Windows 7 Machine, iPad Won't show up to Sync

I have a Windows 7 machine and cannot get my Ipad to show up in ITunes to sync. As of now it's just a paper weight, I can't get it to do anything. Please help me, I don't have a MAC yet so I am stuck using my thinkpad

I would uninstall both iTunes and Quicktime (they are related) and reinstall the latest version. I would install iTunes first separately from Itunes and then install iTunes.

you said you uninstalled iTunes. Did you follow this article?

because iTunes also installs other components and when removing and re-installing, you have to remove the components in the exact order otherwise it usually doesn't resolve the issue, and sometimes make it worst!
also make sure: you're using the correct ipad usb cable and plugging it on the back of the computer (not the front usb)
next step if it doesn't work would be to try to create another windows user (administrator) and try the ipad on that one, sometimes it works like that.

I keep putting in my passcode but my iPad won't show the numbers in the blocks and consequently it won't open for me. I have tried double tapping in the numbers and then it shows the numbers in the blocks correctly but then it responds with a wrong code in red and then locks me out.
Typing in the code takes a long time which might indicate a full HD.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Do your images show, if you disable the option "Do not import duplicates"? If yes, then check, if the images have already been imported, eg. using Photo Stream, if you are using Aperture 3.3 or later.

You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.

Why won't my iPad won't show up when I open iTunes?

I received my iPad as a gift last month. I have iTunes (v 10.1.1.4) on my PC (running Windows XP). I no longer have an iPod so I want to download my library of songs to my iPad. However, when I hook up my iPad to the PC, and I open iTunes, the iPad does not show up. My PC recognizes it's hooked up because it's visible in my Windows Explorer. Why won't iTunes recognize it?

Update to the newest 10.5 version and try again. Open itunes and go to Help/Check for Updates.

I've had my iPad for less than a week and just noticed that the emails I send through my Gmail account (IMAP) from the iPad won't download to my MacBook, whereas the ones I send from my laptop do appear on my iPad as soon as I press the send button. This is odd for the ones I send directly from the Gmail page also show up on my laptop when I open Mail. Anybody knows of a way around this synching problem? I've searched this forum as well as the Gmail website but haven't found any solution so far and don't know where else to look.

Sounds like you do not have SMTP for your iPad Mail configured correctly with Gmail. SMTP is used for sending email. When you send email from the Gmail web page using Safari on your iPad you are completely bypassing the Mail client app which is why that works.

I have a 2nd gen ipad. Since the latest ios update my ipad will not charge when hooked up to my computer running windows 7 and even though it shows that it syncs in Itunes, it will not download any apps. It just seems to skip that part.

I went to the apple store and they hooked up my ipad to a mac and it showed that it was charging and that apps would download. My ipones, touches, and ipods are not having any problems, just this ipad. It seems to be since I updated to the new ios. You can't even do a restore on it because it doesn't recognize it. It shows up top that it's doing that but nothing happens on the ipad. The computer seems to recognize the ipad, itunes recognizes it. It acts like it is communicating with it but it doesn't download anything and won't charge when it's hooked up to the USB port. THe Apple store says there is nothing wrong with this ipad which is about 6 mths old. So what now?

Most USB port do not supply enough current to charge the iPad.

By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. I have Windows, the ipad appear on my computer but in itunes does not appear, since uninstalled it and went back to itunes install, i restarted the apple mobile device services, programs already set up the startup of windows and nothing works, the ipad is with the last update ...
