Windows 7 - Hibernate/Sleep Event 41 Reboot Issues

Have a HP ProBook 5310m
I am getting a series or errors. Below are two examples from the event viewer. Behaviour is hat when I hibernate, all seems fine but when I try and restart the system runs a BSD dump, which fails every time, then shuts down. Restart etc.
I have not added any new hw and drivers etc pretty up to date. Not sure where to look - problem went away for a few weeks and just returned and happened 3 times today.
Thx

  • 7650M on HP + Windows 8.1 = Sleep Suspend Restart :'( !

Pfff. I'm french, i had to downgrade my 4540s to HP driver (12.8, drivers from 2012. lol) on Windows 8 to have a working computer. I'm gaming a lot with that computer, so i WANT to have access to my AMD card. I bought my computer for it.
But... When I upgrade my drivers (13.12 ...) no luck, sleep is broken (reboot... Because of a BSOD when wake up. Invisible BSOD because AMD card don't work....)
So the problem is that the AMD drivers are kicking out the Intel drivers. They deactivate the Intel card, so when the computer wake up, it wake on the intel driver that doesn't exist anymore >> BSOD >> Reboot.
It's a shame that 6 month after Windows 8.1, HP doesn't relaease any drivers working with my computer Next time, I'll buy an Alienware. Expensive, but there is driver support top play.
14.6 beta AMD drivers doesn't support Windows 8 anymore -_- ! I think i will have to leave without suspend

  • Installation of Windows 8.1 in the Maverick Bootcamp Issues

When installin the Windows 8.1 on the Bootcamp partition of the OS X Mavericks. I have removed the original optic drive and placed it in a seperate case connected USB. The Bootcamp 5.1 (and 5) have both been used to attempt the installation. The Bootcamp partition is created. Once the two check boxes have been selected (I have assumed that the first check box must only be done once in order to save this to the USB flash drive). Upon the Bootcamp Assistant recognizing this installation a pop up will tell you to give the disc a few seconds to recognize the you click the OKAY box. The desktop will fade out and the Apple loader (circle will be in view). The desktop will then reboot to what appears to be the installing of the windows disc. Upon the self reboot the screen will go to a quick gray (5-10 seconds) then default to a Blackout screen with a flashing cursor in the top left corner (this is the same quick screen that occurs whenever WIndows 7 or 8 is in it's boot initial start). Now from hear the installation never continues. At this point I have tried the methods and have spent 8 hours with both the LeveL 2 technicians at APPLE and MICROSOFT. To no avail!!!! There would appear to be a conflict between the Windows EFI files at booting the windows and the Bootcamp assistant installation commands for the partition booting for install. Nobody as of yet has come up with the solution or answer/fix. If anyone has seen this or has found a work around for this issue. Please feel free to post. I feel this is either a very simple issue that we are all overlooking or this has not been addressed as of yet. As I understand both parties are saying that they have been getting many calls regarding this issue but have not understood why it is occurring. I will be will to post different scenarios that have been attemted. Again if anyone has seen this and/or found a way to make this work please post you methods and/or thoughts. Oh by the way, all of the installations directions dealing with the Windows step by step instruction from both Windows and Apple have not worked. If the hard reboot is done and holding the option key (therefore giving you your drive selection options) you can see the Windows disc in the external drive but it will not boot to that drive. This leads us to believe that the USB is the conflict with the Windows EFI files. We have attempet this also from the Flash drive installation using the .iso but upon the hard reboot/option start the flash drive .iso file is not available for disc selection. This has led me to think that a .iso copy could be placed on the new bootcamp partion (in the Disk utility application) but I am uncertain if this could be booted form the hard reboot/option startup. Just some thoughts. So again, our final stage is staring at a Black screen with a cursor flashing, oh and there is no keyboard entry recognized at this point. In order to exit you must hard reboot/option restart to get back to the Mac HD. Looking forward to your ideas folks!

