Windows 7 on T61p ... any info on chipset/driver availability?

Hi, I'm both a microsoft and lenovo partner and i'm wondering when/if Lenovo will be posting chipset and driver updates to support windows 7 on older but still under warranty machines.
generally, what can i expect.
i've just dumped windows 7 onto a test drive on my T61p and find that windows 7 will boot but has significant functionality issues with several (chipset - base system device, port device, etc) drivers
I tried using the chipset drivers for vista - but as expected - they did not work
not one driver for windows 7 - will there ever be? what do i tell my clients that want to run a single os on all gear now that xp is not being sold to distributors?
what's the official position.?

I have installed RC7202 Windows 7 on 3 thinkpads ...T40/41 ( both with WIFI and DVD Writers .... Both great ,,, HD access Speeds are much better !! Thinkpad T60 /T61P (2007 version) works except at the install time , the video drivers were not supported , but Vista 64bit drives works fine , Ran most 64 bit apps
Note :: t40 = 32bits and T60/s = 64 bit , all clean installs , not 'upgrade paths' were used. I plan to run windows 7 untill OS release then do clean install again for these , in place of Vista ........

Can't be done without stripping the DRM. That is illegal, and can't be discussed in this forum. If you have no DRM that's one thing. There are several services that will convert the book format. I've found a few on Google.

Windows Vista 32 bit and also 64 bit driver available for my HP-deskjet 5650 color inkjet ?

I have an HP-deskjet 5650 printer connected to my desktop pc that is running Windows XP and it prints fine. I have 2-other laptops on same network with Vista-32 bit on one and the newest laptop has Vista-64 bit. When I set up the network print connection by putting in the computer name and then the printer name it says a driver is missing on the server pc,which is actually the XP-desktop. Back on the desktop I made sure the printer was shared for the network. Then it also stated that if I was trying to print from a pc with a different O/S then you must add newer drivers which would have to be Vista.After checking,I dont think any are available for the deskjet-5650. Does anyone have an answer?

The work around that appears to work is to choose the Deskjet 990 driver from the list of printers supplied in the Windows Vista operating system.
Install the driver
Install the compatible print driver on the computer.
Make sure that the USB cable is not connected to the HP product.
From the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon (), type control printers in the Start Search box, and then press Enter . The Printers window appears.
Click Add a printer and then click Add a local printer .
Click the Use an existing port check box.
In the Use an existing port drop-down list, select LPT1: (Printer Port) and then click Next .
Under Manufacturer on the Install the printer driver dialog box, select HP .
Under Printers , select the Deskjet 990 and then click Next .
In the Printer name text box, type the HP product name and then click Next . The print driver starts to install.
NOTE:The name of the alternate print driver appears as the default name. The name can be changed to the name of the HP product, if desired.
9. After a message appears on the computer that the product was added successfully, connect the USB cable to the product and to the computer.
10. On the Found New Hardware screen, click Cancel .
NOTE:If multiple pop-up windows appear, click Cancel on each window.

I want to upgrade the hard drive in my Early 2009 Mac Mini. I see lots of good info online about how to disassemble and reassemble the Mini. But I can't find any info about hard drive compatibility.
Will any 2.5" laptop SATA drive fit the Mini? I want to make sure that all the connectors and mounting holes will line up correctly. I am thinking about Western Digital Scorpio Black.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Are any Thunderbolt portable storage devices available yet?

I have a fairly new MacBook Pro with a Thunderbolt port, which is running Lion. I am wondering if there are any portable Thunderbolt disk drives available yet that I can use on that port? I would love to have an external disk drive to store backups of my photos and other documents while I am on the road to replace my painfully slow USB 2 disk drive. If anyone knows of any offerings in this area, please reply to this message. A google search has not been helpful.

You need to import the contacts with a supported address book application on your computer.
With Windoze, this can be with Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 along with syncing calendar events and notes, or with the address book application used by Outlook Express with XP and by Windows Mail with Vista and Windows 7 called Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only.
There should be Palm desktop software available for your computer that includes the Treo contacts which should include an option for exporting the contacts in a format that is supported for import by Outlook or Windows Contacts.
Syncing contacts with a supported address book application on your computer is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.

Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and system full control to this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.

PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge error when install Chipset driver to T430 with Windows XP

I have one T430 and wanna downgrade to Windows XP. After I finished installing OS and procceded to update drivers, this error message
"Cannot Install this Hardware
There was a problem installing this hardware PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge
An error occurred during the installation of the device
The data is invalid"
came out when trying to install Chipset driver, which is the only one I failed.
Any ideas about this problem? Thank you.

Any Info on 3G Versions?

Does anyone have any info on when the 3G version of the S10-2 is expected to be available for purchase? I really need a 3G netbook and the S10-2 seems to be a pretty good choice. If this is not expected to be available soon, anyone know of any good alternatives?

I bought mine for that same reason and now found out that the BIOS will only allow approved hardware including 3rd party 3G mini-pci cards that really sucks wouldn't even see the one I installed, couldn't even upgrade my WiFi card to N the same one I was using in my S10. Wouldn't allow me to even start up past post on my S10-2 gives a NOT APPROVE HARDWARE REMOVE AND RESTART. We need a BIOS flash hack. I hope in the near future Lenovo will get there act together and unlock the S10-2 BIOS to allow us to run what we want but have a feeling that wont happen soon very disappointed.

The "help" is not accessing any info on Safari, Excel, Messages, etc.

When I try to access the "help", no info appears. It will show issues but not any info. The screen goes blank on my any Apple Mini. IOS 10.8.4
How do I restore it?

Sometimes just closing and reopening the Help window will clear up the problem. If it doesn't, log out or restart the computer and try again. Otherwise, you may need to delete the Help cache.

Is there actually any info that nokia could work on lumia 800 phone ringtone problem.... I have read all those topics that I can change any song I want and make it work as ringtone, but I don't think that it should be my problem, I have spent a quite big money for that phone, to just take any song I want and make it as ringtone without any hassle from my side.... I really hoped that lumia 800 will be a great replacement of my nokia n8, but until now there have been only many disappointments..

How the ringtones have been implemented is part of the Windows Phone OS over which Nokia has no control through the firmware. At this time there is no information available how this may change in coming updates but you might want to voice your opinion on this through the Windows Phone user request forum.

Which windows x64 chipset driver (IDE/ATA) is working on an iMac 24" (early 2009)?

The bootcamp software that came with the imac is not working in Windows 8. Is there a separate x64 driver for that chipset? I found several drivers for the nforce chipset which all did not work. I have found drivers for all other devices in that iMac. The missing IDE driver results in a very slow System. Thanks for any suggestions.
