Windows 7 as *.img?

Hi, I just downloaded Windows 7 as an IMG image, transferred it to a USB stick, and want to install it in Boot Camp.
However, the only tutorials I have been able to find assumes that my windows copy is an ISO image.
Does anybody know if it is possible to install windows 7 on boot camp using an IMG image?
Hope anybody out there has the answer!

How you burn it is critical part.
And the version is likely Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit.
Just a couple of recent threads:

  • Is it possible to install Windows 7 on Retina MacBook with a shared CD drive?

    My school provides Windows 7 Ultimate upgrades to students
    My friend installed Windows 7 normally even though it's technically an upgrade (burned the .img file to a DVD using Disk Utility and installed it through the Boot Camp Assistant tool in Snow Leopard)
    I own a 2008 MacBook which has an optical drive
    I own 1, 2 GB thumb drive and 1, 4 GB thumb drive
    Is it possible to install Windows 7 through my Retina MacBook Pro through a shared CD connection with my 2008 MacBook?
    I tried using the Boot Camp Assitant tool.
    I burned the Windows 7 upgrade .img file to a DVD with Disk Utility just like my friend
    I copied that DVD as a .cdr file to my Retina MacBook using the shared CD connection and Disk Utility, and changed the file extension to .iso
    With the Boot Camp Assistant, I set-up my 4 GB thumb drive
    When I get to the "Create a Partition for Windows" screen and I press install, I get the message "The installer disc could not be found".
    The DVD is in my 2008 MacBook and I mounted it on the Retina MacBook. The 4 GB Windows set-up thumb drive is connected to the Retina MacBook.
    I'm confused as to what I'm doing wrong.
    Any help is appreciated.

    You need the USB SuperDrive or an USB disk to install Windows on the computer

  • Header and Item text details not displaying in Capital and Import PO......

    Hi Abapers,
               I copied the standard PO /SMB40/MMPO_A to ZForm, and customized like changing logos,address,footer  etc.., after activating the form and while print previewing the standard  purchase order all details displaying including header,item,terms of payment,delivery schedule.
             But for Import and Capital PO, the  header,item,terms of payment,delivery schedule,etc..,  details not displaying nor printing in the form.I didnt changed or customized the above windows in the form, but the above details want to display in the form for Capital and Import PO.
             I am getting all the details for Standard PO, but not for Capital and Import PO.
    Let me give some suggestions for the above issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Dilip.B

    Hi Surya,
                       Thanks for your reply.
    I am using only one form for all the PO document types, and there is no codes with conditons blocking for Capital and Import PO's.
    I am using the standard Purchase Order for this.
    I checked the standard smartform, and their is no condition for blocking import and capital PO texts. The below is the  code written for retrieving header text in smartform header window..,
    * read IMG setting -- table T166K
    * append texts allowed to GT_HD_TEXTS
    * Head Text Part
    CLEAR LS_TEXT.
    LOOP AT LT_TEXTS INTO LS_TEXT.
    SELECT SINGLE *  FROM T166K  INTO LS_T166K
    WHERE DRUVO     = IV_DRUVO  AND
    BSTYP     = IS_EKKO-BSTYP  AND
    BSART     = IS_EKKO-BSART  AND
    TDOBJECT  = LS_TEXT-TDOBJECT AND
    TDID      = LS_TEXT-TDID.
    IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
    APPEND LS_TEXT TO GT_HD_TEXTS.
    ENDIF.
    CLEAR LS_TEXT.
    ENDLOOP.

  • Boot Camp - No Device Found - Late 2011 MBP

    Hello All,
    Recently i have attempted to boot camp my late 2011 macbook pro using a bootable Windows 7 Professional IMG File and a bootable Windows drive. Creating the Bootable Drive had no issues, though, while trying to install windows onto the partitioned drive a message appeared wanting me to plug in the bootable USB drive - in which it was already plugged in. I have tried several methods 'supposedly' fixing the issue but all has failed - such as trying different USB's varying in capacity and brand, pressing option during boot up and so on.
    I am aware that many other users face this issue is but it seems that there is no clear resolution. From my understanding, it is not possible to boot camp a mac which has an internal optical drive, using a bootable Windows Drive. However, my optical drive is broken and i am unable to install windows using a DVD/CD. Can someone please clarify if this is correct?
    If i am correct and i am unable to install windows from a USB drive. Are there any free third party virtualization software that i am able to use, such as Parallels but for free?
    Thankyou,
    Cam

    yeah as Csound1 says then if you are not going to play 3d computer games on windows
    then installing windows as a virtual machine is 100% less troublesome in terms of drivers and difficult installs using iso's and the likes

