Ended up calling apple and got this fixed. Had to change id since it was made years ago with the old style of IDs.

If your contacts are synced to your computer then they are in the supported app you are syncing with.
When you set up syncing of contacts on your device, which application did you select?

I have the same problem. One of the reliable things about Apple OSX, that we could count on screenshots being simple. Then DropBox came along. I suspect DropBox is the culprit here. I don't mind, even am grateful if DB captures my captures, but who gave them permission to totally changes my whole universe!!?

I'm not sure why you had to manually enter your contact information, but if you created and turned on your iCloud account, the information should be there.

Please note that the Contacts App (looks like a brown address book) is located inside the Utilties folder on your home screen. Press and hold the Utilities folder and it will jiggle. Then drag the Contacts App out onto the home screen for easier access. (see page 20 of the guide below).

Dont know where to find contacts for my 2 email accounts

Set up two email accounts (Yahoo and my ISP) went thru all the hoops to set them up..Now when composing a message in either one, I cant find how to add a contact...if I press the contact icon, it says no contacts,,,?????

Maybe I am not explaining it well..On a regular computer, in an email account, say like Gmail, when composing a message, you can either click on the TO address space and a list of your contacts appears and you select one and it goes into the TO area ..When I open the composition area of Messages, I get the standard email form but do not see any icon which i can click on to get a list of my contacts, nor,can you click on the TO and get any...if I click on the contact Icon at the top of my home page, it says I have no contacts even though when I set up the ISP email account info, I selected Emails, contacts etc..What am I missing here

Installed SEO Quake, SEO Status and Search Preview don't know where to find them as not showing in any tabs on the interface.

Just new to Firefox. Installed these plugins/add ons. When installed SEO Quake saw this displayed in a tab at top of window. However, when installed the other plugins none of them appeared anywhere. I haven't got a clue as to how I display/show them in the window area so that I am able to use them. It is a mystery to me as to where they have disappeared!

Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

I'm getting popup notices that Firefox has a problem, and Windows is looking for a solution; then it closes Firefox and says Windows will let me know if it finds a solution. No crash report window comes up.

Firefox is my default browser on my new laptop, with OS Windows 7. I've now had several instances where a Windows popup comes up saying Firefox has developed a problem and may have to close. It also indicates Windows "is looking for a solution to the problem." No solution is found, however, and Firefox is forced to close, with the happy notice that Windows will let me know if it finds a solution to the problem. If there is any tech data on the crash, I'm not sure where to find it, and no Firefox crash report window comes up. I thought it was an anomaly the first time, but this has now occurred at least 4 times in the past several days.

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.

You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside a photo or iTunes library will corrupt the library. Changes to such a library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Ignore any other messages that appear in the Terminal window.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

I don't know where to find my Linksys Password?

I just got a new labtop for school and I'm trying to update my linksys wireless onto the labtop. I have done this about 6 months ago onto another labtop in our family, but I dont ever recall being asked for a password to confirm anything (maybe I did but I can't recall it.) I have the model number WRT54G. When I do the setup with the CD-ROM it gets me passed like 8 or so steps and then it asks me for a password to verify things. If you can access your router you can go to the wireless tab and reset it. If not and your can not access your router (forgot the password and the default does not work) then you will have to reset the router and reconfigure it from scratch. It's in your Keychain on the computer you usually use to connect to your network - the "kind" will be "AirPort Network Password".
Your Keychain can be opened by using the Keychain Access program. It is in your Utilities Folder.
Open Keychain Access, and type airport in the search field. You will see a number of entries. Choose the one with the name of your wireless network, open it, and check the box next to "show password". Before it reveals itself you will be asked for your login password - the one you use to log in to your MacBook.
The network password will appear in the box.
Quit Keychain Access.
