Windows 7 Home Premium: No Internet

Have an older PC with Windows 7 Home Premium  Service pack 1 that used to be able to brows the internet.  Will not connect anymore.  All physical connects are good.  I am able to use a printer on the network so I know all is well there.
Any ideas?

Hi Eddie Gutierrez,
Internet access limitation could be caused by a variety of reasons, so we might need some more details about your network environment. Since you could use printer on network, the network device works fine.
If you are using wireless connection please disable firewall or any antivirus software and
verify the physical cable connections between your router, your computer, or your modem for good measure.
Check the information in Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center, is there an internet access? If there is no internet access, restart your router or modern then see what happens.
Is there any other device can access internet by using your network environment such as cell phone, other computer or Tablet? according to your description, seems like another computer works fine.
Make sure you are using DHCP option in your TCP/IP setting and confirm the IP address you got.
try run ipconfig/release
then ipconfig/renew in command prompt.then check the issue again. If it is convenient please upload your
ipconfig/all output (run ipconfig/all in Command Prompt)
About TCP/IP settings:

Also you could run network troubleshooter in Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center, it can diagnose and repair network problems, or get troubleshooting information and it will be helpful.
If the issue persists please tell us more details about your network and we will follow up and help you.

  • I have windows vista home premium and all other versions of iTunes worked on my laptop iTunes 10 won't work, I get a message saying I'm not connected to the Internet when I am. Why isn't iTunes recognizing my browser configuration?

I have windows vista home premium and all other iTunes worked on my laptop, I downloaded iTunes 10 and now the iTunes will not connect to the Internet. I use Mozilla firefox on my laptop and for some reason it keeps saying the connection timed out and I'm not connected to the Internet when I am. Why isn't iTunes recognizing my web configuration?

It probably has to do with your security and/or browser configuration.
When my laptop crashed last year and I had to get a new one, I dealt with the same thing. First, go to your control panel and select the security section. See if your firewalls are up or not. If they are, turn them off. If you have any software to speed up your browser, that can affect the connection as well. Go into that software and disble/turn it off. If this doesn't work, contact customer support. They have a few other tricks they had me try that worked, but I can't remember them now.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium under bootcamp on OSX 10.6.8 no internet connection, no drivers found?

I installed bootcamp, Windows 7 Home Premium on my Macbook Pro 13" 2011 model running OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard with latest updates) and cannot manage to make an internet connection.  Cannot locate any drivers on either the Windows CD nor under the installation.  Just a plain zero.  For me, this amounts to being utterly useless.  I tried the trial version of Parallels and got the same result.  What, if anything, am I doing wrongly or is this just one of those impossible things to actually accomplish?  This has been very frustrating and one of the reasons I bought the Mac in the first place was interoperability with Windows so I can use my extensive collection of photo manipulation applications.  As it is I might as well not have bothered.

Use this set of drivers and put on FAT Flash memory card to access.
They will work and better due to your having a 2011 model you should consider Lion OS eventually.
Can't locate? the Apple Setup.exe or Bootcamp.msi (Bootcamp64.msi for 64-bit) will only be accessible when in Windows.

  • Windows 7 home premium booted off boot camp won't connect to Internet

I installed windows 7 home premium on my Mac book pro and when I started it up it complained that it had no Internet. Everywhere I've looked people say that you have to install the drivers from the Mac osx disk but I have the problem of I installed mountain lion off of a flash drive and so I can't format the drive without loosing everything on it. Someone please help me!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
As it looks like you haven't installed Boot Camp drivers, I am going to tell you how you can install them when you have OS X Mountain Lion:
    1. Press X key while your Mac is starting to boot into OS X and open Boot Camp Assistant.
    2. Follow the steps and only tick the option to download the Windows support software. Then, it will ask you to burn the drivers into a DVD or USB drive, so do it.
    3. Start into Windows, insert the DVD or USB drive and install Boot Camp drivers.
On Mountain Lion and Lion, you have to download Boot Camp drivers from Apple instead of installing them from the OS X DVD, as it was possible with Leopard and Snow Leopard

    Hello Rachet Jaw,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iTunes. I found a few articles I suggest for the issue you described.
If you are getting a white screen when accessing the iTunes Store, I recommend reviewing this article:

If you are still not able to access the store or are getting a different error than just a white screen, I recommend the following articles:

  • Internet Information Services 7.5 on Windows 7 Home Premium

I am working with the following on a desktop PC: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, Visual Web Developer 2010 Express, SQL Server 2008 Express SP4 and R2 Trial Edition SP3.  In IIS 7.5 (v7.5.7600.16385) on Windows 7 Home Premium, is it possible to
create more than one website?  I recently found an IIS tutorial which seemed to suggest that it is possible, bearing in mind that there is no DNS server present to resolve host headers and website names.  Or, should I use the Default Web Site
with Applications and Virtual Directories?  Thank you.

  • TS1538 I have an iPod Touch IOS 4.2.1 that Windows 7 home premium can't see.  Says there's a driver problem.  My other one with IOS 5.1.1 works on the same cable and computer. I don't know where to go.

