo bluetooth headset working on Windows. But everytime I try connecting with "use this computer as a headset" it connects and then about a minute later it disconnects. My Treo never responds as though anything is connecting.
    I have tried pairing my laptop as a headset, but it never shows up in the available devices screen. I assume this is because it is already set up as a connection for hotsyncing.
    Is it even possible to have my Windows laptop exist as both a headset and a computer to connect to?

    I've never heard of anyone trying this before, but I can tell you one of the problems is that the 755p doesn't have the A2DP BlueTooth profile built into it...
    You can add it via Softick.com's Softick Audiohttp://www.softick.com/palmos/ Gateway.   They do offer it as a trial version.

  • Bluetooth headset disconnects wireless Mighty Mouse

    I have a Jabra bluetooth pair of headphones (BT620S) that I use with my Intel iMac. They work great as headphones since they are connecting via A2DP. But they also have the option of being used as a headset, for example with softphones or similar. Only this is useless!
    Every time I connect as a headset, my mouse disconnects and the sound result I get is really bad. It's like an inch thick concrete wall is between the headset and the computer, even though I'm sitting immediately in front of it?!
    Any ideas? I've tried to unpair and pair both devices again. I also have a wireless Apple keyboard. Thanks!

    "can you tell my why it says that while 2 weeks ago my WIRELESS mighty mouse
    was working and that i was able to go into bluetooth icon and it was active???"

  • Headset disconnects when dialing

    Greetings,
    I have a BB Curve 8900 and for the last few months my headset/earbud connects when I turn it on, but when speed-dialing it disconnects. I have to turn the headset on then off to get it to work, while the call is dailing. I've tried this with two headsets, my old one and a new one. Same thing seems to happen. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Mark

  • Player blocks when USB Headset disconnected during playback

    I am playing a Wav file in my application & using a USB Headset to listen to the playback.
    I'm observing the following behavior while doing this:
    Scenario-USB headset is connected when the application starts up.
    a) Am able to hear the voice on the USB headset when I play the wav file. Also, I get the visual Control Panel component for the player and add it to my application UI.
    Code Segment 1:
    //create player
    //start playback
    //player.start();
    Code Segment 2:
    //In controllerUpdate(ControllerEvent ce)
    //for RealizeCompleteEvent
    if (event instanceof RealizeCompleteEvent) {
    //get the Control Panel Component for player
    Component comp = player.getControlPanelComponent()
    //add the component to the UI
    b) javax.media.StartEvent is fired when the playback begins.
    c) I then disconnect the USB Headset while playback is in progress. The saddle on the Control Panel Component slider bar pauses at it's position as soon as the headset is disconnected. Also, when this happens, no event is fired.
    d) At this stage, if I try to stop the player using a Stop button on my UI, my application hangs. The stop() method called on pressing the Stop button has the following code:
    Code Segment 3:
    //in stop()
    //stop player, close it & deallocate resources
    player.stop();
    player.close();
    player.deallocate();
    In the above steps, no exception is ever thrown nor any event fired signalling the disconnection of the device in use(headset).
    I need to detect the disconnection of my USB headset & prevent the player from blocking, so that I can stop the player & release the resources in a clean way.
    Any suggestions in this regard would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi, did you resolve your problem? I have similar problem to detect when a capture device is disconnected.

  • Why does my Sennheiser BW 900 headset disconnect after each call?

    Although I had no problem pairing a Sennheiser BW 900 headset with my iPhone 4S, it disconnects after each call. It is the only bluetooth device paired to the phone. Any help with solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Still having same issue, only now it seems to stay connected at times and disconnect at times.  My phone is literally right next to me, I am at my desk, not moving around.  The strangest thing is that it REconnects again randomly.  So I never know whether to answer with the headphones or using my actual phone!  Please help!

  • Nokia HS-11W headset disconnects

    I have succesfully paired my Nokia HS-11W with my PB (BT firmware 2.1 something). When using iTunes, i can listen to music successfully, but once I quit the software, reopen it and start a song I get the message:
    "Your headset unexpectedly disconnected. Make sure it is turned on and in range. The audio portion of the program you were using may have to be restarted."
    The only way to reactivate is to shut off the headset, restart it, listen to the beep announcing it has reconnected and start the music. the problem is you can't do this with Skype because you really have to have the sound start just after the beep or the headset gets in sleep mode again.
    Is there some solution here?
    Mark (Valparaiso, Chile)

    I haven't used this headset, but I have paired a Nokia headset successfully. I have also paired a Motorola headset and Motorola earphones, although the earphones only pair using the headset profile as the high quality stereo profile is not available on the Mac OS yet.
    I don't think you will have any problems pairing the headset with your PowerBook.

  • Bluetooth headset disconnecting

    I am using a BT 4517 Bluetooth Headset with my 6600.
    I can connect the phone with the headset and everything works fine however after a short time (less than a minute) the phone disconnects from the headset. I have tried the headset on my daughters phone (samsung d600) and it stays connected. Any help with this would be great.
    Robert

    Hi
    Thanks for your reply. I bought this headset from Tesco and it was sold as a general bluetooth headset and I was not aware of it had to be compatible. I thought Bluetooth was a standard that went across any platforms like, say, USB.

  • Why no Windows drivers for Bluetooth Headsets? (bh...

    I love my BH-102, it's the best headset I've had, and in fact even want to use it with my PC for things like skype, voice chat etc... whenever I'm home. I was shocked however to find there are no windows drivers for it! Why not? It's a massive additional market to free people from clunky annoying corded headset and mic combos. Does anyone know of any drivers, maybe I just didn't find them?

    This is not a problem with the headset but a bluetooth issue in windows, the default microsft bluetooth driver does not support all profiles, you need to make sure you install the proper drivers for your bluetooth chip.
    When the proper bluetooth drivers are installed you will be able to pair it properly and then go into settings and select the headset profile.
    I also had to change the default speakers to the headset under the windows sound settings.
    If you have a laptop the bluetooth drivers is probably on the manufacturers website, if you purchased a bluetooth usb dongle then you probably received a cd with it.
