Windows 7 Control Panel won't uninstall Adobe Drive CS4

As I am now running Adobe CS6, I attempted to use the 'Uninstall or change a program' facility in the Windows 7 Control Panel to remove an entry labelled 'Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium'. In fact, all that currently remains under that heading is Adobe Drive CS4. The Uninstall process for Adobe Drive CS4 appears to be working but then ends with the following message.
Done
Some problems occurred while components were
being removed. Please see below.
However, nothing is shown below that message except an Exit button. The uninstall process has no effect no matter how many times it is run.
Any suggestions on how to fix this or which disk locations are relevant for a manual deletion?

Creative Cloud help says to uninstall CC apps on a Windows PC to do the following:
Open the Window Control Panel > Programs and Features
Choose an app and click Uninstall/Change
Follow on-screen instructions
This information is NOT correct.  Programs and Features does not contain all versions of Adobe software installed via Creative Cloud Desktop.  It only shows the most current installation.  Photoshop is a great example of why this is so.  I currently have five versions of Photoshop installed through my Creative Cloud subscription.  Windows has difficulty knowing which version to start, much less which to uninstall because the executable file for each version uses the same name--Photoshop.exe.  In terms of designating which file types should be opened by which programs, the problem is equally evident.  For example, setting current version Photoshop CC 2014 (version 15.1) as the program to open GIF files is not possible because Windows shows it's already done that with the designated program being Photoshop.exe.  Of course, all other versions of Photoshop executable files use the name Photoshop.exe.  So, it's not surprising that Windows is confused.  But that does not help the rest of us.
The original questioner asked how they could get Windows Programs and Features to list CC applications.  I don't think that's possible given the way Adobe has configured and named the executable files that Windows relies on.  So, I'd add a question for Adobe:  How do I uninstall versions of Photoshop and other CC applications that I no longer use.  Programs and Features cannot help me--the programs simply are not listed.  So, how does Adobe envision users uninstalling CC apps that don't appear in Programs and Features?

  • ICloud 2.0 Control Panel won't load on Win 7 32-bit

I installed iCloud 2.0. The install seems to work but the following issues occur:
    iCloud control panel won't open
iCloud icon in notifications area won't open iCloud
Outlook 2010 won't open, instead it hangs in the splash screen with "Processing..."
iCloud is running according to Task Manager
I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times with the same result.

Here's what worked for me after looking around this discussion board:
    Uninstall iCloud
    Reboot
Make sure that if you're using a web proxy (many corporate accounts require these) that you don't use a proxy script file (.pac file)
    For 32-bit Windows 7:
In Computer, open Local Disk C:\ or whichever drive your program files are installed on.
On a 32-bit version of Windows 7, open the "Program Files" folder.
    Open the "Common Files" folder.
    Open the "Apple" folder.
Open the "Apple Application Support" folder.
Find the APSDaemon.exe file and set it Run As Administrator
    Reinstall iCloud 2.0.
Note: APSDaemon.exe causes iTunes to hang on quit. I had it renamed to disable it but it's required by iCloud.

Why not just run the ThinkVantage System Update and let it install as usual. You can also "un-check" those drivers that you don't want to install.

  • How to uninstall Adobe Drive 4 for CS6 for Mac

I have Adobe CC on my system and also Adobe Drive 4.2 from CS6 time for some reason. adobe Drive was not removed when I removed CS6. The Adobe Drive 4.2 run fine at this time.
Now I want to uninstall Adobe Drive 4 from my Mac (running OSX 10.8.4), so I got to /Utiliies/Adobe Installer/Uninstall Adobe 4 and click to run it. The uninstaller won't run
I tried to go to /Library/Application Support/Adpbe/Adobe Drive 4 folder then click Uninstall Adobe Drive 4 from there. It won't run either.
So I'm stuck with Adobe Drive 4 and is there a method or way to remove it from my system manually?
I have tried Adobe Clean Tool but Adobe Drive 4 is not list there.
I tried to reinstall Adobe Drive 4 but it fail  due to

Can any expert here help me get Adobe Drive 4 out of my system MANUALLY please. So that I can reinstall Adobe Drive 5. It fail to install and ask me to remove Adobe Drive 4 first.
    Help please

Hi, and sorry that the uninstaller is having this problem there.
We haven't seen this problem internally, and would like to learn more about it so we can provide you with the best workaround.
Have you already tried using Apple's Disk Utility to repair permissions on that disk? If you haven't already, that's worth doing first before trying the steps below.
Here's one possible solution that could be faster than manual steps:
    (1) install at least one qualifying CS6 app, if you have already replaced them all with CC versions. I believe not having a qualifying CS6 app is why your re-install of 4.2 failed earlier.
    (2) re-install Adobe Drive 4.2
    (3) reboot, and then uninstall Adobe Drive 4.2
In step 1, the qualifying CS6 app (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) can be in trial mode, but you shouldn't even need to launch it after installing it.
Did AD 4.2 uninstall successfully in step 3? If not, we'll dig deeper.

