Windows 7 Lightroom 4.3 64-bit install

I download and install the program and can successfully go into the Library.  But when going into the Develop Module I receive an error message that says,
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-Bit has stopped working.
When downloading from Adobe I first make sure my anti-virius is disabled.
Before installing I go to the Control Panel and make sure LR is not present.  Also verify the Programs Folders as well.
Then I proceed with download.  What else I do not understand with the fresh download, previous changes made to LR are still present although the program is removed from my system before beginning download as previously stated.
Can you please provide a solution.
Thank you,
Louise

Provide the exact crash info from your System Event Viewer. On a hunch I would suspect that you have a graphics card issue, so update the driver in any case.

THIS IS TO MUCH MONEY TO JUST THROW AWAY ON A DEAD PROGRAM.

Yeah well, that was a typo on my part, it's 4.2 you have to keep in mind
that it was about 2 or 3 when I posted that.
BTW, corrected problem, working fine now.

Try resetting your preference file next: http://www.lightroomforums.net/showthread.php?14226-Resetting-(or-Trashing-)-the-Lightroom -Preferences-file
    It survives an uninstall/reinstall.

I am using Lightroom 5.7, 64 bit with Windows 7 Professional. For no apparent reason, I now get an error message when I export a photo, say a raw image to a JPG. However, the exported image seems to be OK. But now I notice that my LR directory of folders in Library view does not show images correctly: If there is a folder with sub-folder(s), the folder will indicate 0 images, but the sub-folders show the proper number of images. What happened and is there a fix? I tried uninstalling Lightroom and re-installing, but problem persists.

Well Every single time I try to install iTunes 9.2.1 it says that part of the installation failed & it won't let my iPod nano or my gen. 5 iPod run on iTunes. So far every iPod I've tried says no then it tells me to reinstall iTunes.
Well I've reinstalled like 20 times & I get the same error each time even when installing later versions of iTunes. What's the deal? Help please! I want my iTunes & iPod back working together!

Are you right-clicking > Run as Adminstrator when you do the install?

I have a Windows 7 Pro OEM disk that can install either the 32 bit or 64 bit versions.  When trying to setup a dual boot for my Mac Mini using Bootcamp version 5.0.3, I get the message that I have the 32 bit version of Windows.  Any ideas on how I can get it to recognize the 64 bit version so that I can partition my "Mini"?

If by "OEM" you mean the disk came with another Win computer, it won't work. You need either a full retail verison or the "System Builders' Edition." I used the latter for my BC installation and it worked flawlessly and was marked as 64-bit--no mention of 32-bit.

2011 MacBook Pro, 64 bit i7 quad core, upgraded to Lion OSx, Bootcamp installed with Windows 7, wanting to install Windows 8 (don't ask), tried downloading/installing bootcamp 5.0.5033 (both on the mac/windows partitions (actually using a parallel to run Windows)), error message something similar to bootcamp doesn't support this Windows
So the question is am I doing something wrong? Should I just try and install windows 8 through my windows 7 partition and see if I can use the bootcamp 5.05033. Or do I solely have to use the bootcamp to install Windows 8? I'm not too familiar with bootcamp and how it runs.

if you're using parallels and full bootcamp then you're making it 100% more troublesome for youself then it needs to be
bootcamp is running windows directly on the hardware this give full memory and cpu and 3d video game power
running windows in parallels is running a virtual machine where one can't run powerful games and the like but one can have it in a window and change fast between osx and windows
parallels as the only virutal machine (as far as I know) support not have the operating system as a file on the osx harddisk but can access a bootcamp parition as virtual machine but without the benefits bootcamps provides
it's a service parallels provide for those who want both to play games in normal bootcamp and sometimes use windows in a virutal machine
just install it like a normal virtual machine and you need not worry about bootcamp drivers and the likes
plus it would mean that the windows part would be a part of the timemachine bacup of osx
which it is not when it's in bootcamp

  • Windows 7 64 bit Install Issues

Hello every one. I am trying to dual boot Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on my Mac Pro. I have used the Boot Camp Assistant to partition a whole hard drive for Windows 7, but when I try and install the software the computer restarts and I get a black screen with white text saying to "Select CD-Rom Boot Type", but I can't do anything from that screen. The drive is in FAT32 format, in port 2 and has a 500 GB capacity. I'm using Boot Camp Assistant version 3.0.4. Help would be much appreciated.

