Windows 7, IE 8 compatability issue

Sometimes when I click on a document on the web that is a pdf and open it in Adobe Reader 9 I get a dialogue box that comes up. I am unable to read it. It is blank. I have a new PC and I did a system recovery got all of the updates and the same thing still happens. There is one button I'm assuming it is "OK" and click that. I then reload the document and it works. This can be from any website I visit. The issue is while using IE.
I found another person with the same problem but with Firefox:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itproappcompat/thread/2b1c433a-e408-4ca9-a ce6-a669135c954a

I have just done some more testing and have found Reader to be related to the error message I get when trying to print to the XPS Printer. In order to succesfully print to the XPS printer I have to uninstall Reader 9.3.1. I did some testing in between before doing this. But the issue seems to be related. If anyone has any ideas it would be very helpful because I use both the XPS Printer and Reader a lot.

  • Windows 7 and Director - compatibility issues?

I have the old Macromedia Director 7 and Lingo which worked great on XP and Vista - unfortunately it won't work at all on my Windows 7 Home Premium!  I also have Adobe PageMaker 6.5 which also does not like Windows 7 (but as it worked well on the previous Windows versions I was loathe to purchase an upgrade).
I have tried to download the trial versions of the newer Director but nothing happens after you press the 'download' button - frustrating!  I have removed the pop up bocker - I have even turned off my anti-virus software incase that was the issue - nothing works!
Is there ANYTHING happening in the future which will allow these products or their newer versions to run effectively on Windows 7??  This is 2012 for goodness sake - surely an update/upgrade would have been on the drawing board to keep pace with Microsoft?
If someone can assist me I would gratefully appreciate it!

I was just wondering, did you ever get any answers to this. I'm having the same problems with both Director 8.5 and DirectorMX 2004

  • How do I fix Reader XI compatability issues with Windows 7 Home Premium?

Compatability issues are keeping me from being able to open pdf files using Acrobat Reader XI.  I have Windows 7 Home Premium and am using Webroot Security.  It is telling me to try unprotected mode, but I would like to be able to use protected mode.  Any way to fix this?

All menu options in Reader DC are very faint compared to earlier Reader versions or other programs.  You should still be able to click Preferences on the Edit menu:

  • Compatability issues with Windows 7

I have been trying to print out some event tickets from an email attachment and am being told that there is a compatability issues between that latest Adobe acrobat and Windows 7. I have been directed to this website for solutions.

    Hi,
Are you Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the tickets?
Did you try saving the attachments to your desktop and initiating a print?
    Thanks

  • Windows 8 compatibility issues

The last upgrade to itunes on my windows 8 pc has caused issues with itunes.  It takes 10 minutes to open.  Once open and you hit prefrences or any other option another 5-10 mintues to open.  I just bought a windows 8 pac 3 months ago, had no issues until the last upgrade.
Does anyone know what's going on, I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, based on a bunch of recommendations out there, but nothing works.

    Try the following: Locate iTunes.exe
Right Click > Properties > Compatibility
Check 'Run As Administrator' > OK.

  • Boot Camp / Windows 8.1 64-bit / Driver compatibility issues

    Hi everyone,
I have been struggling to install Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit version through Boot Camp on my MacBook Air 13 inch mid-2012 for a few days and I have finally decided to give up and write this thread to see if anyone has encountered the same problems as I have and if they've found a solution.
    What I've tried so far:
    1. First attempt
         a. Download the ISO from Microsoft (We are a Microsoft Partner and have access to internal use licences of Windows 8.1).
         b. Use the Boot Camp utility to create a bootable USB drive, download the latest Boot Camp drivers and partition my SSD drive.
Issue: Upon rebooting, I got the "No bootable device found" error message. I still tried to boot on the USB drive, which I was able to, but           when installing Windows, I was unable to format the partition created by the Boot Camp utility as it contained a "MBR partition table"           instead of a GPT.
    2. Second attempt
         a. I searched the Internet about the error message about the MBR partition table.
         b. The solution I found was to format the partition created by the Boot Camp utility as "Free space".
         c. I was then able to start Windows installation by formatting the partition I wanted to allot it to through the Windows installation process.
Issue: The installation went smoothly until my computer rebooted the first time and the "Peripherals preparation" step (sorry about the           approximate translation, I'm used to the French version of it) got stuck at 10% and was brutally followed by a black screen. Forcing the           computer to restart would show the Windows logo and go straight back to the black screen situation...
    3. Third attempt
         a. I decided to create a bootable Windows installation USB drive using UNetBootin utility and creating a "Free space" partition through Disk      Utility on which to install Windows.
         b. I then booted on the USB Drive and was able to install Windows properly.
         c. I donwloaded the set of Boot Camp drivers through Apple's wesbsite corresponding to my MacBook Air model.
Issue: Somehow, the graphics driver installed by Boot Camp made my system crash as I got a black screen when it tried to install. Even           without doing anything and having Windows try to install the right driver by itself, I got a black screen and an unusable installation of           Windows 8.1.
What am I missing here? Why isn't the Boot Camp utility working when it should be so easy? Is there a compatibility issue of my graphics driver (Intel HD Graphics 4000) with Windows running under Boot Camp?
Thanks in advance for your help. I'm in desperate need of a solution as I don't want to go back to using virtualisation softwares such as Parallels Desktop, VMWare, etc. though they work just fine...
    Best regards,
    Alex

    1. Your MBA does not support EFI/Free Space method.
    2. You need to ensure that your USB is a USB2 device.
    3. The MBR should be checked, because there are known cases where BCA fails to create the MBR.