I have an iPod Touch with 4.2.1 that won't connect to my Windows 7 Home Premium laptop.  It gives a "USB Device Not Recognized" error when I plug it in to a USB port.  My wife's (newer) iPod Touch with IOS 5.1.1 works just fine with no errors.  I'm using the same port - I just moved the cable from one iPod to the other. I've tried the various different drivers using Update Drivers.  I let it search the internet and it says "The best driver software is already installed", but the device shows as "Unknown Device".  I did the browse my computer, unchecked the "Show compatible hardware", and selected Apple, Inc..  There were two Apple iPod USB Drivers.  One was 6.0.9999.53 and the other was 6.0.9999.61.  Neither of these works.  I'm thinking that the maybe I need to upgrade the iPod touch software version - but I don't know how to get to it.  Can this be loaded over WiFi?  Any other ideas?

    Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353#iPod_touch_late2009
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • Install Oracle 9i on Windows Vista Home Premium

I have a problem Installing Oracle 9i on Windows Vista Home Premium, I cant install it because it throws me an error message saying that is incompatible with my version of Windows. It is possible to install it with some patch or something??

The only patch I know of is called Windows XP.
In case you have not done any internet searches on this, even Oracle Database 10g was not compatible with Vista until Oracle applied some heavy patches and re-released it.
And since Oracle9i is officially deprecated (nearest thing to obsolete as to make no difference) I see no reason for Oracle to backport the patches.

  • Live Update 3 will fail on Windows Vista Home Premium

    Hi,
I have a P6N Diamond motherboard with BIOS 1.0, in a Windows Vista Home Premium system
I have downloaded Live Update 3 and tried to run it. I get various error messages one after another: "driver not valid", "Flash_MMIO_MAP DeviceIoControl error", etc, and then I have to close down Internet Explorer to be able to get back to a normal situation in the system.
Can you please let me know how to update the BIOS?
    Thanks.

Go in BIOS and make sure USB Legacy Support is Enabled(can be named USB KB/Storage Support), re-try to boot from your USB key again.
    If no change:
Use HP Formatter(http://www.pctipp.ch/downloads/dl/32594.asp) to change USB key geometry, format the USB key in FAT32 via HP Tool.
/* some USB keys are picky, and they need a special conditional to boot from it, Forum Tool is using the existing drive parameters */
Then re-run Forum Tool, when its done reboot PC and boot again from it.

  • Adobe Photoshop 7.0 on Windows Vista Home Premium

Today, I tried to install Photoshop 7.0 on my laptop with vista home premium. When Photoshop was almost installed, the setup said he was ready but the setup screen didn't went away. I closed the screen.
when I tried to open Photoshop then, the program starts normal but before you can do something there's a report saying: 'couldn't execute your request because of missing or invalid personalisation-information' (this is not perfect because I tried to translate it from dutch)
So, the program doesn't start. After this, I tried to remove Photoshop from the laptop but he says there's a log error and they can't remove Photoshop.
I have consequently a program that doesn't work and that I can't remove.
    Is there a solution?
When I installed Photoshop I used another name than the name of the computer, maybe vista doesn't accept this? Normally, you can do that, but I didn't do something like that on vista. If that's the problem, how can you change that name if the program doesn't start normally?
    thanks
    Michiel

  • Windows 7 Home Premium Peer-to-peer network over a switch

Sorry for asking such a basic question here. I am trying to setup a small office network. There are 5 computers all running Windows 7 Home Premium. Using a switch I want to connect all 5 together. I have a software package running on PC1, which will contain
a database. The other four computers, (PC2, PC3, PC4, PC5), will have a client running on them that will be able to access the database on PC1. I also have two printers and a router for internet access.
I have pulled the cables, managed to cap them correctly (tested them with a cable tester), and have connected the PC's to the switch via the cables.
I have looked on the internet for how connect the PC's together but I am getting confused, between all the videos and websites mixing XP with Windows 7 and Vista and wireless to cross-over and and and.....
Could someone please let me know what I need to do next?

    Hi,
In a peer-to-peer setup, every computer are both client and server. each computer communicates directly with others in the network. It's much more common in the home.
You need have a router (possibly with wireless capability) and the necessary Ethernet cords to run the router to the modem and from the router to all of your computers.
Then add them in the same workgroup or HomeGroup.
Here is a detailed guide, please follow that step by step:

    Hi,
the error code 0xC004E003 simply means the Software Licensing Service reported that license evaluation failed.
Please take a try with the option Change product key, then enter your original product key again.
    Follow the steps below:
    Click Start, click
Computer, and then click System properties on the toolbar.
In the Windows activation section, click the Change product key. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click
    Continue.
In the Product key box, type the product key, and then click
    Next.
Note Use your original product key.
Follow the steps in the Windows Activation Wizard to complete the activation process.
More detailed information, is talked in the below KB article:
Error message when you try to activate Windows 7 or Windows Vista: "An error has occurred"
EDIT: Regarding license issue, please make a contact with your local

Hp Pavilion 15-f019dx downgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 7 home premium 64 bit.
    Stopped:
    Internet driver
    Wireless
    USB controller
    Network Controller
    PCI Device
    PCI simple communications controller
    SM bus controller
maybe other stuff I haven't noticed?
I see others on this forum have had similar problems going back to windows 7. I tried some of their driver solutions that were posted, but to no avail. Can I get some help? Maybe some links to where I can find drivers to help me? Windows update cannot find and automatically install replacement drivers.

    Hi:
Looking at the hardware specs for your model you should be able to use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from the HP Probook 450 G2 on your model except the BIOS and firmware files.
Your model uses the Intel HD graphics driver and the Realtek RTL8188EE wireless card driver.
