Windows 7 Elements 1.0 has brush dynamic Stylus option greyed out

I use photoshop elements 1.0 on a windows 7 laptop with a wacom CTE-430. When I check brush dynamics, the Stylus option is greyed out so I cannot use pressure sensitivity to adjust the brush size. The option works fine on my desktop with Windows XP, so I can't figure out what I need to do to fix it.

Well, I"m sure that Adobe would say that PSE-1 (?) is incompatible with Windows 7, but what do they know?
I would hit Wacom's site to see if they have an updated driver for your tablet, compatible with Windows 7.
You can also investigate running PSE in compatibility mode for XP SP-2.

I am trying to find out what GPO setting is causing this so I can change I.E. settings at a desktop running Windows 7.
A GPO has I.E. locked down so settings are greyed out for Intranet settings so I can't change Intranet settings.
How do I enable so I can save changes with a GPO?

Classic GPO using Administrative Templates, is designed to do exactly that (disable the UI).
Previously, you could use IEM in preference mode.
Now, you'll need to use GPP, but there are a couple of limitations.
Check the IE10 IEAK documentation (it's useful for understanding what you can do with GPP)

If you don't remember your restrictions passcode, you will have to force the phone into recovery mode and restore it using iTunes. Do NOT restore your backup. The restrictions passcode is part of the backup.
Everything on the phone will be lost.
You can extract the photos from the camera roll the same way you would from any other digital camera. Having a restriction passcode set should not prevent that. do that before you put the phone in recovery mode and restore it.

Sorry - I should have added that I have imported a Quicktime movie, originally created as an iPhoto slideshow.

Brush Tip Shape option grayed out, can't uncheck it.

The "wet edges" selection in my "brush tip shape" options is grayed out.
I can't de-select it from the left side of the Brush window. I've tried closing and re-opening Photoshop, and re-booting my computer, but it comes back the same way every time I open the program.
I am running Win 7 on a Dell with lots of memory and a decent video card.
FWIW -- the color model in the file is RGB. I'm aware that Index Color upsets brush tip options, but

I use brush-stroke to turn vector paths into lines fairly often, so I'm glad this is finally fixed.

Can only open 4 tabs in window. Then + button doesn't work, and New Tab greyed-out in menu.

Number of tabs that can be opened in a single window is limited. Can't currently open more than four. Clicking the "+" button to the right of open tabs does nothing, and the "New Tab" option in the file menu is greyed out.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

All 'edit in' options greyed out in Lightroom 5.6 in combination with PS CC, last night it worked fine, what has happened?

Last night the 'edit in' link between Lightroom 5.6 and Photoshop CC on MacOS 10.9.5 was working fine. This morning it is greyed out. Does anyone have a clue what might have happened? I did get a notice to say that my license would expire in 6 days (when I'll renew again), so what gives?

Effects adjustment brush in Lightroom 5 greyed out, only available option is Custom. How do I enable Effects adjustment brush

Would like to know why Effects adjustment brush is disabled (greyed out) and the only other option is Custom.

It sounds as though you have the Mask Overlay turned on, but with the colour of the mask changed from the default pink to the dark grey that you are seeing when you paint. So either turn off the mask overlay, or change it's colour to something that suits you better (use Shift-O to cycle through the different coloured masks).
To clarify....when you paint with the mask overlay ON, you only see the mask colour on the painted areas until you either switch off the mask or dismiss the active adjustment brush (such as by clicking NEW)....then you get to see the actual effect that you painted.

Latest batch of RAW files has all the raw fine tuning options greyed out

I shoot about 1000 images a week with my 40d and edit/organize all of them in Aperture... the latest batch (a pretty important batch at that) of 800 or so imported fine but does not allow me to use the 'Raw Fine Tuning' options as if they are JPGs. I can still go to the images i imported last week and the RAW fine tuning works fine, even some in the same album... any ideas?

today's images imported fine, so you can rule out the security patch.
even more peculiar i exported some of the images, and imported the same masters back in and much to my suprise the RAW fine tuning works. I rebuilt the library hoping that would help but it didn't, I'm just going to go back through the library and re-tag and rate my picks from the shoot, but any idea on how to keep this from happening again? it has to be some wacky setting or something, I can export the broken image and the import it again and it works fine.

Hi, I suddenly have an add-on called "Bytemobile Optimization Client". I did not ask for this, did not approve the installation, and what is worse, it only has the "Enable" button enabled. The "De-install" button is grayed out. This should not be allowed by Firefox. How do I get rid of this?

