Windows 7 Display driver MBP 2011

Hello, I just purchased my new mac book pro 13' late july of this year and finally got around to installing windows 7 on this machine for my gaming laptop is dead.
I followed the instructions in bootcamp and burned a disc with the bootcamp software and installed it on windows and now everything works as far as keyboard and trackpad and I assume my display driver is working. I am able to WoW , Rift, EvE, and LoL fine with no lag and great texture quality. However I bought Metro 2033 off steam and when I attempted to run it I am getting a D3D error with my display driver. Now from what I understood these MBP are running GPUs from Nvidia? However I am not sure. Anyhow this error can be resolved by installing the most current up to date GPU drivers for my system, and I am having alot of trouble finding the driver under support.
When I goto nvidia driver scan it returns with check apple for most up to date drivers.
Any advice would be great, thanks.

Hi
First of all you should find out what graphic card is built-in.
Install an free hardware diagnostic tool. You could use Everest Home Edit. for example.
This would help you to get more details about your GPU.
After that you could investigate a little bit what Toshiba notebooks have been equipped with the same graphic card chip.
I noticed that many series use the same devices like the same graphic card or chipset
Anyway. The Toshiba US driver page contains many Win 7 drivers you will find also some Win 7 drivers on Toshiba European driver page
Download the ATI driver for a notebook which has been equipped with the same graphic chip and you would get the compatible one!
Then install the driver in device manager! Yes, go to device manager and use the advanced installation this allows you to point to the ATI driver files.
This installation procedure should work

  • Slimline S5-1114 pc crashes after I update windows display driver

    Hello
Ive ran into an odd situation here.  I decided to reformat my pc and did a clean windows reformat. All worked okay. Then I proceeded to download drivers from HPs site. Again no issues. Then I install the display driver which then prompts me to restart windows. I do so and then windows crashes. Says I need to "repair" or reinstall windows. If I attempt to start normally I get a blue screen error. I cant catch the exact error because it moves quickly. This happens only when I attempt to install the display driver. Any advice? I dont want to be sitting on a generic driver for display. Thanks in advance.

    Hi:
Does the version of W7 you installed include SP1?
If not, please update to SP 1 first and reinstall the Intel graphics driver.
There was a known issue with some of the HP business desktops from the same era exhibiting the same symptoms and installing the W7 SP 1 update before installing the graphics driver seems to resolve that crashing problem.

  • Windows 8 on mbp 2011 sound driver failed

everything looks good except the sound driver.
the Windows Support was downloaded from the OSX's bootcamp assistant.

    thanks.

download; and installed. But lack of audio is almost normal w/o installing audio device driver afterwards.
    AUDIO FIX
I experienced zero audio output from my iMac's speakers with limited output using headphones.
Insert the installer disc for Snow Leopard while in Windows
    Open the "Bootcamp" folder
    Open the "Drivers" folder
    Open the "Cirrus" folder
Double click and install the "CirrusAudioVista64" driver (or what is applicable to your system)
    Restart your computer
If these steps don't work, uninstall the current driver by going to your Device Manager in Control Panel.

Windows 8 and Boot Camp Control Panel - when trying to launch the "Boot Camp Control Panel", but I just stumpled upon a solution. I created a new Windows user, that was not Administrator. When I logged in Boot Camp updateded something and asked me to restart the computer. After restarting and logging in with my new user, I could start the "Boot Camp Control Panel" configure tap to click and use F1-F12 as function keys. Then I changed the new account to Administrator and now the control panel can not be startet again... but my settings remained... only on the new user only though. ---------
To make the trackpad work. You need to install trackpad++
(http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4967-trackpad-control-module.html), it will enable the trackpad driver on boot camp. After you install the trackpad++, trackpad++ will complain something. ingnore it.  You should be able to enable trackpad. And you can now even uninstall the  trackpad++, the trackpad will sill work.
brightness, what graphics card are you using? It might be due to the auto adjusting brightness running there. You can go to your power options, edit the one you are using  (Change plan settings >> Change advanced power settings) and look for Batteries >> Enable adaptive brightness and disable the one you are using. After that, the scrollbar for adjusting brightness in power options should work again.
There are more but those are most common. You don't have Intel 3000/4000 graphics though.

