Windows 7 Beta installation issue- Disc not recognized??

Hello everyone, im trying to install windows 7 beta 1 x64 in boot camp.
I downloaded the beta ISO from Microsoft and checked the SHA1 checksums to make sure they're ok.
The disc burned fine in Disk utility
I get this error
"The installer disc could not be found.
Insert your Windows installer disc and wait a few seconds for the disc to be recognized."
Its in the drive :S
Not sure if it matters, Im burning to a DVD+R, brand new. To eject it, it keeps attempting to get read, I had to run drutil tray open. Then it said I had a blank cd inserted, and asked what I wanted to do, I chose eject. The CD is readable on a windows machine fine.
The drive is fine as well, other discs work. I dont get it. The SHA1 checksums were fine, the disc burned fine in disk utility, whats wrong? is it possible that I have to rename the file to the names that Nermal was using? I shouldnt think so...
Anyone have any ideas?

^^The one Im trying to use. 64bit
and
7000.0.081212-1400client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULFRE_ENDVD.ISO 32bit
SHA1 = 6071184282b2156ff61cdc5260545c078cca31e
^^tried this also, burned in diskutility, same error.
The DVD's are bootable on other windows computers. Not a burning issue.
I can use my Win XP SP2 Home 32bit edition fine.
I was able to boot off my Mac OS X Dvd, so its not a read issue. Its something with the specific file or disc. I have no idea what to try next. Neither the 32bit or 64bit is even read by my computer. The more I think about it the more Im thinking its the disc itself, possibly an issue with the super drive and DVD+R? Or my Fujifilm DVD+R's? The discs sped?(up to 16x) I mean the discs are read by other computers, my computer reads like all other discs fine except this one, ***?
Thanks for any and all support.

Here's an idea for people wanting to test Windows 7 -
Setup a VM with Sun's VirtualBox. It doesn't have a pre-configured Windows 7 profile so I used Windows 2008 64-bit.
Setup a 40GB dynamic disk, allocate memory, no need to burn DVD, it can install from the ISO.
I'm running this under Vista but should work fine in OS X version of Sun as well. If you want to try running VB with Windows 7 from XP and low on disk space, set aside an external drive with NTFS.

My wife's brand new iphone4 (which was a replacement for a 4month-old iphone4 with home button issues) is not recognized by itunes. Every other ios device on  the computer/Apple ID in question is recognized and syncs perfectly. Any suggestions?

If the new phone has already been setup, make sure the phone and iTunes are both set to the same account.
You might also have to authorize this computer for the new device under the store menu.

  • HT5639 after The Boot Camp for Windows 8? DVD Drive Not Recognized or Reading CD/DVD

after i made The Boot Camp Setup  for running Microsoft Windows 8? DVD Drive Not Recognized or Reading CD/DVD

    thanks for the response
    1. Yeah I thought that's a mandatory thing because i need to be able to control the brightness with my keyboard, updated graphics card, boot camp control panel, etc
    2. No there's no enable for this because Windows 8 recognizes it as a "disconnected device" and asks me to reconnect the dvd drive to the machine (which it obviously already is).
    3. Ive tried those before, also even editing the registry but it didnt work.
It's weird because it never happened before on Snow Leopard » Lion bootcamp driver updates. Just in Mountain Lion

  • Invoke remote diskpart with pipe results in 'C:\windows\system32\diskpart.exe}' is not recognized as an internal or external command

    Hi,
I am trying to invoke commands from powershell(resp. the code below is run from CMD, because it should be part of CMD script in future), especially the diskpart and do some operations.
I am trying to use this:
    "C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe" Invoke-Command -ComputerName "machinename" -ScriptBlock {"select disk 2", "online disk" | diskpart}
    but keep getting this:
'diskpart.exe}' is not recognized as an internal or external command...
I also tried with full path to diskpart but I get this:
'C:\windows\system32\diskpart.exe}' is not recognized as an internal or external command...
can you help me with that? I would use powershell directly but the system is Server 2008 R2 where storage modules are not present..
execution policy is set to unrestricted
I should also note, that SYSTEM32 where diskpart resides IS part of variables on both systems
    Thank you.

    Hi,
thanks for answer. It works as you say but I am calling powershell from within CMD (cmd script), its the reason, why this:
    "C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe"
is being included. And that is not working.

