Windows 7 Clients Not Working With Web-Auth

I am using 5508 controllers, configured for WEB-AUTH passthrough, Windows XP clients work fine but Windows 7 clients are hit and miss getting redirected to the splash screen.
The login page is customised showing T's & C's with two buttons Except or Reject.
Do I need to Pre-Auth with ACL's? Has anyone had similar issues, or any good doc's etc.

Many thanks for your relpy, the problem is that this is a guest network that's also avalable to the public and I dont have any control over the end clients.
After doing a quick search on the net I found this.
NCSI : Uses a combination of DNS and/or HTTP look ups to tell if you are connected to the Internet. The way NCSI does this is either via a HTTP request for http://www.msftncsi.com/ncsi.txt or a DNS look up for dns.msftncsi.com that resovles to 131.107.255.255.
NCSI does this whether you are logged on or not.
Do I need to Create a Preauthentication ACL on the Guest WLAN interface:-
Configure a preauthentication ACL on the WLAN to allow wireless clients to allow:-
1. Permit DNS resolution (UDP/53) to 213.199.181.90
2. Permit TCP port 80 to 131.107.255.255

I have SQLDEVELOPER 1.5 on my WinXP which works fine with database local users as well as global users(OID) authentication. But with SQLDEVELOPER 2.5 and above it throws below error with OID authentication.. local user authentication is however fine.
Status:Failure-test failed:unsupported verified type
Any idea why Sqldeveloer 2.5 and above does not work with OID auth?

It might be to do with the oracle client version or the JDBC version. (for example v3 needs the 11i jdbc drivers and associated dlls for oci connections.

BI Publisher not working with Web Cache

BI Publisher not working with Web Cache
I'm trying to enable BI Publisher to run from the internet. I have Web Cache (AS10g rel 2) in an internet DMZ, trying to work with BI Publisher running on a AS10g rel 3 server in a application DMZ. BI Publisher won't allow Web Cache to hide the URL after login. It tries to use the application server name as a URL and gets lost, since this is not resolvable from the internet. We have Content DB, other J2EE application installed in this same configuration, and it works fine.
This is duty managed as of today. They required an enhancement request, which I submitted. SR 6696835.993 -

Currently an enhancement - it was logged as that but IMHO its a bug as other Oracle products work OK - it kinda depends on whether its an ORacle strd to work with webcache or not. Suffice to say, we are investigating the issue and will update the er/bug soon.

Jabber Client for Windows video not working with ManyCam

Hi everyone. We've been kicking around the Cisco Jabber client and I've noticed a small issue when it comes to video. I use a software package called ManyCam (http://www.manycam.com/) which creates a web cam that allows me to put effects on my actual web cam's video feeds. Primarily I use it when I'm in a remote office and have a video stream back to the main office I can put effects on the screen like "On a conference call" and such so people won't get upset when they approach me and I fail to respond to them. I use it with other applications just fine but with Cisco Jabber (v9.2.0 Build 496) when I attempt to set it the ManyCam camera as the video source in the video configuration of Cisco Jabber the preview doesn't appear. As well when I connect to another Cisco Jabber user they do not see my video stream.
Anyone else notice this? Or does anyone else have a link to some similar software that will give me equivalent functionality to ManyCam that works with Cisco Jabber?

But if I execute javascript:var win=showModalDialog("http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms"); directly in IE, then it is working.

Thanks for your quick reply. Your question is right. I think let me explain clearly my requirement. I have an application accessed in the web. A internet user is trying to a report through the application by giving a parameter as "A". Now using the window.open method, the report is displayed in the IE browser. Now the user can go to history and can see the complete URL with parameters.
If he just copies and pastes that url from history in the browser, the reports runs successfully. If he changes any of the parameter to "B", there is a chance that report will show the report for parameter "B". This should not happen.
Hope this is clear. Let me know if you are not still clear. Moreover, in the IE it is possible to clear history, but for internet based applications, how can we set them.

IDM is not working with Web Sphere

i have installed IDM 7 and make the idm.war and deploying with websphere5. the deployment has success but when i tried to start the application from web sphere admin console the web sphere server stops and not work admin console also.
any other solution.

This may not be related, but I found that it may be necessary to turn of the Java 2 security option on the JVM in WebSphere.
To turn off in WebSphere, logon to the WAS Administrative Console and navigate to Security > Configuration > Secure Administration > Applications and Infrastructure. Uncheck the Java 2 Security option.

You wouldn't happen to be using Vista's Home Edition are you? I work from home and have Vista Home on one of my PC's and it has the same issue when I'm connected to 2004s systems. Vista Home isn't supported. Only Vista Prof. Oddly, if I'm using the same GUI to attach to 4.6C releases, I don't have this issue.

Certificate request not working with web server v2 template on windows 2012 R2

I have tried to generate a certificate request on my domain joined Windows 2012 R2. I have tried both online and offline requests. I am using the web server v2 template.
Both Method fails with error message that the cryptographic algorithm is unknown. I am using these settings apart from the template:

I am wondering if a cryptographic service provider or several of them are missing? They are installed With Windows update are they not? The strange thing is that this supposedly have worked before with another user. Could it be that I do not have the
correct permissions to request a certificate with this template, or has something happened with the server?

Web service client not working with HTTP Analyzer turned on

So the subject explains it all.
I have a simple JAXWS web service with @Policy(uri = "policy:Wssp1.2-2007-Https.xml") on remote secured (real SSL cert) Weblogic 10.3.5.
A simple client is generated in JDev 11.1.2.3 and run on my machine locally.
I'm really not sure I've tuned everything right with client certificates but the thing is when JDeveloper HTTP Analyzer is turned on client run gives bad_certificate SSLException.
With Analyzer turned off the service call is successfull.

