Windows 7 install wizard cannot proceed

Hi
I have a fairly clean WIndows 7 (64) install, but when I tried to load SunMC
(having added java to the path) I get the initial screen, and clicked continue
then get:
The install wizard cannot proceed
Aborting installation now...
What have I missed?

What have I missed?Well, the official answer is it isn't "supported" on [anything newer than XP|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-2215/deployment-72?a=view], but that doesn't mean it won't work (I've seen people run it on strange versions of Linux, OS X etc). It's probably just the installer that's broken.
If possible, install it on an older/different system first, then copy over the files to your Windows 7 box (it will be in C:\Program Files\SUNWsymon by default). Inside will be the SunMC4.0\Console\es-console.bat file that actually runs things. Edit the top of that bat file to point to your version of Java and it should "just work".
I don't have a Win7 system to test it for you, please post if you get it working so the rest of the world knows too! :)
Thanks!

  • Unable to boot from disk. I have a Windows 7 installed and cannot login to it. I would like to remove windows and install the orginial or upgraded OS.

I have a MacBook Pro that has Windows 7 installed. I am no longer able to login in to windows. I would like to just start from scratch and rebuild the computer but when I try to boot from the OS install disk I am directed to the boot manger screen. The ony OS avaliable for me to boot to is Windows. I have even tried to use a DBAN disk and usb but nothing seems to work. any suggestions?

If you have inserted the Mac OS X install DVD disc in the DVD drive and used the Option key at boot and all you see on the screen that comes up is the Windows OS disk thenn your DVD drive has failed,
If you have not inserted the OS X install disc in the DVD drive then do that and at Startup/Restart Hold down the Option/Alt key and then select the DVD disc icopn that comes up.

  • Error during recovery -- Windows installation cannot proceed

I have a Satellite A355-S6925, and I tried to reset my computer by pressing 0.  Now I'm getting this error.
The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error.  Windows installation cannot proceed.  To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, then restart the installation.
Now what?  If I click OK, it just ends up back at the same error.

Never mind, I got it.  I just held 0 again to start it over.

  • HP C309a, Windows 7, on software install, wizard shows "PC IP address incompatible with Pntr IP"

Have had this printer working for almost three years (Wireless) but was having intermittent issue lately where the printer did not respond to print requests. (Off line and other indicators). I finally decided to uninstall and reinstall the entire HP Software package.  Now, however, the wireless wizard is defining the local IP addresss of my PC incorrecty, and thus shows it to be incompatible with the printer IP address (Both should be NAT and have been totally compatible. I can't find a way to manually enter the correct PC address to allow the wizard to complete the wireless installation/set up. Printer is working fine via USB, but that is not what I need. Can I manually make the correction, or is there a way to get the wizard to look for the correct address? From the printer, I show no problems on the Wireless Network test report, so it is talking with the router.

What "wizard" are you referring to, the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer, the Windows Add a Printer Wizard, or the HP Install Wizard?
What brand and model router are you using?
What firmware version is installed on the router?
What is the IP address of the printer, computer, and router (default gateway)?

  • Cannot complete Windows 7 Install - Mouse/Keyboard not working

    Hi all,
I have scoured the Internet and Apple support forums, and I can find no solution to this problem.  If anyone can help, I would be eternally grateful.
I have a brand new 27" iMac.  When I try to install Windows 7 via Bootcamp, everything appears to work fine, until I get to the first Windows install screen.   This is the screen where it asks what language you would like to use, etc.  The problem is I can't get past this screen because there is no keyboard or mouse functionality.  There is no curser on the screen, and no buttons work.
I have tried the bluetooth set that came with my computer, as well as a separate USB set.  I have tried plugging and unplugging the USB while at that screen.
I have tried loading Windows 7 from the DVD and from the ISO on a memory stick.  I have downloaded the support software automatically and manually.
I am an experienced Mac user, and I have done everything I can think of, but I am at a loss.
    Please help!
    Thanks

I have seen a few others now with this problem, but no real solutions.
I contacted apple care, and after running me through the same fixes I had already tried, they suggested that I contact Microsoft.  I guess that the thought is that it's an issue with the Windows 7 install program not recognizing the BlueTooth.  This doesn't make any sense to me, but I might as well try it.
I will update if I ever discover a solution.  Please let me know if you are able to resolve the problem.

