Windows 7 has arrived...but is Premiere Pro Compatible?

We are lucky in Australia, because of our time zone Windows 7 has been available for 10 hours now. I searched the Microsoft Windows Compatibilty Center for results of Premiere Pro CS4 and Encore and they are NOT listed.

Do a clean (re)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

Upgraded to windows 7 64 strange behavour CS4 Premiere Pro

Hi,
I upgraded to windows 7 64 and are using Premiere pro CS4 for the first time on this system.
I noticed when I click the minus sign (at the top right) to temporarily close the program the little icon shows up at the bottom of the screen like it does with any program on Windows 7.
But unfortunately when I try to let it appear on screen again nothing happens. I have to reboot the system to get it working again.
Also the timeline starts flickering when I play a sequence is this normal?!
Any one with a solution is very very welcome to reply!

PProHeadless.exe has stopped working for Premiere Pro CS6

I have had no problems with it until today.
The video I was trying to produce was about 31 minutes long.
I have had this PC less than a year and have never had PProHeadless.exe stop working for Premiere Pro CS6.
what causes this to happen, has the last batch of updates caused this?
PC specs:
Windows 7 64bit fully updated
MoBo Asus P6X58E-WS
i7 quad core 950
24 gigs of Ram
10,000 rpm's Hard Drives
very few things installed on this PC to avoid application conflicts, and I had no other applications running.

WARNING! - Multicam has MAJOR FLAW in Premiere Pro CS6!!!!!!

When you are using Premiere Pro CS6, and you are editing a multicam sequence and you hit PAUSE or STOP, Premiere CS6 makes a cut in your timeline and then changes shots back to the original shot whether you want it to or not!!! This forces users to go back and fix the un-intended cuts later which is a HUGE time waster. The thread below was started tracking the issue and then suddenly LOCKED by Adobe with a FALSE correct answer as the issue is NOT fixed! The answer is only an attempt at a workaround which DOES NOT work for everyone as pointed out in the thread and the thread should NOT have been locked as the MAJOR FLAW still persists and has persisted for years. Final Cut Pro, Avid, FCPX do NOT have this issue. Premiere Pro CS6 does.

Premiere Pro CS6 is a nice editing program BUT it has a HUGE time-wasting flaw that makes editing multicam sequences VERY frustrating for many users and that still persists as of version 6.0.3. Please start by UNLOCKING a thread that is NOT resolved. The issue is NOT fixed and still persists as of October 2012. Marking something as the "correct answer" that does not work for everyone is unacceptible and only avoids the real issue that has been around for years as pointed out in the original thread started back in 2010. Please unlock the thread until the issue is resolved so the issue can be discussed constructively until its resolved!

Audio plays in iTunes but not Premiere Pro.

No matter what format I import; MOV or MP4, the audio is very low and sounds like it is coming from the bottom of a tin can in Premiere Pro. I can hear it properly in iTunes.
I am aware MOV files need to be converted, but MP4 files are also unintelligible.
What am I doing wrong?

AVI file imports into Premiere Elements but not Premiere Pro CS5.5

I tried to import an avi file into Premiere Pro 5.5, only to get the message: "Unsupported format or damaged file." The weird thing is, I have no problem importing the same file into Premiere Elements 1.0 and Premiere Elements 3.0. From the message boards, I somewhat understand that avi is a container and that there are actually 1000s of different formats within that "avi" label. Anyone know why PE is more capable than Pro on this task? Any solutions?

Hello Everyone.
I am using the latest version in Creative Cloud, which i guess is CS6 on the Windows 8 OS. I have a pc powered by an AMD A10 Processor, 16 gig ram, with an SSD/HD comibination for my drives. I have a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 sound interface. I am wanting something that Premiere will capture the video real time with 2 - 4 tracks of audio. I'm putting together videos of me playing guitar to backing tracks and i want to record the video and 2-4 tracks of audio into file simultaneously.
all i have now is an older Logitech webcam. I'm just looking for an inexpensive camera to get the job done maybe less than $300 or so. I thought premiere pro would only capture real time from a firewire camera. Maybe I should use a different software, but I'm paying for Creative Cloud. The key here (i think) is i have to have multiple tracks of audio like in Premiere Pro CS6

Yes. There should be no issues handling these files in Premiere Pro CC.

Problem running Windows software on iMac but not MacBook Pro

I just got an iMac 27" to replace my old iMac 24". I also have a MacBook Pro.
I am using the same version of Parallels 7 and Windows 7 on both my iMac 27 and my MacBook to run Lotus Approach 9.8 (part of a SmartSuite package).
Lotus Approach works fine on my MacBook (as it did on my old iMac 24), but when I open database files on my iMac 27, the database screen starts flashing (rewriting the screen in some endless loop) and the program becomes inoperable.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Parallels 7, Windows 7 and the Lotus software on my iMac 27, but that did not resolve the problem.
I need to use the Lotus Approach software on my iMac 27 -- so I can convert the Approach databases to FileMaker.
Any ideas about what the problem might be on the iMac 27 or what I can to to fix this problem? Is this a hardware problem, a driver problem, or something else?