  • Windows Display Driver Problem.. Please Help!!

    Hi,
I get a blue screen with this message..
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
The problem seems to be caused by the following file: ati2dvag
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates problems with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly.
Please check with your hardware device vendor for any device updates.

The computer is fine just browsing the internet for example, but if I use a CAD package it will crash. Today it crashed just opening a Word document..
The OS is Windows XP SP2 installed on a 24" Intel Imac.
I've also installed the latest drivers from this link:

Note crashing happened before I installed these drivers too.
Graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT
    Any help would be great!

If you are running Windows using Boot Camp I'd recommend re-posting in the Boot Camp forum. You can find that forum at:

If you are running Windows using Parallels or Fusion then you should post there.
I would think your chances of finding your answer would be with those that are running Windows.

  • Black screen in Win 7 with intel HD driver display on MBP

I'm getting black screen in Win 7. This is very weird - the only help is uninstall intel HD graphics driver (everything is fine under standard VGA windows supplied driver- MBP i7 13.3') or use external display through HDMI. Any suggestion how to fix this?

    Hi,
    i have the same issue.
You need to restore Win7 before this installation
and install 260.99 version of the driver.
It seems to be the more recent one that works with Apple hardware at this time.

  • Ever seen the error "ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally"?

Have a user who hasn't used E-test in about a year. He has version 8.01.0249 with IE 7.0 and is getting an error running a script: "Windows display driver stopped responding. The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally . . . .".
On a different machine with E-test 7.0 with IE 7.0, the same script works fine.
Should I have him upgrade to version 8.20.0526? Also, assuming I upgrade his version, why does the same script work with E-test 7.0?
    THANKS!

    Hi,
It would be better to upgrade to version 8.20.0526. Prior to eTest Suite 8.20.x there was no support for IE 7. There were some cases where eTest Suite would work with IE 7, but it was not consistent since the product did not has IE 7 contemplated in the design. That can explain why it works with e-Test Suite 7.0.
Additionally in 8.20.526 there are several additional features that makes the tasks easier, and there are several bug corrections that can save you time when troubleshooting scripts.
If you are planning to use eTester for Load testing scripts I would recommend moving to 8.20.0569, which has additional bug fixes that can save you a call to support.
You may want to contact your Empirix Sales Rep in order to know if your license would work with the latest version of e-Test Suite or just install it and try the license.
Once you install e-Test Suite 8.20 make a quick test to see if it works with your web application, then, consider the alternative of upgrading all the other computers that will have eTest Suite. It's better to work in a consistent environment where everybody has the same version because you will ensure compatibility of scripts and configuration settings, it will be easier to maintain your environment, and it will be easier to troubleshoot computer problems since you should all have the same configuration.
e-Test Suite 7.0 may not be supported since it's older than two releases than the current one, even if the script work with e-Test Suite 7.0 I would look for the upgrade.

  • Better Display Driver under Windows 8 than Windows 7 for MacBook Pro Retina?

Anyone happen to know if the display support for a MacBook Pro Retina is better under Windows 8 than it is under Windows 7?
Ideally, I would like to be able to run 2880x1800 at True Color as well as have the HDMI out fuction as a second display (maching the behaviour while booted under Max OS X 10.8).
Under Windows 7, the highest resolution that supports True Color is 1600x1200.  This would be okay if that setting did not distort the picture (everything is slightly squeezed).  At 2880x1800, the highest color depth is High Color (16-bit) which is, well, not something one can actually use if doing graphics work.  On my 27" iMac, 2680x1600 supports True Color as expected.
Also under Windows 7, the display connected via HDMI is not recognized.
I've contected both Apple care support and Microsoft support about this, but Apple referred me to Microsoft and Microsoft referrred me back to Apple.
    Thanks,
    Warren
P.S. Personally, I think it's rediculous to even attempt to do graphics work under Windows, but tell that to the Windwows based corporate world that I freelance in.

