Why winodows 8 , after up date , doesn't recognizes iphone hardware ? Solutions ??

I'm using the most up to date soft ware on both my iPhone and windows 8 laptop however I can not get the phone device to show up in iTunes. They phone is definitly conected to the comuter as it shows up in the left had corner saying "click to choose what happens to this device" when I do there are no options to use in iTunes but I can look at the storage on the phone using my documents on the computer, I have selected to trust the phone on the computer and the iPhone so I don't know what else to do? • Windows does not recognize iPhone

    Hi
After I upgraded my iPhone to iOS8 it won't recognized by pc ( windows 7 , 64 bit ) as portable device . I did every thing to resolve that like update iTunes , update diver , delete some photos , restart pc and iPhone , using troubleshoot , check usb cable , removing programs which I recently installed , check usb port but the problem does not resolved . iTunes recognize iPhone but not pc . I try another pc and there wasn't any problem on that pc . Please tell me what can I do ?
    thanks

So just for reference, the problem has been solved. I don't know what changed, but tonight when I connected my phone, Windows tried to run the "found new hardware wizard." I can't explain why. I hadn't changed any settings since last night when I connected and reconnected my phone at least a dozen times. The only thing I did between then and now was shut down.
Anyhow, when the Wizard started, I remembered a tip I had found here several months ago when I was having a similar problem with my iPod. I directed Windows to search for drivers in C:\WINDOWS\inf. The wizard found whatever it needed in that directory and now my PC recognizes my iPhone as a camera.
Can't explain what changed, but go figure. Thank you Windows for being as inscrutable as ever.

  • Windows 7: computer no longer recognizes iPhone USB for Hotspot

Yesterday (and every day before) I plugged in my iPhone 5 (latest updates in terms of iOS) to my Windows 7 PC and used the USB hotspot capability. Today I plug it into my computer, turn on the hotspot, and my computer does not recognize the USB hotspot. No updates to iTunes, or Windows - yesterday it worked, this morning it does not.
Other data: the phone is charging via the USB connection. iTunes sees the phone via the USB connection. And I can connect to the computer via the wireless hotspot, so the hotspot itself is functional. I just can't get my computer to recognize the USB hotspot.
Tried repairing a file someone recommended in the Program Data/Apple folder (can't remember the name) and that didn't work. Obviously lots of reboots for both devices. Resest the network settings.
    Help!
    Thanks/

  • ITunes 11.1.5.5 with Windows 8: no longer recognizes iphone 5, itouch 5, ipod nano gen 6 and ipod nano gen 7

Tried the troubleshooting guide, though it was for windows 7 and earlier operating systems; is there a trouble shooting guide for windows 8 I am missing?
finally uninstalled and reinstalled itunes on my computer but still, no devices are recognized.
Given all the posts I see, is this a known bug at this point in this version of iTunes and will there be another version coming out to address this?

    someone wrote:

  • Itunes no longer recognizes iphone

    Hi everyone,
I'm having a big problem synching my iphone 5 with iTunes 11.1.4.62 on my Windows 8.1 laptop. It started two days ago when I tried to add a couple albums to my phone (via cable) and noticed that it was synching about 5 times slower than usual. I figured that it must be synching over wifi instead of the cable and noticed that under the "summary" tab, "sync this iphone over wifi" box was checked. I unchecked that box to switch back to the cable, figuring that I must have checked it by accident. A second after unchecking that box, the entire iphone interface disappeared including the "iPhone" button in the top right corner. From that point, iTtunes on my laptop won't recognize my phone any more, period. I rebooted both devices multiple times, re-installed itunes, deleted and installed itunes all over, etc.  At the Genius bar they told me that my phone works perfectly and it's a software issue. Other than this, iTunes works and plays music fine. It's super inconvenient though, and at this point I'm thinking of doing a full system restore to wipe out all traces and re-install itunes again. Thought I'll ask if I should try anything else first. Any ideas?

Welp, I fixed it without any drastic measures!
    here's what to do:
    1. Open the device manager (found on the control panel)
    2. Clisk on "portable devices" (about 2/3 down the list)
    3. Right-click "Apple iPhone" and click "update driver software"
    4. When prompted, browse for the driver folder, which should be found under C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    5. Restart itunes

  • Windows does not recognize iPhone 5S as device

    Hallo,
For the past two weeks, my Windows 7 does not recognize my iPhone 5S as a device. This means I cannot download any media content captured with the device.
I have already followed the instructions posted on several Apple community topics re this issue, specifically the ones on checking the Universal Serial Bus Controllers. When connecting the phone, the Apple USB driver does show as a bus controller. I've checked for updates, and it shows that I have the latest version and that the bus controller functions correctly. The phone is also picked up by iTunes, although iTunes doesn't not start automatically like before. I'm using an Apple cable. Still, the device is not picked up by Windows.
    Can anyone help, please?