  • CS5 -- Acrobat 9 Pro disc not recognized

PC, running Windows 7. I just installed CS5 Design Premium from the DVD and all seems to be well. Then I inserted the Acrobat 9 Pro disc. The drive spins for awhile, then I get a prompt to insert a disc (which is already inserted). Same thing happens when I insert the Content disc. Both discs are recognized on other PCs, and every other disc I have -- including the CS5 DP disc of course -- works fine in the same drive.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
    Thanks, John

I hit the same problem except I had a Reader X installed not a pro version.  For me the solution was to really make sure that nothing else was running.  I followed the steps from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso2 the link is goofy so here is the pertinent text:

  • Windows 7 installation issues (0x8007005)

I recently added a SSD in the optical bay of my unibody macbook pro and am currently trying to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on it.
If I go to run the installer from my Windows 7 installation on my disk drive through the optical drive connected through usb I get an error 0x8007005 Windows was unable to create a required installation folder.  The same issue occurs when I try to run the installation from an iso loaded on a usb stick. I have tried running the setup through setup.exe /tempdrive:d where d is the ssd with no success.  I have uninstalled bootcamp as suggested also.
As an alternative if I run the installer from either bootcamp assistant in OSX or try booting from the cd the screen goes black and it never proceeds with any prompts.
    Thanks for the help

I'm not a Windows or Boot Camp expert - although I do run XP on the Parallels VM - but I think that you're going to have to use Boot Camp to install Windows 7, even on a secondary drive. I just don't think that Windows is going to see any drive in a Mac as a c or d drive, even though you may have formatted the SSD in your optical bay for Window.
I've not run the Boot Camp Assistant since 2006 and I'm sure that some things have changed. And I've never tried to install it on a second drive.
You might want to try asking your question in one of the OS forums - I don't know that there's a Boot Camp forum (and I did take a quick glance).

  • Windows Modules Installer - Autostart Service Not Running

I'm receiving in my health reports for four separate WSE 2012R2 deployments the below error.  I've set the service to restart upon failure, but it seems this occurs upon every server reboot until I manually go in and start the service.  However,
from my understanding this service only runs when it is needed, which would leave me to a false negative in the BPA scan.
Just curious if anyone else is getting this.
    Autostart Services Not Running:
    Windows Modules Installer

    Hi MattSla,
On current situation, please type services.msc in RUN to open Services panel. Then navigate to Windows Modules
Installer service and open Properties. In General tab, please check Startup type of this service. Did set as Manual? Meanwhile, in Log On tab, please check which account this service used to log on as? Did log on as Local System account?
I check the Windows Modules Installer service in two Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials in my Lab environment.
It seems that this service was set as Manual. Then Generate a Health Report in Dashboard, and didn’t find any error which was related to ‘Autostart Service Not Running’.
If this issue still exists, please open Event Viewer and check if find some relevant events. Those may help
    us to go further analyze.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,

  • P31 Neo V2 (MS-7392) & Windows 7 installation issue(s)

    Hi,
    I have a P31 Neo V2 (MS-7392) with a QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550, 2833 MHz (8.5 x 333) and 2GB of Ram.
On windows xp the system runs and installs fine.
Now, I want to install a legal copy of Windows 7, but the install locks up.
Starting install works, can create the partition, can select OS language etc. Then install starts to copy windows files, still all is fine.
After this bit, the extracting of files starts, and eventually stalls. The whole machine freezes!
After reading through a load of internet pages, I have figured out that all peripherals need to be disconnected (USB, additional PCI cards, etc), which I did... restart of installation same issue.
Doing some more read work... loads of people have issues with the AHCI of the SATA drives. Turn it off, they say.
unfortunately... I cannot find the option to disable the AHCI in the bios... it's just not there!
I hope someone else can help me out on finding the option... but... probably I cannot use this MB with Windows 7, unless MSI comes up with the option to disable AHCI.
Yes, I know AHCI greatly improves performance on the SATA drives, but for now... I'd like to install Windows 7 and start testing it on my system, for future use in the company. You know, testing of all applications written still work, etc, etc.
    Help is being appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Arjan

What is your current BIOS Version?

Your are definately on the wrong track here.  The P31 Neo V2 has an ICH7 Chipset which does not even support AHCI.  But even if it did support AHCI, this would definately not be the cause of your problem because usually, when people have a problem with the Controller in AHCI Mode, the problem is related to Windows XP only (it does not include any AHCI Drivers) or that fact that the generic Vista or W7 AHCI Drivers are not good enough to ensure flawless operation.  All of these issues can be solved by integrating the proper Intel AHCI Drivers for the SATA Controller.  But again:  Your board does not support AHCI but the Intel ICH7 SATA Controller runs in IDE/Compatibility mode.  There are no drivers available (or needed) for this operating mode.

All MSI Desktop Mainboards I know of (that support AHCI Mode) have an option to enable or disable this mode in BIOS.  Your board does not have such an option because the chipset does not support it in the first place.  The cases you read about probably have to do with certain notebooks that are sold with a preinstalled Vista version.  The problems usually occur when people decide to install Windows XP without being aware that XP does not include any AHCI Drivers.