  • Coming up empty

    I am trying to re-link/ re-build a project in iMovie 11 that was created by iMovie in Sept 09.
    It was created on an older iMac and hasn't re-opened when transferred to the new one.
    I have the camera data and the project files and presumably all of the necessary elements. Movies, Still images, Still Thumbnails and so forth
    But the project placeholder opens in the iMovie 11 Project window as "Empty"
    [IMG]http://i51.tinypic.com/2usaqle.png[/IMG]
    The clips are down below in the "Event Library" and I have gone through with Plist editor and ensured that the link between the project and the camera video files is pointed in the right direction but obviously I am missing something.
    [IMG]http://i52.tinypic.com/ayvxl.png[/IMG]
    The project files comes up in the Show Package contents
    Any ideas?

    So having tried most things for two hours and then posted a question.....I feel silly
    I discovered the problem. The original folder for digitising was called MAsterchef (note the 'A')
    and the project Masterchef (not capital)
    When I relinked the PList editor to a Capital, it worked.

  • Refresh "parent" page when closing a cfwindow

    When displaying a cfwindow and I click the x in the top right, how can I refresh the "parent" page?
    The cfwindow has a small form that collects data in a couple of fields then submits in the cfwindow to a page that inserts the request, sends and email and says the action is complete.
    This is my cfwindow:
    <cfajaximport tags="cfform,cfwindow">

       refreshOnShow = "true"
       resizable="false"

    Thanks, Cliff

    This JavaScript will reload the current page:
    document.location.reload()
    From within your cfwindow it should work for the entire page.

  • How do I delete an Image Inserted on envelope?

    When printing my Christmas envelopes, I selected "Image" to see how the envelope would look with an image placed to the left of my return address. I am able to change the image, but I can't figure out how to delete it altogether and print without any image.
    Can anyone give me the simple answer? I'm sure it is staring me in the face, but I can't find it. Thanks!!!

    > I can't find the img tag that contains the image. It
    also won't let me click
    > on the image.
    url address to the uploaded page?
    You have the page open in dreamweaver?
    In Design view?
    Change to split design and code view (see the F1 help. The
    three buttons top
    left of design view window)
    Click the mouse on the image.
    Does the Property Inspector now show the properties of that
    image?
    And the code portion of the window shows that <img>
    tag?
    Now click the delete key. Image gone.

  • Boot camp with usb media

    I have an .img file of Windows 7 that I downloaded from my university's software license. Disk Utility and Boot Camp assistant both failed to image my USB drive so I did it with terminal. However, when I go to install it, boot camp says that it can't find my windows install media. What do I need to do to install Windows from that img file?

    Basically you may not have a supported model. Here's a link to a possible work around. You might try reading the whole post for different way's of doing it. There's like 5 pages so be patient. Some of the earlier Mac's can't boot via USB is one of the issues.
    Make sure Lion is updated all the way as I believe Apple added the USB W7 installer option in 10.7.2?
    Worse case scenerio you may have to just burn it to a disk, but it has to be done in a way that makes it bootable, simply dragging the files over doesn't work.

  • Convert Canvas to Image in sapui5

    Convert canvas to image using controller in sapui5,I have tried these codes but nothing works..Please help me.
    Here is my code:
    onOkCloseButton : function(oEvent) {
      var view = this.getView();
      var canvas = view.byId("canvas");
    var dataURL = canvas.toDataURL("image/png");
    // var window = window.open();
    // window.document.write('<img src="'+dataURL+'"/>');
    // window.location = (canvas.toDataURL('image/png'));
    // var dataURL = canvas.toDataURL();
    // $.post("http://localhost:31651/Registration_Card/index.html", { img : canvas.toDataURL() })
    // .done(function(data) {
    //  alert("Image Sent to Server "); //on completion
    // Canvas2Image.saveAsJPEG(canvas);
    // var oImgJPEG = Canvas2Image.saveAsJPEG(canvas, true);
    // Canvas2Image.saveAsPNG(canvas, false, 100, 100);
      oEvent.getSource().getParent().close();

    Ho to save a canvas as an image in J9 and CDC.
    It seems that I already have resolute by means of the tool Jimi de Sun. Anyway I will thank for any new contribution.
    Thanks

  • LENOVO Y2P stuck at Lenovo Splash Screen

    I partitioned my SSD into two parts trying to install another OS to the newly unallocated partition. Rebooted into boot menu, but couldn't find my USB drive in the menu. Anyways I said nevermind it's okay and decided to boot normally. It booted without any problem and then for whatever reason I shut down the pc. Turn it back on a little later, now it's stuck at the LENOVO splash screen, won't boot no matter what I do

    Do you have a Windows 8 or 7 recovery media? If so, boot to that, enter advance options and do a system restore or boot fix (boot fix is your last option if using a Windows 7 recovery img). This might fix the boot but, the okr system is broken for good unless you purchase recovery disks.

