Windows 7 Compatiblity Center and Creative

Windows 7 compatibility center lists Creative's cards as compatible, this is incorrect.
Anyone having issues should visit http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx?and chose "Hardware" in the left dropdown box, then enter "Creative" in the search field and find your card. If it have a green check next to it it's listed as compatible, click on the card and then find "Is this page accurate?" Click No and then click "Report a compatibility issue" and write down as detailed as possible what your issue is.
The best would be if Creative would remove their cards from the compatibility list until they truly are, but I guess that wont happen as they wont be selling any cards then.

I understand and agree with your arguement to an extent, but don't confuse compatibility with functionality....
The models listed are compatible, but some do indeed suffer from limited functionality...

A very loose analogy without getting technical would be if i were to say if ATI or nVidia makes XYZ video card and if Windows can use such video card and put a picture on the screen it's compatible, but without those ATI or nVidia driver packages you can download from their websites you lose the advanced functionality you are accustomed to...
Honestly, It reminds me of the debacle that happened a couple years back with the "Vista Capable" (you can install Vista, but it'll run like crap and not all features are available) vs "Vista Ready" (you can install Vista and it'll run well enough to use all features including Aero) psuedo-misnomers... You can install Windows XP on a 233MHz CPU system with 64MBs of RAM but the OS will run so slow the copmputer will be unusable...
Get on Creative's ass about releasing driver and software updates...

Hello. I have a sound blaster Audigy LS card in my computer, it came as a bundle in my Sony Vaio that I bought in october of last year. I wanted to download the creative media center, or the creative playcenter. I went through the process of downloads and support and tried to run them on my computer it either says Setup is unable to detect supported product on your system. Click retry button to redirect your device and continue the installation. I've tried clicking retry and and the same message comes up. I have Screenblast Sound Forge . for VAIO and Screenblast ACID 4.0 for VAIO and wonder if thos two audio programs (came with the computer also) are in conflict with installing creative products? The operating system i am using is windows xp media center edition version 2002. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me.

Hi All,
I am pretty much in the same boat but with an Audigy 2 Value Sound Card.
Removed some old piece of rubbish card (6MB Aztech PCI 288 Q3D using a Trident 4DWave-NX Chip.... yes about 6 yrs old !) in my daughters pc and replaced it with the new one.
Same error message i.e. hardware not detected... ihave already posted as im trying to find and install the right drivers. I have also tried the PCI-slot hopping etc etc.
So what next people ?

Windows Vista Home Premium and Creative Cloud Application Compatability?

I am thinking of purchasing the Creative Cloud Application but I have Windows Vista Home Premium as my operating system. Will these 2 work together. I don't want to start a monthly subscription for something I can't use.

Poor OTA reception with Windows 7 Media Center but fine with other software and my TV

I installed a new tuner (ASUS EHD3-100 dual ATSC tuners) into my Inspiron 518 (7 Enterprise, C2Q 2.4GHz, 3GB RAM, 640GB HDD, Radeon 5450 512MB, most recent drivers and updates installed). Tried to set up the tuner in windows 7 media
center and had to add the tuners manually. It found all the stations I was looking for but many had only one red bar for signal strength. If the stars line up correctly I can watch the stations with one red bar but most of the time I get an error
message. I even have one station with all green bars but Media Center still gives me an error when I try to watch that station.
I then decided to use the software that came with my tuner (ARCsoft Total Media). All stations came in with a strong signal.
The signal used in both situations came directly (I unplugged the cable from my TV and plugged it into the tuner) from an antenna in my attic that has been connected to my TV (Pioneer PDP-4280) which shows a signal strength of ~60% plus for all stations.
Pretty sure it's not a signal strength or quality issue because everything works fine with the TV and with Total Media.
Would rather use Media Center because it seems easier to navigate and is easier on the eyes.
Any ideas on how to get the stations with only one red bar of signal strength working in Media Center?