  • Why do I have two versions of Firefox in my Windows Control Panel? (again)

    hello,
Updating from Firefox 18.0.1 to 18.0.2 of Firefox has not removed the Mozilla Firefox 18.0.1 entry from the Windows Control Panel list of installed programs.
    How could I fix that?
    thanks.

It is possible that you only see orphaned Firefox entries in add and remove programs.<br />
This can happen if the Firefox updater didn't remove the entry of the previous version, but merely added an entry for the new version.<br />
If you are comfortable with the registry editor then you can remove Firefox entries that no longer apply in this registry key.
    *HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox (????)
If you have a 64 bit Windows version then inspect this key:
    *HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox

  • Can't log in using windows control panel

    Hello,
I have a Mac with a virtual machine where I run Windows Vista. In Lion, iCloud is working fine but in Windows (where I use Outlook) the iCloud login screen is frozen (seems like trying to validate the username) without any progress.
I know it's not an issue of wrong iCloud username because it works ok in my iPhone and in Lion.
I have tried uninstalling an reinstalling the iCloud Windows control panel and iTunes and still doesn't work.
    Do you have any suggestions?
    Thank you.

    I found out the solution.
I previously had uninstalled MobileMe Control panel, what solved it was installing again MobileMe Control panel, a new one available for download, which includes the funcionallity to migrate to iCloud.
Once done that it works ok.

  • Windows control panel routine to designate Elements 12 as my default editor does not list the program. It loaded OK and accepted the key. Your regular help line could not help. What to do?

Windows control panel routine to designate Elements 12 as my default editor does not list the program. It loaded OK and accepted the key. Your regular help line could not help. What to do?

    Hi Robbie,
The editor program is NOT under the organizer path as you mentioned in your last message. The actual editor program is at the location I gave in message #1 i.e. as follows
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
The one under the organizer is actually the Welcome screen which you have probably set up to go directly to the editor.
If you go to the Open With screen I showed in message #3 and browse to the actual editor as given above, it should show up in your list.
If it doesn't, then Windows is playing up again - and we have to take extra steps.

  • Control Panel won't open/Software License Service fails to run

I'm not sure what happened, I had left my computer on sleep for about 4 hours, I came back and I was getting these UAC messages even when I was opening elevated mode for task manager.  Soon I realized my control panel won't open.  After some googling, the problem was apparently linked to a service called Software License Service and it was either caused by virus(but I have avast..) or files that somehow got corrupted. I had:  updated my system using Thinkvantage system update + did a system backup+ ran memtest86+ + turned off AMT + turned off Intel onscreen display.  That's all I did before this happened. The error code I get when I try to start control panel through cmd is Error 34 (don't know what this means).  And Software license service won't start.
*control panel opens fine in safe mode
*ran sfc, there were problems that 'couldn't be repaired'
    1. Is there any way to fix this, ie is there a hotfix available or something I can just download and install?
2.Any idea what might have possibly caused this?
    3. I did a quick restore using the backup I did and the problem was still not fixed.  Will a full restore help or will I have to resort to factoy restore?
Thanks.  *having so many problems with the new thinkpad + vista =/*
    I have a T400(2764-CTO) 32 bit on vista business.

  • Boot Camp Not Working From Windows Control Panel

    Hi,
When I click on the 'Boot Camp' icon in the Windows Control Panel I get the usual warning from UAC. When I select 'Allow' I get an error message along the lines that "I don't have permission to access the startup disk" & the app will not run.
I have tried running it as administrator but the result is the same.
Does anyone know how to rectify this so that I can get this utility working correctly again?
    Thanks

On the disk Management I tried to set the disk with the OSX partition as active and restarted, and ended up having Missing Operating System error.
Fortunately I managed to solve that problem but still I am unable to switch back to Mac.
Help is needed and much appreciated

What is Adobe Drive CS4 and how can I remove it.

  • Please make Adobe Acrobat Adobe Drive CS4 compatible!

Please make Adobe Acrobat Adobe Drive CS4 compatible!

    1. What is the Acrobat feature that you mean? There's nothing specific to SAP included with Acrobat.
    2. Yes, some Terminal Server configurations appear supported (check carefully). All users of the terminal server will need a license, so far as I know - total licenses = total individual people using.

    Hello,
You might not have the plugin for Firefox installed. Adobe has two different versions of Flash - one for Internet Explorer and another for Firefox. Internet Explorer uses ActiveX. You can check if Firefox has the plugin by going to:
    * Tools > Add-ons > Plugins, or
    * [Image: New Fx Menu] > Add-ons > Plugins
In Firefox, go to this link and Adobe should give you right correct installer:
    * https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
If for whatever reason it is not choosing the correct OS for you, you can manually select Windows Vista and "Other Browsers" here:
    * https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
