Windows 7 installation problem

Hi, I'm trying to install Windows 7 (specifically, it's windows 7 professional with service pack 1, 64-bit) on my mac (a 13-inch mid-2012 MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.3) via Boot Camp, and I've run into a problem.
I had no issues when going through the BootCamp Assistant, have a USB drive with all the needed files and everything, and have partitioned my hard drive. The problem comes up when I get to the point of resetting my computer.
I get a black screen with the message "no bootable device - insert boot disc and press any key," even though the USB drive is sitting right in the slot and is being read by the computer. Pressing keys does nothing, naturally.
The issue isn't getting back to OSX like some other posts I've seen on similar topics, I can do that just fine by holding down the "alt" key on startup (incidentally, the USB drive shows up just fine in my list of available startup disks, so I know it's being read). I want to know how to find a workaround for this problem and continue with the installation.

Sometimes it could be that other devices are plugged in when trying to install Windows Check to make sure nothing else is plugged in that could take power away from the USB drive and start the process again.

Please help!! I am a user of the Blackberry Desk Top Manager, running under Windows XP Service Pack 4.5. I recently downloaded the latest version of Desk Top Manager and I am getting the following error: - Flashing intermittently, whilst running the newly downloaded Desktop Manager - "Windows Installer Preparing to Install". I have removed the programme, downloaded it again from Blackberry's website and run my Windows updates to no available. I have now been advised that I must format my entire computer and reload Windows, which seems to be a rather onerous solution, as I have been using Blackberry's Synchronisation Programme for over a year successfully before this took place. I should appreciate it if you would let me know how this problem on my IBM Think Pad Laptop can be cured.

My first concern is that you do have a version of desktop manager that you can maintain your device and PIM data with, do you?
Please post back with as much detail as possible regarding your hardware and software setup.
Also post what steps you have taken to resolve the issue. The more detail we have the better we can help you. I'll reread KB 19300 and find what happened to my broken link.

Windows installation problem with Bootcamp

Since a few days I have a new iMac 21,5 (end 2013) Maverick latest version installed as I had on my "old iMac" I tried to instal Windows 8 or Windows 7.
Use the bootcamp and set the right size for my windows part, and download the drivers all goes well. After the iMac reboot comes up with the setup from Windows
ask the keyboard settings and than shows the partitions. Select partition 4:BOOTCAMP. Here starts the problem, I do not see the advance drive options, as also the "NEXT" button is not selectable. As I format the partion also "NEXT" button is not selectable. I am stuck here, please help :-)

I got stuck with the same error and spent a long time trying to work this out. It turns out that the issue is your USB3 stick. I'm not sure how it gets so far into the installation, but it seems that the USB3 drivers aren't available to the Windows installer.
Try again with a USB2-only drive and you should find that Windows will install fine.

Premier Elements 11 Windows installer problems

I am having a problem installing Premier Elements 11on my Windows 8 (64 bit) Laptop. I purchased the Elements Combo pack and when I install Photoshop Elements it works flawlessly. However, when I attemp to install Premier Elements it asks me to choose my installation language then I get an unusual Windows Installer screen and it will not let me advance any further.

Have there been any reports of a faulty installer with Premier in the Boxed set? Photoshop installed so seamlessly it's odd that this is popping up.

Eitehr your Windows installer is damaged or you run without sufficient user privileges. Run Windows Update to repair the installer and make sure to run as admin. also turn off any security stuff temporarily.

Windows Installer Problem

Trying to install iTunes 10.5 but get this message every time: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".
I have tried clearing out all Temp files, uninstalling the iTunes 10.3, rebooting,and then trying to reinstall 10.5, but to no avail.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Acrobat 7.1 update fails -- Windows Installer problem

I am running Windows XP SP3.
During the update to Acrobat 7.1, I first get a Windows message in a window labeled "Windows Intaller" that states "The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it."
Having no clue what this means, I stick my legal Windows XP CD in the drive but that is no help.
This is followed by a message from the Adobe installer that it has failed because "Missing source media. (Error 1612)"
Can anyone please suggest a fix?

Help! I can print everything, except Adobe, "unable to print job, is printer available?" Windows Installer problem in iTunes

Hello,
I'm got the following error message when I tried to operate the iTunes on my laptop: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" . I can not remove the iTunes in order to reinstall it and I didn't find as well the Windows Installer Cleanup utility. Any idea how to resolve this problem?