Did you check all of the steps in this support document iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows especially the ones about the Apple USB driver installation? Did you try removing and reinstalling iTunes as suggested and outlined in this support document? Make sure you follow those steps exactly. • Windows doesn't recognize Iphone after 3.1 upgrade

    Hi everyone,
I have a iPhone 3g that I upgraded to 3.1 on release date. Since then the phone has worked and synced okay. (except for it occasionally not coming out of sleep mode and I assume that will be fixed in 3.1.1)
However, my main issue is all of a sudden today when I plugged my iPhone into my computer Windows says that the USB device is not recognized because of a device malfunction.
I have tried several times after rebooting both iPhone and computer. I have also downloaded iTunes 9 (64-bit ver.) again and reinstalled using the "Repair" option from the iTunes installer. I am running the 64-bit version of Win 7 RC (have not had one issue with Win 7 and iTunes yet so I don't think that is the issue).
I have read some other posts saying that they did a restore to the iPhone and that fixed some of their issues. I however am unable to do that because Win and iTunes do not recognize that I have the phone plugged in. Also when the phone is plugged into the computer it does still charge and show that it is plugged in.
The iPhone is not jailbroken. And I used all original cabling for the upgrade etc.

    Try restarting AMDS: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567

  • Windows no longer recognizes my ipod.

i plug my ipod into the usb port of my toshiba laptop
it's an ipod click wheel 20g.
the ipod says: charging. it does not say do not disconnect, it just charges as if i plugged it into power.
my computer refuses to recognize the ipod
i have done everything the apple site recommends... reset the computer. i have disabled and then re-enabled usb drives. told windows not to shut down usb drives to save power. etc. i am absolutely sure that "ipod service" is running. i have put ipod into disk mode, but can't restore it cuz my computer won't recognize it in the first place.
i don't know what else to try... my computer+itunes were recognizing the ipod fine a few weeks ago but now it completely ignores the ipod.
any help, advice, or suggestions is much appreciated

I had the same problem some months ago, tried
everything but nothing worked. So I went to the store
and got a new one cos it was still covered by my
    warranty
I'm having similar problems. Win 2000, svc pk 4, 4th Gen iPod w/click wheel. Everything fine until I updated to iTunes 7. My PC sees the iPod as an external drive but iTunes doesn't. In fact, iTunes won't even open if the Pod is plugged in. If I launch iTunes, then plug in the Pod, iTunes freezes. My answer, get the **** off Windows 2000. While Microsoft keeps supporting 2000, other developers like Apple just aren't. It works on my computer only under iTunes 4.2, so that tells me that nobody really
    tested the latest on 2000.

  • Vista and XP no Longer Recognize Iphone as a removable drive for Pictures

I was trying to download my photos from my iphone, and none of my computers recognize it.
I did some searching, and it was recommended to remove any pictures that were not taken with the camera. I did this, and the computer recognizes it now.
Why did this change come about? This was not an issue for the first year and a half of owning this phone.
Is there a way around it?

I don't believe being able to save a photo from a received email or from a website to the iPhone's Camera Roll was available a year and a half ago. I believe this was added/included with firmware update 3.0 that was released last summer.
Not sure what the problem is, but it must be a bug. I haven't experienced the same yet with iPhoto on my Mac not recognizing my iPhone as a digital camera when it includes any photos that were not captured by my iPhone - not yet anyway, so I'm not sure why this is a problem with some of these photos and not others.

  • PC (XP) no longer recognizes iphone since upgrade to 2.0 failed

I updated my computer to 7.7 itunes and was updated my old iphone to 2.0. Got an error message that restore failed. Now my computer doesn't recognize the iphone, the iphone screen is stuck on the picture that indicates it's connected to itunes. HELP!

Mine did the exact same thing. I ended up going to the local Apple store and had them install 2.0. As far as your computer, it may have messed up your usb drivers, as it did on my computer. I ended up having to format my HD, and reinstall from OEM. Sounds like this may be your only option also.
I verified my computer problem by plugging my ipod into the computer while itunes is open. When I did this, my screen would freeze, and would have to alt, ctrl, del to close itunes. If you have an ipod, I suggest you try the same, and see if your's freezes also.