Yes, there is a better display driver for the MacBook Pro Retina while running Windows 7 Pro.
And, the answer is so obvious, that I feel a little silly having started this thread in the first place!
The Windows 7 Professional NVIDIA drivers for the NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M card need to be installed manually by downloading them from NVIDIA directly.
If you need to do this on your MBPr Boot Camp volume, use this link:
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Then, set the pop-up menus based on your MBPr. [Mine were as follows: GeForce; GeForce 600M Series (Notbooks); GeForce GT 650M; Windows 7 64-bit: English (US)]
What tipped me off to this is that the CUDA drivers need to be downloaded manually on the Mac OS X side to take full advantage of raytracing in Adobe After Effects CS6 and CC.  As soon as I started to run that installer it dawned on me, "Hey, you probably need to install the drivers on the Boot Camp side as well."  And sure enough after doing so, I am able select all of the expected resolutions as well as run 2880 x 1800 at Millions of Colors (32-bit).
I guess I'm showing my nearly three decades worth of being a Mac user where I'm accustomed to having about everything needed included with the OS.

  • Photoshop CS6 x64, Windows 8 64-bit and an error in my display driver

So I have 64-bit Windows 8, 64-bit Photoshop CS6 and an ATI Radeon HD 4770 GPU. When I go to the settings in PS, it tells me that there is a problem with my display driver so I cannot use GPU graphics processing. • Display Driver crashes in Windows 8.1 on late 2013 macbook

I have been able to install Windows 8.1 on my new 15 inch MacBook with Mavericks and Nvidia GPU. I installed windows along with the bootcamp drivers. The issue I am having now is that the machine complains that "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered".
This is happening every 30 seconds at its worst. When I have tried installing windows 8.1 earlier, rebooting resulted in windows booting to a black screen.
I have tried running windows updates but the same thing happens and after restarting the machine, windows just boots to a black screen. I have tried installing windows but not running any updates and the same thing happens. This is now my 3rd attempt in which I tried installing nvidia drivers direct from the nvidia website (331.65-notebook-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql) but the installer complains about incompatible hardware.
Is there any way to get windows to behave?
For refrence, I installed windows the following way:
Creating an iso from my windows 8.1 dvd on a windows machine.
Use bootcamp assist to create a bootable usb from the iso, allowing it to download boot camp drivers.
Splitting the hardrive into 2 partitions inside bootcamp assist.
After the computer reboots to install windows, I then rebooted back into OSx and went into disk utility. I reformatted the bootcamp partition. I also added 2 more partitions that I later plan to put linux on.
Restarted the notebook, booting from the bootable usb. Followed the windows 8.1 install prompts including formatting the bootcamp partition. Machine rebooted many times.
Allow the installer to install bootcamp drivers.
Restart and windows 8.1 was installed.

    The Solution
The section about installing nvidia drivers worked flawlessly!
    Download the latest nvidia driver.
Unpack/run it on your local harddrive(note where!), it won't install at this point"You need a modified .inf file to make the installer work"
Go to: www.laptopvideo2go.com - Windows 8 Nvidia 314.22 WHQL .inf File
Locate the inf file for the driver version you downloaded in step 1. Save the inf file locally
"Copy the downloaded .inf file into the Nvidia installer folders at: C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\314.22*\Win8_WinVista_Win7_64\International\Display.Dri ver (when asked if you want to replace the file say yes)." *note that driver version may differ
    Run C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\314.22*\Win8_WinVista_Win7_64\International\setup.exe
You are probably done by now!
If problems still occur, go to Device Manager
Locate Monitors -> Generic PnP Monitor
    right click and choose disable
    My Problem
My screen went black on startup. I think some kind om Windows 8 update, was the cause.
Anyhow, uninstalling the nvidia drivers in safe mode* "solved" the black screen problem.
*Getting into safe mode was the most terrible part since shift + F8 wouldn't work for me at all(were I too slow?).

  • Display driver for IBM Thinkpad T60 on Windows 7

    Hi,
I've just installed windows 7 on my T60. It seems that the display driver (Intel GMA 950) is not behaving the way it used to behave in windows XP. I tried to install everything I could find on the support web site. They say that the support for display driver for T60 has been dropped for Windows Vista onwards. Is there any fix for this problem?
    Any help is appreciated...
    Thanks,
    Harsh

The Win 7 is still in beta version, there is still no official support for it.... I don't think Intel will drop support for the GMA 950 GPU, as this way a lot of relatively new laptop will still be useless.
