Windows 7 crashing - several triggers identified with no apparent link between them

Hello,
Since over a month i'm struggling to solve another issue with my Windows 7. Normally i should have done a clean install till now, but i also want to upgrade my system in the near future so i want to re-install windows when all my new components are in place.
So what is happening is that when i try to start some applications or i insert an USB stick, windows crashes partially. I mean i can still use the computer for some applications like games or internet browsers but what has some relation with explorer wont
work anymore. Applications like peazip, malwarebytes or opening of any removable drive remain somehow stuck, with processes open which cannot be killed in task manager. If i want to restart, it will hung in the logging off phase. Only a hardware reset its
solving the problem but then everything starts again.
I restarted in Safe Mode, where everything works just fine so from here i came to the conclusion that it might be something that can be solved and a clean install might be avoided at the moment.
In Event Viewer/Custom Views/Administrative Events there are plenty of critical, errors and warnings but i cannot identify trough them which one is the root of the problems...maybe anyone here can help.

Clean Boot is used to troubleshoot the problem. Did you read that link arnavsharma provided carefully?
"What is next when I have a clean boot environment? " entry tell you how to narrow down the issue.
•If the program runs correctly, this issue is caused by application or service interferences. Follow "How to determine what is causing the issue by performing a clean boot" to determine which application or service causes the issue.
Please follow that to see if could find the culprit.

Hi,
I have a problem. Whenever I open a .txt file with TextEdit, make some changes and hit "Save", TextEdit crashes. Every time! I have a brand new MacBook Pro with a brand new Snow Leopard install. It happens with files in different directories, and the same files can be modified without problems in other applications, so it has definitely nothing to do with file corruption. Console does not report anything except stuff like
([0x0-0x22022].com.apple.TextEdit[226]) Exited: Terminated
when I force-quit TextEdit.
Any ideas?

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it's your User's folder that contains the problem.
Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Test TextEdit in the new User.
If the problems go away, the culprit is in your User's folder.
If the problems still exist, it's a problem at the base level of your system.
If the problem is in your User's folder, I would delete caches first and check for bad/duplicate fonts. Next trash preference files.
If the problem existed in the new User, you need to re-install Snow Leopard. Insert the Snow Leopard DVD and install over your current install. It installs like a combo updater and can fix problems. YOu will need to update to 10.6.2. Use the 10.6.2 combo updater rather than use the Software Updater.

Need help with understanding the link between jndi and data source

The problem I see is wrong url for jDriver.
you have to say: jdbc:weblogic:oracle
In properties what you need is:
user=
password=
server=
Actually, your connetion pool is not created yet. It has problems. Make sure you create connectionpool successfully
first.

Dimension and fact table with a fact table between them

Hello all,
Here is my problem. As seen in the image, I have a fact table linked to the two dimensions.
I would have the number of Id from Cube_Requirements by variant including 'unknown" variant if no linked variant.
How is it possible ? How to create the dimension ? As my fact table has two fields, if i want to use reference as dimension usage, it doesn't work.

Hi, this looks a many to many relationship scenario, follow these steps:
- drag extractid from cube_applicability onto measures area, so this table becomes a fact
- you will have count of Extractid measure after you perform above step
- Assuming Variant is already a dimension, go into dimension usage tab, link variant dimension with cube_requirement fact using many to many relationship and selecting cube_applicability
process cube, you should be able to get count of id by dragging and dropiping id from variant dimension..

When I use firefox and have several tabs open, I can only navigate between them by minimazing and maximazing FF in the taskbar and then clicking on the other tab. When I want to click on content on the website (say a link) I need to mini/maximize again.

If I want to switch to the other tab again, it only works if I do that again. It seems that I can either use the content of a website or use the functions of firefox, (like navigating between tabs, using favorites, typing in the address bar) but not at the same time. I always need to minimize and maximize the program by clicking on the task bar. This goes back and forth forever.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I have several Outlook accounts and want to switch between them but Firefox defaults to the main one and won't let me access the others.

Outlook now makes me sign out and sign back in to each of my email accounts. When I try to sign back in, it defaults to the main account and won't let me type in the other email addresses. This only happens in Firefox, both Google and IE leave the email address blank and let me type in the one I want to access. I'd rather use Firefox, but it doesn't let me type in a different email address. Can I fix this?

Windows 7 crashes when I try to "Edit Original in Soundbooth". Any fixes?