Okay, new update! As of today, I have been able to finally create a .ISO bootable flash drive that contains the new Windows 8.1 Pro. Once the bootcamp partition has been made I can now interrupt the reboot process and using the Option Key select the new EFI bootable Windows disk (on USB) it's orange. The Windows begins to load and takes me through a few steps of selecting language and enter the product key. Then we move on to the selection of the partition that is to be used for the installation of Windows. Here is where I have tried several different types of things but have not been able to get through to the installing. Depending on what selection was made during the Bootcamp partitioning installation from my Utilities in Mavericks will depend on the faults that I get. If I choose to erase and make a new installation on the new bootcamp partition then during the Windows installation (at the partitioning step) I will get the error that Windows cannot be installed on the MBR disk (Master Boot) and must be done on the GPT disk. If I try any of the disk options at this point it will either delete the partition (and cannot ADD a new partion) therefore I am forced to return back out to the Mac HD OS and restart the Bootcamp process OR If in the Bootcamp set up I choose the first option to make a partition for the Windows installation then once I get into the partitioning set up for the Windows install it says the same thing. Now I have also attempted all of the other options even the load drivers option (assuming that maybe this will allow me to load disk drivers to read the Bootcamp HD) Nope, still no continuing on to installation. I have read many days on several other methods used in the Forum. By the way, thanks for all the posts it has allowed me to be able try just about everything to include the cloning of the Info.plist files and teminal authorizations for USB and so on. I'm not a supertech but have been able to find my way around with some difficulties. The real issue here is that Apple and Microsoft have yet to make this process  very easy even for someone who has some experience with this. I have loaded Windows 7 on several other Macbook Pros operating earlier versions of the OS X but this has become absolutely too time consumming to ever wish to continue to operate MAC products in my preferred Windows. I have used other 3rd party boot patitioning programs such as Parallels and VMware. My experience with these types of programs make the install process much easier but in time as different OS software updates are applied these programs tend to have different problems forcing the user to make odd corrections at the most in opportune times. If there is anyone that has any information to further my progress I am all ears to see what may be the fix!

  • MSI 970A-G45 reboot issues

Just did an upgrade to my PC.
    Running the following:
    MSI 970A-G45
Athlon Phenom X4 955 at Stock speeds(used from previous rig)
    Corsair Vengeance 8GB PC12800 DDR3 1600MHz at Stock speeds(new)
    XFX Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5(new)
OCZ 120GB SOLID 3 SERIES SATA III 2.5 Hard Drive
Sony DVDRW 24x(used from previous rig)
BFG 550W PSU(used from previous rig)
    Windows 7 64bit Ultimate
Here's the issue. Sometimes when I restart the PC, it never comes back up. It goes down like normal, then I have no video signal and it just sits there. It's doesn't happen all the time though, which is perplexing. When it does not come back up, I can simply hit the reset button and then it starts to boot up. Apparently it has all the latest BIOS and drivers according to MSI Live update. So at this point I have no idea what to try in order to get this thing to restart normally every time. I guess I shouldn't be too concerned considering I don't reboot a lot...?...?
P.S. I am not overclocking anything. Processor and RAM are running at stock speeds.
P.S.S. I do have two USB hard drives hooked up. Could one or both of them be causing the random reboot issue?
P.S.S.S. Although I mentioned the USB drives, I never had this reboot issue prior to upgrading to this motherboard, video card and ram.
    THANKS!

    Hello,
Having the same issue with similar hardware.  PC will boot cold and shutdown like it should but restarting most of the time causes the system to hang with no video but the fans run and MB LED's are still lit.  Pressing the reset causes the video to restore and POST and a normal boot.  I tried an old video card to eliminate a video card problem but it does the same thing.  Here is the hardware I'm running, I just built it today.
    MSI 970A-G45
AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE (not OC)
MSI AMD Radeon 6770 1GB DDR5 (Not OC)
    Kingston  HyperX Blue 4GB DDR3 PN:KHX1333C9D3B1/4G
    LiteON 24x DVDRW (SATA)
WD Caviar Blue 6.0GB/S 250GB HDD
Cooler Master Extreme Power plus 500W PSU
I would post CPU-Z stats but I cant figure out how to attach images. help?
    Areamike,
To adjust the command rate you have to go into the overclock tab and go into advanced DRAM config.  If I can remember right you may have to adjust another setting away from AUTO to be able to access this menu.  (i would be able to tell you for sure but I cant look at BIOS and be on the forum typing at the same time.lol)  After having this problem I read a lot of reviews with people having trouble with this board, hopefully its just a setup problem for us.