  • Cannot Complete Windows ADK install files download

I have been trying for days now to complete the install for the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) for Windows 8.1 on my SCCM Server (SCCM is not installed yet).
The Server is running Server 2012R2, patched to the latest updates, connected to the Internet.
The application seems to stall on 4 particular .cab files that do not seem to be available from Microsoft Downloads. They are:
    a32918368eba6a062aaaaf73e3618131.cab
    9722214af0ab8aa9dffb6cfdafd937b7.cab
    6d3c63e785ac9ac618ae3f1416062098.cab
    3dc1ed76e5648b575ed559e37a1052f0.cab
Here is a sample download path: http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/9/F/99F5E440-5EB5-4952-9935-B99662C3DF70/adk/Installers/a32918368eba6a062aaaaf73e3618131.cab
I have managed to manually download all the other files directly from MS, but these 4 files will not download. Any ideas or suggestions?
I have downloaded the latest adk installers (both for Windows 8.1, and the standard ADK installer) but neither of those will complete the install.
There is ample disk space for the 4+GB of data required (100GB+). My firewall is not blocking any downloads. I am running the installer in elevated Administrator mode.
None of this makes any sense. Very frustrated, because I need to get the ADK installed so I can complete the SCCM install! I am also trying to download the install files on my local workstation and that fails as well!

I have windows 8.1 and cannot access itunes store even creating a new apple id. With other users on the same computer I can access itunes store. How can I solve this?

i had the same problem before using a fresh install of Windows 8.1.  I have resolved this issue by running the program compatibility wizard.  This I did by right-clicking on the iTunes icon in the desktop, selecting Troubleshoot compatibility, waited for it to detect compatibility issues and when presented with the following options: 1.) Try recommended settings; 2.) Troubleshoot program, I chose the latter.  When asked what problems I noticed, I checked the following: "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run" and "The program requires additional permission"
After that, it tired to resolve the issue, and provided the necessary settings to run iTunes.  Now it's running flawlessly.  I have Avast anti-virus installed though.

  • Remote Desktop Connection - cannot proceed because authentication is not enabled

    Hello,
I try to connect via RDP from a Windows Server 2008 R2 to another 2008 R2 Server.
I always get the error message.
The connection cannot proceed because authentication is not enabled and the remote computer requires than authentication be enabled to connect.
On the target machine the Remote Settings are set to:
Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop.
Firewall is disabled on both servers.
Therefor I do not understand why I get an error message, that authentication is required.
The target box is a nearly fresh syspreped machine with all current Hotfixes installed.
I already found a lot of people having that problem by using XP (old RDP client), but no one seems to have this problem when connecting from 2008 R2 to 2008 R2.
Thank you very much in advance for every hint.
    BR
    Matthias

    Hi Matthias,
First I would like to confirm if you have deployed RDS (Remote Desktop Services) and you got the error, if so, please check this option
TS Configuration, >> RDP-Tcp Properties >> change the Security Layer to "Negotiate"
Then Recycle the TS Gateway service.
    Refer to:
Unable to connect to Server using the Remote Web Workplace (RWW) Small Business Server 2008
If this issue has nothing to do with RDS, and I suppose you used the cmd "mstsc" to remote access. This issue may also occur because of the version of mstsc, please make sure it has been upgraded to the new version.
In addition, Did you have another newer server available like Server 2012? So we can test and try to use Server 2012 to remote access Server 2008 R2, and check if the issue persists.
If there is anything else regarding this issue, please feel free to post back.

Installed, but cannot get Firefox to run. When I try, it crashes. Report contents give adapterdevice id - 0x0a3c and adaptervendorid - 0x10de
Have tried to uninstall and reinstall.

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
