Windows 7 does not boot anymore

Hi,
I have windows 7 operating system installed in my notebook. But suddenly my notebook is not booting anymore. I do have a backup image saved in a external hard drive, but can not install windows from there.
How can I re install windows 7 as I do not have a backup DVD.
Can anyone help me out?

Hay Munir
And how you have installed Win7 for the first time?
Jeka is absolutely right. You cannot start OS installation from image saved on external HDD.
I dont know which notebook model do you have but for Win7 installation you can use Microsoft installation disc. If your notebook model is supported for Win7 all necessary drivers, tools and utilities you can find on Toshiba support page. Just follow the link given by Jeka.

  • Mail window does not close anymore

When I press the red dot or type CMD-W, the mail window does not close anymore. It just stays open, everything else works as usual. Any ideas, how to close the window again?
    TIA

Look at the bottom frame of the Mail window; it may display a small dot thingie in the middle of its bar, something like this -
If so, try clicking on that dot and dragging upward.
If that works, you should have both panes present again. You can adjust the size of the window as a whole by dragging the bottom-right corner (where the hash marks are).

  • I made changes in the single user mode - now my MacBook Pro does not boot anymore.

    Hello apple support community,
I made changes in the single user mode and my MacBook Pro does now not boot anymore. It displays a grey bar and the "work in progress" wheel. My intention was to change my admin password following these steps:
    http://www.macyourself.com/2009/08/03/how-to-reset-your-mac-os-x-password-withou t-an-installer-disc/
however, I have to admit that there was a typo sneaking in - oops!
Any idea how I can undo changes made in the single user mode?
Thanks in advance for your support - I hope I don't sound to nooby

  • Satellite Pro L300 - Windows does not boot up

Silly person that i am, and being computer illiterate i turned off my laptop while it was downloading updates.
Now, when i turn it on it gives a black screen with 2 options for startup.
1 for start in repair/restore mode,
1 for start windows normally but neither work.
I made the recovery discs after i purchased the laptop but i am wary about using it.
Though i dont do a lot of work that needs backing up, i only surf the net and do emails.
Are there any other safer options for starting up?

    Hi
If you have no important data on the HDD then you can use the Recovery disk in order to reinstall the OS again and to set up the unit back to factory settings.
The recovery disk will format the HDD and will erase everything from the HDD.
The installation procedure does not take a long time you need to boot from Recovery disk and have to follow the instruction on the screen. Thats all!

Happened after partition changes. shows a error screen telling me the computer needs to be repaired using recoverymedia,
I've got a working hirens boot cd and usb (tested on other comp.) but the laptop is not responding
op. system win 8 64 bit brandnew.
    suggestions are welcome

    Hi
The message says that you have to install the system again using recovery media
As far as I know the notebook was preinstalled with the WIN 8 64BIT system.
You can use the HDD recovery option
Power on the unit and press F12.
Then choose HDD recovery option appearing in the boot menu.
Follow the instruction on the screen
    Good luck!

  • Windows does not boot on new motherboard

    Hi everybody.
    I am lost here.
I made an upgrade to my PC: replace motherboard, CPU and RAM. Keep everything else.
    I went from a celeron400 w/ intel chipset to 865 neo-2 PFISR.
The BIOS run fine. I can boot on CDs. But windows refuses to boot from c:. It looks like the MBR is fine, because I get the screen that says: "windows failed styarting, how do you want to start, fail safe mode or normal mode?" From here, any option I choose reboots the PC very quick.
I think the problem is that the geometry (CHS) of my disk is wrong. But I don't manage to find the correct values.
Does anyone has any idea of what is going wrong?
    - The hard drive is a 15GB IBM DTLA 703015 (desktar 75GXP)
    - I don't want to format everything....
    - The drive still works on other computers.
Additionnal question: any link to installation of Windows XP pro on a SATA disk?
Thank you for any idea you might have!

In bios under Integrated Peripherals, On Chip ATA Operating Mode set
    Native Mode
    ATA Configuration - PATA only
    SATA Keep enabled - yes
    PATA Keep enabled - yes
    PATA channel selection - both
You can't boot using a hard drive with windows installed on a different motherboard. There are too many differences to be successful.
Connect the SATA drive to SATA1, don't connect any PATA drives, and use the settings above. After you install Windows you can connect up the PATA drives (if any) to use for data.