  • After hibernate/ sleep mode Tecra M11 doesn't wake up

    Hi,
On a 8 month old machine if I let machine go into hibernate/ sleep mode with power settings it will not wake up .
I can get it going again by removing and replacing the battery .
I have done a restore to a few days ago when this problem did not exist ..same result
    Any offers ? Thanks

Did you check if the system recovery would fix this annoying problem.
The usage of recovery disk would set the notebook back to the factory settings which might solve the issue. But backup the data before doing this.
The usage of HDD recovery would format only the C partition so maybe its better option for you.

  • Windows 8.1 Pro join to domain issues....

We bought some Windows 8.1 laptops and purchased the upgrade to the Pro version.  When I attempt to join the laptops to the domain, it prompts me for domain credentials, I enter them, and I get an error....
Changing the Primary Domain DNS name of this computer to "mydomain.com" failed.
The name will remain "mydomain.com".  The error was:
The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.
Of course, the domain DOES exist and we have plenty of Windows 7 workstations signed into it just fine.  I hit OK then login to the laptop using a domain account.  At this point, I get an error telling me that no logon servers are available to authenticate.
This is a Windows 2008 domain controlled environment.  Everything works fine otherwise for the Windows 7 systems, only these Windows 8.1 systems are having any issues.  The new laptops are even showing up in DNS on the domain controller.
Any ideas what I might be missing?  Is there something special about joining Windows 8.1 Pro systems to a domain?

OK; took a couple of more days than planned to get back on site.  We're continuing to do testing, but here's the IPConfig /ALL that was requested.  10.0.0.1 is the gateway, 10.0.0.10 is the DC.  The laptop is "Me-L" and the domain is "mydomain.com".

  • HP Pavilion starts up in hibernate/sleep mode and remains there - there is nothing on the monitor

I have an HP Pavilion Elite HPE-250f (Core i7) desktop computer.
I was using the internet. Suddenly, the computer made some sound, and the screen went blank. The computer seemed to go into its usual hibernate/sleep mode. Usually, when the computer goes into hibernate/sleep mode (after some period of not being used), the color on the power button changes from blue to yellow. But, this time, the color remained blue.
Usually, I can move the mouse and get out of this mode. But, this time, I moved the mouse, and nothing happened.
I pressed and held the power button and turned off the computer. I then turned the computer back on. The power button was blue, there was a green light on the back of the computer, and the fans were working. But there was nothing on the screen.
I restarted several times, and there remains nothing on the screen. There is no beeping sound when the computer is restarted.

  • AWE Transaction Configuration Event Notification Setup issue

AWE Transaction Configuration > Event > Notification Setup issue
On Final Denial Event has Notifications Option set to "Requester" "Both".
The Email URL is redirecting to the correct Approval Component mentioned under Approval Component in On Final Denial Event
But the Worklist URL is redirecting to another Component unlike the email URL, it is sending to a different component.
Why the same notifications via the same Event (On Final Denial) have two different URL's??

    Hi,
The worklist/notification component is defined on several places, where the "lowest" definition applies for the action being triggered.
1 AWE Transaction Configuration> Transaction Registry > Default Approval Component
2 AWE Transaction Configuration > Event
3 AWE Transaction Configuration > Event > Notification > Template Detail tab
Be aware that the Notification section in the Transaction Configuration shows 1 row in the grid, where more than 1 row can be defined. Click on the View all to expand the grid and see all notification defined for this event.
See if above configurations differ in menu, component, page ...

Question: is there a way to make Mail wait a few seconds after the OS wakes before checking mail?
Also, I wonder if Time Machine may play a role here, as it often wants to do a backup immediately upon waking.
Seems as if the OS should impose a blackout until a few seconds after the OS is fully awake.

I thought of trying that, but only as a diagnostic. What if I want Mail to check automatically? Why should that cause spurious sleep events?

... I have a Unibody-MacBook (late 2008) and since this summer, it suffers from insomnia: it will only hibernate automatically after a reboot (within the first 24h, approx.). Afterwards, it will stay awake - even over night. I uninstalled pretty much everything running in the background (TunesInstructor, SIMBL, iStat menus, ...), Virtualbox for its kexts, and nearly every plugin for Mail or Safari. Now, I have only QuickSilver and Yojimbo open apart from the "standard apps" such as Mail, Safari and iTunes. -
But all that did not fix my Problem. There is also nothing of further interest in the console logs - during night time, it will run TimeMachine backups regularily, but there is no attempt to go to hibernation.
    Any ideas where to start?