I am using CS4 and I recently upgraded from Windows Vista Ultimate tto Windows 7 Ultimate so my system should not have required a clean install according to the matrix published by Adobe. Any help would be appreciated.

The thing that worries me is that Win7 crashes, not PR, not SB and not the dynamic link between them. This has the appearance of a Win7 problem, not an Adobe problem. A fresh install is tedious and time consuming, but if that avoids future problems at inconvenient moments or with a tight deadline, I think is worthwhile. You have the rest of the weekend...

Adobe Reader XI crashes on PPKLite.api with failure CryptFindLocalizedName.

When Other language version Adobe reader XI is installed to English version Windows, it crashes on PPKLite.api with failure CryptFindLocalizedName.
It doesn't have the check routine which it is null, and it crashes because it calls 'wcslen(NULL)'

My environment XPSP3 with changing user and system locale to Japanese.
But , It is resolved.
It becomes no error when I install MUI version Reader XI.

I'm not sure I've got a grasp on the issue you are having but let me give it a try
Website A is finished and you have uploaded it to the Internet, so it is LIVE.
You make a copy of Website A, and call it Website B, then make all required changes.
IF you uploaded Website B, then it is likely you will overwrite Website A. You must instead, upload Website B as a separate Website.
To publish to a new site:
Click Publish.
Then click the expansion triangle left of Options.
Change Publish To setting to New Site
fill out rest of required details, and click OK to publish.
You'll now have two separate web-sites.
If you need to link between them, use absolute hyperlinks (the full URL).

I'm running Mozilla firefox 32.0.3 a laptop with Windows 7 Professi 64 bit. Firefox crashes several times a day, please help.

I'm running Mozilla firefox 32.0.3 (most updated version) on a laptop with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Since downloading, Firefox crashes after an hour, does the same in safe mode. I already reset my browser to the default settings but that did not solve the issue. What can be causing the problem? I have used this extension with previous versions of Firefox and had no issues. Why is this a problem on the latest version? Do you know of another "TimeLineRemove" extension that will work with this version of Firefox? Will reverting to an earlier version of Firefox solve this issue allowing me to continue using "TimeLineRemove"?

Windows 7 Crash (Blue Screen) with Skype 6.18 on H...

I think a lot of people are having the same problem with Skype 6.18 on HP Pavilion notebooks.
Windows 7 crashes during the auto-update or installation of 6.18
After about 3-4 hours of troubleshooting the Blue Screen / service exception error (in ks.sys) I discovered that it's caused by the HP HD Webcam [Fixed] driver (version is 6.0.1113.1 released 2012-11-20 (or 20-11-2012)).
The driver is written by Sonix and is unlikely to be updated. So you have the choice of going back to an older version of Skype or disabling the webcam / driver through Device Manager. As soon as you disable the driver / device Skype will install / start - but of course you won't be able to use video during Skype calls.
Hopefully Microsoft / Skype will fix the driver incompatibility in a future release.
Skype Support - the issue is with the HP / Sonix driver - file is snp2uvc.sys
There are similar issues reported with a previous version of the HP HD Webcam driver as well (SPUVCBv_x64.sys).
Please fix it. I'd like to use video in calls again!

The best working solution at this time is to download and install Skype 6.14 and disable updates. If you still get prompts to upgrade you can ignore them and the program should continue to function as it has not been retired as of yet. Hopefully there will be a resolution in a future Skype update or an updated driver from HP that might resolve the issue.

Help! Windows Explorer crashes regularly when using "SharePoint" directory synced with OneDrive for Business

We are using SharePoint 2013 and I want to sync document libraries with
OneDrive for Business with my PC running Windows 7.
In general, it works, but my Windows Explorer crashes very often (after a few minutes) when I navigate in the synced directories and open files there (or copy files into them in Windows Explorer).
How can I find out what happens and how to avoid it?
remark:
We are still using Office 2007, so I installed only OneDrive for Business from the Office 2013 DVD and
deactivated all other components like Office 2013 by hand:
(so for example, the shared office feature or MS Info Path etc. were not installed)
Is there a crash log, where I can find more information about the crash?
Does OneDrive maybe need other components to be installed and can I install them without damaging my existing Office 2007 setup?

Did you check your Event Viewer for any errors during the time when Windows Explorer crashed?

The Log file says the following, so it seems to be WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\btncopy.dll
to be responsible for the crashing Windows Explorer

Windows 7 crash from iphone 6 plus sync with itunes 12.1.1.4