There are a number of possible explanations for that.  A memory problem is often something that causes the system to freeze.

  • External hard disc not recognized

I have been using a WD external hard disc with Time Machine. Today I had it plugged into a USB powered hub when the house electrical power briefly went off then on, twice. A message appeared stating that device was removed incorrectly (or words to that effect). Now the HD does not appear on the desktop. It is recognized in "about this computer" as a USB device. It is not recognized in disc utility and thus can not be mounted.
    All suggestions appreciated.

Answered my own question. Working now. Connected directly to computer USB and ignored it for a couple of hours and now it is visible on the desktop and appears to be working.

  • Windows 7 Pro Install disk not recognized

    Hi everyone,
I have checked this forum and found several discussions regarding this topic but no clear solution.  I am trying to create a Windows 7 Boot Camp partition on my late 2008 MacBook Pro.  I have a DVD drive with the following specs:
    MATSHITADVD-R   UJ-868:
      Capacity: 3.22 GB (3224993792 bytes)
      Model: MATSHITADVD-R   UJ-868
      Revision: KB19
      Serial Number: dE018A75
My problem is that my drive/computer will not recognize the disk.  I have several times inserted the autentic Windows 7 Pro install disc that I puchased from Microsoft, only to get the following error in Boot Camp: Install Disk Could Not Be Found
I should mention that I have installed windows with this install disc on this computer with the existing DVD drive before. I have no idea why it is not working this time!
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Have you tried to install without the driver? then install the boot camp drivers after Windows has been installed.

  • DVD / Disc not recognized Equium A100

I've recently purchased an Equium Laptop with Vista installed. On my old pc (WXP) I backed up a lot of photos and files onto a DVD disc using nero, when I try to load these onto my laptop the disc is not recognized.
I have many files on other DVDs these are also not recognised, I wish to transfer these files onto my laptop. Can anybody help out with this?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi
As you probably not known, not every CD or DVD is compatible with every drive.
This means that sometimes the medium cannot be recognized and the drive cannot read or write on CD or DVD.
In my knowledge in the user manual you should find a list of compatible CD and DVD.
PS: I use the TDK CDs and TDK DVDs. Im very satisfied

  • Dvd viewer disc not recognized

I insterted a disc into the drive to view a sunday school video. DVD player (apple icon)
put out a message that there was not a recognized disc (paraphrasing).
I tried to eject the disc but macbook pro won't eject the disc.
should I look for another app to locate & eject the disc?
This macbook is a year old with no previous problems with the disc drive.
Oh, all my softward gets updated regularly but I had some problems with Maverick
trying to update several times. I don't believe I have a hd screen, and Maverick
is having a problem with this.
Suggestions about how to eject the disc? Thanks

    Hey there MrsGart,
It sounds like your disk will not eject from the drive, and is causing an error about the disc not being a recognized format. If there is no DVD icon on the desktop to drag to the trash,  I would try this step from the article named:
If you can't eject a CD or DVD or open the drive tray
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2097
If that doesn't work, restart the computer, then hold down the mouse button or trackpad button while the computer is starting up, until the disc is ejected.
To restart, choose Restart from the Apple menu.
If you are unable to remove the disc from the drive please contact Apple, contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or make an appointment with an Apple Retail Store for additional troubleshooting, evaluation, or service.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Windows 7 says "USB Device not recognized"

    Hi!
I have the 64-bit version of Windows 7 and 64-bit iTunes installed. My iPod Photo 40GB won't work with that computer, but works fine with my old XP 32-bit computer.
Is there any way to solve this problem? When I plug in the iPod, it says "Installing driver" for a short time, then says "USB device not recognized". I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver several times, tried to force W7 to install drivers from "iPod Updater 2005-01-11" and also used Windows update.
Are there any 64-bit drivers available? I really need to put some music on the iPod now!!

Have you tried the suggestions here:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

  • Windows 7 RC1 Disc Not Recognized

I'm trying to run a 32-bit RC1 Candidate Copy of Windows 7 I burned onto a DVD-R. I got through the partition process without backing up, but when it came to inserting the DVD and clicking Install, I received an error message saying it could not be found and then the disc ejects. What's going on? Every time this occurs. Also, Mac OS X can't even detect the disc and show up in Finder or on the Desktop.
Also, I have no idea whether this is x64 or x86 as a friend burned it for me, and even he doesn't remember. He believes it's x86. Are there any issues in running this?

Redownload and burn it at a slower setting in Disk Utility.
