    Hi,
Please don't disclose any product key information in here. This is public and open place to discuss Windows 7 problem. It's dangerous for any personal information.
Also, since the Windows is brought with OEM computer, maybe you could try to contact the manufacturer for help.

  • Are all Lenovo laptops shipped with the same Windows 7 Home Premium Product Key?

We've puchased a number of Lenovo Gxxx laptops and record the Windows 7 Product key, using Magical Jellybean or another tool, for a variey of reasons, including the fact that they clickly wear off the bottom of the laptop.  I've noticed that the laptops all report the same OEM Key, which doesn't match the sticker on the bottom of the laptop.  I've never encountered this with other laptops; is something wrong here?

If they all use Lenovo's Windows 7 Home Premium, just create a restore DVD or call them for one and you can use that 1 DVD to reinstall any of them. Due to the Key hidden in you bios/mobo when you install with Lenovo's CD you will not have to enter in a Key (as it see yours already) I know for a fact cause it did it for me. I did not have to enter a Key. If you are to use the CD for a none Lenovo PC it will ask you for a Key (as it did when I installed it in VirtualBox) And like I stated before it's a VL that is pre-installed with new systems.

  • Microsoft Vista Home Premium Product Key worn off

The product key is worn off the sticker on the bottom of my Compaq Presario CQ60 215DX.  I just replaced my hard drive as it crashed.  My 3 Recovery Disks do not work (I created them as soon as I bought the laptop).  I need to know how to obtain the Vista Home Premium Product Key that I have already paid for as part of my purchase of the computer.  HP, based on my serial number, shouldn't you have this information and be able to provide it readily?

Truth be told, no one on the forums here will be able to tell you what your product key is.
If you were able to boot into the Windows that was installed on the old hard drive, there are some utilities out there to retrieve it. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case since the hard drive was replaced and I take it you could not longer boot into Windows on that old drive either.
The best option would be to contact HP support to see if they might have the recovery disks from the factory still available. I suggest this as the hard drive image on those disks will have the product key already activated and ready to go. Once that is backup and going from the recovery disks, then you can use a program to retrieve the product key.
As of this time, the recovery disks can be ordered here. However, I recommend calling HP since the recovery disks you made are not working as they may have some options not available on the site.
The factory recovery disks should get you going again with the original software with an activated Windows key.

How to perform a 'Keyless Install' of Windows:
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD disc you created and start the installation process.

Also located just below the box where you would enter the key is a box with a check mark
to 'Automatically activate Windows when I am online', remove the check mark and click 'Next'.
You will now have a 30 day grace period in which to activate Windows.
During this 30 day grace period you can try resolving your problems.
After you are satisfied all problems have been resolved then activate Windows.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium key Codes

purchased windows 7 home premium 4 years ago lost the key codes for the upgrade recently purchased a desktop computer that is running this same OS it has no boot manager what i have is the install disk with no product key any one out there have a suggestion
considering formatting HD and doing a clean install.
    Respectfully Roy Ian Barnie

    Hi Roy Ian Barnie,
Since you might have to activate Windows again if:
You make a significant hardware change to your computer, such as upgrading the hard disk and memory at the same time. If a major hardware change requires activating Windows again, you'll be notified and will have three days to activate
    Windows.
You reinstall Windows. In this case, you’ll have 30 days to activate Windows again.
If you have to activate Windows again on the same computer, you don't need to buy a new product key.
So in your case I am afraid that if you could not find your product key, you might need to buy a new one.
Activate Windows 7 on this computer:

  • Hp pavillion a6500f product#KQ495AA-ABA windows vista - home premium 64 bit Won't boot

Hi - I cannot boot my desktop hp pavillion.  error message says put in an installation disk - don't have.  and also says file 32/boot missing or corrupt.  tried recovery group of three disks but doesn't do a thing????  Don't want to loose data what is best route to take?  thanks

    Hi xbill,
What is the exact message you have?
So far I understand you have a corrupted windows vista with an error message mentioning a missing or corrupted somthing32 file.
Your data should not be impacted at the moment (based on what you wrote).
What you may want to do at the moment is get a windows vista home premium 64 as it may be used to recover the missing/corrupted file(s).
An external hard drive to backup your files and finally a bootable CD to allow you to start your machine to backup your files.
But the first thing we need before we go any further is the exact error message.

