Windows 7 - iTunes Will NOT Open
Will someone PLEASE PLEASE address this issue for all of us users who are using Windows 7.. and have been using iTunes perfectly for YEARS and now all of us a sudden with an update in June it just doesn't work.
And PUH-LEASE do not paste a link for the same old link that EVERYONE has posted.
I really, really would appreciate some thought put behind a response. (As I'm sure everyone with this issue would as well. It's incredibly frustrating to have an iPod or iPad and not be able to add new material to it, only charging.)
Again, I plead for your help.

i had exactly the same problem that in May/June suddenly iTunes was not starting correctly on my Windows 7 system anymore, but after using Google and finding the posting describing a solution to deactivate the Bonjour service everything is back to normal with iTunes on Windows. However, i would like to see Apple fixing this iTunes/Bonjour/Windows problem because i also would like to print remotely to a printer connected to one of our iMacs, and without Bonjour that is not working anymore.

Remove SC Info.sidb file
(This applies to Win7 or Vista)
From the Start menu, click Computer.
In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
Click the View tab.
In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected.
Click OK.
Navigate to the following location by either typing it into the address bar, copying and pasting it into the address bar, or clicking through the folder hierarchy listed: C:\Program Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info
Right-click the SC Info.sidb file shown and on the shortcut menu, click Delete.
Right-click the SC Info.sidd file shown and on the shortcut menu, click Delete.
Restart the computer and open iTunes. -

I need help! My itunes will not open in Windows Vista. I have tried everything suggested by the apple website. Even when I open itunes in safe mode, it still will not allow me to continue. I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago. I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam. I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.

I had to reinstall Windows 7. Since then, iTunes will not open. I have uninstalled iTunes and all related Apple products and reinstalled several times. It tries to open up for about 3 seconds and then nothing. Quicktime opens fine, but no iTunes. HELP!!
Hi, hopefully you have solved this now but if not I had a similar problem with an earlier version of iTunes.
To solve it I had to go into the services menu and shut down a service called 'Bonjour'. Then once iTunes was loaded restart the bonjour service in order to be able to connect a device to it.
There are also 2 other services one called 'apple mobile device' the other called 'iPod service' which are also known to cause loading problems.

The new version of iTunes will not open on new computer with Windows 7. Old version of iTunes was Windows XP SP2 carried over from old computer. There seems to be some type of color incompatability. Any help?
Uninstalled old iTunes, deleted all old iTunes files in Program Files folder, except two that would not delete, and deleted all iTunes I could find in the registry. Downloaded and install latest version of iTunes. iTunes will open and quickly close with black windows, twice. Troubleshooting says "incompatible Application." Any suggestions?

I have followed instructions found elsewhere to do the following:
•“C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe” -remove (Note: delete the quotes displayed here and type again using keyboard)
•Navigate to the following folder in Windows Explorer: C:\Program Files\Bonjour
•Rename the mdnsNSP.dll file in that folder to mdnsNSP.old
•Restart your computer
•Delete the the Program Files\Bonjour folder
All successful, now there is nothing that has anything to do with iTunes , Quictime, Apple Software Update, Bonjuor,...etc on my machine, now what do I install so I can get iTunes to work on Win 7 x 64 bit edition... ?

You restore the iPod via iTunes. Don't plug the iPod in. Open up iTunes and then plug it in and then try restoring, if it fails to restore a few times, keep trying. I do it on a daily basis, you're using an Apple product, remember...

King Penguin set you on the right track. It's probably security software not recognizing the new version of itunes, and blocking it.