You guys missed the important parts
    1. FAT is what BOOTCAMP is and does
    2. OP has 'unsupported' Mac Pro
    3. You can't boot from Win7 64-bit without reburning DVD after modifying it as an ISO
    4. To use two processors you will want Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate;
to use more than 1.9GB RAM you need 64-bit
s and I get a black screen with white text saying to "Select CD-Rom Boot Type", but I cannot

That is common, old, well-known issue.
I agree you don't need BCA and must pull other drives.
But this has nothing to do with not having NTFS, that comes later in the game.

  • OBIEE 11g 64-bit install on Windows 64-bit

I wanted to solicit any experiences that the user forum is having with installing 11g on a 64-bit Windows platform. I understand that the Admintool/Job Manager will not run with the 64-bit installation package but we can install the newly released Client install to circumvent this. I am seeing many forums out there in which the 64-bit OBIEE install is done as Simple or Enterprise. My understanding is that this is useless as the bundled WebLogic utilizes at 32-bit JVM. There is a Doc ID out on Metalink (ID 1220564.1) that states one can only do a Software Install. So we have proceeded with the following steps of downloading first the Java 64-bit JVM, then a WebLogic instance utilizing the 64-bit JVM (java -D64 -jar xxx.jar) and finally the OBIEE Software Only install.
The issue we are running into is that the Install fails when attempting to start the OPMN. So during the install the "Executing:opmnctl start coreapplication_obips1
" fails and references the OPMN not starting. We are unable to start the OPMN service as well. We have a static IP, so this not the known issue with the loopback adapter. The other issue I saw was having to install the VC++ 2005 SP1 libraries per another Metalink Doc ID (1226254.1). This was all done, however, the install continues to fail.
It seems the lack of knowledge from support as well as the vague/lack of documentation is frustrating. I just wanted to ping the OTN community around this scenario.

Thanks Paul, really appreciate the update. Spent this morning rebuilding our environment with 64-bit (Win 2008) and starting from scratch. The install has now succeeded. I tell you one thing you pointed out is something we noticed when we proceeded with the second install. That was the WebLogic version. I had initially used .4 and on the second install we used .3. I am guessing that this may have been the issue.
I will verify with our Oracle resources and I hope this post will assist other when doing the 64-bit install as I think it is very vague in the documentation.
I will update the post with Oracles response as well.
Just as an FYI... the reason this issue came up in the first place was we did an Enteprise Install on 64-bit and found that the Gauge Charts weren't working in the SampleAppLite Subject Area. So I will add that to the Tags for this post.
Hope this post helps others and they don't go through the headaches of a wrong install type.

It runs OK  for a while, but then suddenly it won't work. I uninstall it, re-boot and re-install again, bit the same process repeats itself and once again I have to uninstall and re-install again. I don't know if windows update interferes with it? Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is it fixable?

Well, the quick summary that you are not going to like: This system is pretty short on RAM and processor power, your graphics driver is outdated and you are using two screens with different resolutions, which eats up all graphics acceleration plus your card has only 256 MB of VRAM in the first place, which doesn't meet the requirements. You will never be able to use 3D under those conditions.

  • Errors "A media driver your computer needs is missing." or "Windows cannot install required files" upon attempting to install Windows 10 TP build 10041 64-bit

I'm attempting to install Windows 10 TP build 10041 [64-bit]
I am currently being prevented from installing by a "A media driver your computer needs is missing." error, which occurs fairly early in the process. I've interpreted further text in the message as a suggestion that it's a DVD, USB or some other
similar driver issue. However, as I've been able to attempt each install through booting from DVD and USB, I'm not convinced this is the issue.
I'm currently installing to a 128Gb SSD drive. I have installed Windows 10 TP on my laptop's SSD with no issues.
On a few occasions the installation has continue with the installation, and then failed at about 6% with the following error:
"Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0x8007045D". I have not removed the installation USB or DVD.
I did not have this issue when installing build 9841, so am currently assuming this is an issue with build 10041.
Apologies if this query has been posed before, a search did not show up this issue.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks for trying to assist!
I attempted removing/deleting partitions and formatting the SSD as part of the install process. I have also tried installing via USB and DVD with the same issues.
As part of the troubleshooting, I attempted to install a different OS. I was able to successfully install Linux Mint 17.1 with no issues. This further solidifies my impression this is an issue with Windows.
I will try a different USB port, appreciate the suggestion, didn't think it would make a different given the various methods already attempted.