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

Itunes - windows installer problems

I tried to update from ITunes 11 to 12 and got "Windows Installer Service cannot be accessed". So I removed ALL Apple software from my Windows 7 PC, did various recommended fixes from Microsoft, but still the same. Now I get exactly the same trying to reload ITunes 11! I have had this problem on previous updates, and deleting the various Apple software has always fixed it, but not this time. So very frustrated - anyone know how to fix this please??

tried that but didn't help. This is what fixed the problem:
- go into command prompt mode (AKA Dos mode)
- type in sfc /scannow
- let it run.
This solves many Windows problems where files and settings have been lost or corrupted. In fact, Apple should add this to their articles on Windows problems with ITunes installation.

Windows installer problems

I have downloaded itunes 10 for windows 7 64-bit, when i go to install it after a couple of seconds i get a error message that "Windows installer service could not be accessed.". I have found a few things to try but, none have fixed the problem.

Cannot install iTunes - windows installer problem!

I have spent two days trying to fix the registry and use a clean utility. Nothing works! I see that this is a fairly common issue that has been around for several years, but none of the fixes (including the msi utility that MS has now taken down) works. Some suggested that I just uninstall the windows installer utility, but I'm can see how to do that. I've tried stopping the service, but it doesn't work. I am looking at my new iPhone which is a lovely paperweight.

This did not work for me, but you might want to try. I have both an iPhone and an iPad2. I think that I am going to have to reformat my drive.

ICloud for Windows Installer problem

I can't install iCloud for Windows. I keep getting Windows installer error message. This is frustrating! Please help.

This worked for me...
remove the old icloud software
remove the files in c:\program files\ common files\apple\internet services (not all files will deleted)
remove the files in c:\program files(x86)\ common files\apple\internet services (not all files will deleted)
Re-install iCloud 3.1
Run apple software update
Presto icloud 4 installed successfully

Windows installation problems.....

Hi, I have a little problem with an installation of oracle 8.1.7 on windows xp profesional services pack 2 version 2002, with 256 MB of ram. When I make a click on the septup icon the computer make nothing, I think that the problem is the memory, because I tried to install on a windows server 2003 with 384 MB of ram, and made the same. But I installed it on a windows server 2000 with 512 MB of ram and oracle run fine, I did not have problem with that instalation.
Please help me, because I have to prepare an environment to tomorrow, and I have to be ready.

Can't Install iTunes 10.6.3 Windows Vista Windows Installer Problem

Basically, just before installation completes a popup of "There is a problem with this Windows InstWhat exactly would I be missing??? please help !aller package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run.". I've read many threads that state that all I have to do is run a repair on the Apple Software Update(ASU) but my problem is that I've already uninstalled it. Now what comes to my mind is that, it wasn't a clean uninstall as I just uninstalled through Add & Remove.
So I would preferably like to get an answer to the whole problem or if not what files are linked to the ASU that might cause this problem. Please help I've alot of things and I really hope there is another solution then to reformat my PC, I really don't wanna reformat my laptop just for iTunes and because I have an iPhone, I unfortunately, have to depend on having it installed.
Back story (Why I do not have ASU):
When I updated my iTunes and several other Apple software, I was unable to start itunes, kept getting a permissions issue. So I set all the permissions to my User Account (note that I am, from the start, using an admin account) but still errors kept popping up. Usually when an update doesn't work I just go through Add & Remove and uninstall all Apple programs before trying to reinstall iTunes and etc, which I did, Except this time...

Download and save a full itunessetup.exe or itunessetup64.exe file(depends on your operating system).

Use Winrar to unzip the file into a folder. Then right mouse click the file AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi from that folder to install.

Windows Installation problem

About one year back I installed Windows 7 (32 bit) on my laptop (A305-S6858) without any problem. But recently I tried to install Windows 7 (64 bit) within from Windows 7 (32 bit) but the laptop turned off itself on “installing Windows” screen. Now I am not able to reinstall any OS of Windows. Even I cannot complete the installation with the Recovery CD which came with my laptop. The problem is that during each installation “Windows is loading files” and “Starting windows” sessions are working perfectly. But, laptop restarts or screen flickers just about to start next screen “Language and Other Preferences”. Finally I tried to installing Windows XP professional to check the installation but it also restarts about 34 minutes to finish installation. Please help..

Hi bijoo! I see your PC was shipped with Vista OS. I know nothing about Vista. If seatools said your HD was good, there's a very good chance that it's good. The next thing I would check is RAM. You can test it with memtest 86. It is a ISO file also and you will need to burn a CD like you did for seatools. Are you trying to restore with a full battery and the AC adapter plugged in?? If memory tests good, I would try a different HD, even though Seatools tested it to be good. There is a chance that your restore media is corrupted or that your DVD drive is not reading the information correct. You have a tough problem here. You could try to install a Linux OS.