3D Option Greyed out after windows upgrade?

Pretty much as the title says. I had windows 7 and photoshop was just fine i could 3d from extrusion layer no problems, but then i upgraded my operating system but nothing else in my cpu so everything is the same. But now i cant click choose any 3d options whats wrong?

Make sure Photoshop Preferences tab GPU is enabled and advance mode is what you used. Please post your System infouse Photoshop menu Help>system info. Use its copy button and paste in here.

Elements Import Option Greyed Out-Camera not available ?

Posted on the Premier forum as well but this is just about photos not videos.
When I plug my camera in, its a Panny TZ25 in this instance, Aperture opens on my Mac and I can see the photos on the camera, Lightroom does the same if I open it but my trial version of Elements 12 doesn't see the camera, the import option is greyed, but if I select "open" I can open the remote disc icon and view the folders on my camera. I assume there is a problem with a twain plugin of some kind ? I would have thought 12 would have had the camera in its list by default. It did in LR as I mentioned.
Any advice appreciated

You know how it is that you wonder if something is broken rather than just being the way it is. I'm used to CS5 where the main way of importing from a camera is via the ... import... option. So thanks for confirming the best way of importing in Elements. I'm not going mad.

I'm running Windows 7 and occasionally, Firefox will become completely unresponsive and grey out, then none of my programs will open at all, including the Start menu, forcing me to use a hard restart and shut down. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not able to close and restart Firefox at all, since the computer becomes completely unresponsive, save for mouse input. Task Manager is also of no use.

Believe it or not, anything on the Desktop uses 3 times the Resources of the Mac than if stored elsewhere, I can note a slowdown from just 30 items on the Desktop on a really fast Mac, so the less the better on the Desktop.

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...

Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

Mountain Lion re-install has migration assistant options greyed out. How do I choose only data I want?

I ran out of space on my Mac Mini so I bought the iFixit kit and added a second drive. This resulted in me putting a 60GB SSD system drive and a faster 7200 RPM 500GB data drive in the mini. I removed the original 500GB drive and placed it in an external enclosure.
After installing Mountain Lion I ran migration assistant. It shows all the data from the external drive, but everything is checked and it will only migrate to my 60GB OS drive. Of course this won't work.
I made a link to /Users to my second internal data drive but migration assistant still shows a -486.34GB of space needed.
So, instead of taking a week to upgrade my App Store purchases and install and configure everything (Mountian Lione Server, Xcode, Microsoft Office, Parallels...) how can I get migration assistant to allow me to just choose specific items to migrate?
As a side note, how can I make Mac OS X Mountain Lion use the second internal drive for User accounts *AND* recognize it properly? My link works but I'm early into this and would rather do it 'right' now then live with frankenmac later.

Well, maybe I posted to the wrong forum...
I went in to speak with a mac genius too. All I got was, "In all the years I've worked on Macs, I've never seen the migration assistant with greyed out options." Ok. I guess I have more experience, I've seen it. They then suggested I run check permissions on the drive and buy Disk Warrior for $100. Sorry guys, the drive is fine. My TM backups are fine. It's not that.
I went ahead and bought a 1 TB drive. Even then, the migration assistant choices were greyed out. I went ahead and created a Fusion drive to take advantage of the SSD (the 1TB is only 5400 RPM). The directions can be found here. I then just ignored the greyed out options and brought *all* the data over to the 1.1TB drive. Everything works fine.
I'm bummed about not getting the apps and O/S pinned to the SSD but I figure if anything is getting used a lot, its where it needs to be.

Walking Dead has gone from Youview - option greyed...

I have been recently been enjoying watching series 2 of the Walking Dead. This morning I went to watch episode 9 but found that my bookmark had been deleted and that I could not select the Walking Dead in the box set section of the Vision app.
The walking dead is listed, but it seems to be greyed out and when trying to select it it just skips to the programme below. The same thing happens for the Inbetweeners too. That option is also greyed out.
I was only watching the Walking Dead a couple of days ago so I do not understand why the box set is no longer accessible even though it is listed and was not due to be removed until 28th February. Can anyone shed light on why this might be the case?

I suspect those are controlled by 4OD (Inbetweeners) and ITV Player (Poirot) so it may not be down to BT that they get removed.
Actually thinking about it it looks like some of the menus use common structures on both Youview and th Bt Vision new look.
On the BT Vision new look the 4OD and ITV stuff is provided from within the BT application wheras I believe on Youview it is provided outside of the BT app. So you may find what you are looking for in the 4OD and ITV player areas rather that within the BT app.