  • [Solved] Gummiboot fails to load Initramfs

    I installed Arch on two partitions, one encrypted with LVM on LUKS
    (sda2) and a separate /boot partition (sda1). I use gummiboot as my bootloader.
    The gummiboot entry which loads the initramfs looks as follows:
    title Arch linux
    efi \EFI\arch\vmlinuz-linux.efi
    options initrd=\EFI\arch\initramfs-linux.img cryptdevice=/dev/sda2:vgroup root=/dev/mapper/vgroup-root rw acpi_backlight=vendor
    After each kernel update (i.e. rebuilding the initramfs) I manually copy
    the images to where the loader entries point.
    cp /boot/initramfs-linux.img /boot/EFI/arch/
    cp /boot/initramfs-linux-fallback.img /boot/EFI/arch/
    cp /boot/vmlinuz-linux /boot/EFI/arch/
    cp /boot/vmlinuz-linux /boot/EFI/arch/vmlinuz-linux.efi
    (Actually I'm not sure if I need the .efi extension on vimlinuz-linux,
    so I copy them both...)
    When this Laptop boots, it shows the gummiboot loader and I select the
    "Arch Linux" entry. With the last kernel update, when I hit the "Arch
    Linux" boot entry, the screen goes black for some seconds, then the
    whole screen gets pixelated with some colorful static noise.
    It looks like the initramfs is corrupted/not found, so chrooted into my
    system from the live installer and reinstalled the kernel, mkinitcpio
    and gummiboot ('linux' 3.12.7-2, 'gummiboot' 41-1, 'mkinitcpio' 16-2).
    I also re-ran
    gummiboot install
    Still, the system refuses to boot.
    Since I get no error output at all, I can't provide much more debug
    information. I am aware of a rather large number of threads but in
    virtually all of those cases the boot process crashes with some helpful
    error messages...
    Anyone got some helpful hint? It looks like I am missing something
    obvious.

    By the way, why are you copying your bootimages manually? Your folders seem odd to me, but maybe thats just a lack of information on my side.
    An loader entry on my box looks like this:
    root@x230 /boot/loader/entries # cat arch.conf
    title Arch Linux
    linux /vmlinuz-linux
    initrd /initramfs-linux.img
    options root=/dev/sda2 quiet rw init=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd add_efi.memmap acpi_osi="!Windows 2012"
    The .img files are simply in /boot where mkinitcpio puts them after the kernel update.

  • How to change alpha value in pixel

    I am trying to alter the alpha values in a pixel array. I can change the RGB values, but changing the alpha seems to have no effect. Hope you can help. Thanks.

    It only makes sense to apply transparency in respect of another image that this one is to appear 'on top of'; this is done by performing a comparison on the pixel value for each of the two images, altering in favour of the 'on top' image if transparency for that pixel is low, or for the 'underneath' image if transparency for that pixel is high.
    Although tricky (for me at least, perhaps not for you!), using the WritableRaster from BufferedImage's GetWritableRaster() method lets you accomplish this. Look here for more:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/awt/image/WritableRaster.html
    Once you have created a composite image of the two source images, that can then be saved as a separate JPG, GIF or whatever. Look here too:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/2d/display/compositing.html
    Good luck!
    Chris.

    opener.document.myform(opener.document.myform.inputName.value).value += theChar;
    how to change it to my p2_message_desc ?
    thanks

    thanks carl ,
    i changed it to:
    document.getElementById('P2_MESSAGE_DESC').value += theChar;
    and it put me the keyword in the textarea.
    one problem left :-(
    i want it to put the keyword where the cursor is for example
    if i have this sentence in my textarea:
    i love oracle htmldb application
    and cursor is before htmldb word and i enter the word (push the virtual keyboard bottons):
    develope
    the sentence will be:
    i love develope oracle htmldb application .
    now if i do that i'm getting:
    i love oracle htmldb application develope.
    i hope you get my point.
    thanks