  • X220t does not boot anymore after a few times running, does not get past BIOS

I just bought a x220t and want to use it with Win8.1. I had before upgraded my x201t to win8 with no problem at all.
After a few succesfull runs in wich I do the patching it stops booting completely. I can't even push F8. It will only go to Bios in witch I have fidled a bit, but nothing works. I have tried a fesh install for three times. It does boot an USB DVD drive with the origiganal win 8.1 disk, but it can't fix my problems.
I have an I7 version whith Intel 160GB ssd. I did a lenovo check, all clear, I dit an Intel SSD check, all clear. Unfiortunatiely I have delated the restore partition. I am on the latest BIOS (1.39)
Sometimes I get in to the Lenovo boot menu, with no result. I want to rip out my hairs!
    Any help?

    Hi thomas1921,
Not an answer to your specific question, but I'm very surprised that a BIOS update would break DVD booting. Have you tried pressing F1 at boot to get to BIOS Setup and examining / changing the boot order? Or pressing F12 at boot to select the boot device? (Think the F12 feature must be enabled in BIOS Setup.)

  • HELP ME T23 does not boot anymore after installing a Lenovo update. Any idea?

Hi, I installed the updates and later I shut down the laptop as requested. Later that day I wanted to start it again but nothing happend other than the little round green light next to the switch button goes on. The monitor stays black. I removed the batterie and plug (the batterie is dead anyway) but that did not help. I believe my harddrive made noise lately, too. Is that the end?

I was able to eject the dvd by pressing the usb mouse left button while booting. Then put it back in after a reboot
After that selecting the alt-key, i selected the install dvd, and after a while (gray background and spinning weel) it took me again to the installation screen.
Will tell you if it is working in a while...

  • After updating the system does not boot anymore!

I made an usual update with 'pacman -Syu' and since I saw a kernel update I rebooted...
After reboot the lilo menu appears, it autoselects arch after 2 seconds, it appears
    boot:
    loading arch........................... .................................
nothing more. No errors, no messages at all!
It is the same also using the fallback.
What happened? Can I do something or I have to reinstall arch from zero?
    edit: typo
edit2: it can be related to the fact the I have /boot partition and lilo in different disks?

I see, so now I have to start the machine with the arch CD. Mount the drives, chroot the directory where I mounted and starting lilo should solve.
    Thanks everyone.
    edit: it worked! Thanks everyone.

  • Using right mouse click in bookmarks and selecting new tab or window does not work anymore in firefow 4.0. no new tab or window opens. Still works if you open new via File menu.

When you select bookmarks, find the bookmark you want, then right mouse button click you get a drop down menu giving you the chance to open a bookmark in a new tab or new window. This no longer works with firefow 4.0

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Satellite Pro A100-080 does not boot - stays dark after 3 beeps

    Hello,
after one week off, the Toshiba Satellite Pro A100-080 (PSAASE-00G004GR, 4 GB RAM) of my children does not boot anymore.
When powering on the system, it *beeps 3 times* (one longer, two short beeps), then the HDisk light shortly blinks "blue" and then nothing more happens. A/C, Power and Batterie LEDs are "blue", which seem to be the OK state.
No other useful help, as the display stays dark.
We had upgraded to 4 GB MEM (Kingston) one year ago and I already tried the former used 1 GB (included when purchased) or the 2 x 1 GB replacement from December 2007, but same status with those modules. So it is not
    a defect memory.
I hope it is not the mainboard, probably only the included NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics adapter?
Does anyone have an idea, what might be the issue?
    Thx for a short help.

    Hello
Generally speaking this kind of beep codes are hardware related or with other words hardware is malfunctioning. So I think its a hardware problem and an ASP should check your notebook to identify the reason of this.
On the Toshiba website you will find a list of ASPs:

  • X102e - Hard drive does not boot into Windows

Hi, I was trying to reinstall Windows on my X120e.
I tried clean install with Windows 7 Professional, but the hard drive does not boot into the Windows once it has done the first phase of the install(you know, the copying part)
After the restart done by Windows, it goes as far as "Starting Windows" but does not actually boot into the Windows.
When I try to install Windows with another HDD, the device works well, but I can't swap the HDD because it is not 7.5mm think HDD.
Is there any possibility the HDD will work trough any software-level process? The HDD works fine as external HDD when tested with external HDD adapter, and installs well. only problem is that it fails to boot

    Thank you for reply.
This is not exactly the issue. I was talking about the HDD originally installed in the PC.
The PC successfully recognizes the external disk I used to install the Windows, but the problem was that I did not boot into the "First boot" screen, which basically works on the already installed data.
As of now I have installed an SSD and is working fine. strange part is that HDD works just fine when I use it as an external HDD via adapter. Strange huh?

    Hi Hardy Tasso,
Are you seeing this problem since first launch of PSE13 after installation or recently?
    Please try:
Keep Ctrl + Alt + Shift keys pressed while launching PSE13 Editor and click OK on the dialog that comes next.
    Thanks,