First of all, how am I to determine what security folder is being used for certificates when I run local client in JDev?
My JDev folder is D:\JDeveloper-11.1.2.*3* and there's D:\JDeveloper-11.1.2.3\jdk160_24\jre\lib\security
My JDEV_USER_DIR is set to another folder: D:\JDeveloper-11.1.2.*2* \home so I'm not sure where should I import certificates.
To import a certificate I:
Open our https web site in Chrome browser. Click the HTTPS mark and expoer the certificate as Base64 (does it matter what encoding to use?) .cer file.
Then I open Windows command line and run setDomainEnv in my local weblogic folder:
D:\JDeveloper-11.1.2.2\home\system11.1.2.3.39.62.76.1\DefaultDomain\bin\setDomainEnv.exe
cd D:\JDeveloper-11.1.2.3\jdk160_24\jre\lib\security
keytool -import -alias miitcert -keystore cacerts -file d:\cer\miit-base64.cerA bit confusing might be the fact that system11.1.2.*3* folder is inside JDeveloper-11.1.2.*2* folder but that is how it is.
So that were the steps I did to import a certificate, but the problem with HTTP Analyzer is still here.
And what is demotrust.jks? There's no such file in security folder.

SGD 4.6 - PDF Printing on Windows Clients not working

Installed SGD 4.6 with Win2008 Terminal Server.
PDF printing works from Mac clients, but not from Windows XP.
Is this a known issue?

The default printer driver used for Portable Document Format (PDF) printing from Windows application servers is now HP Color LaserJet 2800 Series PS. This change was made to provide support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 application servers.
In previous releases, the default PDF printer driver was HP Color LaserJet 8500 PS. If you are upgrading from an installation that uses this printer driver, SGD is reconfigured automatically to use the new default printer driver. If you are upgrading from an installation where you have configured SGD to use a different printer driver, your existing configuration is preserved on upgrade. If you are using using Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, or Windows XP application servers, the new default printer driver results in the PDF printer not being mapped.

10.3.9 clients not working with 10.4.9 open directory server

I have a 10.4.9 server running open directory and managing about 20 10.4.9 clients. I am trying to have it manage our remaining 10.3.9 clients, but for whatever reason, I cannot seem to get the 10.3 clients to "attach" to the server.
I have the 10.3 clients set up in a computer list on the server, and in directory access I have it set to "get ldap mappings from server". At one point, it was suggested to me that I have the clients "get ldap mappings from open directory server". I tried this, and manually set the search base suffix. My search base suffix was "dc=example,dc=local". I even tried doing "cn=config,dc=example,dc=local" (where in both cases example.local was replaced with my real DNS name). Any suggestions on what else I could try to get this to work?

That's the odd thing though. I've done this with 10.4 no problem. Settings always worked. For some reason though, even though the clients are able to login using a network user, none of the preference settings sync.
For example - I always put a loginwindow message on as a sort of "test" to see if preferences are being set. If that works, then I rarely have a problem. No matter what I do, though, I cannot get the loginwindow message to display on the 10.3 clients. It works really well on 10.4, but not at all on 10.3. I've tried this on multiple 10.3 machines, as well, (and they're both based on different system images) but it still doesn't work. When I get back to work on Friday, I'll have to see if preferences will work for network users; that's the one thing I haven't tried.
Other than dumping the directoryaccess preferences, is there another preference setting that could be dumped on the client that may make it grab prefs from the server?

WL8.1 jms client not working with WLS9.1

          I have a JMS client(MDB) with weblogic.jar(8.1 version) and its not able to pick messages from a queue which is created in WLS9.1.
          I have actually upgraded my weblogic domain using the wizard and i can see my queues getting created properly.
          At the client side when i use weblogic.jar(9.1 version) it works but not with weblogic81.jar..

This should work as far as I know, you might want to try contacting customer support. For now, it might help to try using 8.1 with the latest service-pack.

Usual windows 7 opening and closing of windows are not working with my updated Firefox 16.0.1

My Windows 7 automatically updated recently and so did Firefox. Now, with all other Windows applications including Internet Explorer, I can open a new window by right-clicking on the icon in the taskbar (showing there because the application is open), and when I right click, it gives me the option to close all windows. With Firefox, this also used to be the case, but since the update, when I right -click on the open Firefox in the taskbar, nothing happens. And when I tried to "pin" Firefox to the taskbar, even then, I cannot close all open windows just by right-clicking, and it is a longer procedure to open a new Firefox window. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

Restrict Access To Page Not Working with Different Auth Levels

I have just started playing with the idea of using different auth levels to allow different users access to certain pages on my site.
Within my SQL database I have a authlevel table consisting of 3 possible levels (guest, user, admin)
I am using the Dreamweaver "Log in user" to log in users based on username, pass, and auth level and "Restrict access to page" set to allow user levels 'user' and 'admin'.
The problem, however, occurs when trying to log in. No matter what auth level I try I am redirected to my page where users should be redirected if they are not allowed to enter that page.

you don't need all that bloat. set a session during login of some kind of uniquely identifying id. i.e.
$_SESSION['id'] = $row_rs['id'];
then on the pages you need to protect, check it like this....

if (!(isset($_SESSION['id']) && $_SESSION['id'] != '')) {
die(header("Location: http://www.notinprotectedareas.com")); }
?>
you can use an include file i.e.
<?php require_once('login_check.php'); ?>
where file is name login_check.php to make your auth controls clean on your protected pages.