Brilliant suggestion! I checked all the display settings on my iMac 27" and confirmed they were the same settings as my MacBook -- until I checked the Window 7 screen resolution. Because of its size, I had expanded the screen across most of the monitor. When I changed the resolution to one suggested or configured by Windows, Approach worked fine. I've now tested it on quite a few of the settings, and as long as I let Windows determine the best resolution (on my iMac 27" it seems to be 2043 x 1276), Approach works like it should. Thank you!

Please help! GH1 footage has jagged edges in Premiere Pro CS5!

Hi everyone. I shot some footage with my Panasonic GH1 (the GH1 records 24p inside a 60i wrapper) and placed it into the AVCHD 1080p 24 timeline. Now, my footage has jaggies wherever there are horizontal edges of objects in the footage (eyeglasses frames, edges of chair, etc.). I am guessing this has to do with the footage being interlaced. But, when I click on the clip and go to Interpret Footage and click "Always Deinterlace", nothing happens. The footage looks exactly the same! How do I get rid of the jaggies? Thanks.

Yes it does. But... here's something I found out recently. I downloaded the Cineform Neo Scene demo and while it works, it makes huge .avi files and kinda defeats the purpose of being able to edit the native files. So.. after further investigating... late last night I launched TMPGEnc 4.0 Xpress just to see if the cineform codec is in the options.. It is. So, I could use the codec from the demo to do the job... But.... Xpress does a FANTASTIC job of pulldown on it's own! Just click filters>deinterlace.. 24p Pulldown removal! Then you can save that as a preset and apply it to groups of clips. Then export as .mp4 which is also h.264 at around 20mb/sec CBR and you have files around the same size as originals that will edit just like AVCHD in CS4.2/CS5 Plus.... Xpress 4.0 uses the Cuda card for encoding! SWEET!

I don't seem to find about it. Recently I had a project that suddenly lost it's menu and so was replaced by a template. It was fidly an busy so I would love to get it back without redoing it. (Butons, links and all)

Say that again, I finally fix the project to encode and probably would have done better starting from scratch too. I find the size confusing. I noticed the blue line seems to be the size of the project. I added back my HD video clip and it seems to show 37 GB. But this time I won't hold my breath to long and "que sera, sera" I may have to do it all over again! it just a shame to waste so much real estate. 12, 15 GB is a lot especially when one think about DVDs. I may need to think about finding appropriate BR size
I found the above in a "recovered session! But today I have to report that I have not made any progress:
I noticed whilst burning with imgburn there are a lot write Retries (440, and I'm barely 2% complete. I must admit I have no idea how all this works - I can see the buffer at 100% and the device buffer line flicking to 100%
I just lowered the writing speed that was X8 down to X2 (here we are at 3% with 550 write retries).
I was quite hopeful with the setting to DL 50GB that should have been the problem.But!
According to imgburn, the source shows 35316,957,184 bytes so it should fit onto 50gb.
I know all this is very complex and I'm not up to it to understand the whole process - yet knowing I have had one successful burn and in the past I had not trouble with DVD burning - I should get somewhere!
Searching more for an answer I found a 2009 post that talks about BD DL and suggests each layer will only take 25 gb and therefore we should try to have two parts no more than 25 gb in the project to burn on a 50gb DL BD? Have you heard of such thing?
Well It's almost 7hours and the burning is 96% - Since I have no changed anything I don't expect too much about this session.

IPhoto Book has arrived but is wrong. What to do?

Our photo book looks great on screen but the printed version is half a page out thorughout and we can't seem to find contact details or any way of getting this sorted. Please can somebody help?

For future reference create a PDF copy of the book before ordering as described in this Apple document, iPhoto '11: Preview a book, card, or calendar before you order or print it, and preview it carefully. If all appears good in the PDF file then the printed version should be OK also. Occasionally the only difference may be in the darkness of the photos in the printed copy depending on the color profile used, Adobe RGB tends to create darker prints.
Apple is pretty good at making good on the bad book. They'll issue a credit to the card used to purchae it.

I have a problem with Adobe premiere Pro CS6 on windows 8. When I use Premiere Pro CS6 for the first time, it's doesn't have any problem, but now I can't import music to Premiere Pro CS6 and it's say ''Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 has stopped working'', I don't know what should I do. How to fix it ?