  • Need help reinstalling Windows 7 home premium on HP G62-435DX

My internal hard disk crashed and I followed advice from this forum to use Ubuntu (using live disc from CD ROM drive) to recover data and save to external hard drive. Next, I replaced the internal hard drive with a 500GB internal hard drive. I figured out how to partition the new internal hard drive and get Ubuntu to acknowledge it.
Now, I'm trying to figure out how to reinstall my Windows 7 Home Premium operating system so I can try to get back to normal. However, I cannot figure out how to download Windows 7 to my hard drive using my product key that came with my machine when I bought it. All the download options appear to require you to buy/request Windows 7 recovery discs to run and install on the machine (since I didn't create these prior to my hard disk failing).
Is this really the only way I can use my product key to reinstall Windows 7 to my machine? Also, I cannot figure out how to download the OS from Windows 7 ISO downloads (via Digital River) to my internal hard drive - seems I can only do this by downloading and burning to CDs (which I don't believe I have the right kind - but obviously am happy to buy if it's the best/fastest option). It seems I have very limited options since I had to remove my internal hard drive, which then eliminated Windows 7 from my machine.
Based on these details - I ultimately want to determine the fastest, most efficient way to get Windows 7 OS back on my machine. I'd prefer to download it, but am hamstrung by having to run Ubuntu from a Live CD. Thanks for your help!

Here are the specs for your HP G62-435DX Notebook Computer. Here is the HP Software and Driver Downloads page if you wish to order the HP Recovery Discs and have them mailed to you. If you wish to download Windows 7 and use the Windows product key on the bottom of your computer, please see How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc for instructions on downloading, creating the installation media (DVD or USB), and installing Windows. You will need a funtional computer with DVD burning software capable of burning the ISO to disc.

  • Ei.cfg not being seen by windows installer on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit retail disk.

My problem is that the retail disk of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit has no ei.cfg restrictions. Instead of choosing the correct operating system ID, on install, the .cfg
is coming from some where else installing a custom version of windows that is a different version of windows than on the retail install disk that I have a software key to. Even though it recognizes the key as windows 7 the operating system no longer recognizes
the retail disk it was installed from as the same version of operating system. It seems that there is a pre operating system install to a volume that cant see the ei.cfg file on the windows retail disk. It is something like Windows ME or MCE and it is hard
to get past because it acts  like the operating system after install. It looks like there is a complete install of windows 7 but it is only a version of ME or MCE in the 100MB range installed to a partition volume. I am given a User account Profile within
Application Data folder  in the system. The actual windows system in its entirety does not exist in the partial virtual operating systems. All the installs are to Partition Volumes on the Partition of a GPT Server Partition on a Disk
on the Hard drive. All Virtual.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and 32bit retail disk is GSP1RMCHPXFRER_EN_DVD. The bios version on my Asus G75VX is American Megatrends version 206, V Bios version 80.04.97.00.13.N62G75500, EC version B14E140001. The operating system version is not the same

The above information was taken after an install from the Microsoft Windows 7 64 bit retail disk purchased at Fry's and installed to my Asus G75VX. It is a Network Managed Client Server configuration that installs from the retail disk.

I have been dealing with this problem since the day I purchased the first notebook from Best Buy configured this way and it was not even an Asus. It was a Samsung Chronos i7. The Asus G75VX I have now is the third notebook in a row purchased from Best Buy
with the configuration right out of the un open retail box. None out of the three came with windows 7 installed. They had windows 8 64bit installed with the configuration. I purchased Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit attempting to get around the configuration
    problem.
My main concern is that I use computers to do my legal documents in court cases in the United States Federal Courts and I am a pro se litigator and I have been litigating a civil action since 2011 that is still open in the federal court. I am also legally
disable and covered by Federal Communications Act FCC Rule 255. This configuration has Telephone software and equipment, Management Software and equipment, and Networking software and equipment all covered within FCC Rule 255. My notebook is unusable for litigation
or personal use as a Publicly Managed Network Client Server. I paid $1350.00 of my Social Security Disability income for the Asus G75VX and another $216.00 for Windows 7 Home Premium 32 and 64 bit DVD and that is not counting a list of other things to
now have a personal notebook computer I have to sat down beside me in public libraries, Colleges etc. to use their computers to do my legal work. It is illegal and total wrong and it is a violation of the Bill of Rights First and Fourth Amendments and Title
VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the American with Disability Act outside of 255.
