Windows 7 not recognising ATI Radeon HD 5670

Ok, so I have installed Windows 7 32bit, to play SIMS 3. Now the apparent video card should be able to handle it.
The problem is that it only recognizes it as a standard VGA card. I have downloaded the Catalyst ATI Drivers with no joy.
Any advice or suggestions?

Fixed it! Had the same problem too. Windows 7 32bit mid-2010 iMac with ATI Radeon 5670 an all it would show was a vga-adapter, tried everything imaginable as well as trying XP but same problem existed. The graphics card just wouldn't install - windows of varying versions just thought i had next to nothing an nothing would persuade them otherwise but sussed it!
THE SOLUTION - yes there is one - is the same as for the black screen problem at install. In the updates released for bootcamp, one is for iMacs from mid-2010 which would display only a black screen at startup instead of loading. Now mine didn't do this but I figured it was the same basic problem with a graphics card. Follow the instruction and low-and-behold it works perfectly first time!
You'll need to reinstall Windows 7 but worth it. Apple's Article which fixes it: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3173
Good luck all!

  • XFX ATI radeon hd 5670

I bought the HP 6624y desktop computer with an integrated ATI radeon HD 4200 video card. I bought a new video card recently....XFX ATI radeon HD 5670 for gaming purposes. I did exactly what you're supposed to do to install a new video card i.e. change the BIOS settings, insert the card, etc. but my computer never detected the card. Any help on this problem?

    Hi,
Some of the ATI HD 5670 video cards require a 400 watt power supply. The p6624y only has a 250 watt power supply. My thoughts are that the power supply in the p6624y doesn't have enough amperage on the 12+ volt bus to support this card.
When the card is detected by the bios, it will automatically disable the on board video and switch to the video card in the PCI-E x16 slot.
You can try clearing the CMOS but it's a long shot.
A 500 watt PSU replacement should work.
You should open up your PC and measure the physical dimensions of your power supply.  Here is a list of things to consider:
    Specifications
    Total wattage - important
12+ volt amperage rating - important
Modular - not mandatory but I like the flexibility
    Warranty
    i7 and SLI ready
    Efficiency rating
    Cost
Physical size -- standard ATX PSU is 5.5" by 5.9" by 3.4" give or take a few tenths
A single 12+ volt rail is a better choice.
www.newegg.com has lots of PSUs choices.  Corsair, OCZ, Rosewill, Thermaltake.....

    I think this might help!
    1. Go to My Computer
    2. Go to Manage and then Device Manager (if you have Vista just click on System Properties up at the top and then on the left-hand side you should see Device Manager.)
    3. In Device Manager you should see portable devices or something similar and there will be a thing directly under it that says unrecognizable device or once again something similar.
    4. Click on that and you should get an option that tells you you don't have the device driver for the unrecognizable device, and you should get the option to download that.
    5. I just downloaded the driver and my computer automatically found it on the internet, and now it works.

But the status is the same.

Can someone help me figure out how to get my Ipod Mini to be recognized by my computer and Itunes? I plug it into the USB port but nothing happens except the Ipod shows that it is charging. The computer or Itunes doesn't seem to see My Ipod Mini at all. Please Help!!!!

  • Windows not recognises content on bootcamp partition

So i start ip my mac in my windows partition and i start it as per usual without safe boot. After the starting up windows screen the screen just goes black and doesn't do anything. The only solution i've found so far is to fully reinstall windows and all my content but i have about 300GB of content now so that wouldn't be helpful.

What version of windows is it? You could try repairing windows from the install disk.

  • Shuffle not recognised as an iPod by Windows + not recognised by iTunes???

    Hi,
My daughter was bought an iPod Shuffle for her birthday by a friend. When I first went to plug it in, it didn't sync with iTunes (which I use successfully with my own iPod Classic) but instead showed up as 'mp3' on my list on My Computer and prompted me to open as if it were jusu a memory stick.
I was able to transfer songs directly across into the folder, but then found that it didn't play m4a's copied from CD, or m4p's bought from the iTunes Store by my daughter!
And then, to top it all off, when I plug it in to charge the green light flashes briefly then goes out, and doesn't seem to charge!
It was bought from a supposedly reputable eBay seller by a friend, but came in a 2 Gb box even though it's only a 1 Gb one, plus didn't have a dock with it, only a USB to phono cable. Now I don't know if it's just the wrong cable or something else wrong, but I've tried everything I can find on these forums and on the Apple website to no avail and it's driving me crazy!
Can anybody help before we try to enter into a dispute with the seller?
    Thanks,
    Andy

IF it plays mp3s that are directly loaded to it without using iTunes to manage it, it's a knock-off clone of the shuffle (eg FAKE)... the other clue that it isn't a shuffle is the USB cable. Shuffles come with a dock with cable attached.
Also, is the on-off switch next to the earphone jack as in this image:

Your talking about in the pse 9 organizer and the fullscreen mode
    slideshow transition: 3d pixelate?
I guess the organizer uses a few open gl features, i was thinking about the pse 9 editor.
If you updated to the latest driver from ATI 11.3, try reverting back to 11.2

After you get to the page for your system drivers, click on previous drivers

  • ATI Radeon 9000 IGP Mobile driver doesn't have hardware acceleration

I installed the xf86-video-ati package and I don't get hardware acceleration. Glxgears gives a painful 80 FPS rate and nothing 3D intensive works, neither 480p/720p youtube videos. Also, it seems that the current drivers identify the card as 9100 instead of 9000, but I know that it's 9000 for sure. The laptop that I'm running is an old one, Compaq Presario R3000 with the Intel CPU.
