Windows 7, firefox 1.6.16 just installed office 2010, sometimes cannot open a link in outlook and firefox is my default browser, and firefox will not initiate at all. Have to restart computer to get any response which then works but after a while it crashes again. Was this due to an update or office 2010 has a hidden setting somewhere? I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

Stephen Spark is right - your best alternative is to use a simultaneous dual band wireless router like the AirPort Extreme. Your Cisco Linksys2000 is not a dual band router, meaning that it will be constrained to operate at the slowest speed of all the devices on your network.
The AirPort Extreme's dual networks will support all your 802.11n devices as well as all your 802.11b/g devices on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies simultaneously. -
Firefox has stopped working altogether (Windows 7). It will NOT start. The spinning start up graphic will spin for a moment, and quit. I have uninstalled everything that I could find to uninstall, and then re-installed, but to no avail. I have followed the currently posted suggestions with out success. Any other suggestions?

I have an Apple Trackpad that shows that it is connected with Bluetooth but it is not responding. I've tried restarting the computer, disconnecting and reconnecting and also turning the trackpad on and off but it simply does not respond. Does anyone have any idea on what is going on here?
There are reports of similar behavour but generally it is due to battery connections. Is the indicator light working steadily or does it blink or even not function. Here is the Apple document dealing with some of the problems.

Is your machine within the guarantee period or under Apple care. If so, return it to any apple retailer for examination and possible replacement. -

I have searched for a possible reason to why my iPad will not rotate. I found this forum and tried the solutions posted but they did not work. This is not my first apple product, so I am not completely ignorant to this. I searched in the ad it self to see why but apparently no settings were changed. It worked fine, i pluged it in so I can take care of the baby and when I went to pull it off and use it, it would not rotate any more.

Seriously, despite your comments, I strongly suspect that the issue is an incorrect setting. It's easy to accidentally mess it up if you're new to the iPad.
The side switch is the key. Depending on your settings, it may affect the mute or it may affect the rotation lock. This support article from Apple provides detail.

In case you're wondering, here is the history. Originally, the mechanical switch affected only the rotation lock and the mute was a software switch elsewhere. In IOS-3, it was changed to be the mute switch and the rotation lock became a software switch. This was done to ensure consistency among IOS devices. Unfortunately, a large quantity of users complained loudly, alleging that they turned the rotation lock on and off several times every hour and the convenience of the mechanical switch is essential. In IOS-4, Apple bowed to the whiners and made the switch function selectable and now we're stuck with a mess. -
My ipad automatically tried to update skype. It has been installing for 3 days and the message waiting is on the icon. I am unable to delete skype to try and re install. I have gone to the licence page but there is nowhere that I can agree the terms as it is still trying to load.
delete the app on itunes (on PC) then download it again.

I was previously able to use my AppleTV with airplay and iTunes home sharing to my 2 macbook pros and my iPad. However, it has suddenly stopped connecting to both airplay and home sharing, even though both are turned on and the correct itunes account has been logged into on all devices. We have reset AppleTV but that has not resolved the issue. There is no airplay icon on any of the macbooks or iPad. Has anyone else experienced this and found any solutions? Thanks.
It has always been set up as WiFi and until this weekend it worked well - now won't connect.

I am not getting any sounds from Applications or Web Browsers, but i am getting alert sounds.
I've tried everything: Restarting my computer, audio MIDI settings, reseting PRAM, opening garageband :l Nothing seems to work! This is really anoyying. I've looked at all the forums about this and i've tried everything it says, and no luck. Please help. And its weird because my computer is not muted and when i turn on the computer the startup sound comes, then i go into iTunes and play a song, but nothing plays, I just hear nothing but error and alert sounds! Please Help!!
Hmmm, only thing I can think is some extension not loading or borked, open System Profiler, or whatever the name has changed to now, check Software>Extensions & see if all the myriad Audio ones appear to be loaded & valid...

The wheel on my IPod nano, 5th generation is unresponsive when I try to use the menu part to go back to previous books. It's also unresponsive when I try to reset by pushing the menu and center in at the same time. Can anyone help?
If you have double checked to make sure the hold switch is not activated, it may be a hardware issue with the iPod's click wheel, meaning you'll need to have it serviced.
Before doing that though, it might help to try and restore to factory settings in iTunes as well to rule out a software issue.

Firstly, try a hard reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears.
If this doesn't work, try restoring your device. Put it in recovery mode if iTunes doesn't recognise it, and restore it from there. I have linked to instructions below.

My old computer (a Sony) with my iTunes crashed. I have a new MAC and want to make sure I can keep all of my music (mostly from old CD's that have been lost). I bought iTunes match hoping that would work but it isn't using the data on my phone. HELP!
Since you have purchased a new Mac (which, BTW, is not typed in all capitals) why not buy a Time Capsule <http://www.apple.com/airport-time-capsule/> which is designed specifically to work with OS X and Time Machine?
You don't say what part of your Sony "crashed." If it was not the HDD it is possible to take the computer apart, put the HDD in an external case, then recover the data off of it (including the music) simply drag-n-drop. If it was the HDD that "crashed" that makes it more difficult.
If you are able to recover the music from the Sony you can then add it to the iTunes library on the Mac and iTunes Match will then scan, match and upload the tracks to be mirrored in the cloud. -
I have a mba without a disc drive. I installed parallels 7 and windows 7. Now I want to install office 2010 and other windows apps that I have on disc. I tried using remote disc to install from the disc drive on another windows 7 computer. no luck. Can someone refer me to information about how to do these installs?
Thank you for your responses. I couldn't figure out how to download it fro the internet without buying it. But I got a thumb drive to work very easily. You just have to have windows running and it asked if I wanted to run the usb drive through windows or the mac.