  • Compatibility Issues with CS2 and Windows 2000 XP??? This is supposed to be THE one operating system CS2 DOES WORK ON? Can someone help - I really need my CS2 back! Thanks.

HELP! Years ago - SEVEN to be exact- I PURCHASED Adobe CS2 and used it extensively. Then I was in an accident that took five years to recover from. After my recovery I tried to get back to using my Adobe products only to find that Adobe was discouraging use of CS2 and since I OWN a LICENSE and that was the LAST version I used I wanted to begin again with a version I am familiar with. Many months later, apparently I wasn't the only one who wanted to KEEP USING CS2 and now Adobe has made it possible to download this version for PC and MAC, BUT due to OS compatibility issues Adobe continues to discourage downloading and use. HERE'S THE THING: I have the SAME SYSTEM running the SAME OS as when I first PURCHASED IT. I have downloaded the EXACT SAME VERSION of CS2. It installs fine. But I cannot OPEN the application and the troubleshooter reports there are "COMPATIBILITY ISSUES". WHY?!?!?!?!?
I'm on a PC running Windows 2000 XP. I OWN a LICENSE for Adobe CS2 and it used to run on this very same machine. I had to re-format my system two years ago so it has much more free space but when I  try to OPEN the application it won't run. When I run the Windows Troubleshooter it reports system compatibility issues?! Can anyone advise me what to try now??? Thank you.

Yes, I have. My system was completely cleaned of everything and I'm just now RE-INSTALLING CS2 for Windows2000 XP from the Adobe site that gives you versions to select for your OS. I have successfully downloaded disks 1,2 and 3 and I can INSTALL disks 1 and 2, but it FAILS at disk 3. I REALLY need to resolve this today because I need to submit some work by tomorrow and the troubleshooting isn't helping!
Can you advise anything else . . . anyone? Thank you!

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard compatibility issues with Office 2007 and Windows 7

I just updated my platform to Windows 7 and upgraded from Microsoft Office 2003 to Microsoft Office 2007.  The PDF printer did not download and realized that there are compatibility issues with Office 2007.  How could I get this fixed?

    Buy Acrobat 11.

  • I was wondering how come my Acrobat 6.0 Professional Standard before I had no problem now when I use it it states the program has compatibility issues, I have windows 7 what can I do..it was working before

I am looking for help in correcting this issue... I had no problem before using my Acrobat 6.0 professional to create word documents to pdf...now when I go to use it there seems to be a problem
it states that the program has compatibility issues with window 7
    can anyone help please.

To expand on this, the PDF creation aspect of Acrobat  had to be updated to deal with changes in the Windows spooling system (for the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance) as well as to support 64-bit versions of Windows.

  • What is the compatibility issues restricting use of Dreamweaver MX2004 with Windows 7

I can't launch an update my website design on Dreamweaver MX2004.  Adobe technicians have informed me the application is not compatible with Windows 7.  The Dreamweaver was already loaded onto this computer when I took over this assignment.  I assumed it was applicable before, so now what are the compatibility issues?  I need to launch these updates.  Can anyone help or provide directions what to do?

There are other Forum participants running MX2004 on WIN7, much to my surprise, even on 64bit machines.
You may wish to be sure that whoever did the installation on your WIN7 machine, knew enough to also install the 7.01 Updater

  • Windows 7 compatibility issues with Studio 8

    Hi guys,
Sorry if this question has been asked before.
I can't afford to upgrade my Studio 8, and I would ideally like to install it clean on my Windows 7 rig which is working fine.
I understand that there is an issue with Flash and Windows 7, and I would like to know what it is (and how serious), and also whether there are any other compatibility issues that would make problems for myself.
    Any advice gratefully received.

If compatibility is important to you, your best best is to run a virtual machine in your Windows 7 64-bit installation.  You can do this using Virtual PC as part of Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, or via VMWare's Player software ( http://www.vmware.com/products/player/ ).
Also just a reminder that CS5 betas are planned for later this year and Adobe typically only allows you to upgrade from the previous 3 versions (Studio 8 = CS2, CS5 will be the last version) and some of the Creative Suite applications are going to be 64-bit only(a couple products have updated FAQs stating this fact).

  • Installing Acrobat Standard 6.0 under Windows 8 & Microsoft Office 2013 - compatability issues

In older Windows/Office versions, a PDF Printer was integrated into software, such as Word. this would allow you to print directly into Acrobat in PDF format.
Under Windows 8 Office 2013 there seem to be compatability issues and I can not longer print to Acrobat.
Are there any patches or solutions out there ??

    i'm a fan of doPDF:  www.dopdf.com
which allows any app with print capabilities to print a pdf document.