WET610N and streaming Netflix or Windows 7 Media Center

I am trying to find out if I can use the WET610N to stream Netflix, my Windows 7 Media Center and DirecTV VOD to my HDTV.
Also, what is the best way to configure: 1) use the CD or 2) let the DirecTV HD DVR
Hardware: Linksys Router, wireless PC with WIndows 7 and Media Center, Panasonic HDTV, DirecTV DVR and I'd like to get the above mentioned to work.

The best way to configure your WET610N is to connect the WET to the Router and run the setup disk on your computer and configure all the settings on it (SSID, Channel, Security Key).... Once you are done with all these configuration changes, then you need to Unplug the Power and the Ethernet Cable from the Bridge and then, connect the Bridge to your DirecTV HD DVR and then plug the power to the WET...

Windows Mobile Device Center no longer supported?

I have a customer that has some Motorola Windows Mobile 6.5 devices. They were trying to get their devices connected to their PCs with Windows Mobile Device Center and were running into problems. They contacted Microsoft Tech support and were
told that the Windows Mobile Device Center is no longer a supported product. Is there any truth to that? How the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS still be supported but the Windows Mobile Device Center is not? Their IT team will not let them install/use

Window is off center

when I open Adobe Elements 12 organizer, the window is off center and the tool bar is out of reach. I have a mac and have tried to zoom out to make it smaller, re-calabrate the screen resolution,reset preferences, and completely un install and re install with no fix. Please help as my new program is completely useless at this time.Window is off center

Open Firefox -> Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now you can Enable the Add-ons back and it should be ok.

Windows Vista and Creative Zen Touch/ Creative Media Sou

Hey there, I just got a shiny new laptop with Windows Vista (32 bit) and would like to install the media source player. Unfortunately I lost the CD with the installation long time ago. I downloaded all kinds of files for the Zen (the media player and the drivers) from the Creative site, but I just can't get it to work. I would work through the reset procedures given under the various FAQ threads and then try the firmware upgrade again after getting it out of recovery mode as that seems to be the issue. There seem to be a number of threads with things to try. I would not give up but first work through the various suggestions to get it out of recovery mode. Then post separately re the recovery mode problem to see if anyone has ideas for solving that first. Did it go into recovery mode immediately after the firmware upgrade? Will it let you try to do the firmware again?When I connect it takes about 20 secs before the player is recognized by media player. In terms of transfer to your own laptop - do you have a burner on the friends PC for burning a DVD or 2. Or a slower way is multiple transfers using a USB memory stick.

Mobile Device Center and Windows 8.1 (Enterprise) not working

After a HD crash i've got a new HD. Had to setup all development tools and so on. And because of a new setup why not over to Windows 8.1?
Now the problem is that Window 8.1 will not activate WMDC !? I keep saying "a component is missing" but no more information.
Does any body has any idea how to make a connection to my Windows Mobile 6.5 device? (Psion/Symbol Workabout Pro G4)

Our domain based machines cannot open Windows Mobile Device Center (Windows 7 and Windows Vista). You click the application and nothing happens. There are no errors in the Event Viewer that relate. In Task Manager I do NOt see any processes that look related
to Windows Mobile Device Center. Our Group Policy Objects are very lean and limited, and we do not have any policies that specify how Windows Mobile Device Center should behave. The only GPO that I could think would interfere with this is to prevent malware
and viruses, we have disabled Autoplay on removable devices.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

How do I reinstall PSCS6 and creative cloud? Download center gives me (amm) protocol error message.

My computer crashed, had to restore to a pre-photoshop and creative cloud backup. When I sign in online, every link seems to take me to the download center. However, when I try to download anything from there, I get a message that says
Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (aam) isn't associated with any program.
It recommends thats the problem may be resolved by downloading software, however, like I said, I can't seem to find a way to download the programs from anywhere else.
Suggestions??

I installed Windows Intune End Point protection in my PC (Windows 7 64bit).
I am not able to uninstall it.It is eating all the resources and my pc is getting slower down day by day.
I tried uninstalling via Control Panel->Programs and Feature->Windows Intune End point Protection.
Its uninstalled,and after some time,it is installed automatically in my PC.
Don't know whats happening.Please Please any one guide me.My PC is not even responding some times.

Yes, removing a device will uninstall Windows Intune Center and its association with Windows Intune. Check this:
